The Wonderful World of Disney

Louisa's Magical Disney Journey

3.1.2007: Last Day :(

Yes indeed today was my last day   But let's start at the beginning.  This morning we headed out early to go to Animal Kingdom.  I didn't start work until 3.30pm and Mum was going to drive me anyway.  As usual it was fairly busy.  I had to make sure we got to see Finding Nemo: the Musical at 12.30 otherwise we wouldn't get to see it, but we went off and got a FastPass for Everest.  In fact, we did most things that we usually do.  Dinosaur was as bumpy as ever, and we did Primeval Whirl (I love this ride, it's so funny).  We didn't do Safaris as the wait was so long, and you know, I think I prefer seeing fake animals every ten minutes .  As usual Finding Nemo was AWESOME! I love Dory and this show is so worthy of Broadway.  I hope it gets there one day and eventually to the West End where I shall be Dory .  I finally started work at 3.30pm and it was like any other shift.  I spieled and took lots of pictures with everyone, but it still didn't feel like I was leaving!  Until it came to my last cruise.  I didn't know it was my last cruise but I kind of had a feeling it was when Mum and Rowan jumped on, along with Alex, Cindy and Kaori.  This was a great cruise; not the best I've ever had, but still amazing.  And I gave it all I got (even though it sounds like my normal cruise).  And then when we had pulled into dock, Michelle stuck her head in the doorway and told all the guests it was my last cruise, and they clapped some more.  It was then I got all upset!  Michelle was taking over my boat, so I jumped out and promptly burst into tears on Alex's shoulder...the poor thing.  I still don't think it has sunk in though.  I still think I'm going to have a couple of days off and then come back to work.

Anyway.

Once I started crying, so did a lot of other people...especially Kaori.  She was more upset than any of us because we'd all be leaving her behind (oh boy do I know how that feels).  Mum and Rowan hung around (seeing as the park was closing) and I went to chnage into my flip flops.  Then, with some help from Rowan to give me a lift up, and Mum watching out for managers, I hung my boots in the FastPass Distribution area, and got a picture of it!  I have no idea how long they'll stay up there, but it has a nice sentimental feeling to it.

So after finally saying goodbye to the Jungle (I reckon I'll be back a couple of times before we leave for the cruise!) we headed towards Main Street and did a little shopping!
It still doesn't feel like I've left work, sitting here at Port Orleans, and I'm not sure if it will ever sink in.  I can't imagine what it will be like when I get home.  I don't want to cry!

Anyway we're off to the Animal Kingdom Lodge tomorrow (yay Disney luxury) and I have to go see Dean, and take some stuff to Ona and move out of Vista :(  That will be sad, I just hope we can fit all my stuff in the car!

Night!

25.12.2006 Merry Christmas!

So today is Christmas Day, and so I woke up fairly early (for me anyway) and set about opening my Christmas stocking hehe.  I got some chocolate which was much needed.  Anyway so I headed off to work to see Chief Namee with a Christmas hat on (it really surprised me on my first cruise!)  The guests were the same as yesterday so I'm not going to go into that again, except we need a sign out the front that says 'If you can't understand English GO AWAY!'  That would sort them out.  You don't know how horrible it is to have to spiel to people who don't have a clue what you are saying and talk over you!  I feel like slapping them.

Anyway I finished work at 12.30am, a lot earlier than some of the others!  Mum and Rowan had come and seen me while I was working, and Mum was going to pick me up at Vista when I got back.  Kaori and I were going to get the bus, but then Kaori bumped into one of her friends and she gave us a lift home!  So Mum was waiting there when we got back, so I ran back to my apartment to get my bag and then ran all the way back.  Rowan han't come because apparently he was asleep on the floor of our room, so Mum and I found our way to Coronado Springs.  Our room is quite near the back of the resort, but the room is nice enough and the decor isn't all that bad.  Anyway it's my day off tomorrow and we're off to Epcot!  Night xx

24.12.2006: Not again!

So today was absolutely horrible.  The lines were so long it was unbelievable and it was just so annoying!  I mean, here we are, Christmas Eve, and people are so miserable!  Smile people, it's Christmas!  So I got on my little boat and was prepared to make people laugh so much that they gave me hundreds of GSF cards, and what happends???  They don't speak a word of English!  No one, not one!  I might as well have been talking to the fake animals!  So let's just say it was a very stressful day and I was very glad to go home.  Oh and I checked my schedule and they've given me the 26th off!  I am so pleased because now I can sing and Mum can video me.  They come tomorrow and I'm working until 12.30am (at least it's not 3.45am!!  The park is open until 3am, crazy Disney).  Anyway I am going to go to bed and prepare for the long hard slog tomorrow.  Night night!  I hope you've all been good!

23.12.2006: What a weird day!

It has certainly been a weird and long day!  It started out with me heading to Epcot this morning to go get Princess autographs for my map.  In fact I didn't stay there long.  I got pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Chip and Dale in their Where Dreams Come True costumes, and also with Mary Poppins!  I couldn't really be bothered to wait for World Showcase to open so I took the bus over MGM Studios!  I headed over to the Streets of America and got the Pink Power Ranger's autograph, and also got Kim Possible and Ron Stopable, as well as Jojo and Goliath!  I then decided to go to Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage, as it's the only thing I have never done!

I then headed over to MK to do some pin trading.  At 4.15 I started work and this is where it went weird!  Everything went fine up until about 8pm, and there I was, in the Val just going past the gorilla camp and the temperature gauge just shot up and the boat went really really slow.  I thought it was going to die, but it kept chugginig along.  So I was pulling into dock and smoke was coming out of the stack.  Erm...oops.  I think I nearly blew up a boat!  Haha.  So we pulled that off.  Then the Lolly had died at dock, so when that came around again we took that off.  Then the throttle handle (well really the little red knob on the end of it) on the Nellie pinged off into the river (and it won't reverse!) so we took that off.  Michael decided that as we were on a roll, that we were to pull the Millie off because it had a flat tire.  Haha what a good night!  So that left about 10 of us with nothing to do.  Lots of people got ER'd but I didn't because I want the money!  So I completely cleaned the breakroom.  As in wiped everything down, cleaned out beneath the lockers (and found a lot of lost property) so now I'm really really tired.  Good job I don't start until 3 tomorrow!

Anyway Alaina booked Mum and Rowan in today (saves me having to go over there) and upgraded them (although she's not sure if it will stay that way) to a water view.  Woo!  Anyway time to go to bed.  Night xx

17.12.2006: Crazy Day!

Today has been quite frankly, manic.  This morning I woke up at 9.30am and proceeded to check my work schedule for Christmas week.  They have scheduled me for 6 days (which they're not allowed to do because of my Visa restrictions, so I would have to see my managers at work).  They also didn't give me the 26th off so I will have to go beg for that or call in personal that day.  So then I caught the bus to MGM where I was going to hang out with Andy!  So we went to ToT first to get fastpasses, and then headed over to do the Great Movie Ride...and got to see the cowboy scene rather than the gangster scene!  Anyway after that we headed over to ToT and rode that, and also got a fastpass for RnR Coaster.  We then decided to go to the Backlot Tour.  We volunteered to do the Harbour Attack scene.  It was so funny, we were the crazy deck crew....and we got two guest compliments on our acting afterwards so we couldn't have been that bad!  We then caught the bus to MK and used one of my rider switches on Big Thunder Mountain, and then I headed over to work.

Work was quite fun!  I was only at the jungle for two and a half hours before I was bumped out for parade.  The crews were great (despite there being an hour long queue and our fastpass line was out the door and up the hill because pirates went 101, so we had all their re-ads, and Splash went 101 so we were taking all their Fastpasses.  Mania!  Anyway we then got bumped out for parade.  I was rolling on the riverside (woo!)  Whoever rolled up for day parade today was  useless, they didn't do it tight enough so as I was unrolling the rope, it kept hitting me.  Grrrrr.  The first parade was crazy.  We had sat down and was watching as the parade came up to the Liberty Bell, when we saw guests on the other side in the parade path.  Someone in Frontierland had dropped a rope and there were guests all over the parade route.  So the parade captain practically yelled at us to help clear the streets (in a nice way!) and the guests just looked at us like we were aliens.  Basically we were having to shove people behind ropes before we got run over!  Argh.

Second parade was much better though.  It was definitely less crowded, and the only problem we had was a lost child (or rather lost parents!) be luckily he was over at baby care, so I'm very glad we found him!  Over than that the parade went without a hitch!

I then came back to jungle and got ER'd (woo!) and Brendan and I hurried up to the managers office so he can take my shift.  That's right, hopefully they will let him take my shift on the 26th!  I'm so pleased woo!

Anyway I don't work until 5.30pm tomorrow, might do some more updating.  Night xxx

7.12.2006: So, so cold!

Today has been a very long day.  I got up at 7am so I could go to a presentation about Adventures by Disney.  Adventures by Disney is basically like a tour company that takes you on adventures around the world with Disney tour guides.  I'm very interested in this because they do them in the UK, so it's a good chance to stay with the company!  Obviously I wouldn't be able to do it yet  because they haven't set it all up in the UK yet, so we'll have to wait and see what happens over the next year.  So that finished at about 10.30am (I had gone with Colin, had met Nitsa and Dave from work there, so I wasn't on my own!) and I headed over to Port Orleans to catch the bus to Epcot.  I was going to the Salsa sale (the first day was today) but once I had walked all the way over to the parking lot it was in, there was a two hour queue to get in.  No way I was waiting that long, I can go another day, there's nothing I want that much!  So I had to wait in the long queue to get my bags checked just to get on the monorail (I hate security sometimes!) and took that over to MK.  Once inside I wandered around a bit, went to Columbia Harbour House for lunch (I felt like fish!) and then headed backstage to go to evil Property Control.  Didn't spend much but I did get some more mouse ears...I think I've got Ona's bug about collecting Mickey ears.  Oh well, only 50 cents each!  I then headed back to the park and rode Jacobs boat before going to get ready for work.

Work was ok I guess.  It was so cold tonight, and on the one day I don't bring my coat!  It was warm during the day you see.  Work was work as usual.  The guests were pretty good tonight, shame it can't be said for the skippers.  Drew got annoyed because we loaded two people on his boat.  I'm sorry, but they had been waiting for 10 minutes and the boat in front of him and behind him had gone live, whilst he had gone dead.  That's just him though, getting in a huff because he has to work!  Grrrr.  Anyway he cheered up a bit because he got an ER for 11.15 (same time I got out...woo!)  It was a good laugh though, as it was MVMCP we were dead.  Also Cassie and Robert came to ask us if we wanted the 11th and 12th off (do I look rich?) because we are no longer opening for the Christmas parties..about time too.  I said I couldn't afford it though so they are just making our shifts earlier instead.  It will be nice to start early and finish early for once!  Anyway so I came home and have just had some of my birthday cake and some milk.  Yummy.  I have class tomorrow and my final exam so I should sleep.  Night xxx

24.11.2006: No Strollers for Me

That's right  some people got put on doing strollers ar Pirates for hours...and I had to do normal rotation.  No fair!  I love strollers.  I rule at them!  Anyway I started work at 1pm.  It was a lot warmer than it had been over the past few days, but bascially means I brought all my winter gear for nothing.  Well I did use it when it got dark, but up until then it was warm.  Nothing much happened to be honest.  The crews were so so, except for this one crew towards the end of the night.  They were amazing!  They laughed so much it made me laugh, which never happens and means they were a fantastic crew.  Very few guests are able to do that to skippers, but it's very nice when they do.  The only problem is that you expect the other crews to be the same.  Which of course they weren't.  So I got bumped out at 11pm...so I stood around for 20m minutes because I couldn't clock out until 11.20pm.  So I rearranged the board with the names on it (so it was all pretty and in order) and basically just slacked.  So right now it's gone 12am and I have to be up for day parade tomorrow.  Night night xx

17.11.2006: Mickey's Not So Very Merry Christmas Party

Yeah Yeah I know it's Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but we'll get to that later.  So I started this morning off with heading over to Epcot to take part in the GTC training for Candlelight.  I have no idea what GTC stands for but I know GTC's are the ones who look after the guest choirs when they come to perform.  So today they were basically training, and we were used as bodies to help the with this.  They had to practice lining us up in height order and putting us on the stand, and then we headed over to the Garden Theatre.  The stage is awesome!  There are so many lights I think I might melt, and the steps are so close together, I sure if someone fainted they wouldn't go anywhere!  It was fun anyway, and we all got a free theme park ticket at the end, meaning I won't have to pay for one when I finish my program!

So then I trundled off to work, headed to costuming to get my christmas hat and scarf for parade, and headed to the Jungle (buying a salad on the way!)  Jungle was ok, I had pretty good crews the whole time.  For the first hour all I spent doing was bringing up boats so people could cycle them, way to spend a lot of time doing nothing!  I then took a break and came back to find that my rotation was Dock Assist, boat, break.  Awesome!  Another boat was added, but for a lot of the time it was being used as a training boat, so we didn't have to get in it!  So basically I stood around for ages, sorting strollers and helping dock assist and stuff.

Then it was time to be bumped out for parade!  A lot of people got pulled to stay at Jungle, but I think it took so much effort to get my shift back, they weren't about to take it away again!  First parade was great.  I was on the HOP riverside, so practically did nothing all night, and the guests were great about staying behind the lines!  It is such a great parade and very long (although I still prefer the Halloween one!).  So after we rolled up we went back and sat in the Main Street Break Room (way too cold to stay in the jungle one) and then headed back to the Liberty Bridge to watch the fireworks.  They were so cool.  I love the music and everything!  I really need to buy the soundtrack.  Anyway, so then we rolled out for second parade.  Definitely not as crowded as the first, but I really wish I hadn't helped Dave out at wheelchair.  One party came along (there were three of them) and showed me their Guest Assistant Card.  They didn't have anyone in a wheelchair and so I told them that usually the area was only reserved for wheelchairs and ECV's, but as this parade wasn't busy, they were very welcome to sit in the area.  So I went off to clear my crosswalk (not that it needed clearing).  Then I was standing with Dave and Nicolina, chatting, and the woman in this party comes up to the rope and asks my name.  So obviously I tell her, and she proceeds to have a go at me, saying she's going to Guest Relations to complain about me, saying that disabled people don't necessarily need wheelchairs, and then told me basically her whole medical history, and that of the guy who was with her (didn't really need to know that thank you very much!) and kept on going and going, with Dave and Nicolina still there.  She didn't even give me a chance to apologise or anything.  So she finally stopped (really thought she was going to hit me, wish she had as well, could have gotten her chucked out, besides she was shorter than me, hardly intimidating, if a little scary) and we walked away, with the other two backing me up.  Dave said he was about to say the same thing to them.  I mean come on, I let them sit there didn't I?  What was their problem?  I was just doing what we're supposed to do.  Anyway that's the last time I do or help wheelchair.  Totally ruined my night for me; kind of wished I had been pulled to stay in jungle.  It's people like this who can totally ruin a day. Grrr.  Anyway it's late and I should go to bed, day parade tomorrow...hopefully it will go smoothly...I better not get wheelchair!  Night xx

12.11.2006: Argh stupid schedulers!

Yeah so I had to work at 1.45pm today.  Before I went to work I checked on the portal that my schedule had been changed due to Washington.  Surprise surprise it hadn't.  I was so annoyed because I had been told it would all be sorted out.  Argh.  So I went into work early and went to see a manager about it.  She told me that Jeff had spoken to her and she had told the scheduler, but I now had two points and had been scheduled to have this Friday and Saturday off.  But the manager told me she'd had the points taken off and my shifts given back (I really want then because I have Christmas parade this Friday!  Woo!).  So I felt much better having spoken to her.  So off to day parade I went.  Everything else went smoothly; my crews were really good, maybe because I was in such a good mood.  Anyway I got out at 10.15pm so now I'm not doing much.  I have tomorrow off so who knows what I'll do.  Anyway going to watch TV.   Night xxx

7.11.2006: 6 Hours Again!

Yes another short shift for me.  Nothing much happened, except I was closing again which hasn't happened in a long time.  It was fun though.  During the day there had been a  lot of new skips who we didn't know, but the closing team was all the usuals and so we got closed quickly, with no coordinator as usual!  Anyway I'm off tomorrow.  Night xx

6.11.2006: Argh portal problems!

Well, I had an early shift today, only 6 hours long: 10.45am till 4.45pm.  Also, show sign up's for candlelight began today, so I got up all early and got to work at 9.20am, ready for signing up at 9.30am (Alto's scheduled time).  So, after David had frightened the life out of me, I logged onto the portal and brought up my candlelight page.  And there was a big note saying they were having problems with the portal and sign up's will be tomorrow.  Grrrr how annoying.  I got up all early to do this and it didn't work.  Oh well, I went to hang out at the Jungle before I started work.  They were filming for a guests with disabilities...they hired paid actors...how rude.  Anyway so I started my shift and it went very quickly...all the afternoon CP's came in and thought it was weird that I was leaving early, but whatever, I decided to go to rehearsals!  So I did!  Number 10 as well, I'm now officially a member of the 2006 Candlelight Cast Choir.  I found out that CM's can get t-shirts at Company D, but choir members can have 'Cast Choir' put on them, and our names.  How cool is that?  So Jennifer and I are planning to meet tomorrow and practice (she's an Alto1 and I'm and Alto 2) so we can get some practice in.  Anyway I'm going to bed. xxx

5.11.2006: So yeah I was supposed to clean...

Ok so I just wrote it all up and then deleted it...so here's a run through of what I wrote because I can't be bothered to write it again:

  • very short shift, only 6 hours!
  • Parade was horrible...stupid guests saying stupid things and accusing me of saying things I didn't say.
  • Got a GSF card for receiving a guest letter...hopefully I'll get to see it!
  • Left at 7.45pm, managed to get the bus home very quickly.
  • Supposed to clean, but never got around to it, but I'll have to do it as we have inspection on Tuesday.
  • I'm off to watch Rent in a minute.
  • Don't even know if I'm going to Washington DC yet.  I haven't heard anything and I'm supposed to leave on Thursday.  Dean assumed everything would be sorted by now...I don't even have those days off yet and I'm certainly not calling in!
  • Going to my 10th rehearsal tomorrow [insert great applause here] and then Ona's to hang out with her and Jorden!
  • Night xx

4.11.2006: Ale House

Well I didn't start until 3.45pm today...how weird is that?  It was a good day anyway!  There were some very random people I didn't know working...maybe they were all the new trainees who had just checked out.  Anyway one of them didn't bump into my boat so I had to go round a third time while he stood on the dock for 10 minutes...idiot!  So yeah anyway...I was being bumped out at 9.35pm...a really stupid time because we pair up at 9 I spent half an hour dock assisting.  That was great though because I got to go on Jen's last trip where she threw her boots overboard.  She's going to Guest Relations at Epcot (lucky!) and gets to wear the plaid I want to wear so much!  It was very teary though, even though I wasn't one of her trainees.  We'll miss you Jen!

So after work Devin, Randy, Jeremy, Josh, Sergio and I threw ourselves into a car and headed to Ale House to meet up with AT peeps (no longer ATT because the treehouse doesnt have a greeter anymore...ha!).  There were also pirate, jungle and mansion people there...so AD/LIB pretty much dominated the place!  It was a lot of fun though!  I had loaded fries and I'm going to take my leftovers to work tomorrow!

Anyway it's late and I have day parade tomorrow....night xx

3.11.2006: 2007 Ambassadors!

This morning Ona and I caught the 8.45am bus to go over to Epcot to watch the 2007 WDW Ambassadors being announced.  It was pretty cool and I got some awesome pictures!  Some of the guests had no idea what was going on, and the crowd was full of the finalists work mates all with banners and plaques with their faces on!  It was all very exciting.  A couple of the girls forgot what they were going to say, so I'm kind of glad they didn't get it!  So the two new ambassadors are two guys (whose speeches were awesome so I think they really deserve it!)  One was from Animal Kingdom Operations, and the other one was from the Disney Institute.  Anyway it was a great morning so I'm glad I went!

I then came home and got changed for work...then headed to my very short shift (it's going to be two very boring weeks with short hours!).  It was fun, as usual.  Not much happened and we all had a great laugh.  Anyway right now I'm going to eat my Chik-fil-A...Yabom and I went there after getting off the bus...and now we're going to watch Finding Neverland...I've never seen it but apparently it will make me cry....great lol.

Anyway laters...bye bye xx

31.10.2006: Happy Halloween!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay last MNSSHP tonight.  As much as I like it, I'm glad I don't have to do treats anymore.  Anyway.  Today I started work at day parade.  They must think I love it, and to be honest, I do now it's not so hot!  After parade I then headed over to the jungle to do all of 2 hours and 30 minutes of work there.  I love watching all the people come in their costumes to the jungle.

After all that I went and got dressed for the Halloween parade.  I'm so glad I got to do the last one instead of treats.  The first parade went very well.  It was very packed but I got the HOP crosswalk so it was fairly easy.  I just wish guests would listen to me, I don't like screaming at them.  So we rolled up parade, then headed down to the Mouseketeeria for something to eat.  We also went to watch Hallowishes for the last time.  I love those fireworks...we were all lined up along the bridge.

Then came the second parade, the last one for this year.  So the beginning started off just fine...until it was time for the pirate float.  As the first lot of characters were coming past (Wendy, Snow White, Dopey, Peter Pan, Aladdin etc) character attendents came running down telling them to stay to the left and the little machine that sits at the Liberty Square bridge (that I never knew what it was used for) came racing past (really it was going very fast).  So we sat there for about 10 minutes wondering what was going on, and someone told us that the Pirate float had lost steering at the Splash Bridge.  Oh dear.  So up it came, going a little fast, and we cheered and clapped.  It didn't have any music either so the pirates in front weren't dancing.  Oh well.  The rest of the parade went fine, except they had to stop a bit at the Liberty bridge, no idea why.  It was a little sad because it was the last pride, but I was so glad to go home.  Now I'm off to bed!  Day tomorrow! Yay! Night xxx

30.10.2006: A whole jungle shift!!! Argh

Yeah my whole entire shift today was at the Jungle.  That meant that the jungle was open for MNSSHP again.  I don't know why we open, we were dead the whole night.  It was a great crew closing though so we had a lot of fun!  I'm so glad tomorrow is the last night though, so not liking treats or late nights at the jungle.  It's fine when there's people here, but otherwise we're going around dead all the time.  Anyway day parade and Halloween parade tomorrow!!! Lots of fun!  Night xx

29.10.2006: Parade!

Yay my shift today started off with day parade!  It was so much fun, as usual I love day parade.  Then it was back to the jungle to work some more.  Nothing interesting really happened so I don't have much to say.  It's quite late now so I'm off to bed.  I start work tomorrow at 12pm and have a 12 hour and 45 minute shift, so I'll need my sleep!  Night xxx

28.10.2006: Wooooooooooork

Yes, another day of work today.  Just a short 6 hour shift, I seem to have a lot of those coming up.  Didn't do much, the guests were quite good and all in all it was a good shift, even if it went a tad slow.  Anyway nothing much for me to do now, so I'm going to watch TV.  Night xxx

27.10.2006: Usual day at work.

Yep today was just a normal day..one that I haven't had in ages!  I did day parade and then headed back to Jungle.  Not much went on to be honest, so I don't have much to say.  Oh except the Wanda's lift wouldn't work again.  That's 3 times in 2 weeks!  Each time we've had to take the boat back into storage and have them get the guest out!  Argh.  Stupid boat.  So anyway, nothing to say so I'm off....toodles xx

24.10.2006: Last treats!

Yup today is my last treats shift!  I am so pleased.  Anyway, day parade came first.  That was as usual, slightly hot but it was fun.  I love that parade.  Then I had my couple of hours at the jungle.  They asked me to stay back and help close...of course I said yes!  The less I was at treats, the better.  So once again I was in the Veranda.  Got moved outside eventually because some people can't cope with the cold .  They should have worn a turtleneck!  Duh!!!  Devin was at the party that night and so she came to get candy and we took loads of pictures.  So much fun!  I'm so glad I have tomorrow off.  Kinda tired right now.  Anyway so I'm off to bed.  Night xx

23.10.2006: Yay Halloween Parade!

So today I was supposed to have just a 6 hour shift; 12pm till 6pm.  Thats a really weird shift, they don't asually give out ones like that!  So anyway, there I am at the dock box waiting to clock in, and Erica mumbles something about yet another parade person calling in.  So what does a fabulous cast member like me do?  Offer to take a parade shift of course!  It was so much fun.  I got to extend AND do parade.  Woo!  We had a great team as well, so it was so much fun!  Anyway I have day parade tomorrow so I'm off to bed.  Night xx

22.10.2006: PAC again!

They just love giving me day parade.  I love them for it, but give me night parade...NIGHT PARADE!  Pretty please?  Anyway it was fun!  We a whole trolley of new pactivities now, including things like hopscotch, egg and spoon race, and bubbles!  I love bubbles so that's what I chose to do.  The kids love them too, it's so cute to watch them chase the bubbles.

Jungle wasn't all that exciting.  The guests were slightly better than usual, but it's still hotter than it should be for this time of year!  Anyway dinner time.  Toodles xx

21.10.2006: No party for moi.

Yeah  I was supposed to go to a Halloween Party and Steve, Chris and Paul's house, but in the end very few people went.  We were all just too tired after work, and really it was too far away (right up by the airport!).  So anyway, not much to say.  Had day parade today so that was fun and did jungle for a bit.  Not much else really.  Night xx

20.10.2006: Soooooooooooo tired.

Yup, mega tired having gone to HHN last night and having to go to class this morning, then working a really long shift.  Argh!  I nearly fell asleep in class this morning I was so tired, but oh well.  It was interesting anyway, I really like this class.  So after class I had to meet Lydia...she's helping to organise my trip to Washington DC.  Did I mention this?  I don't think so so here's what's happening.  About a week ago I got an email from Dean Wallin (my contact at Central Michigan University) asking if I would go to Washington DC to speak about the College Program (my positive experiences) at a NAFSA conference (no idea what it stands for!).  So of course I said I would.  They would arrange everything, including time off work.  So I had to meet with Lydia to discuss what was going to happen and suchlike.  There are 3 other people going so it will be fun!  So long as I get that time off.  Then Lydia took me to work.  A little early but then I got to check my email and eat and stuff, before I started work at 1pm.  Until 12.45am.  Boo.  It was MNSSHP again and I was working straight jungle.  To be honest, once the pary started we had absolutely no one at the jungle.  They probably didn't even know it was open.  We had the odd boatful after parade and the fireworks but that was about it.  Anyway I am so tired now I''m off to bed.  Night x

17.10.2006: Oh my legs hurt

Yup they do.  It's been such a long shift today.  I started at the Jungle at 11.15 all the way to 7.05pm.  It was a good shift...it's not too hot anymore which I love!  But that wasn't it.  I was asked to close Jungle, then went to do treats at the Adventureland Veranda again.  It was ok as we had lots of jungle people there...and Jack was our treat runner.  It wasn't as busy either so we had lots of time to play around with the characters.  Plus I got some candy at the end from the managers.  Woo!  Kaori, Laura and I only just got the bus, but we got a seat which is good.  Anyway...day off tomorrow except I have to be up kinda early to take my costume back.  Night xx

16.10.2006: Ah

Early shift today .  It was ok except I was really tired and we had a really long queue right from the word go.  Bleugh.  Anyway...it was kinda fun...I like a lot of the non CP's so we had a great time messing around.  That also meant that I didn't have to do MNSSHP and got to go home at 7.45!  So here I am with nothing really to do.  Oh except Devin is coming over in a minute to watch High School Musical.  As we've just been to Wendy's...mmmmmmmmmmm.  Might be a slight problem though because Yabom is watching Narnia.  Oh well.  We can watch both.  I should go.  Toodles!

15.10.2006: Day parade again!

Yup had day parade again.  I was at the popcorn crosswalk on diamond side this time.  Yabom and I had a great chat with a little girl called Nikki (her brother Mason was fast asleep) and she gave us each a pin she had made herself (one of those things you put in the oven and it shrinks).  I got a Cinderella one, which now has pride of place on my bag!

I danced again at parade (all for one of the security guards, because she asked if I would do it again hehe) and then I wandered off to Jungle.  Typical shift really...we had lots of fun and I finished at 10pm! Woo!  I didn't close...again...yay!

14.10.2006: All booked!

Yay I am so happy...ok a little tired too but absolutely thrilled!  I finally got the last part of our holiday booked!  3 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge...woo!  I was on the phone to IT services (complaining again) and the guy was trying to find out what was wrong..when suddenly I clicked 'book' and it actually worked! Woo!  Yeah so all is well.

Then I went off to work.  I had day parade today...so danced as usual.  I rolled riverside (and didn't miss the clip this time!) and basically had lots of fun.  Work was...ok as usual.  Nothing exciting happened.  Anyway I'm going to bed now as I'm still tired from yesterday....night xx

13.10.2006: Haunted Mansion Tour! Beware...contains spoilers.

Yay I got on it!!!  Having only had 3 hours of sleep, I woke up at 5am (to all three alarms and a text from Mum) and was at the VW Pavilion by 6.45am.  This was in hope that I got on as an extra.  And I did!  They had to turn one guy away (as we could only have 13...bit spooky seeing as it's Friday 13th and a Haunted Mansion Tour).  Anyway so off we went to MK and stood in front of Mansion until 7am.  Then Ginger and Laura (our facilitators) came out to start the tour!  We started by going in the back way (in other words the wheelchair entrance) and headed towards the lobby.  Both stretch rooms were open, so it was very cool to see the Hidden Mickey (but I couldn't take pictures...boohoo).  We then went to examine the stretch rooms.  Many of you may not know that it's not an elevator...like the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland...the room actually stretches upwards!  I didn't realise that the gargoyles go up as well! I'm always too busy mouthing the ghost host!  We also got a good look at the pictures....they're rolled up and as the rooom stretches...they unroll.  So then it was on to the queue line...the bats on the stantions are made or brass...they look so cool, and have to be replaced every few years because people wear them down.  So then we got to walk through the ride!  It's so weird with all the work lights on.  We got to the library...and the busts are so weird up close..they're not actual busts...they are like jelly molds lol.  I can't reall describe it.  And the books aren't real (except for the moving ones) even though I swear they look it during the ride!  We got to walk down the endless corridor (not so endless though lol).  Only one of the doors works...and that leads to the maintanence office.  I kept jumping at the pop up heads....grrrrrrrrrr.  So we also got to see Madam Leotta up close....when you put your hand over the projection...the blank face looks very creepy .  We also got to go down to the ballroom!  It's very neat how they make the ghosts....but I won't spoil that for you.  We got to have our picture taken next to the organ (which they will put up in the break room...I'll get someone to get me a copy).  The tableware is actually made in England...and is worth a lot of money!  So we got told a lot of things....it will be strange going on the ride and thinking about what I know.

We then left to go back to VW.  I had to go to class (was an hour late, but hey..this tour was for my assignment) and tried very hard not to fall asleep (extremely difficult) and then I headed off to work.  For a 9 hour shift.  Oh well it went well...at least I wasn't closing, and I got two GSF cards (ok they were from September...but still).  So I came home and now I'm going to bed...night night xx

10.10.2006: I'm a Star!

Yes I am.  I walked into work this morning, and was on my way to day parade, when Jack called me over and said my entire spiel was on video google!  And apparently it was the best cruise they've had (the people who took it that is).  Woo!  Just go to www.video.google.com and type in 'Disney World Jungle Cruise' and I'm the third one down (the last one I think!).  Anyway.  Yes I had day parade again and once again I rolled.  Diamond side this time, which is a lot easier then River.  It went well anyway...I still don't like Frontierland parade people..can't roll up so save their lives.

So I went back to Jungle for a total of 3 hours.  For the first hour I did nothing, which really annoyed Michael who said I should have called him to find out what he wanted me to do (hey don't have a go at me!  I wasn't the only one) but it's not like we didn't do anything; we were both dock assist so basically were doing all the things that the unloads didn't have time to do because so many boats were coming in (and we had a lot of people who needed to stay in wheelchairs so we needed to ask them questions and tell them what was going on).  Anyway, that made Micheal a little argh so anyway we got into marathon boats and cleared the line in one go.  Some people overeact sometimes.  I then go the nice surprise of doing Halloween parade!  That's right, I was pulled from treats to go do parade (where I rolled the diamond side again, it was either that or wheelchair.. I hate wheelchair, I'm just not horrible enough!)  Of course I love that parade, can't wait to film it on Thursday!  I then could have gone home, but decided to stay, so I replaced someone at treats.  I was only doing treats for half an hour and had so much fun (as Jack was our treat runner and he is hilarious!) and now I'm home!  Day off tomorrow so I'm going to have a lie in.  Night xx

9.10.2006: Eugh

Early shift at the Jungle today .  Started at 10.15 (having been on the phone to reservations today, who put me in contact with IT services, who said they would phone me back when the problem was resovled...they better not phone me while I'm at work).  So anyway, it was a straight Jungle shift.  It was really cold this morning, some people were even wearing their jungle jackets (not me though, it wasn't that cold).  We already had a very long line, but we got that down in no time.

I finished at 6pm and rushed off to the front of the park to get the bus to Port Orleans Riverside so I could walk over to Event Productions for Candlelight Rehearsals!  I was going as standby, but the 7.30 rehearsal never fills up so of course I got in.  It was a fun rehearsal, and then I got the bus back to Vista.  I then ran back to my apartment, grabbed my bag with the wheels, and rushed off to Walmart. I was desperately in need of food, and now I have the means to make my meals everyday!  I spent $80  but got so much food I think I'll be fine until I leave!  I can also make some pretty awesome salads too...mmmm I love romain lettuce.

Anyway, now it is very late, because I got the Treehouse bus to Chatham, then the Epcot bus to Vista (instead of waiting an hour for the bus from Walmart) and those bags were heavy, so I'm tired.  Night xx

8.10.2006: More PAC!

So basically, I had the same shift as yesterday.  Today at day parade I rolled (as I didn't want to do anything else!) on the riverside .  Hmmm rolling up day parade on riverside, is a lot different to rolling up night parade on the riverside.  Lets just say I almost forgot to clip the ropes together.  Oopsie!  Ah so I went back to the Jungle, and had the usual fun that I have.  Not much to say really, it was a normal day at the Jungle.  Night xx

7.10.2006: PAC again.

Yeah, they like giving me day PAC.  Today I was on the bridge, telling people they couldn't cross.  You really need to be feisty there (which I don't think I am!) because people get unhappy!  And even though the crosswalk is very small, people love to crowd it.  Oh well lots of raising voices occured!  Also, where we have to stand is very close to the parade...I thought I was going to get run over!

Ah well then it was back to the Jungle.  Usual shift there, and it was fun, as we had fun people working.  The guests were ok as well, except it was really busy, and we did have to open up queues E and F, which we haven't done in a few weeks!  Ah well, here comes the busy season.  MK was open until 12am today, but I finished at 9.45...woo!

6.10.2006: No class!

That's right, no class today!  I still had to hand in my essay (which I did) and then trundled off to work.  Tonight was MNSSHP that I worked.  Treats again.  Anyway the Jungle was fun, kind of, but I didn't enjoy treats all that much.  This time I wasn't at the Adventureland Veranda, I was oppsite Pirates at The Pirate and the Parrot.  There were only 4 positions here (as there are no characters) and it was fairly easy, but rather boring.  Oh well.  I'm scheduled for treats (again) next Tuesday so lets hope that one is better!  Anyway it's very late now and I have to be back at work at 1.45pm tomorrow.  Night xx

4.10.2006: Dun dun dun

So today was the day that I picked up Yabom's shift so I could go to the party on Monday.  I was still on a high all day today because of my guest relations surprise (and practically told everybody!).  Nothing much happened.  I started at 2.15 and finished at 8.15.  Easy shift eh?  So now tomorrow is my day off and I can't wait!  I really want another one off   Anyway bed time.  Night xx

3.10.2006: I heart Guest Relations

Sooooooo my extremely horrible day was made amazing today.  But, lets start at the beginning.  I got up this morning, not planning to do anything until the last minute when I went to work...but then I decided to go to MK to video 'Dream Along With Mickey'.  I adore this show, and once again I was near to tears because I looooooooooooove the music.  So anyway, I headed over to Adventureland to see Jack Sparrows Pirate Tutorial!  The guy who is friends with Jack looks so much like him!  Anyway it was really funny....I'll video it some other time.  So I was going to film the High School Musical Pep Rally, but decided to head over to the Disney University to buy another MNSSHP ticket for the 12th.  Turns out they don't do discounts that day, so I decided I would go to Guest Relations and pay full price.  This time I could go on my own and do everything I couldn't do last night.  Plus not drop my camera and video the entertainment.  So I talk to the girl, and I tell her whole story about how I went last night and the tape was faulty and whatnot.  So she takes my card (really wish I had gotten her name, but it was two late when I realised what had happened) and gives me the ticket (one of the nice new ones!) and off I go back to the Jungle.  So as I walk back I take out my receipt to see what the damage was....and everything says 0.  Yes as in...I wasn't charged...as in she comp'd me ticket so I wouldn't have to pay.  Talk about a Magical Moment!  She new I was a CM too because I had my ID on (oopsie I know, but I had come out of the backstage door next to City Hall and was onstage for like 5 minutes) and I had told her I couldn't get any CM discount tickets because they weren't doing them for that day.  I'm just so happy that I have prove that dreams come true for CM's too .

So my day was made so much better.  So much better in fact that I agreed to do a marathon boat when I got to jungle .  Infact, it turned out to be so much fun.  For those of you who don't know....a marathon boat is when you don't get put into rotation, but pull up a boat from out back and bascially stay on the boat for however long is needed.  You go round 6 times, then get a half hour break, then go back out and do 6 more runs, then break etc etc...usually to get the line down...which I think was my reason to do it...that or they had nothing else for me to do!

So that's what I did.  I went round 12 times in total (then two more when I got put in rotation) and loved it!  The guests were...well...ok, but nonetheless...I wouldn't mind doing it again!

Anyway, I've just finished my Wendy's (I no longer get emotional going there LOL) and am going to finish watching Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone with Yabom and Alaina.  Night night people xxx

1.10.2006: Happy Birthday Walt Disney World

Yes, today is Walt Disney World's 35th birthday (well technically MK's 35th but I won't be picky).  We all got to wear birthday badges (not guest ones) saying 'Happy 35th Birthday Walt Disney World'.  We had a lot of fun with those...wishing each other happy birthday and saying we all looked good for 35....Haha.

The guests were ok.  My first crew was amazing...I mean, the best crew I have had since I started at the Jungle...they found everything hilarious...the only problem was that all the other crews were horrible and just bleugh.

Oh well..I got out at 9.30 tonight.  They wanted me to extend but I have to be up at 7am tomorrow to go to Animal Kingdom for opening so I can ride Everest before the queue gets to 70 minutes and above.

Oh also today it was... 'The Official, Unofficial cruise through the jungle with an animal on your shoulder'. Yeah, we had the same coordinator as yesterday, and he brought in a snake and a monkey (not real, obviously) and I got to take both with me at some point during the evening.  I christened them Marty the Monkey and a guest named the snake Jake.  Hehe.  Oh the fun...that coordinator closes a few more times this week so we are going to have some more themed nights!  Anyway up early tomorrow..I have to go finish cleaning, we have inspection as well and of course the place is a mess.  Night! xx

30.9.2006: Disney Dreams Come True!

Yay day parade again.  Before work (having been woken up by Mai... grrrrrrrrrrrr ) I brushed up on the lyrics so when I did parade I could sing along to it all....Chris joined in with me, and we did  most of the actions too.  My crosswalk was popcorn, riverside...I kept telling everyone to stay behind the lines, and they did, except for this one woman who looked at me as though she was daring me to challenge her...so I just smiled sweetly and told her she needed to be right behind the lines, as we needed to keep the crosswalk open in case of emergency. HA!

So then I trundled off to the Jungle...boo.  I was leaving at 10 though, and the park was closing at 11 so I was really pleased I wasn't closing.  Thank you newbies!

Also it was 'Talk in Third Person Day'...according to our coordinator...that was extremely funny!

29.9.2006: Class, Jungle and Treat Trail!

Arggggggggggh this whole 'Let's schedule Louisa for 12 hours of work on her class day because she asked for it' scheme is tiring me out!  So yes I went to class this morning.  It was very good, I like it a lot more than some of the classes the others are taking.  As it's about experiential learning, we actually have to try out these learning theories...so today we got to colour and do puzzles!  Can't remember why...c'mon it's been a long day.

So I basically went straight off to work (having just about enough time to make tuna and pasta...mmmmmmmmmmm).  I started my day with Jungle.  It was quite fun actually...the guests were fairly good and there were a lot of great skippers there.  So after Jungle it was treat trail time.  I was in the Adventureland Veranda again   I wanted to be at Riverboat so I could at least hear the parade.  Oh well.  They did a really weird rotation process this time, which mucked things up and everything got confusing with regards to breaks and positions.  So in the end Ashley and I stayed on handing out candy (as opposed to greeter) until it was time to go.  The only thing was when those barrels get empty I have to bend down a long way to get the candy...so now my back really hurts .  Oh well.  Parade tomorrow so I should go to bed!

28.9.2006: Argh early shift.

So maybe this whole early shift thing wasn't a good idea..but I need the money...especially as they took uni fees out today...boo!  So there I am, thinking I'll never get a Haunted Mansion tour because I never sign up in time...and I walk up to the bus stop to find a notice saying that there were going to be tours just for CP's!  Hurrah!  So I grab the nearest phone and dial the extention...only for the guy on the other end saying he can't hear me.  Grrrrr!  So I phone another number on my mobile, and the woman transfers me.  So now I'm going on a Mansion Tour!  Wooooooooooo I'm so excited...and plus it counts for one of my assignments...talk about killing two birds with one stone  (why you'd want to kill a bird is beyond me).

Ah so work time.  The guests were kinda sleepy this morning...had no idea what I was going on about, but they did get better and I got quite a lot of clapping out of them.  I managed to get my whole rotation (Oh except for Jeff...I'll forgive you seeing as you're losing your voice due to spieling and Candlelight rehearsals!) to bump around me at Front Unload.  It was so much fun!  Then Jeff came back from break and said he wouldn't so I went to a boat and then got bumped to back unload.  Well at least I thought I was.  I was then pulled back to the dock box and asked if I wanted an ER (early release).  What with it being a shift I picked up (so I wasn't scheduled) I had no problems with saying YES!

So I've been home since 5...and meant to upload pictures to photobucket (but didn't), and do a million of other things..but didn't.  Oh well.  I don't like finishing work early...there's no one around.  Anyway I have class at 8 tomorrow.  I should go to bed.  Night xxx

27.9.2006: Work again.

That's all I did today.  Work.  I had day parade again, and Foy and I had opposite crosswalks, so we spent the time chatting to guests...then low and behold, Andy taps me on the shoulder.  No surprise really, I knew he was coming out again, but it's weird seeing someone who went home a month ago.  Nitsa looked very happy anyway LOL .

Ah anyway the Jungle was fun!  And guess what???  I was put in charge of it at close  Yep...me!  Our coordinator climbed into my boat, and told me that after that trip he wanted me to get out and take over front unload, and basically  make sure all the boats went back and everything went up to the office, because he wouldn't be there.  So I did.  We've closed the Jungle on our own many times before, but I guess I was one of the only senior CP's out of everyone that was there.  I rock!

Anyway I picked up an early shift tomorrow so I must go sleep!  Night!!

26.9.2006: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of Tom Sawyer Island

Noooooo thats new the name of the new movie...it was the Halloween event that happened for all Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland and Tommorrowland CM's tonight.  But more about that later.

Started work at 1.45pm today...day parade woo!  I'm liking day parade a lot more now because it's cooler and the parade is just awesome.  I took a new position today...bridge.  Bascially all I did was stand at the bridge and roped it off.  Then I told people it was closed.  Easy peasy...oh and of course I looked after a tiny crosswalk.  Fun!  That also meant I got to see the parade from the other side this time.  Usually I'm standing by the Liberty Bell, but this time I was near Sleepy Hollow.

So I headed back to Jungle.  I forgot to mention that this morning I straightened my hair and had worn it down to work.  Well what did it do? Rain of course!  So that went back up as soon as I got to the break room.  Grrrrrrrrrrr.  Lots of thunder was heard, but we didn't go 101 because there was no lightning.  Oh well.  We closed at 8 as usual, and then Kaori, Hibo and I rushed to the locker room to go get changed for the halloween event!  It was soooooo much fun.  I think Ad/Lib had the majority of people there.  First we went to have FREE food in the Diamond Horseshore.  Music and lots of lights and a very long line.  Oh well it is Disney I guess!  Having eaten (with Ryan eating my leftovers ) we headed over to ride the Haunted Mansion.  Now the managers were working tonight operating the attraction, so it was very weird to see them actually doing something other than managers stuff!  In fact it was rather creepy.

So after Mansion we headed over to Tom Sawyers Island.  This was so scary...I'm kinda dreading Universal's Halloween Horror Nights now!  Anyway, we got taken over by the keel boats (once again, driven by one of our managers who used to work in Frontierland) and taken over to the island.  Our instructions were to stick together (no more than 6 in a group) and don't follow the pirates, only the cowboys or cowgirls.  Might have helped if there were any cowpeople around!  We went through lots of buildings and caves and were scared out of our wits!  Before heading to the fortress for 'treasure' and nearly being slaughtered by Davy Jones and a guy with a chainsaw.  Argh!  That really was scary..although I recognised the Davy Jones mask as the one they sell in the shops! Haha.  I also recognised one of our coordinators...didn't seem to scary then.

Apparently they toned it down quite a bit after the first groups when in (ours being one of them).  Some people were so scared they had to be escorted off, and one girl got hurt I think (nothing bad, just bumped into a wall) but all in all it was so much fun!

We then did Mansion again for a second time, then got the bus home.  Many pictures taken on the bus.  I'll get them all up sometime...it's just I really need to put them all on photobucket, but I have like....600 to put on there, so it may take some time and I always get distracted.  Anyway...night night! xx

24.9.2006: Early shift!

Yeah, it was a really early shift today!  10.15 to 4.15.  I was the only CP working this shift...they love me!  No one else came in until it was nearly time for me to go, so I got to hang out with all the regulars.  Work was ok I guess, nothing special happened, except I was really tired because I only got 4 hours sleep.  Oh well.  So now I'm really tired.  I was supposed to go to a meeting about a dance troupe for CP's, that I wouldn't be able to do because I go home in January, but I wanted to find out what it was about.  I didn't go, but they have another session Wednesday so I might go to that one instead.

But I have a day off tomorrow  for rehearsals so I will sleep in and do nothing all day!  Woo!

23.9.2006: Spectro again!

Ooooooooh I had spectro today!  Work was ok, but I couldn't wait to go to parade!  Kaori and I were at the same area so we got some kids together and did duck, duck goose!  So much fun!  I was rolling as usual, and there was a new roller on the other side.  She did pretty good though.

So tonight Devin, Rachel and I stayed to see the previews of the new shows coming to MK.  First was the Family Fun Day Parade.  This goes from the hub to Town square, and basically guests can join in the parade, wave pompoms and dance with hoops along the way.

Then we went to see the Let's Have a Ball!  That was so much fun.  It involved a lot of 'Simon Say's' and dancing and conga lines!

Then it was time to head over to High School Musical Pep Rally.  This would have been better if they had had the actual stage, but they sing live and are very good so I'll give them credit for that!

Well we didn't get back home until just now...and it's 3.30am, so I'm going to get 4 hours sleep as I have to be at work at 10.15!  Oh yay.  But tonight was so much fun, I have the funniest video of Devin and Rachel which I will put up soon!

Night! xx

22.9.2006: Double parade, Hallowishes and candy!

Today has been great!  First, I got up at 7 to go to class.  I'm taking Experiential Learning, and the assignments are all very interesting, including riding attractions and writing about them, and going on a Disney Heritage Tour (I found there's 'Behind the Scenes: Haunted Mansion, and Holiday Services Tours' happening in October...I reckon they are all full though...I can't phone them up until Monday.)  So it's all going to be pretty easy!

So then I went off to work.  I had a member of the Dream Squad on my boat, to see how I did the magical moment of having a guest skipper.  One family had gotten on the boat with him, and he said that the son was going to do it, but in the end the kid (dressed as Stitch for Halloween!) didn't want to, so I picked someone else.  All in all rather fun.  I was bumped out at 6 to go get changed for parade!  As tonight was the Halloween parade it meant I had to wear the orange t-shirt and black trousers (which for some reason were too short, despite saying 34 length...I'm not that tall!).  We all looked pretty good to be honest.  I did take a picture too.  Most people probably know that I LOVE  the Halloween parade, so getting to see it twice in one night was awesome!  I also got to watch Hallowishes from behind Main Street...awesome fireworks, and they were perimeter, which meant they happened around the park (well 180 degrees).  It was so much.  Also, Jorden and his family were there that night, and they took plenty of pictures (oooh dear.....) and we had a good ole chat (which meant I didn't have to do pactivities!  Although Kaori was doing well on her own!)

The Headless Horseman was just as scary as he was at the Cast Preview..it's such a good parade though....makes me want to be the Wicked Queen even more!

After parade we all took one very large and heavy bag of candy and walked around Liberty Square and Adventureland handy out candy.  I had a line of people at one point!

Anyway I have been up for 19 hours and I'm really tired...sleep time!  Night xxx

19.9.2006: Who loves lightning? I love lightning!!!

Well today was just fabulacious!  So I got into work at 2pm.  First I had to go do this Cast Excellence Survey, so I dropped my stuff off at the Jungle, and headed all the way back up to the Disney Learning Centre.  It took me all of 15 minutes to complete this survey (yet they give you an hour) so once I was finished I wandered back to the Jungle and spent 45 minutes reading and chatting to skips.  Then I headed up to work.  I went in the boat about 3 times and then went on break.  David then let me bump around him so I didn't have to get into the boat!  Awesome!  David rocks!  So then the clouds came.  We went 101 at about 3.30...maybe later, for about 45 mins.  It was great!  Joe, Leona and I sang show songs....I had so much fun!  We then came up again and I went in a boat twice, before being bumped out.  We then got the call to say we were 101 again!  Obviously lightning was on it's way!  This was about 5.30....and we stayed closed until 7.30!  The park was closing at 8 as well!  During our down time, a few of us went to help evac Pirates.  David and I were given the job of handing out re-ads.  Now I know being stuck on a ride isn't nice, but we can hardly help the weather can we?  Guests were complaining that there was no us waiting.  Honestly, by the time a bus got there to bring them onstage, the park would be closed!  And some guests were complaining that the re-ads were no use.  I know there was only one hours left, but they didn't seem to realise that they could get on any ride without a wait!  Trouble was that all the rides they wanted to go on were outside and therefore closed!  Guests don't seem to realise that we don't like closing either....it means we have to put up with very unhappy people!

Oh well.

We then headed back to jungle and continued to stay closed....then had a rag fight on the dock and then we all came home!  The fun.  So now I'm going to have dinner and go to bed.  I called maintanence this morning to fix our toilet and it hasn't been.  I came in the other day to find it blocked, and Mai hadn't even bothered to phone them.  Now she's off to LA for a week, so I guess it's up to me.  They better come tomorrow!

18.9.2006: Guest Skippers!

Today was the second day of me doing guest skippers on my boat.  Most of the time kids didn't want to do it, but I'm loath to let adults do it because there's not enough space up here as it is! (I did let Devin's friend Amber do it though....was very funny!).  To be honest, it makes the cruises a lot better, and the looks on the kids faces is amazing.  I just wish they'd hurry up with these cards we're supposed to give them.

I also got a GSF card today!  My first one in 3 months!  Thats another good thing about guest skippers, you get more GSF cards!  Plus the place is starting to get busier so we always have a line now.

Oh well nothing more to say.  I started early today so I'm kinda tired and the day went slow.  Oh well day off soon! Woo!

17.9.2006: Erm...

Not much happened today actually.  I didn't close (again, I think they like me) and we started doing guest skippers on the boats.  Usually I just pick a kid, and ask them if they want to help drive later on, but sometimes they don't want to so I ask the question to the whole boat, and usually there's someone who want's to do it.  I don't want adults to though....to cramped at the wheel.  It's really just a case of me finding the best place to stand/sit when someone else is driving.

Anyway that's about it.  I start early tomorrow at 10.45 so I'm going to get a lot of sleep.  Night!

16.9.2006: Yawn

Yeah...work was work.  Nothing exciting happened except Devin and I perfected our secret handshake.  Yeah that's about it.  When I came home I went to Wendy's with Vanessa for the first time in like...nearly 3 weeks!  I should have taken the camera to have memories of this treasured moment.  Yeah, it was soooooooo good.

15.9.2006: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Well today was a lot of fun!  I didn't start work until 6.15pm, so first I went to pick up my halloween costume I had to wear for work.  It's  an orange t-shirt with MNSSHP logo on it, black trousers and a lime green Goofy's Candy Company apron.  Very fetching!  So I went to drop those off in my locker before going upstairs to make reservations for the Candlelight Processional dinner package at guest relations.  Everything I wanted for the days I wanted were fully booked, so I gave up, and headed to the monorail to go to Epcot.

I went to Guest Relations to try and book for the more expensive package..and they had spaces!  Not for the day I wanted but nonetheless, I'll just have to book the day off!  I then went to the Electric Umbrella for lunch (kids meal as usual!) and then headed into Innoventions to chat with Vanessa who was at Kidcot.  I was there for ages having a good gossip.  I also went to hear the Voices of Liberty in the American Adenture, but for some reason it wasn't open, so I went to finish off my mask in World Showcase....I finished it in China so they gave me a little poster type thingy to say I'd completed it...woo!

So then I headed on back to MK to go get ready for work.  At the Westside Base we got these cool little MNSSHP tag things to wear (like the Grad Nite one I found on the floor!) so that was cool.  We met in the Diamond Horseshow and were given postions.  I ended up in one of the old unused restaurants.  It was very cool layout...there were 3 character places, and the queues for each were made out of plants!  There was Tarzan and Jane, Baloo and King Louie, and Timon and Rafiki.  I was placed next to the Jungle Book one.  Basically, we took turns at being greeter (basically telling guests that the characters were one way, and candy was the other) and then handing out candy (and break of course!).   The night went so fast, but I had a big longing to wear my own costumes.  Many times I was handing out Candy with  Ona, and got 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas' stuck in here head.  I am mean.  Hehe.  So yes it was a very fun night...except there was a storm.  We didn't notice because we were inside, but the guests were coming in soaked.  So I didn't get to see the parade, but plenty of time for that!  Also heard the fireworks but couldn't see them.  I really hope I get to go to a party because I really want to dress up and such.  For the cast one on Tom Sawyer Island you're not allowed to dress up...nor are you allowed at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights (but then what could you go as?  Everyone would want to wear Disney!)

So yeah it's been a very fun night...can't wait until next week when I get to do parade!  Yay!

Oh and we went to IHOP afterwards (it was Jodi's last night in AD/Lib before she goes to entertainment!) with all the Mansion people looking scary with their makeup on...they looked so good!  I really wish I worked there!

Right bedtime now...I have to be up in the morning lol.  Night!

12.9.2006: Yawn

Well work was work I guess.  I did day parade...and at the end had a very cute conversation with two little girls about princesses and Minnie Mouse...it was awesome.  Anyway, so yeah not much happened.  Night!

11.9.2006: Dead Boat!

Wow, today was also semi fun.  Well to be honest it was just the last couple of hours at the jungle.  We eventually got put into 3 spot rotations (it's very rare that we get those, and yesterday there were like, 5 of them altogether!  Getting ready for parade bumpouts I presume).  So I got lots of breaks...hehe!  So there I was, in the Annie (Amanada had asked me to bump around her at back load, and I gladly said yes as it meant getting another break) and I'm coming into the temple where I just let the boat coast in, to give me time to say what I need to say...and just as I'm finishing, everything went silent.  I don't mean the guests...I mean, you can tell when the engine cuts out.  So there I am, trying to restart the engine, but it's having none of it.  I read the temperature gauge (it had been going up all day, and I knew it would die at somepoint...I just didn't want to be on it!) and it said 240.  Drat!  So I had to radio for help (bearing in mind this was my first dead boat that wasn't already at dock, so I only vaguely knew what to do) and we sat around to wait.  My crew were great though.  It did get extremely hot in the temple...I've never realised that before.  They should make it air conditioned.  We did eventually get rescued.  I had to continue my spiel, but it's so funny watching the rescue boat people duck at the spraying elephants (they have to go right through it so my guests don't get wet) but we were going too slow so they didn't even get splashed.  Boo!  Ah well so I was pushed back into boat storage...and then I got to go to parade!  Woo!

So as usual at parade I chose to roll river side.  I don't know why no one likes it.  Yes its a lot of pressure, but then I don't have to roll up Frontierland and I get the easy HOP crosswalk.  I did however tell some guests by mistake how many people were in the park, just as a coordinator and manager walked past.  OOPS!  Apparently your not allowed to tell them that...how was I supposed to know, it wasn't in the OG?!?  Ah well I didn't get into trouble, they just told me not to LOL.

So parade was fun.  We got the piggies to shimmie again and the rolled up.  Woo.  So now I'm going to go read in bed and then sleep.  Day parade again tomorrow.  Oh I found out my costume for the halloween treat trail.  It's an orange MNSSHP t-shirt, black trousers, and a lime grean Goofy's Candy Company apron.  Nice .  For parade it's the same but without the apron.  Oh yeah and I had to miss rehearsals tonight because I couldn't get the day off  oh well I'll go as standby on Wednesday before I go to watch the parade!  Night xx

10.9.2006: Strollers!

Woo!  Today has been such an awesome day at work!  Probably because I hardly did anything!  First, I went to day parade, where I chose to look after the HOP crosswalk.  It's such a small crosswalk and there are hardly any people that it doesn't really looking after.  Plus it's outside the nice air conditioned HOP so yay!  Kaori chose the other side so we got to mess around together.  It wasn't too hot either so at least it was bearable, and we danced the entire time it was on!  Woo!

So I got back to the jungle and was all set for getting in aboat, when they decided that they needed two people to go help out with Pirates strollers (it had just rained so it was getting a little manic).  So I thought Brendan and I would be there for, oh, 20 minutes...but noooooo, we were there for 2 HOURS!  It was so much fun.  As I've said before, I love strollers, and strollers at Pirates is just so much more of a challenge (because there are more people and the stroller parking is a lot more complicated).  Plus, we had a great time pretending to be Pirates, and it's like, only the second time I've been asked where the Jungle Cruise is...it's usually the other way around.  And I don't think I've ever had so many people wanting my picture!  It was great!  So by the time we got back to the jungle (at 6pm) I only had to go in a boat 5 times!  Then I was bumped out!  Twas great.  So now I'm home and cooking the last of my chicken tonight  and then I'm going to watch TV and go to bed before 12.  I've been getting so much sleep lately!  I think I need to stop though because it's making me even more tired.  Oh well.  Toodles!

9.9.2006: Early finish!

I love this finishing early business.  Today was another 6 hour shift and all the awesome people were there (mainly because all the new CP's were coming later to do crowd control outside the Jungle, what with it being the second night of Night of Joy) so we had lots of fun!  I had a great rotation and basically had lots of fun!  So I've just had dinner (chicken and rice) and am now watching The Parent Trap (I've just worked out how to use the TV guide thingy...duh)  So I reckon I'll keep chatting on msn and doing cross stitch and going to bed before 12.  I have day parade tomorrow (yay!) do want to be awake for that!  Toodles xxx

8.9.2006: Night of Joy

So yeah I did write this before but then I clicked on a link Jorden sent to me (grrrrrrrr...can't think of another word for naughty that I can use here!) and lost some of it...so here we go again.

Raaaaaaaaaaah...yes I worked today...a nice short 6 hour shift.  But first, last night I got about 10 hours sleep!  It was awesome, I think that's the longest sleep I've had in a long time.  So yeah I turned up to work to realise that we closed at 6 because we had a hard ticket event tonight...the Night of Joy!  This is an event attracting Christian guests and church groups so they can enjoy Disney and hear Christian music.  According to all the stories I've heard from previous years...it's worse than Grad Night!  All the kids are unchaperoned (sp?) and basically do as they wish!  I think that's why the Jungle closes...it's too dangerous!  So we closed the jungle and for about an hour we stood up at the top of the steps and told people we were closed.  Oh the fun.

So now I'm home really early and have nothing to do!  So I think I'm going to watch TV and slob around as usual.  Toodles xx

5.9.2006: Town Hall!

Ah today I didn't start until 3.45pm.  I was up fairly early though (having gone fairly early to bed...at like...12am) to see if any certain peoples would be online, but as usual I only got through to Andy, so we had a nice chat.  I didn't really do much to be honest except for lots of singing and constantly trying to gain access to the portal as it seemed to be broken.

Anyway work...well MK was closing at 9pm today so I did what...only 5 hours of work.  Great fun though, none of the crazy new CP's were there so we had so much fun (oh except Devin was there...I love her...so much fun to work with...new CP here....apparently I'm now off her best friends and total friends list...poor me *sob* hehe...ahem anyway...).  So closing was really easy.  I think I was the only person to get a dead trip in (which I was very grateful) and then we all hung around in the office until it was time to go to this Town Hall meeting.  It was in the Hall of Presidents, so we had to walk all the way into the tunnel (technically the park was closed so we could have walked through Liberty Square...I mean we do for parade, but not all of the guests were out of the area so we couldn't) to get to it.  We did get free crisps and soda (little packets...cheapskates, so we took two each...ha!) and settled down to watch the thing.

You can probably guess that it made me cry.  So many things are going to be happening, although the best bits I think will be our new nametags and all the merchandise!  I need to make sure I get a gold hat now before they all go...Property Control here I come!  Anyway so I would have cried more (it's a happy crying!) except that the freak of a skipper Randell, and the CM's behind me totally spoiled the whole thing but laughing the whole time and saying it was a waste...whatever weido's...I didn't ask for your opinion!  The videos were all very beautiful anyway, and I can't wait to see Finding Nemo: The Musical.  Having heard one of the songs, I think it will be really good.  Also the Laugh Floor Comedy Club opens (apparently) in January next year, so hopefully soft openings will happen  before I leave!

Oooh one more thing...have a horrible lump on my arm where I whacked it against the wheel on the boat as it was spinning really fast...ouch...on my dead trip as well...seriously, it's a habit turning that wheel.

Anyway off to do other stuff....it's my Disney Dork day tomorrow....I can't wait!

4.9.2006: Boo to the lonely feeling...

Yes still feeling lonely, despite everyone around me.  I've just finished reading Shanan's final post on her blog, and it's made me feel very scared about leaving in January without having everyone here to share it with me.  It also got me thinking on what the fiddlesticks could I ever write for my final post.  To be honest I think I'll be too distraught to think about it, and I very much doubt I'll be reading my blog for a very long time after I get back.

Anyway so this morning I got up insanely early to start work at 11am.  Grrrrrrrr to the schedulers.  Work though was so much fun, and I had that feeling like I had at the bakery that I simply loved my job and wouldn't change it for anything.  And that was after a bad crew!  I think I was beaming all day and I have absolutely no idea.  Maybe it was because I had an awesome rotation...Greeter (also a new favourite of mine because I still get to do strollers! and have great interaction with guests), Boat (changed throughout the day), Front Unload and Break!  Plus we also went 101...twice!  The first one was because the Wanda died.  Now usually this isn't a problem, but the Wanda is our only wheelchair boat for the time being, which meant problems would occur at my other position:  Front Unload.  Thats the position which assists with the wheelchair line.  Luckily the only incident I had was that the party wanted to used the wheelchair boat, but when I said it wasn't available, they decided to transfer.  So it took ages to get them into the boat, and a lot of effort (the transfering guests were elderly and really sweet to me), and then we 101 for weather.  It wasn't even raining (the storm was on the other side of MK so we had to close) but I felt really bad about making them get out of their wheelchairs, but they were really nice and understanding about it.

So yeah we went 101.  It was great, a whole bunch of us stood at the top of the stairs telling people we were closed...spelling out with a letter each most of the time.  Then we did the macarena, the hokey kokey, played 'Would you like to buy a duck...?' and a Japanese game (thanks to Kaori), as well as staring at the top of the Tiki Room pretending there was something there, and bursting into fits of laughter when guests did the same.  I tell you, I love my job.

Then came parade!  Woo Spectro.  Have I ever mentioned I love this parade?  Anyway it was a very low attendance, only 12,000 people were in the park...started off at 20,000 in the morning, which is why we had no fastpasses as the queue stayed at 10 minutes from about 12pm.  We had two new people who work at ATT do parade, one is from England and knows people from Gloscestershire!  The University that is.  Anyhoo, it made for a very interesting parade, because they were both doing positions on the diamond side.  So naturally the river side (the one I was rolling on) was ahead of them at both rolling out and up!  In fact, the parade was kinda eventful.  Yabom and I got talking to a woman in the wheelchair section about the Night of Joy (so so so so so glad I'm not working it) and other Disney things, as well as about how I don't sound like I have an English accent (when will the torment end?).  I then chatted to another family about why I was here and stuff, and then, Kev will be happy to know, I gave out lots of my stickers that he had given me.  There was one family who were so awesome, I called them the light parade family because they all had flashing lights and stuff and all wore the same t-shirts.  I gave them all stickers and chatted to the kids who were telling me all kinds of things and then I came back  later when one of them was taking a picture and told them I'd take it for her because, what with it being a family picture, she needed to be in it!  The woman was so grateful and even though it was only a little thing, I felt I'd made a little bit of magic for them.

Ah.

So...still feeling lonely.  I've hardly talked to anyone who's returned home (except for Andy, and he's not even home) and then I've been talking a lot to Rach and realise that I miss her a lot.  Life would be so much easier without friends, but less fun.  So please, anyone, I don't care who...just leave a message on my blog, or email me and let me know you're alive and don't hate me because it really feels like I've lost all my friends.  I know everyone is like 'yes you'll see them again and talk to them blah blah blah' but that doesn't help right now!  Anyway I'm not depressed (although I can't really tell anymore, I'm walking around like it's May again and the summer never happened).

Ah well.  I've just had chips, cheese and ranch dressing for dinner so I feel a little bit better for that.  I've nearly finished reading all my books so I reckon I might get some new ones off amazon soon.  Right nothing more to say now.  So night night xx

3.9.2006: EMH again...

Today was one of those days where I practically had a day off because I didn't start work until very late.  I didn't do very much at all.  I stayed in my pyjamas all day, did some washing, tidied up a bit and just generally lounged around.

So work began at 6pm.  EMH wasn't so bad actually, I mean I don't hate it, but then it can get very annoying at the same time.  It's like, by 12am most guests are so tired I don't  think they even realise they are on a boat listening to a lame spiel about fake animals.  Oh well.  Closing was rather fun I must admit.  Not so much what we did, but the people I closed with.  Also, the coordinator did give me a Annie (awesome audio boat) and Dock Assist as a pairing...sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

So anyway, I must be up early for tomorrow's work, so I guess it's another 5 hours of sleep I'll get.  Night xx

2.9.2006: PAC! again

I can officially say I'm back to my usual happy, bubbly self.  To be honest it feels like that this summer never even happened.  Oh well.  So yeah work started at 1.30pm.  I had the best rotation ever!  Strollers, FP Return, Ganges Gertie and FP Merge!  Strollers is my new favourite position!  I'm so obssessed with keeping strollers straight and tidy and not having them clutter up the place.  I even do the ones up the steps by the popcorn cart (jeeze the amount of people who just leave their strollers, on a hill mind! without the brakes on.)  Plus I love watching people trying to find their strollers when I've moved them.  The only problem was that I was then at return, so when the strollers person wasn't doing their job, I had to control my urge to go and straighten them.  Grrrrrrr.  So yes, a very sweet rotation, and I got it because I was at the Dock Box first.  Brendan tried to pull the 'I clocked in first' strategy, but then I used my seniority over him!  Go me!  Yes I actually have seniority over people now!  It wouldn't have mattered anyway, there was another rotation I wanted lol.

Then was night parade!  I know, I actually had parade this week (you should see my schedule for the week after next....go check it out, it's awesome).  I got to roll! (woo, there were new people there to so we had to give them easy jobs).  So yeah we were all set up for parade, I had given out all but one of my stickers (the manager went and got some for us) and then it started to rain.  And thundering.  And lightning.  So they kept putting it off.  Apparently they can only delay it for 10 minutes because of Wishes, and then have to cancel it, but they kept delaying for about 20 minutes even though the decision had been made.  So we had to wait out in the rain for ages.  Then at last it got cancelled.  So we rolled up again, had a bit of a commotion with a lost child, and then went to the office to rip Re-Ad's up (not actually ripping them up, just tearing them off the roll into stacks) for the last 20 minutes of the shift.  It was fun!

I then got a lift back from Jodi (usually works Mansion, sometimes Jungle) and now I'm here updating.  I feel awfully lonely at the moment.  Ona and I do have a Disney Dork day planned for Wednesday which I'm looking forward to.  But my stupid scheduler didn't give me the days off for my first week of Candlelight rehearsals, so I will see if I can get someone to swap my Thursday off for their Monday.  Also on the 13th is the Cast Preview for Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade so I really want to go to that.  It's for MK CM's only.  Woo!  But then I want to standby for the rehearsal that night...hopefully I can make both, because rehearals finish at 10 I think, and the parade is at 11.

Ah well bedtime.  Night xx

1.9.2006: I'm coping.

I'm so proud...no tears today and I've been quite happy, if a little down in the dumps at times.  One, work was fabulous...I had the majority of good cruises and good people to work with.  It's so nice to know that there are people who know what I'm going through.  No matter how much I told myself not to think about the last couple of days, the more I did.  The skips did a pretty good job of distracting me though.  I think the only weird thing I nearly did was to phone Kev and ask him if we were going to Wendy's (see I've forgotten you've gone already) before remembering he would be on a ruddy plane.  And you know what? I wasn't all that sad.  At least now I won't spend as much, I can get plenty of sleep, and have some me time.  I really need me time.  Oh, but Ona and I are going for a Disney Dork and Hidden Mickey Hunt day on Wednesday, which I'm so looking forward to.  So it's very late and I'm very tired.  I've been putting away all the stuff Kev gave...enough washing stuff now to last me forever (Shanan also gave me washing stuff) and enough chocolate to send me doolally.  And all his change.  I've just finished counting it, and putting it together with what I already had, I now have (a rounded down total) $32 in change.  Damn I need to get it put into my account!  Someone could steal it...but then again my money box is far too heavy to carry now.

Anyway I need sleep.  I work at 1.30pm tomorrow with Spectro.  Yay!

And Kev you better be online this weekend.  I might not be tomorrow because of my shift, but if I don't talk to you I might do some damage to one of my roomates.

Hehe.

More photos to come soon!

29.8.2006: Short Shift!

Yup a very short shift.  Only 6 hours.  Nothing happened really, except James gave me a lift home woo!  I'm glad I know someone else with a car hehehehe.  Anyway, as I didn't start until late, I lounged around for ages!

So erm, time to go stuff with people, probably Wendy's as usual.  Night xx

28.8.2006: Argh so tired!

How cruel is my scheduler?  She gives me an EMH shift finishing at 1.45am and then makes me come back at 10.15 the next day.  I was half an hour off getting double time.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  And it's a 12 and a half hour shift she gives me.  Oh well.  By the end of it I had lost my voice, and no one seems to care.  Everyone else just starts saying 'I'm losing mine too' and it's like, no you're not because you can still speak, my guests can't hear me!  Anyway it was somewhat of a good shift.  We had great fun mucking around (as usual).  But right now I should go to bed.  Night!

27.8.2006: Mmmmmm Drugs

Yeah they're definitely kicking in...I'm not doubling over in pain anymore lol.  Anyway work tonight was fun.  EMH tonight so all in all we weren't all that busy.  I didn't start until 6pm either.  I love those shifts because it's cooler and the guests are so much better.

Anyway didn't do much today so not much to say!

26.8.2006: All sorted

Today has been very draining.  Firstly I only got 4 hours of sleep before I had to get up and go to Health Services.  Kev came and knocked on my door, and then we headed up to 28 to get Kara who was driving us.  We went to HS but they said as it wasn't work related I should go to the Florida Hospital Centra Care near Vista.  So we did, and I didn't have to wait long for my blood pressure to be taken and stuff but then sat for ages on my own waiting for the doctor (Kev and Kara were waiting outside).  Eventually he came and checked me out and turns out I do in fact have a respiratory infection and some stomach gastro doo dah I can't really remember.  So anyway he prescribed antibiotics and so I waited for Kara to come back (she was taking Kev to work and he was late which I feel really really guilty about...he should have gone earlier like I told him to!  I didn't want him to get points on his record card, I'm not worth that!) and we headed back to Vista.  So while Kara went to have breakfast and go back to bed, I went to Walgreens to pick up my prescription.  Medication is kinda expensive here, but at least I'll get it all back on my insurance.

So anyway I went off to work and slept all the way there (either I was really tired or the syrup antibiotics that causes drowsiness was having a big effect on me) and then had a great shift!  It was only 6 hours long and all the current newbies had checked out yesterday so it was a fun closing team.  I think I do tend to get a little impatient with the newbies though, but Cat does agree with me that sometimes obvious things aren't done.  Like roping the rope boat!  I was in the rope boat, and I know sometime we forget which one is the rope boat, but when I'm shouting constantly...rope the boat! rope the boat! and they don't do it, it's kind of annoying, especially as it ruins the whole show.  I know they'll get used to it though, I was a newbie once and I know I wasn't perfect!  So anyway I was paired with back load and the Nellie (horrible frigging boat, the audio is so quiet I practically had to shout and am now losing my voice) but we closed pretty quickly and then James gave Drew and I a ride home (woo someone with a car!)  We all live in Vista which is perfect!

So all us roomates were supposed to have a night in playing monopoly, but I think I got home too late because it never happened, but instead Kev came over and showed me a guest email they had receieved at work about him and a pin he got because of it....jammy dodger!  It's great though, he really deserves some recognition!  Anyway I fell asleep on the sofa and didn't wake up until Kev told me he was going to let me sleep (having been messing around on my laptop!) and after he dragged me off the sofa to give me a hug and send me to bed...I am in fact now going to bed!  I don't start work until 6 tomorrow yay!  Lie in!

25.8.2006

Well today I was supposed to go to PC with Kev, and after having a late night last night I was really tired.  So there I was sitting on the bus waiting for Kevina...and suddenly I got a text saying his alarm on his phone hadn't gone off (get a proper alarm clock dammit) and wouldn't make the bus.  So I jumped off just as it was about to leave...fumming as usual and decided it was ok because I had to go get my book anyway.  I then got another text suggesting that I go snooze in his apartment before the next bus came.  So that I did.  But then I missed the bus  but no matter because I snoozed some more and got the next bus...I wasn't late because I always get a really early bus anyway.  I then take it that Kev went back to bed...grrrrrrrrrrrrr I was so tired...and I had a long closing shift again.

Anyway so I came home and was going to make dinner, but I felt so ill I decided to sleep for a bit (well had no choice really I was just lying there crying and kinda dropped off lol...not before setting my alarm for tomorrow) and then woke up 30 minutes later and made dinner (chicken tonight again mmmmmmmmmm).  Then I got a text about Wendy's, so I walked up to the bus stop and stood talking to Kara (who was at the pool) while Vanessa and Kev got changed.  Kara then decided to come to Wendy's so we all went there (I didn't eat anything though, I'd already had dinner hadn't I?) and then went back to Kev's apartment, although Vanessa went to bed.  I dozed off on his sofa and about 3.30am decided that bed was a good idea, so kinda stormed out and cried on my way back...although I should have known that Kev would have been after me because I didn't give him a hug.  Anyway ended up in his apartment again in floods of tears because even though I wasn't in that much pain then, I knew it would get worse.  So tomorrow Kara is kindly driving me and Kev to Health Services so I can get checked out.  I don't really want to go but I don't have much of a choice.

Night xx

22.8.2006: I think they like me closing...

Or I did something to annoy the scheduler.  Actually I think it's because so many people have left so now we're all on more hours and closing shifts until all the newbies check out.  As usual work was work so nothing really interesting so say.  However, as the last boat left today the loaders cheered and stuff, so when the last boat came back round we filled up our water bottles and had a celebration on the dock.  The guests thought we were mad but whatever.  There was no coordinator at the Jungle so we closed on our own!  Closing skippers rock!

So anyway Wendy's time again...catch you all soon.

21.8.2006: Argh

Once again another long tiring shift.  I still can't get rid of this cold I have, and now it's starting to hurt my chest and I'm coughing all over the place making my cruises very hard because my throat keeps clogging up and I can't talk LOL.  The one bad thing about this shift is that I'm closing, which is so unfair.

Ok so now the Jungle Cruise doesn't open until 10am.  Which is great.  But then the park opens at 9am...so it's already busy by the time we open.  Hence why at 10.30am we had a 40 minute queue...practically unheard of since I've worked here.  The day did go fast though, except I feel quite ill so I can't wait to go to bed! Night xx

20.8.2006: Another 6 hour shift...

...so nothing much to say really.  I worked having slept in this morning for once.  Work was work as usual.  No 101 sadly, which we haven't had in ages but I'm sure they will come soon!

19.8.2006: Closing

So yeah here begins the 4 nights of closing.  Luckily I'm not starting until 4.45 today but then that's only a 6 hour shift with no lunch.  Grrrrrrrrr.  Anyway we have lots of newbies starting and they're all very cool so I think we should have a great laugh.  It's sad to see people leave though, I'll really miss Ivan, Lauren and Catriona.  We did have a lot of fun.  It's great to be one of the 'old' skippers though who the newbies kinda look to if they don't know anything.

So yeah as usual I closed.  It was very fun as the closing crew were great!

18.8.2006: Long shift!

Yeah it was one those insanely long shifts that I really tend to love and hate at the same time.  Firstly, they're much better than 6 hour shifts because I'm not constantly looking at my watch, and also tends to mean that I'm not closing at C35.  On the other hand, if you get stuck in a horrible rotation then it makes the whole shift hell because you really don't want to work.  Oh well.  This shift was pretty decent anyway...hardly looked at my watch at all, and before I knew it was time to go home!

So anyway it's Wendy's once again so I better go!  Toodles xx

15.8.2006: Ick

That's just how I feel, icky.  The first two hours at work I was dying, honestly every time I entered the temple I sort of collapsed on my crate, and only sang twice I think.  I then raided the first aid box and took some Extra Strength Non-aspirin stuff.  Wooooooah I was hyper for the rest of the night. Woo!

So I came home went to Wendy's with the usual gang, where we also met Shanan and Shayna.  We came back to Vista and Kev and I headed over to S Club (Shanan and Shayna's room) and had a dance fest.  Funny stuff, especially some of the Canadian songs they played.

Anyway it's now nearly 5 and Kev and I are going to Epcot tomorrow.  So night! xx

14.8.2006: Work and Parade

Wow long shift today.  I started at 10.15am..and found out that now we don't open until 10am!  How awesome is that?  The only problem is that the park has already been open for an hour, and so by 10.15 we had a 40 minute queue.  Madness.  So yeah, definitely getting a cold, I can feel it.  Anyway I finished at 8.45pm so I came home and vegged on the sofa watching the Princess Diaries.  I then got a call from Kev saying I was going out with him, Shanan and Shayna to a club and that there was no question about it.  I did say no many times but they agreed just to shut him up.  So I got changed superfast and headed up to his.  Kev however couldn't find his passport so he told me to go back, get changed and we'd go to Wendy's...I was almost back to my apartment when I got another call saying he'd found it and to come back.  So almost to his apartment he called me again saying we weren't going because we didn't have a lift anymore...so in the end I went to Wendy's in my very short skirt...good job I had a hoodie because I put that on over my top!

We then came back to mine so I could get changed into PJ's, pick up my pillow, sheet and the Princess Diaries, and then mooched back up to building 28, where we watched said DVD.  Oh fun...at least I didn't fall asleep (well not really).

Anyway it's really late!  Night x

14.8.2006: Boring Work

Not much to say.  Work was work as usual, nothing exciting happened.  I do think though I'm getting a cold because I'm a little sniffly.  I hope I'm not getting what I had in February because if I lose my voice then I can't work.  Maybe that's a good thing.

12.8.2006: PAC again!..

...except this time it was day PAC.  Honestly I adore the new parade.  It was extremely hot though, I wish I had chosen the HOP crosswalk; air conditioning galore!  And then I went to work at the Jungle.  Nothing new there, I was closing breaker so left just after 9 so I changed and went to bug Kev at night PAC, but with the mayhem going on I couldn't find his crosswalk.  Oh well I then watched Wishes. Woo.  And got the bus home with Kev.  Honestly so jealous, I wish I could do PAC all day long!

11.8.2006: PAC!

Woo today I had night PAC.  I only started work at 3.15pm so I didn't work at Jungle for long.  Good thing too as it was very hot.  Anyway parade wasn't as good as it could have been.  That was down to the Pactivities.  I was doing stantions (I must say I'm quite good at this too! Hehe) so had the breezeway crosswalk on the river side.  Once again I taped out all I could and guests got the idea, except for some who for some reason didn't know what a white line was.

Anyway I was doing pactivites with Hibo, Ivan and a girl doing extra hours.  I'm never doing pactivities with Hibo again; she's horrible to the kids.  I know that there are certain rules to Duck Duck Goose, but there's no need to shout at them.  So long as they have fun I don't care if they break the rules...they can run around as many times as they want!  Anyway, so yeah thoroughly hate her, she's always rude to me anyway, like she's above me or something.

Anyway so the parade and roll up went quite quickly, it was just really weird only doing one parade, because I got to go home at 10! Woo!

8.8.2006: Work again and The Emperor's New Groove

The title pretty much says it all.  I worked...nothing great to say so I'll leave it at that.

However, I did finish work and watch Wishes, before meeting Kev at the bus stop.  We headed back to Wendy's (as usual) where we bumped into Shanan and Shayna (Shanan moved into Shayna's apartment so they're now roomates) and we went back to theirs to watch The Emperors New Groove.  I've never seen it, but it's hilarious!  I've a feeling we won't be able to stop quoting it now!

"Pull the lever Kronk!"

"Wrong lever!"

"Why do we even have that lever?!?"

7.8.2006: Fantasmic again!

Woooooo short shift today.  Way too hot for my liking though, honestly it shouldn't be this hot in the morning.  The only problem now with not having fastpasses is that the queue gets very long (i.e. 40 mins) by 10am.  Freaky.  I think they must mistake it for Pirates (honestly that's not uncommon).  We did go 101 at one point, not for long though.  It was a short but really bad storm...I thought at least a few boats had been hit the thunder was so loud!  Anyway so shift went far too slow, but then I met Andy by the train station so we could go to MGM!  Luckily it had finished raining by then.  We went to the ABC Commisionary for dinner (mmmmm curry) and then did the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (the girl playing Ariel was really good!), Beauty and the Beast (Also amazing Belle, sounded just like her), Tower, and then went to get seats for Fantasmic.  The Mickey section (best section) was pretty much filled up, but I managed to find seats right below the VIP seating (so basically we might as well have been sitting in it) and had a great view.  Luckily the lift was working this time so Mickey didn't have to run onstage!

So now I'm back at home, waiting for 12 to roll around so I can see if I can check whether or not I made it into the CP.  Then I'm off to IHOP with bakery peeps because Lisa leaves on Thursday  (along with my parade buddy Brian...boy what a sad day) and so we need to get together!

Toodles x

6.8.2006: So long, so long, what's taking so long?

That's exactly how my shift felt today.  Although I did get the best of both worlds.  One...morning shift.  Found out that we no longer do FastPasses (I think that's just for non peak season, or maybe they're fazing them out) but we still let re-ads in, so a few more for me today!  It dragged on a bit but oh well, that's the jungle for you.

Then I had night parade!  I did cart (so I had to watch the crosswalk I usually watch at day parade) and once again my taping of the crosswalk was so good that I only had to tell people to stay behind the white lines 3 times...and even then they were hardly over the lines.  Jei and Kev were in the park and decided to stand where my crosswalk was...causing trouble as usual! Hehe.  Anyway, spent a long time doing pactivities (even Brian, love of my life, from the Riverboat crosswalk, and Yabom and Yvonne joined in).  Major pactivities going on!

This is why I love parade.  We only have one a night now which is pretty awesome because I get to go home at 10 instead of 12.  The park now closes at 10 as well.

So afterwards I met Kev and Jei backstage so we could watch Wishes, sitting on the ground behind Main Street.  Then they ran off out the front to watch Goodnight Mickey (I've never seen it and I don't even know if they got to as I don't think they ran fast enough!) and I met them downstairs.

As usual we went to Wendy's (must stop going!) and I got really frustrated this time because it took them 20 minutes to get from Kev's apartment to the bus stop which is like 30 seconds away, while I live in the back of beyond.  I'm such a strict time keeper it really annoys me.

So that pretty much had left me in a foul mood which I can't get rid of.  Grrrrrrrr.  Oh well I have to go dry my hair now and go to bed, early start tomorrow!

5.8.2006: PAC again woo!

Yay day parade...I know I don't like it, but at least it isn't Jungle.  One of the character greeters was taking pictures of all the characters and stuff and basically mucking around..highly entertaining.  Whitney and I had opposite crosswalks and to be honest, our taping was amazing (thanks to the fact that we actually had tape today, last day parade we hardly had any...I had to make a dotted line with the tiny piece I got).  The guests knew exactly where they had to stand, and there was arrows and everything!

So yeah after parade I headed back to the good ole Jungle.  Meh..too hot and really jungly.  Right now I could do with a bit of F&B action to getb my in the AC.

Once again I was closing breaker.  I swear these AD/LIB people love me...parade and not closing.  Yeah they love me.

4.8.2006: Eugh

Nasty nasty shift today.  I was closing breaker for EMH and started at 3 so again it was a rather long shift.  It's even worse for EMH because now Jungle gets insanely busy because we're only open for one EMH.  Ah well I worked so that's about it.  Not much to say.

1.8.2006: Last class and PAC!

Woo I had my last class today.  I did however miss the first few minutes because I was on my laptop signing up for the Candlelight Processional.  The sign up started at 8am so I needed to do it then otherwise I might have missed out.  I don't find out until next Tuesday though if I have got in.  I really hope I have!

So last class was rather fun.  I arrived just in time for class picture, and I kinda hope I get a copy.  Oh well we had our final exam (not that I revised) of 35 multiple choice questions (there were 5 from our presentations...one of mine was chosen, and all four answers were wrong  so I didn't know which one to choose!)  After that we were free to go, and we found out our marks before the exam one will be added.  I'm currently at 76% which is great because you need 70% to pass and therefore I've passed! Hehe I hope anyway.  I go to get my certificate and stuff oon the 10th.

So work was cool.  I had both day and night parade so I'm really pleased with that.  Day parade was unbearably hot.  I can't wait until the new parade starts because I'm getting really bored with this one lol.  I then headed over to Jungle.  We were so short on CM's that Chuck asked if I wanted to stay at Jungle instead of going to parade, but I gave him a non-impressed look and I think he got the message.  I know a lot of people who got pulled from parade though, and they weren't pleased.  I though I was going to be, as I was at greeter until 7.40 (parade time starts at 7.45 and I'm usually out by 7.30) but luckily that wasn't the case.  As usual night parade was awesome!  I got to roll (woo) diamond side this time and we did some awesome pactivities!  I love pactivities...many people don't realise how much the guests love and appreciate them, and how much the kids are having a great time.

31.7.2006: Ooooh early shift.

I love these early shifts...they leave you with so much time to do stuff afterwards.  Not that I did much after mine.  Just lazed around, went to Wendy's as usual.  That's about it.

30.7.2006: Wooooooork

Well today I worked a fairly ok shift.  It was from 9.45 till 6 so pretty long.  Not much to tell you to tell the truth.  All manners of crews came on my boat.  The end.

28.6.2006: Stupid Guests.

Woah, today has to have been the longest day EVER!  I started at 9.15am...far too early for my liking, but obviously got there sooner.  I made my lunch today: cheese and salad cream sandwiches...a corn muffin, a fruit pot thingy and an orange (that I didn't eat).  So that was all good.  I went to the managers office to see if I could get my homeroom manager to sign my forms for class (and whilst walking through the park, I wondered why there was no guests around...duh the park wasn't even open yet!), but she was teaching Traditions today so wouldn't be in.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Well then I actually started work and the morning crews were great!  I love the guests in the morning, they're so happy!  But then at about 1pm all went downhill.  I don't know what is wrong with these people...we really need a gift shop to sell them humor...it would make our life so much easier!  But then I guess we're even more pleased when you have a few bad crews and then a really good one!  Which happened a few times to me.  Then at about 7pm they all started getting really good again...yeah that's it...two hours before I go home!  I'm so glad I wasn't doing EMH; I had a 12 hour shift as it is.

So I came home and right now I'm going to go watch TV for a bit, hoping I don't fall asleep on the sofa lol.  It's not even 11 yet.  I'm hungry, where's that ice cream...

26.7.2006: Work work work.

This was my next 6 hour shift this week.  They seem to like giving me really long hours followed by really short ones.  Surprisingly I was only there until 11.15pm, instead on 11.45pm (which is what I usually get with a 6 hour shift).  Anyway, not much happened, average crews I could say...so there's not much else to write!  Night!

25.7.2006: Wow

Honestly....today was just great.  Having gone to sleep at 8pm yesterday I got plenty of sleep (although I was worken up by a phone call from Kev) for having to get up at 7am this morning to go to class.  I was a little worried because I had sent my presentation to my instructor three times and she hadn't replied to me, so I put it on my disco stick and went off to class.  I was the sixth person to do my presentation, and although I was really nervous (and had no idea what I was talking about) apparently they really liked my presentation.  So woo!  Then my table won the final exam review (we played Jeopardy lol) and I got my essay back! 90% woo!  I rock!

So then I came back and got ready for work.  Today was my 9 hour shift and it went surprisingly well!  Once again they asked me to extend (because our stupid scheduler can't schedule enough people to close) but I said no.  I don't mind extending when I do a 6 hour shift, but extending me on a long shift is just wrong, as I found out Sunday.  So yeah I started work and all my crews were awesome!  There was at least one family on each boat who cracked up at my jokes, so my efforts weren't for nothing.  And as I had gotten plenty of sleep I was extremely energetic.

So yeah great fun was had.  I wasn't closing and I had the best rotation ever for my whole shift: Greeter, Bertha (I love that boat, the audio is great! despite it being a wheelchair boat) and Front Unload.  Only one boat is great!  Then at some point before I left, I was having my last break in the break room, and Kabe decided it would be fun to pour water over my head.  Thanks.  So I got him back with my water bottle...with the same cold water he poured over my head.  Then Ivan got involved so there was this water fight outside the breakroom.  Hehe fun.  They we carried it on a bit on the dock.  Teehee.  So I got out at 10.15 along with Laura and Jack...so Jack and I walked back down the tunnels chatting about not much and then I got the bus home!  Which luckily was a west clock when I got there.  So I  came home and tidied up a bit before Kev came round (we have inspection tomorrow) and we sang for a bit while I cleaned the kitchen and Shanan came round, followed by Brynna and Shayna (who all agree I live in the back of beyond).  Everything was going fine (and we were supposed to be going to Wendy's but it never happened so I went to bed hungry grrrrrrrrrr) and then Kev went all...weird on us and just left.  Fine then.  So it was getting late so the others went back to their apartments, and we all ended up on MSN discussing the texts we got from Kev after he left.  I just feel a little used at the moment, like my friendship only matters when he want's it to.  Whatever.  I'm not going to do the running, I just wish I knew what was going on.  I'm not going to describe all the details as that wouldn't be fair, everyone who needs to know already knows (mainly us girlies in question).  Sp as I said to him...when he decides he wants my friendship he knows where to find me...as was said last night, you can't keep running away from your problems, and this time it's us.

24.7.2006: Soooooooo tired.

I have been so tired today.  I fell asleep on the bus on the way to work (I started at 10.30am) and nearly didn't wake up at west clock...but luckily I did!  It was only a 6 hour shift but still, having done nearly 14 hours yesterday I was quite beat!  Oh well, apart from all the yawning it went well.  I like the morning shifts because the guests are great and it's not too hot.

Anyway so I can't remember if anything exciting happened, but I doubt it did as I was so tired I was barely awake.  So I caught the bus home after my stalker decided to hug me (I had no choice, he came out of nowhere) but I was standing with Alyssa from the bakery (who's going to entertainment as Goofy, Jafar and the Queen of Hearts) and she said he had stalked Megan (from the bakery also, who now works at AKL) and tried to hit on Alyssa...so all in all he is weird...and not at all hot so he has no chance.  Plus I'm not that touchy feely thank you very much...only with people I've known more than a couple of weeks.

So anyway I came home and went to Chik-fil-A for dinner, and now, even though it's 7pm...I'm going to go to bed and read for about an hour before I go to sleep!  I'd better go before I fall asleep here.

night x

23.7.2006: Big yawn!

Wow so after last night I'm still annoyed and upset.  No frigging music!  And my laptop takes so long to load up there's not point listening to music on that (usually I'd just plug my speakers into my laptop).  Oh well.  Today I started work at 10am.  Not too bad, although I was to be at work for over 12 hours.  It wasn't that bad a day to be honest, but I was yawning all day because I was so tired.  So most crews were great, had a few rubbish ones but what's new?  Then they asked me to extend, and it was Robert asking me and I can never say no when he gives me that look.  So I ended up working 13 and a half hours...half an hour off a second lunch!  I was so annoyed.  Oh well.  Not much happened really...we went 101 twice due to weather (I'd been doing to 101 dance all day but it kept missing us) and the second storm there was no rain so that was great!

Anyway I was absolutely knackered by the time I got home...my legs hurt so much they were going numb with the pain...it took all of my energy to walk up the steps in our block!

Oh well I'm definitely going to bed now... I have to be a work at 10.30am tomorrow...talk about being tired!

22.7.2006: #?$*&£

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok so today started out ok.  I didn't wake up until 11 and spent the entire time until work doing nothing except making sure my hair would stay straight for tonight.  Yes tonight would be the night that I wear my HOP costume.  So I went to Jungle (complete with hair down and everything) and did a hour and a half's work there (I had to pull a boat up and cycle it...yay!).  I only did two cruises in total so I'm really pleased about that, and the rest of our rotation was awesome too as we had Strollers and FP Distribution.  So anyway I had one break, and then was bumped out to go to parade!  So I grabbed my stuff and ran over to the bathrooms near the parade room to get changed!  I must say I love the dress.  A little bit hot in it even last night so I would never wear it for day parade, but still everyone said I looked really nice and I really felt the part in it!

So first parade was good.  I rolled out as usual (a little interesting in the dress) and did the whole blowing out of the lights with the kids (didn't really want to do PACtivities) and Jorden and his friend came and had a chat while I was doing my job hehe..which isn't much.  Then the parade came and as usual everything went fine...until we rolled up and I went back to the parade room.

Some stupid little (insert foul language here) had stolen my Ipod   I'm so frustrated right now it's unbelievable.  They also stole Yabom's and Kaori's MP3's and our cash...poor Kaori had $100 stolen so I feel really bad for her.  We told the managers, they called security and we had to give statements...so they're going to go to the investigators and see if there were camera's on the place at all and stuff.  But all in all I'm just beyond words.  Yes it was my own silly fault for leaving my stuff there, but I don't really have a choice.  It's no safer at the Jungle, but I don't have a locker down there and I'm  not going to keep walking back to my main locker at the entrance to the tunnels.

So I did second parade in a bit of a bad mood (ok a really bad mood).  Then came home.  Oh but when I got back to the Jungle break room (Kaori had brought my bags back because I couldn't walk in Adventureland) someone had stolen my ruddy jungle hat!  I need that.  The buggers!  So anyway I'll have to go without it and explain to the managers why I don't have one.  I'm really not in the mood.  Chatted to Jorden all the way home until he got off at Chatham.  Then I went to get changed and then off to Wendy's with Kev for dinner.  I was going to get some at work but didn't have the money because my $5 was stolen .

Grrrrrrrrrrr no one seems to care though.  I mean my Ipod is my life...music is my life, so what the hell can I listen to my music on now?  I need my music fix everyday and I know a lot of other bad stuff is going on at the moment which I won't and can't go into, but this is making me so down and depressed.  So from right now I'm not answering my phone or anything for the next few days.  If you want to talk to me or see me you know where I live (I guess this only goes for the people here LOL).  I'll still be on MSN for time to time but right now I'm not in the mood for people.

Right bed time.

The buggers.

17.7.2006: EVAC!

DAMMIT!  What the hell is wrong with my laptop?  Everytime I write so much stuff it deletes itself.  Well I'm not writing all of it out...I'll just do points because it annoys me when it does this.

  • 6 hours sleep, housemates make noise at 3.30am...I call security, they sort them out, I'm extremely angry and very tired.
  • Work at 9.45am, I had to cycle a boat and then was bumped so no spieling for me.
  • Got some re-ads as FP Merge...yay!
  • Thunderstorm came, rain delayed though, we went 101.
  • Kev's family came to ride my boat but we were closed  (all the way up to the end of my shift).
  • Bolt of lightning set our flick card machine doo lally, and also blew out all the lights in pirates.
  • (This is the part where it deleted itself...)
  • PIRATES EVAC!

Now this I will go into detail about because it was so exciting and so scary at the same time!  I've never been trained for Pirates evac (it was being refurbished when I was supposed to) so I couldn't really do much...but it was still a great experience.  Firstly...some of us had to go to the load dock and guide people out (there was a shortage on flashlights so this was hard as the guests couldn't see us) but we just told them to follow the flashlights.  Then I was had to move wheelchairs to out where the queue line is (thank goodness I wasn't stationed there...the skippers were getting attacked by guests...it wasn't our fault!)  I then spent a lot of time telling people to follow the yellow arrows backstage (and many were complaining that we didn't provide transportation...duh) and then had to go to load and guide the last few people out who were coming back from the caves.

All in all I got very wet (from having to run all the way from Jungle to Pirates in the pouring rain...and by that time Jungle had flooded so we had to run through huge puddles) but it was a very cool experience and one I hope to repeat again.

By this time it was time for me to go home!  So I got bumped out at 3.35pm    I was so wet and they put the airconditioning on the bus and I was freezing to death, so when I got back I got straight in the shower and got nice and warm again.  I then did a little bit of my essay and then headed off to Epcot to see Illuminations (as Kev was working).  He was stationed in the Illuminations viewing area in between the two shops by the lake, and I was right at the front.  Unfortunately behind me was about a million Brazilian tour groups and they made so much noise chanting and just generally being frigging annouying!  I think I almost went deaf!  But then the fireworks started and once again I was in awe.  I love the music.  In fact I've decided I love Illuminations as well as Wishes.  You really can't compare the two...they are totally different shows.

So then I hung around, singing to the songs they play after the fireworks and looking out over the lagoon, before I was dragged away by Kevina so we could go see Wishes at MK.  Didn't quite get there in time, but we did manage to see the end from backstage.  Then it was off to Cosmic Rays for dinnner (stopping in at the cone shop on the way to say hi to Lisa, much to Kev's distress) before his family got to Cosmics.  Then we all headed off to Liberty Square to watch Spectro...and I love how I know how to play with the characters...I made the Genie pull faces and got the pigs to shimmy!  We also saw my stalker  as he was rolling, so I quickly hid before Kev (kinda hard to do).  Hmmm

Anyway it's been a great day but now I'm off to bed!

16.7.2006: Work

Ok, so today was quite good actually.  I spent the morning online and once again listening to music.  I did however have to go to work for 6 hours...I hate the six hour shifts because they seem to go so slow!  Nothing particularly interesting happened anyway...except at about 9.25pm (10 minutes before my bump out) our coordinator all of a sudden ran up the hill towards the treehouse...I really wanted to find out what was happening (he did leave rather urgently) but I have to continue to unload boats as they came around.  Eventually he came back (just in time for my bump out) and told us that on one of the bridges leading to Main Street, some guests had been sitting on the wall on the bridge watching the parade and had fallen backwards into the water.  Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun.  I think they were ok, but other than that I had no idea what happened after.

So anyway I finally got to go home...but on the way to the tunnels I got a phone call from Kev (who always seems to phone at the right time) asking if I wanted to go for dinner with him and his family...so of course I didn't say no LOL.  So they picked me up from the Disney University and we headed off to Perkins, where I had a mushroom and swiss burger (honestly I think I'm addicted to them!).  Yum...we were then going to head off to Ghiradelli's for ice cream, but they were closed when we got there so that blew that plan out.  So in the end we said night and were dropped back off at Walgreen's where Kev and I went back to his apartment where I tried on my HOP costume (once again too friggin big! so I'll have to go get another one) and Brynna came over and we all ate chocolate (good Irish stuff at that ).  Then I headed home (in HOP costume feeling very grand but a little stupid with my jungle boots on) and now I'm off to bed!

15.7.2006: Nothing Particularly Interesting.

I guess the title says it all! Just another typical day for me. I woke up at about...1.30 I think, and just sat with my laptop and updated and requested days off (my birthday) and booked the first week of Mum and Rowans holiday in december (5 days at Coronado Springs...I'll have to book the rest later because it won't let me). Then I decided at some point I should go to work, and so caught the 4.33 bus to MK! Once there I headed over to costuming to get some new costumes and try to take out a Hall of Presidents (HOP) costume. They actually let me, but due to the limited number of CM's, there aren't many sizes to choose from and so the one I did get that was the right length didn't actually fit me. I might take it back tomorrow and try to get either a 12 or even a 10, because this 14 was massive, otherwise I'm going to check out a Mansion costume because that rocks. By the way I'm doing this in aid of my parade shift on Saturday because I'm fed up of wearing the manly Jungle costume.

Yeah so anyway the Jungle was the Jungle as usual. We had some decent people closing which I like because then we have more fun. I once again was the last boat (and it was a frigging wheelchair party as well....therefore we had to load the Bertha i.e. my boat) but they were so much fun and we had a great laugh. I'm now actually spieling in a British accent which is really weird because now I sound posh!

So yeah thats about it. I had to go to Walgreens to get some more credit because my phone died...but other than that I haven't done much. It's weird not going to Wendy's for once (not that I plan on eating there much anyway...don't want to get fat now) but I miss seeing everyone so right now I feel a little lonely. Oh well this Ben & Jerry's is helping (mmmmmmmmm cherry garcia) as it makes great comfort food, and now I have a craving for ice cream everytime I come home from work. Anyway I start work at 3.15 tomorrow. I'm going to have to check my new schedule on CDS because on the portal it now says I have Tuesday off as well as Wednesday and they're only scheduling me 35 hours this week. That's not enough! I happen to know that there are extra hours at the Jungle (sadly not the bakery *sob*) including one that just happens to be the shift I was supposed to be doing. Oh well I'll check tomorrow. Right now I'm going to finish this ice cream and read my book, "The Lovely Bones". Very interesting but a little sad and a tad creepy. So night y'all....oh wait.. I'm from England....goodnight!

14.7.2006: Such a good day!

Oooooooooooooh so even  though it was a nine hour shift, I loved today.  I spent the morning doing practically nothing and just singing to everything on my Ipod, before heading off to work early so I could go to Cast Connection and use my SSS reciept to get 20% off before the time ran out.  I bought a few t-shirts (including a very nice one from DLR) and a couple of hair clips (one of which is broken grrrrrrr but I'll get some superglue to fix it) and then over to evil Property Control where I got an Ariel crown (that's my collection complete now, I don't want a Jasmine one...oh but I do want a Tinkerbell one!) and a Cinderella purse which is very cute and a princess hoodie.  Woo!

So then it was off to work where I bought some food (I've got to start taking my own) and headed up to the Jungle.  And amazingly, most and indeed possibly all of my crews were great!  I even had one crew where a couple came up to the dock box and asked if they could write a GSF card for me (not that we have any at the box anymore, but Alex wrote a note of Robert to say I needed one) and they said I rocked and even told jokes they'd never heard before, even though they'd been on it many times because their daughter was a CP last year.

Then we had a dead boat which was so much fun because I got to mess around (I wasn't the dead boat, I was the third one behind is...in the Temple too, which is very funny because earlier Rebecca and I had been hoping a boat would go dead....little did she know it would be hers.  We had to go 101 as well because there were only 5 boats on the river and 4 of them were stuck out in the jungle LOL..so the other one had to be rescue hehe.)

Then during the last hour, I swapped with Rebecca so she was greeter and I was back unload...and Jerry and I practically sang our way to closing.  Oh I musn't forget Juan..who was translating in Spanish? I think.  Anyway we sang 'Part of Your World' more than anything because we can harmonise on that because we all know it so well.  We even sang it over the queue PA even though there was no one in the queue.

Anyway Jessica from the Mansion gave me a lift home...and now it's past 3am so I'm going to bed! Night!

11.7.2006: ooooh the weather.

Well today I had to get up early for class...which was horrible seeing as I didn't go to bed until 3am.  Oh well class didn't last that long anyway.  All we had to do was go in and show we had done stuff for our assignment...which I had so I was there for all of 45 mins.  I then came back and slept for a bit more before phoning Kev  to see if we were still going over to Saratoga Springs to confirm the booking for his family.  Surprise surprise he was still asleep (men ) despite having said "we'll go at 11"....boy does he annoy me sometimes .  Anyway so finally at about 1 (I think) we jumped into the D minibus and took that to the resort.  SS is very nice.  It's a DVC member resort and looks very posh...would have been nicer had it not been chucking it down with rain.  Then came the lightening.  And boy was it loud.  We took cover for a bit before running past the pool (which was overflowing) to where the buses went from so we could get to the MK.  Once there I dropped my work stuff off at the JC backstage and then we headed over to Pecos for lunch.  I love that place!  It was then that the SAD parade was cancelled and the Cavalcade was being done so we went and watched that whilst walking up towards HM.  On the way there we passed the Liberty Bell where the parade CM's where standing...and there Shanan was dancing awayy to the Cavalcade song (honestly it's extremely weird seeing a maid dancing to such a lively song....ahem)  But nonetheless she was very entertaining.  We were going to do the HM but the line was so long and so was the wheelchair line so we couldn't backdoor it.  But hey we headed over to Space Mountain where I used one of my many re-ads to jump the queue.  Riding that with Kev is hilarious...he makes the weirdest noises.  Anyway then it was over to the TTA where I fell asleep on it (hey I was tired) and then to Buzz where Kev beat me  ...er...only because my gun wasn't working...yeah that's it .  So we went to try HM again but the queue was even longer so we went to the front of the park where we went our own seperate ways...Kev of to work and me to watch the Flag Retreat until it was time for me to go to work.  The Flag Retreat is pretty cool...but not all that.

So work was ok I guess.  Not much went on except the usual stuff...but all my crews were great so I'm very pleased about that.  Obviously it was time for Wendy's when I got back so off we all went as usual and then had ice cream in the Pavilion.  Good job I have a day off tomorrow...I'm going to see Pirates...yay!

8.7.2006: Bennigans!

Well today I started work earlier than I usually do...but meh.  It was a usual night at work...none of the crews were particularly excited about being there but I guess that's nothing new!

Anyway I finished at 9.30pm, so Shanan, Vanessa, Kev, Jei, Jei's friend Julie, damn there's another person and I can't remember who it was! and me went over to Bennigans.  The waiter was weird and the service was rubbish but it was the best night out I've had in ages!  I had fish and chips...which the waiter forgot to cook so minie came late (grrrrrrrrr) but the puddings were awesome!  Anyway check out Jei's blog because she has awesome pictures!

7.7.2006: No HM :(

Today I didn't start work until 8.45pm!  How weird is that.  This is the day that they had scehduled me to work at the Haunted Mansion.  Really I should have just gone and seen what they would have done LOL.  But no, being the good CM I am, I talked to a few managers about it and they said come to Jungle.  So it was no surprise that when I got to work they were really pleased to see me! (There was a question mark on the board next to my name...grrrrr the managers should have told them I was coming in!).

So anyway yeah it was a good night...just worked as usual but we were a good closing crew.  bedtime now!

4.7.2006: Hmph

Grrrrrrr stupid schedulers...I was dead today...in fact I think everyone was...and on the busiest day ever!  Of course we didn't see much of it, but there was always a steady line of people at the JC.  Not much else to say I guess...except during the fireworks we gave up on speiling (well I think they did, I was at load with Lauren talling everyone to go away and watch the fireworks) because the guests couldn't hear us, seeing as they were going off above the JC.  I'm so glad I was a closing breaker because I felt dead...so now I'm really going to bed because Alex, Steve and I are going to MGM tomorrow before we go to the skipper partay at Steves house...night!

3.7.2006: Sad day.

Well tdoay was the last day Mum and Rowan would be here, so we headed over to Epcot to do some stuff.  As usual we went on all the normal rides...Test Track's audio wasn't working so that made it suck a little, I didn't so Mission Space as even the thought of it makes me feel queasy. so I just sat with Mum and read my book.  I also bought a Mission Space t-shirt (in the sale nonetheless) and also a giant popper thing., you know, those plastic half balls that you fold inside out and they fly in the air....awesome stuff!  So yeah we wandered around, went to the Electric Umbrella for lunch, shopped in MouseGear and also did Turtle Talk with Crush..which is the most hilarious thing I've ever seen, especially when some kid went on about how the Buzz Lightyear doll Crush was holding was made at Pixar just he was....haha good times.

So then came the time for Mum and Rowan to leave   We went back to Pop and got in the car...then they drove me back to Vista so they could take a video of my apartment.  It felt like we had been on holiday, even though I was always working, but I didn't think about that...all I though about was the next time we'd be meeting each day.  Oh well good things have to end I guess.  So they left to go to the airport and all of a sudden I became extremely bored knowing I only had work to look forward to.  Ah well.  I tidied up for a bit and then headed back over to Epcot to meet up with Kev so we could go to MK to watch the July 4th fireworks (although it was the 3rd, we were staying open until 4am...so I wasn't starting work until 9.15...although for a while I thought it was 9.45, so I didn't get to watch the fireworks with Kev anyway...I watched them backstage.  They were pretty amazing too...they shoot off all over the MK in a circle and we had the perfect spot backstage to see them all....just in time for work too!)  So back to where I was...yeah we took the monorail over to the TTC and then MK where I got extremely depressed...possibly the first time I've been homesick since I've been here...I reckon I just wasn't looking forward to the busy busy days that were coming up regarding work.  Oh well.

Anyway work cheered me up...we had so much fun just messing around.

Anyway I have to be back at workat 2.15 later on...so bed time!

2.7.2006: First swimming session since I've been here!

Well as the heading might suggest, we went swimming.  At Typhoon Lagoon that is.  I didn't realise that you could only get CM discount after 2pm, so Mum had to pay the full price...sucks, I won't be doing that again (luckily it was only for me as they had the water park bit on their tickets).  Anyway we had fun in the wave pool, lazy river and Crush Gusher (awesome water slide roller coaster kinda thing...jets of water shoot you uphill!  Rowan and I went in a double ring so it makes it so much fun!)

So the we went to Cast Connection before I had to go to work.  We had great fun buying stuff, especially these plates and things that had 70% off.  Gotta love that place!

So I headed off to work, although I was there an hour early, but I had brought a book to read so that was ok.

So I think it was today that we went 101 for 4 hours, but I can't remember.  Anyway we were down from the time I got there till over half of my shift had gone!  How awesome was that?  You can all probably tell now that I love going 101..just because it breaks up the day and we can have so much fun!  The only thing was that I got extended to be a closing breaker, which I didn't mind but I did kinda want to go home!

1.7.2006: Fantasmic!

Woo started work early today.  It seems to make the shift go so much faster, although I have no idea why.  Anyway most of my crews were good except for the odd few so nothing unusual there.  After work I met Mum, Rowan and Andy outside Pirates of the Caribbean...which has only just opened for the first time since closing a couple of months ago (I missed the Cast previews because I was at Universal).  OMG it's so amazing!  Honestly I thought Jack Sparrow was being played by a real person!  So after riding that we got the bus over to MGM to see Fantasmic!  We did ToT first (Rowan's first time ever hahahahaa so much fun) and RnR (thanks to just mentioning Brynna we got in the FastPass queue....kudos to me!) and then did the Great Movie Ride.  Having had a little fun we then went to sit down for Fantasmic.  I really do love this show.  As usual we left five minutes before the end so we wouldn't have to queue ages for a bus...well Mum and Rowan that is...Andy and I got the bus back to Chatham and Vista.  Mum did mention though that they got to the bus first so that was quite an achievement LOL.

So now I'm still trying to tidy my room but it's not working.  I'm going to bed!

28.6.2006: UK

So today I started work at the ungodly hour of 9.45am.  I don't know what the schedulers were thinking LOL.  So off I trundled to work feeling just a tad tired, and worked with all the morning people.  It was really weird, but nice because all the crews are really good and it's not too hot at that time.

So after I work I changed and headed over to Epcot, where I met up with Mum and Rowan so we could go eat at the Rose and Crown in the UK.  Luckily I already had resevations...and yay we were given outside seating!  It was great because obviously Illuminations was on at 9pm so we had a great view.  Also, Gemma was our food runner (she was very pleased we didn't have steak) and I had the bangers and mash.  Awesome stuff!  I love eating there.  I had the treacle sponge thingy for pudding (couldn't eat it all though...I mean we did have a starter too...prawn cocktail...yummy!).  So after Illuminations we headed back to Pop Century where I am now staying the night.  We're off to Busch Gardens tomorrow.  FUN!

27.6.2006: Scary PAC!

Wooooooo today was frightening...but let me start at the beginning.

I went to class this morning...it was a very short class which I was glad of!  So I came back and Andy came over so we finally met... (Alex interogated him...lol no change there then) and I gave him his SIM...finally it had come.  We then hung around for a bit, before going to catch the MK bus (Andy had to go to access control at the Disney University, and I had to go to costuming and then work!).  I've been so tired lately that I almost fell asleep on the bus, but oh well.

So I got to work and had a long time in the jungle before I went to night parade.  All my crews were average as usual...I hate having a long shift at the jungle before parade...I just want to go have fun with the guests!

But as we were walking to parade...out came the rain clouds as well as the thunder and lightning.  So we all chose positions in case we did have to roll out (I got to roll diamond side...which was weird because I always do river and so when they second parade actually happened, I was watching the wrong crosswalk).

Anyway...we all went into the empty Diamond Horseshoe show thingy (it's no longer used except as as meet and greet for Woody and Jessie) as it's airconditioned in there and much more comfortable than the tiny parade room.  So our coordinator Pete got around to telling us a few stories about then he worked at Peter Pan's Flight (he wanted us to have a talent show on the stage and he wanted me to sing but no one would suggest a song for me to sing so I didn't).  So there we all were...the coordinatoes, the managers and all us parade CM's...sitting like schoolkids on the floor listening to stories...when all af a sudden there's this massive CRACK, a bright flash of light and all the windows and doors shook.  Most of us screamed a little...and the managers went to the doors to find out what was going on...and we started to let guests in the shelter.  It turns out that a bolt of lightening had hit the ground outside (this waas turning into a pretty bad storm) and had basically shaken the building.  So as there was obviously no first parade...we started playing Duck Duck Goose! with all the kids in the DH.  We got a pretty good game going and contiued for a very long time...until the weather let off and guests started to leave.  Then we had 45 mins until we had to roll out for second parade.  So Megan, Coco, Jenn, and I went down to the Main Street Breakroom to get snacks.  A fun time was had by all.  We then returned to the parade room, where I popped into the DH because Anne was playing on the piano in there, so Juan and I were singing to whatever she was playing....we had a nice little show going on there.  But then soon enough it was time to roll out...we  off we went (Wishes did actually happen so I was singing to the post-show music).  Meh second parade was so so...the Genie threw his conductors stick at us (by mistake of course but it was funny) and soon enough we were finished...yay!

26.6.2006: AK and Rain!

Woah, slept in today by mistake.  I think I must have pushed the off button as well as snooze.  Oh well.  So I rushed around getting dressed and shoving costumes into bags before jumping onto a bus and getting to AK at 10.30am.  A little late I know but at least I got there.  So we went to Dinosaur (after the security guard had practically emptied out my entire bag with costumes in) and Rowan and I pretended to look like we were looking at a map for the picture.  It was quite funny hehe.  From Dinosaur we went on Primercal Whirl (ouch that ride hurts!) and then to It's Tough to be a Bug (I think, I know we did it but can't remember when).  I always lean forwards when the bees are going to attack because it always gets me on the spine and that hurts.  The bit when the bug spray gets sprayed was weird...it sprayed so much we couldn't see anything for a couple of minutes.  So after that we went to Expedition Everest, which as usual was amazing, although I must admit that the backwards bit does make my stomach turn.  Ah well, it was still good.  For lunch we went to the Flame Tree BBQ (diiiiiiiiiiiiscount).  'Twas very yummy.  After lunch though I had to go to work, so we walked to the exit and I got the bus to the TTC (it was already there so I had to run for it)

So then I got to work...and what an exciting time I had!  We went down for four hours!  So much rain and lightning that hung over Disney...and so that was half of my shift gone doing nothing!  Jerry and I spent a good time singing Mary Poppins at greeter, and then we all went up the stairs and up the ramp to keep telling guests we were closed (after the rain let off obviously....I wasn't going to get wet!)

So the rest of my shift went pretty quickly.  I was a closing breaker so I got to go home before we closed!

25.6.2006: Soaked again!

Hmmmmm today I think was another weird day.  I woke up and went straight to work, where in fact I was doing day parade.. Yay!  It was kind of hot when I walked to the parade room, but I did spot very dark rain clouds on the horizon.  And low and behold it threw it down (luckily after we had rolled out and put tape down).  Mike and I had opposite crosswalks so we were just bouncing the ball to each other when it started to rain.  So we continued to play (none of the guests were stopping as the rain was getting harder) and someone stole my raingear, as it was hanging on the rope.  Hmph.  The rain got really hard and we were told we could go under cover, so we did.  It was pointless though because we were soaked, so as the rain let off we went back out to play.  Then the rain came down even harder but meh, we had a fun time splashing around.  I've never seen the guests more entertained than they were then.  Of course we got told to stop (I don't see why, we weren't splashing guests and I wasn't going to complain about being wet, seeing as I brought it on myself!)  So we just stood around waiting for the parade.  It was delayed though and eventually cancelled.  Then the Rainy Day Cavelcade was put on!  You should have seen Mike; he's never seen it before.  We were all dancing around though because it's such a catchy song (I was singing it all day).

Sadly it was all over too soon, and we went back to the jungle soaked.  I then had to cope with a nine hour shift being absolutely drenched, and it was taking ages to dry off.  I hadn't brought another costume either so I couldn't change.  Oh well.  So I survived 9 extremely cold and wet hours.  Not that I could complain as it was all my own fault.  Ah well I came home and am going straight to bed as I have to go to AK tomorrow and get up early.

24.6.2006: So happy!

Today was awesome!  Despite getting very little sleep, I woke up at about 8 and headed over to Epcot for 10am where I was meeting Mum and Rowan.  I got there just before and met them outside Mission Space, to find out they had already been on Test Track.  Hmph.  So we were going to queue for it, but got Fast passes and went to Soarin' instead.  It said it had a 40 minute wait but we certainly didn't wait that long.  From Soarin' we went to Living with the Land, and the girl was as boring as hell.  I know they can make it fun, but she wasn't even trying.  So from there we headed to Innoventions to bug Kev.  He was at an amazing position...polishing magnifying glasses at this bug thing.  Great stuff!  So we decided to play Where's the Fire?  It's a nifty interactive game where each party on your team has to go from room to room finding potential sources of fires, using these torch like things (there are screens that you aim them at and you scan the screens for hazards).  Our team won, of course, and it was a lot of fun!

We then walked around the world, popping into a few of the shops and stuff.  We made it round to Mexico and into the San Angel Inn restuarant for lunch (of course we had reservations).  They gave us a table right by the water (the water in the ride that is; it's all indoors and looks like it's nighttime).  I had a pork soft taco thing and it was very nice; we didn't feel like pudding (there wasn't all that much there to be honest).  Obviously I got my discount, but Mum paid hehe.  So then we headed back over to Innoventions to do Where's the Fire? again, and of course we won because I'm just so amazing.

At this point I then had to head to work for 5.45pm.  So I hopped on the monorail over to the TTC and then over to MK.  I was going to go straight backstage, but then I heard that the Share a Dream Come True parade had been cancelled and that there were going to do the Rainy Day Cavelcade (I have no idea what that means) parade.  Yay!  The parade itself was kinda rubbish, but the song was sooooooo good; I need a copy of it!  Anyway so I headed off to work where I had a great shift!  All of my crews (except one) were totally awesome, the last one especially so because they laughed and joined in with everything and I really felt like entertaining them!  I wish the same could be said for all boats because the one bad one didn't even crack a smile, let alone laugh, and that was the one Mum and Rowan were on (they said they had got bored so came to ride my boat).  Anyway on the whole the night was good.  Now tomorrow I start work at 1.45pm until 1.15am...oh those lovely EMH.

Toodles xx

23.6.2006: ETH suck!

Ok, to today I really didn't feel like doing anything.   Of course last night (this morning) I got that text from Mum about the tickets, so I woke up at about 9, to go over to the Disney University (where Company D is) to get the tickets.  Of course when I get there, they tell me the machine isn't working and to try back in an hour.  So I caught the bus to the tunnels, dropped my costume off in my locker and proceeded back to West Clock.  There, I decided to go on a spontaneous shopping spree to Property Control (sorry, EVIL Property Control).  As usual I got some good stuff, including a black back with a crown on it (complete with gems).  Absolutely nothing wrong with it, so I'm extremely pleased.  I spent about half an hour there, before making my way back to Company D, where I bought the tickets (two 10 day park hopper with fun passes) as the machine was working again.  I then raced back to the tunnels, up onstage and to the front of the park to catch the bus to Pop Century.  It took no time at all to get there (I was worried about being late for work, as I was starting at 1.45pm and it was nearing 12pm) and went straight to front desk.  Here I checked them in for the second booking and left the tickets there so they would have them when they arrived.  I went to the foodhall for lunch (a quick one mind, I did have work to get to) and got a fired chicken curry flatbread thing.  It was really good, but extremely messy to eat (sauce all over the place).

So then I headed back over to MK for work..  I was kind of tired and certainly not looking forward to an 11 hour day.  First I went to day PAC which was fine at least; we were given bubbles to blow and it wasn't too hot.  Sadly though it was all over too fast and I started work at the Jungle.  The first 45 minutes was great!  I was at dispatch (i'e' slacker) the whole time, because Melissa didn't realise that DISPATCH had been added to the top of the rotation and had bumped around me.  Fine by me!  I did nothing the whole entire time.  So then I was bumped out to go to a CP Round Table; basically a meeting with the CP Champion (which is wasn't because he's on a cruise; it was with my homeroom manager instead).  We talked about stuff to do with being CP's and generally stuff I've neard before during training.

After that exciting adventure (well we played follow the leader because no one else knew where they were going and I did as it was the same place that we used for the bakery) I headed back to work for a 6 hour shift.  Now usually that's not bad but this time it dragged on and on and on and on and...you get the picture.  Mum and Rowan came to ride my boat (at least I knew they got the tickets).  It was a good crew and they all clapped for me which was nice.  Anyway I kept looking at my watch from about 10pm to see how long I had left (and I was working until 1am).  I didn't get that many dead boats either, as the loaders didn't realise that to be fair, is a boat has had guests and the boat behind it has gone dead, we don't load it.  Well I guess they are new, but I was still pretty mad about the whole thing.  Then Laura came to load and I think she realised how I was feeling and so I went around dead a couple of times.

So then I came home and Kev and I went to Wendy's before heading to the Pavilion as usual.  Tomorrow I'm getting up to go to Epcot.  Yay!

22.6.2006: One more day...

...to go and then Mum and Rowan gets here and I get stuff!  Yay!  So anyway, about today.  Started off early I guess.  I had to be at work at 1.45pm (but not doing parade, so that's kind of a weird time to start).  I was only in for a 7 hour shift, but it was a fun one!  My rotation kinda sucked, but I had awesome people in it so that was ok.  The crews were quite good too.  At one point we were stuck behind a dead boat and I managed to keep talking the entire time (mostly about attractions and such) and got a few rounds of applause at the end...woo!

So it all went pretty fast.  It was extremely hot and humid though and I was dying in my polyester costume...it's horrible, because at one point we had back unload.  It's in the sun and usually it's ok because you have a bit of time to stand in the shade before the next boat comes, but they just kept coming and coming and coming and wouldn't stop!

So after work Kayla was going to give me a ride how...but then we decided to stop and watch Spectro (because we finished early).  We didn't get round to watching though (we did ride the Mansion...hehe) instead we went over to mansion where Alex was finishing up, and he showed us kinda backstage (i.e. behind the stretch rooms and into the load area with the lights on, which is kinda weird).  Then she gave me a ride home! LOL.

So of course...as soon as I walk through the door..Kev  phones and basically just says...Wendy's?  So off I trundled to the bus stop to wait for him..and we went to Wendy's.  Just got fries this time because I had a funnel cake at MK.  Then we met with Shanan and headed to the Pavilion (our new hang out...chairs are uncomfy though) and talked for a bit.

Then I headed home and got a text from Mum (who must have been at the airport).  They've forgotten the frigging Disney tickets!  The most important thing!  So that means tomorrow I have to go to Company D, purchase some, and then go over to Pop Century to leave them at front desk. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Oh well night.

21.6.2006: What a day...

and night I guess seeing as it's 4.30am right now (and I have to be up at 10....oops, well right now I'm just not tired).

Having slept all that time yesterday, I woke up at about 10am, and slobbed around for a bit because I had nothing to do.  I did go to the postbox to see if the parcel for Andy had arrived, but it hadn't so I told Mai to not throw it away if it did arrive (she was going to the mail room later) when she told me that it did arrive but she didn't know that it was meant for here (seeing as it didn't have any of our names on it).  Fair does...why do delivery people always come when I'm in the shower?

So then I headed off to work, but went in normal clothes (shorts and my cool new Alice in Wonderland t-shirt) so that I could go to City Hall to book restaurant reservations.  So I got off at the TTC and hopped on the monorail like I usually do, and arrived very nicely at MK.  So then I headed to City Hall and proceeded to book a table for Saturday at the San Angel Inn, in Mexico, Epcot, for 1.30pm...and then for the Rose and Crown, UK, Epcot on Wednesday at 7.30pm, just like Mum ordered.  Easy peasy.  Then low and behold, I stepped outside and as it had rained earlier, they were putting on the Character Cavalcade (rainy day parade) instead of Share A Dream (I guess it must have poured it down just as SAD was about to start).  Now the actual parade sucked, but the song was so catchy!  I want a copy of it!  The characters were mostly in the Main Street vehicles rather than snow globes so it was a little lame, but fun anyway.

I then headed backstage and took the bus to West Clock, where I went to costuming to get some small shirts (they had run out a couple of days ago and I only had one dirty one) before heading back to work!  Now work wasn't all that exciting...I was only doing 6 hours so not much happened...oh except Aladdin's Magic Carpet's blew up!  Honestly it did.  Now I didn't hear it as I was in the jungle 'doin' ma thang', but apparently there was an almighty KABOOM and they had to (obviously) stop the ride.  Now according to our ATT people, two of the tires in the base of the ride had burst (wear and tear they reckon, just like any normal car tire) but hehe, no wonder we had such long lines at Jungle!

So that's my little bit of exciting news for the day.  When I got back (having taken the lost and found to City Hall...I had to wait 20 minutes for Spectro to head onto Main Street before I got to access it...a custodial CM told me to go over to Tony's Town Square and walk over...before I reminded him that as an Adventureland CM I couldn't do that) I found I was starving, and as I hadn't anything I wanted to eat, despite having gone to walmart a few days earlier, Kev and I decided to head to Wendy's.  Shanan, Shayna and Ben also came along (although I think we scared Ben a a bit with our strange going's on....especially with Shayna laughing like Donald Duck...classic) before we headed back.  Ben went home, Shayna went off to play poker, and us three went to the Pavilion (no surprise there).  Spent a long time talking and contemplating and thinking (very bad idea...leads to depression) before Shanan headed to bed.  Kev and I stayed a bit longer, before I walked him back to his block this time.

Now I'm here and should really be going to bed, but Alaina gave me this book for me to borrow and it looks very interesting and I want to start it...oh well.  I start at 1.45 tomorrow and finish at 9.45 (odd times) but that's ok.... I think I'm gonna need an early bed!  Anyone who wants to come watch DVD's with me after work is very much welcome.

Night y'all.

18.6.2006: Mornings...

...are just so much fun!  So yeah I woke up at 7, got all ready in my costume and trundled off to MK where I had breakfast at the Mouseketeeria (sausage omlette and hash browns...oooh I do love an omlette) and then headed off to JC!  It was so weird working with all the morning people, but omg the crews were awesome!  We had so much fun; I loved being there and knowing I was making them laugh!  Actually most of my crews were awesome except for one ot two.  So then the afternoon came and the old crowd of skippers all came in.  I was actually on greeter at one point and omg I've never had so much trouble with the fastpass machines!  They all kept getting stuck and eating tickets (although one guest put another ticket in to dislodge the first one that got stuck, so then we had to call maintainence to get it out, which was ok because now I know how to do it!), although at one point I had to call the coordinator over to help because the frigging flickcard machine was beeping away and guests were going into the queue with wheelchairs and strollers and stuff, so it was all way out of hand!

It did finally calm down though and my rotation became awesome!  We had dock assist (i.e. slacker), greeter, the Gertie (boat) and Back load, then break!  How incredibly great is that?  3 dock positions and a boat.  Dock assist did get changed to Pirates Greeter (because ATT can't frigging staff their own positions) but that was so much fun...I was givenn two swords and basically danced with them to Adventureland music telling people about a million times that the attraction was closed until July 7th (as well as telling the EMH wristband people when their own EMH were....c'mon people get with it...oh the guy also told ME when Pirates was opening...hello the 7th not the 6th!  I know the Tell-A-Cast says the 6th, but that's where refurbs finish...it officially opens on the 7th...duhbrains).

So it's been a pretty fun day.  The only problem is that I got out early and now have nothing to do.  Hopefully someone will get off work soon (probably not) and free me from my boredom (and I know Shanan is doing EMH...why I'm not is beyond me, and I think Kev finishes soon....you owe me for making me miss out on shopping  what Shanan said on her blog was so true!) but I might just stick on Narnia (or RENT, or both!) and make some toast and jam....mmmmmm....not literally make the jam, just spread it on.

So toodles everybody....two days off now and I have no idea what to do with them...anyone else have days off?  I've texted people but they're not replying...does no on like me anymore?  Hmph

................................................................

Ok so Kev texted me about 12am (I think, I have absolutely no sense of time here) and I met him at the bustop, where we proceeded to his apartment (obviously as it's nearer) and chatted about rubbish for quite a few hours.  Almost fell asleep on his floor many times (he wouldn't let me go home until he had finished his blog, at least I got to hear it first hand and add my own comments ) before he finally let me go and we walked back to my block (scared of getting attacked by scary stalker guy who still keeps asking Yabom if I like him..get the hint!  I run in the opposite direction whenever you're near duh) and then I carried on watching Winnie the Pooh (one of my roomies had got it out of the Learning Centre so I started watching it before I went to Kev's...it's such an awesome dvd...I want it) before finally shutting my laptop and falling asleep!

17.6.2006: Hmmm...

...crazy day and I don't even remember what happened.  Not much I guess.  As usual all the guests were brain dead, but most of them were good cruises.  Not much else to say except I've just got off work and have to be back at 10am tomorrow!  Mad!  Just simply mad, don't do this to me people!

16.6.2006: The Rain, Rain, Rain Came Down, Down, Down...

...And most of it on me.  Oh yes, boy did it rain yesterday.  Now normally this isn't a problem because either I'm in doors, or at work where I couldn't really care less.  But today Shanan, Kev, Brynna and I decided to go to the outlets.  The only problem was that just as we were about to leave, it chucked it down (and I mean chucked it down...I had to return to my apartment to get flip flops because I was basically walking in a lake, and now my sketchers are drenched).  I didn't end up going anyway.  Kev took so long in getting ready...he was only just getting in the shower when I arrived at his apartment a little after Shanan did...and you couldn't have done this a couple of hours prior to this Kev?   So by the time we were all ready it would have been pointless for me to go because I would have had to come straight back again to go to work.

Work was interesting.  I guess we must have gone 101 that day (as there was lightning) but I'm not sure because apparently they only got a little rain shower...lucky.  Some of my crews were just plain boring, the others absolutely loved it.  I had one boat with just one family on it (which is a little weird but the little boy had a gun so I played off that!) but they seemed to enjoy themselves...and I did get two GSF cards yesterday (granted one was for the other day when I did pactivities with Laura, and so I wrote one for her, but the other one was from a guest) so it was a good day!  Even EMH were kinda fun, we had a good group of skippers and we mostly get on well (except for a couple of us...i.e. Yabom) and so we all headed off to IHOP afterwards (on the way picking up some mansion people, making us a nice group of 13 I think...freaky) and yum a good time was had by all.  I had a Colorado Omlette, which is an omlette (obviously) filled with all kinds of meat like sausage and bacon and stuff, as well as green peppers and had a salsa sauce.. t'was yummy!  It also came with pancakes, but I couldn't eat all of those.

So then we came home and now I'm mega mega tired.  Good group I don't have to start work until 5.45 tomorrow.  Night1 xx

13.6.2006: Awesome PAC!

Today was great!  First I went to day parade (getting soaked as I walked from the Jungle to Liberty Square because it threw it down!  So there I was hoping for a rainy day parade, but once again the rain held off and even turned sunny!  No fair! .  At least we didn't have to do any pactivities (which I don't like doing at day parade...too many people walking up the street and it's not the same atmosphere) and the parade went quite quickly!  When we got back the Jungle had just gone  back up from 101 (a tree had fallen down and blocked the river) so we all got back to work.  Luckily it was only for 3 hours and then I went back to parade again!  Tonight's parade was AWESOME!  Once again I rolled, and therefore had to watch the HOP crosswalk (Hall of Presidents).  On the other side was Kyle and Laura was doing wheelchairs...and we got a good game of catching the ball going and stuff like that.

Second parade was even better!  This time there were hardly any guests in our area, but Laura, Mike, another girl whose name I can't remember, and I played duck duck goose with 3 kids, and more started joining in.  We also played the hokey pokey and Mickey Says, as well as getting everyone who was there to blow out the lights with us (a lot easier at second parade where there's not many people there).  So all in all it was a great day.  I came back on the bus with Shanan and we waited for Kev to get back from work (he actually finished after us!) and went to Wendy's.  It was a great night, and luckily tomorrow is my day off! Woo!

12.6.2006: Normal Day

Today I was a lot happier than I have been so all was good!  I just did a shift in the Jungle, nothing special so not much to report on.

11.6.2006: Stoopid work.

Today was the longest day in the history of my career at WDW.  13 whole hours!  2 of those were at parade (where it rained so we got delayed in rolling stuff out because it was lightening too and we're not allowed to walk outside when it does) but it didn't become a rainy day parade  which I've never seen before so really wanted to!  After parade I went to do my 10 hours stint in the jungle.  Luckily I wasn't the only one but we were all kind of dead by the end.  I've never wanted to go home as much as I did last night (home as in my bed, not home home).  Oh well we got through...and now I'm going to collapse into bed for 6 hours of sleep before I must get up again... toodles!

10.6.2006: ITM!

Pretty uneventful today, except Ricky from the Inside the Magic podcast came to record me!  Talk about nerve-racking.  As usual the crew was horrible so I didn't get that many laughs...but oh well.  It was an interesting  experience LOL.  Can't remember anything else... and I'm not in the mood to update.

9.6.2006: Oh dear

Today was slightly better than yesterday but not a lot.  Once again I got up and went to work.  How exciting.  I went to day parade first but didn't get to roll  so was stuck on wheelchair (never choose number 3...this is how we pick positions at parade...you choose a number and then we have a lottery to see where everyone goes) and once again mine was drawn last.  I should have kissed the horse! (to cut a long story short the other day I said I wanted to roll, so Alan (coordinator) told me if I kissed the horse (nasty and dirty) I'd get it...so I did and what do you know!  My number was drawn first!)  So yeah anyway at wheelchair I basically have to tell any party with no wheelchairs in it to go away!  Not a spot most people want.  Oh except William (Babs) started doing chalk lines (you know like in crime scenes) around kids with the masking tape (we use it to tap the crosswalks so guests have to stand behind the lines) so that was awesome, and I played a few games with the kids.

It was way too hot today.  That's the one bad thing about working at the Jungle Cruise...on hot days everyone wants to ride it because it's sit down and in the shade...they don't even listen to the frigging jokes!  So yeah I went back for my 4 hour stint at the Jungle...went by quite fast actually..and then went off to night parade.  This was a tad better.  I got to roll (yay!) and we played games with the ball (it had Cinderella on it!) and blow out the lights with our pixie dust...and then I did second parade!  Exactly the same, except it was a lot more crowded than it usually is at second Spectro...I had to tell people to move out of my crosswalk which is amazing (and hard when you're trying to play!)

So yeah we got off and 6 of us went to the Ale House (and Kev sorry about that phone call but it was just mega loud and I couldn't get up to go outside!  And I'm in a right huff anyways  woe me.) and as usual I had a burger yum!

So now I'm going to go to work just so I can get up and go to work...again.  Hope everyone working in Disney is ok...the way I'm going it's very likely I'll never see any of you ever again unless you work AD/LIB.

Signing off....depressed xx

oh hang on one more thing... I found out that the bat thingy in Spectro (can't remember what film or character it is...c'mon it's late) can only open 3 times throughout the whole route!  Down Main Street, before the castle and in Frontierland....otherwise it would hit something!   So only about 500 a night get to see it open.  I never knew that...kinda interesting I thought.  Right.  Bedtime.

8.6.2006: Anyone out there?

Today sucked if I have to be honest.  First I had to work at 2.30pm but I was ok then.  Listened to a great many Disney songs so was all hyped up...and then the bus drive just made me mega tired.  So yeah I arrived at work for my 5 hour stint at the Jungle, but my heart just wasn't in it.  The guests were only there to sit down and be in the shade and just didn't get half my jokes...honestly..you have to be British to get it grrrrrrrrrrr.  I don't know why I'm so knackered I got plenty of sleep.  I thought maybe I needed a day off, but I just had one!  So then I went to parade which I thought would cheer me up (and I was rolling again ) but no I felt extremely down in the dumps again.  Did some awesome pactivities (but once again no credit for it) and it rained a little but not too much thank goodness.  I think I came to realise that I've heard a lot about what people have been doing lately and I'm just fed up with having different days off to anyone else and working the most stupid hours on the planet...on Sunday (I think) I do day parade AND THEN nine frigging hours in the Jungle!  Whoever came up with that shift has lost their minds...I shouldn't be made to close AND do day parade...I'm gonna be dead, and I still have to work the next day! and at 1.30 no less!  Don't expect me to be in a good mood Monday...I could really use a hug right now  One of those depressed days I guess I just didn't realise it till now, and of course I never let anyone know at the time because I don't want them thinking I'm slacking or just rude for some stupid reason.

And GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I have a frigging stupid assignment due and no time to do it because I work all hours of the night!  Someone please put me out of my misery NOW!

7.6.2006: Oh What A Night

Tonight was pretty eventful to say the least!  First I did a two and a half hour stint at the Jungly Cruise where at one point I went round 4 times (grrrrrrrrrrr to the person who missed their bump!) but then I did go to FastPass Distribution (and annoyed Sarah (greeter) with my renditions of the only verse I know from 'Stick to the Status Quo' from 'High School Musical', and 'There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow') before being bumped out to go to parade!

Now parade was a lot of fun (it is Spectro afterall) but boy did some things occur!  First I was pulled over by one woman in the wheelchair section where she told me something had fallen out of one of the guests strollers that they shouldn't have had (these guests had beenn asked to move from the wheelchair area) so I had to go find Tony so he could sort it out, and all in all was a little scary LOL.  Then I did some awesome pactivities, all by myself this time!  So I had about 20 kids all playing the hokey pokey and Donald Donald Duck, and Mickey says.  Finally I went back to my crosswalk where one family asked if I'd be their babysitter! LOL.  How funny; apparently I'm good with kids .  So all was going well until Heather came over with a family to ask if they could be placed by the rope when the parade started because there was no room in the wheelchair area.  So of course I said yes, but then one parent got frigging annoyed because this other guy was 'blocking' his daughter's view...so they started shouting at each other.  It was at that point I had to tell them to calm down and remind them that there were young children around and everyone would be able to see.  Although in his defence the other parents played the 'my child is disabled' card which was a little out of line because so what?  They should have got places sooner than 5 minutes before the parade got onto Main Street!

So anyway...then during the parade some dumb teenages decided to cross out of the ropes in between the parade!  Hello those ropes are there for a reason!

I went to watch Wishes after that before the next parade and then went back to work!  Second parade was easy, though we still got some good games going.  No GSF card though .  Don't know who the manager was but he never once smiled at me even though I did whenever he passed.  Plus I was doing pactivites while hardly anyone else was and he didn't even notice.  Totally sucks.  Oh well the parade was delayed because they had to call an ambulance for someone (one of the characters I think) so that was a little late starting, but I did get out before 12 still which was awesome, now I'm home and not looking forward to work tomorrow because even though I have night parade, I still have to work at JC 5 hours beforehand.  I also have to go get my new Vista Way ID  tomorrow before I go to work so yay.

Night x

4.6.2006: EMH

Well tonight there was no PAC, so I just jungled it for 7 hours.  When I got on the bus to go to work it started pouring it down and then there was lightening!  But by the time I got off the bus it had stopped  so JC came out of 101 just as I started.  Oh well, there wasn't that many people around at the time.  There was however a steady queue of people all the way through EMH which was a little odd.  Oh well then I came home..not much news today.

3.6.2006: Awesome PAC!

Well today was mega awesome LOL.  Let's start at the beginning.  First of all, today was Gay Pride Day.  Meaning that hundreds of people were all wearing red t-shirts.  Now I thought this would make for some great crews, but no, they were just as dull as any other day.  As usual, the heat and lack of shade and AC makes people grumpy on the JC.

But then at 7.30pm I went to do Spectro PAC!  And it was the best so far!  Once again I rolled and got to cover the HOP crosswalk, so Jamila and I took it upon ourselves to do some major pactivities!  First we rounded up some kids, then first did a rendition of the Hokey Pokey (just as my old manager from the bakery, Dana, who now is a manager at Stands West, walked passed and I'm sure she was a little surprised to see me there) then we played Mickey Says, then got everyone to sing It's a Small World and THEN we played the longest game of Duck Duck Goose (or Donald Donald Duck as we call it) I have ever played...and for some reason all the kids wanting me to run so they kept choosing me to be the duck!

But it was all worthwhile, we had a great time AND got GSF cards at the end of the parade!  Awesome that's my 12th now so I'm so happy!

Anyway I got off the bus at Westclock and waited for Kev to arrive on the A bus from Vista, then we hopped back on and went home...first stopping at his apartment so I could see his costume, then stopping at mine so I could change, and then going off to Wendy's for dinner!  We then came  back to mine to eat and then found out that they were having a party in Shanan's apartment so she came over here and we all had a good natter!  For like a couple of hours LOL!  So yeah they left a few minutes ago and I'm now going to go to bed.  I don't have to be at work until 7.45pm tomorrow so a long lie in for me!

Nighty nighty pyjama pyjama (just for you Jack!)

2.6.2006: Work

Today started off with day PAC.  It wasn't as hot as it could have been which was great because I hate doing PAC in the blistering heat, but the only problem was that we couldn't do many pactivities because there were THREE guest bands....talk about a lot of roping and unroping my crosswalk (I rolled out the rope so I got to watch the Breezeway and then sit on the carts to watch the parade!).  One of the bears from the Country Bears (don't know which one, I'm not a huge fan!) came and played with my hoops and stuff so we did have some fun...he also marched after the marching bands...hehe!

So after that I went back to the jungle and worked forever!  A whole 10 hours I did today and did it hurt my throat or what?  I think I may lose it soon.

Oooooooooh and yesterday I got the most exciting news!  A few weeks ago I went to audition for ENCORE, the Cast Member Choir and Orchestra, for a place in their next show 'The Spark of Creation' which will feature songs from hit broadway musicals and Disney songs.  Well they emailed me the results yesterday...and I got in!  I'm so excited.  Rehearsals start on the 21st June and will be 3 times a week (in the evenings though so I will have to go see a manager about that with regards to my schedule) and perfomances will be on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of August at the ABC Theatre in Disney's MGM Studios!

So yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

1.6.2006: Dole Whip

Today was so frigging awesome!  First I got up (mega early) and hopped on the bus with Shanan, Shayna and John to go to Epcot!  We went to Test Track first, then Soaring, then over the World Showcase and basically spent our whole time there!  We made it a mission to get a picture of all us wearing hats at each country (John's camera has most of the pictures so I'll get them from him).  It was so much fun hehe.  We did Maelstrom, and El Rio des Tiempo (methinks that's what it's called) and then went to eat at Alfredo's in Italy.  I had the most gorgeous spaghetti and meatballs, but was so stuffed I couldn't eat it all...it wasn't that expensive either, especially with discount.  So yeah it was all fun, then John went to work (in Canada) Shayna took the bus back to Vista and Shanan and I went by monorail to MK so we could go to work!  We got there a little early so we went over to Aloha Isle in Adventureland and had a Dole Whip!  My very first one as well and damn are they yummy!  We then went our seperate ways and I went to the locker room (via the bakery entrance where I saw loads of people I know  so it was like a little reunion! hehe) and then raced against the clock to get ready for work.  I also met Ana (bakery) in the locker rooms with her new trainees and it was so good to see people and now they know who I am LOL...so I won't just be some randomer coming to work next Tuesday.

Work was ok, very short as usual.  I had a fair few good crews (especially this one UK party who needed the wheelchair boat, which was my boat, and they were just awesome guests and laughed at everything!  We need more parties like that!) and even got another GSF card! (my 11th now yay...3rd at JC!) so all is well!

Right bed time, I start work at 1.45pm tomorrow...as I'm doing PAC...yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Night y'all

31.5.2006: Buffalo Wild Wings!

Ok so today was pretty awesome!  Had a lot of great crews (as well as another one that didn't speak English grrrrr) and yeah did lot's of work (in truth I can't quite remember everything and I know I had lots of awesome stuff to say but oh well ).  Then after our shift all the skips and some ATT people went off to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner!  It's an awesome place over at crossroads and it was karoke night (which might explain why it was a little empty hehe) and the food was awesome and cheap!  It was just like one of our nights our at the bakery (damn I miss those guys  it's so depressing) except we were all AD/LIB!  So yeah I finally came home and I'm now going to bed because I have to be up early because Shanan, Shayna, John and I are going to Epcot! Yay fun morning out before we go to work LOL.

Toodles.

29.5.2006: Erm...

I can't think of a title for this post because nothing special happened!  Today started off horribly because I woke up in a bad mood, and things weren't helped by Mai talking loudly on her cell grrrrrrrrr and then going back to sleep so I couldn't dry my hair in our room. Grrr .  So yeah I went to work feeling all bleugh,  but I was ok by the time I got there. I bought a salad for lunch (I don't know why, I don't like them...they put brocoli and gross lectuce in it, so I might just make my own and take it with me...in an attempt to be the slightest bit healthy!) and some oatmeal and raisin cookies (because they are awesome) and then  made my way to the Cruise!  My rotation was ok today...I didn't get swapped anywhere and bascially did the same four positions all day!  So that was: Zelda, Front Unload, Nellie (argh damn boat) and then Break!  I was front load for a little bit but that was ok.  I don't know what maint. did to the Zelda but she's flying round the Jungle so fast that she keeps catching up to other boats and missing sensors!  The hippo's didn't come up 3 times in a row before I realised the boat only needed to be on half speed.

I did have one crew however that I think didn't speak much English or were just plain rude (or I was awful) but they didn't laugh at anything and just stared at me.  That's horrible because it makes it very hard to spiel when you know the crew won't laugh.  So I just did all the boring OG stuff seeing as I wasn't going to waste my good jokes on them.

My last crew of the night however was frigging awesome!  They laughed at everything, joined me in a rendition of 'It's a Small World' through the temple and basically just thoroughly enjoyed it!  That's the kind of crews we need all day to keep morale up.  Although I must say this, I hate Yabom when she comes into dock and I'm unloading, because she puts on this high sqeaky voice which goes right through me.  Not to mention that she repeats everything at least 10 times!  Oh and Hibo lol...started calling the guests 'sexy'!  Hello! You're not allowed to say that.  I really don't think many people at the Cruise are too impressed with them... me included!

Oh well once the closing skips get off we're all supposed to be going to Bennigans if the Chatham people can find a way to get home.  That will be fun, and they invited me which must mean something!  I'm starving as well (as usual ).  So hopefully we'll go.

Anyway I have class tomorrow morning, at 8am (oh yay) but I don't know when I'll be getting to bed.  But at least there'll be a few hours between when I finish class and go to meet Kev, so maybe I'll go to the gym and then sleep for a bit.

Oh yeah, and we seem to be the only people in our block!  I guess all the other CP's left so our apartment is the only one occupied.  Sp I guess that means that the CP's coming tomorrow and the ones that came today are all coming here...I guess...who knows? LOL we don't know anything around here.

Right I can't think of anything more to say.

Toodles!

28.5.2006: Nothing Exciting

Once again I worked.  Nothing special happened (oh except I got another GSF card )  I started at 7 and finish at 2am (which was stupid...I hate being open for EMH because the guests are just dead and don't laugh.  Which is horrible for the skippers because you can't spiel properly).  So yeah and then I came home and Mai is still up meaning I won't be able to dry my hair in our room tomorrow morning because she will be asleep.  I'm very tempted to do it anyways just to wake her up because she wakes me up all the time by turning the tap on full blast of being on the phone and not leaving the room!  That's just rude.  As you can probably tell I'm not in a good mood, but that's what lack of sleep does to you.

27.5.2006: SAD and SMP!

Yaaaaaaaaaaay today was frigging awesome too!  First I went to costuming to pick up some more costumes, and also found that they had a large skipper hat (as my small one didn't fit), so I exchanged that.  Then I went straight to day parade (SAD).  It was mighty hot though; I almost melted.  It was fun however and made the day go a lot faster.  So then I went back to the jungle for four hours...and you know what...my first boat died again.  And it was the same frigging one as last time!  I think the Irma has something against me.  At least it died at dock though and not in the jungle!  So I got to take that back, and then was put as dispatch (meaning I had to stand at load and dispatch boats at 58 second intervals) for like ages.  The at 7pm I was told to go out the front and basically straighten strollers and greet guests and stuff with the rest of the SpectroMagic parade people (SMP).  At 7.30pm we all made our way over to the parade room, where I chose to do the rope.  That's very easy, it's just rolling out the rope and then rolling it back up when the parade has finished.  That also meant that I got to watch the HOP (Hall of Presidents) crosswalk.  That's an easy place because it's not a major crosswalk.  Ooh and I met Shanan today (Canadian, works at HM (grr), also know's Kev) so that was awesome.  And then Pactivities!  Ryan and I had an awesome time playing with the kids.  First we had a hula hoop contest, and then we played 'Mickey Says' and then we did loads of Disney trivia!  Oh and I had an awesome conversation with a little girl (who must have been 3 or 4) who had been to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and was dressed as Cinderella, and we did some dancing and stuff .  Ryan and I also had a great chat with her parents and all in all it was the perfect guest contact, and the managers noticed as well  (each of the parade areas has like a little competition to see who can do the best pactivities...we won at day parade hehe, despite getting rubbish toys to play with) so all is good!  I love night parade because it's cooler (notice I say 'cooler') and the kids are more willing to play.  Plus I love that parade.  It's a lot different to day parade though.

We all go to sit by the bell like we would during day parade (that is when all the ropes are up and the parade starts), but then instead of being there right until the end, right before the fish floats come along, we have to dash to the other side of the route, run all the way to the bridge (that goes over to the hub), wait until the ostriches have gone past, then run along the bridge to  a little inset when there stantion carts are kept.  It's all very adventurous!  I love it though.

Second night parade was kind of dead, and I didn't have to tell anyone to keep the walkway clear, and the good thing was that as I was rolling, I didn't have to help Frontierland take down their ropes because I had to take the cart back to where it was usually stored.

So all in all it has been another awesome day.  I just hope it's not as hot tomorrow, although I don't start work until 7.15pm (yay).  Only one SMP parade next week  but hopefully I'll get more as time goes on...

Oh.. and it's now 22 hours (give or take) Kev!

I'm going to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Toodles xx

26.5.2006: 101!

Well today was certainly interesting!  First of all, when I got to work, there was no coordinator.  Now usually this isn't a problem, but they hadn't assigned any of the CM's just clocking in any positions, so we were left to do basically nothing but perm greet (meaning we stood outside and greeted the guests for a while!)  We did this for about 20 mins (all 8 of us) and then Robert (coordinator at the time) came over and told us they had had to evactuate HM, although I'm not quite sure why, so I'll find out.  And then... dun dun dun, we got news that there was a storm in the area.  So there we all are standing at the dock box waiting for positions, when we hear a clap of thunder and a flash of lighting.  So we all cheered and clapped, and then waited patiently for Robert to get a call...which he did...meaning we went 101!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaay the cheer from the skippers was so loud you would have thought we'd won the jackpot on the lottery.  I'm not quite sure what the guests thought was going on!

But then came the rain, and did it come down or what?  So there were a load of guests sheltering in the fastpass distribution area, so a whole load of us skippers went out in the pouring rain, and reinacted the Jungle Cruise for them because they couldn't ride it!  It was so much fun.  About an hour later we went 102, so were up and running again, and things carried on as normal, except there was a lack of guests in the park, and we were open until 3am!  I did however get my first Jungle Cruise GSF card today  yay!  apparently one guest said "She was great. Really funny!" so there we go. Hehe

But now it's bed time because it's tomorrow already. Night xx

24.5.2006: Hyperness

Well today was awesome!  First of all, I woke up really hyper which I haven't done in ages.  So I trundled off to work and went to evil PC!  And bought some awesome stuff hehe, like a 2005 Disney Cruise Line scrap book, and the scrap book stuff for it, a rose cushion thingy (because it reminds me of Belle LOL) and some other stuff.

So then I went into work and my first boat died on me  luckily right at the dock...they had just loaded all the guests on and then I went to go into the jungle...and nothing.  Not a thing happened, so we had to unload the boat and then all the skippers on the dock had to grab hold of the boat and run whilst pushing so I could get backstage. Once there I had to push it all the way back.  So then I had to take the Sal out, which hadn't been cycled so I got to go around dead for one trip...and then I got bumped to my next position!  So no spieling for me for the first half an hour!

The day was really good though and the guests were excellent.  I think it was because I was hyper that there was a lot more energy in my spiels and at least one person on every cruise said they really enjoyed it   I just wish they'd tell the coordinator at the dock box and not me LOL.

So I closed as usual, and once again Kayla gave me a ride home!  Then I went over to Guillermo's for food (yummy I was starving).  It was really good!  Then I came home and fell asleep on my bed all fully dressed and laptop still on, but I did wake up and now I'm going to bed properly! Night xx

24.5.2006: PAC and JC!

Yay PAC was awesome today.  We played games at PAC, including the hyper hokey pokey and Donald, Donald, Duck! LOL. One child lost his parents but they found it other... it was a great reunion lol.  So yeah after PAC I went back to the Jungle and did my thing! Nothing unusual happened, except we all had some pretty weird boats today, especially at the end of the night   Brian and I got so bored because we had no one to  unload, we played noughts and crosses on the dock box. Hehe.

Kayla have me a ride home, and she put some Hindi music on... and it turned out to be Kal Ho Naa Ho!  OMG, because I so have that film and love it!  So that was a bit of a coincedence wasn't it?

Anyway bed time!

23.5.2006: Class and Work on the Same Day!

Yes would you believe it, I had to be up early for class and then go to work! Class was interesting though but we have a lot of assignments to do as well as work!  Then I spent a couple of hours at home and then went to work!  Work was ok, I was on a boat and did a lot of dock positions.  And thats about it!

22.5.2006: Bakery

Well technically this was my day off but because I'm such an awesome CM and the bakery just love me, I took extra hours there.  This time it was 6 hours long and I was actually closing! Woo so I did my stuff at work and then got close back of the cone shop.  So all in all it was great to see everyone again (who was still there).  It was like old times, as Lisa said.  So yeah we had a lot of laughs.  Anyway I have to be up early tomorrow for class so night!

20.5.2006: 6 Hours!

Yep another 6 hour shift today.  Not much went on except erm.... yeah I worked.  I actually closed today, which is no where near as complicated as the bakery.  We just take the boats back and leave!  I had to take lost and found over to City Hall, and then got to go home!

19.5.2006: PAC

Happy Birthday Mum!!!

So yeah today my shift was only 6 hours long! yay... and the first two hours was PAC, so I went over the the PAC meeting room and was last to be drawn from all the numbers so I got to do Breezway/ Roll, meaning I had to roll out the rope.  Not too bad of a job I must say.  Then I got to sit down on the stantion carts and watch the parade!  Well actually I had to watch the guests but a lot of it is watching the parade.  And a lot of the characters shook my hand and patted my head LOL.  So yeah after that I went back to JC and started my four hour shift there.  It was ok, although it was the longest four hours ever!  I got out late though because Chris' boat in front of mine broke down, so we were stuck at the African Veltz for ages...luckily I only had 6 guests on my boat (because it was a wheelchair party and they knew the boat in front had broken down as we pulled up to load more people... but they sent us anyway.  So yeah then I came home and did some washing.. woo! the fun.

18.5.2006: First proper day as a Skipper!

So yeah it was my first day today...and they were so nice and gave me 11 hours .  Let me tell you.. I was knackered by the end of the night.  I got a pretty good rotation though, mainly FP merge and boats... and I got 5 breaks!  That's how fast the rotations were going.  I did have the rope boat and the wheelchair boat a couple of times though.... that's scary because when you dock you have to be very careful.  Anyway so yeah.. 11 hours....it was hell, but of course I loved every single minute of it.

17.5.2006: Extra Hours

So yeah today I went to MK with Steven... actually I went to the post office first and walked all the way over to DTD to save me from having to wait an hour for the bus.  So it was chucking it down with rain today, but that meant the park was empty and almost every ride was walk on  except for some reason.... JC   We did Splash and I got soaked, but oh well.  At 5.15pm I went to get ready for work at the Bakery... these were extra hours so I was only working for 4 hours (and even then I left early).  They'd had like no guests in the cone shop all day, and had only opened one register, so at about 7pm they closed it... woo!  So obviously I was sent to the Bakery, at busser/greeter for a bit, then register until the bakery closed.  It was great being back!  So I've signed up for Extra Hours next Monday...six hour shift this time.

Oh and today was also my first class!  So I had to be there at 8am  but the Cm who takes it (Corrie) is great and so funny so I'm sure we'll have a laugh!

15.5.2006: Check Out!

Yaaaaaaay today I became a fully fledged skipper of th jungle!  First this morning we went over the opening procedures, cycled a boat and then went over some exam questions.  So then later on we went and did lots of the dock positions (except greeter because nearly everybody has been a greeter at some point if they have already worked in Disney before.  We did wheelchair boat and helped set that up, roped the rope boat when it came to dock, went and did load and unload for ages, learnt how to do queue (actually we did that before the park opened, but I forgot to add that) and did fastpass merge (where the fastpass queue merges with standby) which wasn't hard, fastpass just get loaded on the right and standby on the left... depending on how many people are in each line.

The we started to go live again.  We got in a few practices before we had to go round with another trainer doing a live spiel, so he could judge how we did... and then along came the manager... Ron.. (yes I now have many new managers to learn the names of... 9 this time instead of 7!!!)  So yeah I did my check out spiel...which went very well considering it was a rubbish spiel...the guests were quite a good group.. they laughed at most things... except at the hippo pool we missed the sensor so they didn;t come up, then nearly missed the native sensor because the boat in front was going slower...so I had to slow right down through the Temple so it took us ages to get through it, and then there was a massive back up right up to the Indian elephant bathing pool... and I had to make sure the back of the boat didn't get wet when another boat came up behind (thats the point where the elephants spray water in the path of the boats).  I then had to think of so much filler material because it was taking ages to unload people up at dock.  But we got there eventually...and Ron said Sarah and I were both outstanding  yay go us!  So Ive come home, have eaten and am just about to go to bed because I have early class tomorrow!

xx

14.5.2006: Going Live!

Woooooo today was so good!  The best thing of all was that we went live!  And how easy is it to spiel to guests?!?!  Very easy, that's the answer.  Yeah they may not laugh, but at least I got the practice in ready for tomorrow!  Yeah so we went over a lot of the exam questions (multiple choice, not exactly hard) and did some more dock positions (like load, because that requires counting and stuff and knowing what you're doing).  But all in all it was a typical day training, just going over stuff we already knew!

13.5.2006: 2nd Day!

Well today was a little more interesting.  We opened again and went over a lot of the boat stuff.  We were allowed to cycle boats (which has to be done before a boat can take guests, even if it's in the middle of the day) and then basically went over some of the dock positions.  So pretty much what we did yesterday but in a  lot more detail and doing a lot more positions.  Nothing much different really.  We did a few journey's as a dead boat (no guests) and spieled.. it's a lot harder when there are no people in the boat!

But tomorrow we go live!

12.5.2006: Soooooo Tired

OMG... today was awesome, but I'm so knackered.  So yeah today was my first day JC training.  The reason I'm tired is because I didn't go to bed last night.  We went to Steak 'n' Shake, waited for about 45 mins for them to serve us, and then left to go to McD's drive though.  Serves them right.  Then we went off to DTD to take some pictures (this is at 3am by the way) and took some great ones, but then got told to leave by security because lorries and things would be passing through and it was a safety concern. Grrrrr we were having fun too.

Anyway back to today.  It was awesome!  I got my spiel, I got to drive the boat!  Obviously no guests on board, that would have been scary.  We got to check out all the animation and where everything is kept and how things work and such.  Did a lot of theory and then went through the spiel (loads of it is absolute rubbish but that's the JC for you... we have to use this stuff until we 'check out' (basically assessment) and then after that we can use what we want within reason, so not stuff that will get you into trouble!)

So right now I'm dying so I'm going to bed at 7pm!  Woo not used to this, but I have to be up again at 5.30am tomorrow.  So not used to these early shifts, but it's ok because it's only while we're training!  Like at the bakery I will rarely have to open (it's a seniority thing) so I'll be back to those night shifts (though not as late as the bakery) Woo!

Anyway... night xx

11.5.2006: No Bed for me!

Well today was actually good.  Didn't do much in the morning, but at 6.45 I started work at the Bakery (I know you're like..huh? I thought you left there?, but I picked up Allison's shift because I only got 29 hours this week and that barely pays my rent).  It was great to see everyone again (even though I had only gone a few days ago I missed them like mad) and it was kinda weird to see new people as well (probably not knew, I'd just never seen them before.)  So yeah it was only a 6 hour shift, and I closed.  So left at 12.45am....

So today was Laura's last day, so we're all going out in a mo, but I thought I might write this up.  I'm not going to bed because by the time we get back it will be time to get up...and I have my first JC training so I'll be knackered but oh well.

9.5.2006: Boo and Woo!

Yay today started out boring and has ended on a happy note so yay!  Firstly, training was kinda rubbish.  I had to wear this super sexy MK costume  shorts.....ew....and the first part of the morning was computer work.  We did have to go outside at some point and it was chucking it down with rain.. and there's me with no wet weather stuff.... e.i. my poncho!  So I'll have to get one some other time because apparently I'll need it!

So anyway, our trainer was kinda weird too.  He kept going off the point, and all I wanted him to do was tell us what we needed to know!

So at least I don't have him again, I have a very nice trainer called Nic on Friday.  We did PAC in the afternoon, well I say we did it, but really we watched the others do it, seeing as we were training and didn't know what we were doing!

So then I came home and didn't do much except for some washing.  And then I decided I'd go off to MK (to see if anyone wanted to give me their Thursday shift....I'd gone in earlier today to see if there were any going but the managers said to ask people or look on the portal).  Except things didn't go quite to plan.  I got the bus which would get me at MK for nearly  9pm.  So ok I'd miss the beginning of Wishes, but oh well.  So then I had this great idea of getting off at the TTC and getting the Monorail over in time to be let into the park.  The stupid monorail decided to have a quick service (not food ) at the TTC, and of course we stopped off at the resorts as well, so by the time I got to MK they wouldn't let me in.  So annoyed!  So then I got back on the bus and came home.  What a fun night.  But then Allison texted me wanting to know if I wanted her shift on Thursday (and of course I said yes!) and I picked one up on the portal for next Tuesday after class, and might take some of Lisa's next week as well after training (because training tends to be easy and I'm only doing 8 hour shifts in the morning... money money money!)

So now I'm making a wishes thingy for my wall (picture will come later) so I'm gonna get back to it!

8.5.2006: 1st Day Training!

Well today was Ok for the most part.  I spent this morning riding all the attractions in Liberty Sqaure and Adventureland so we would know what our attractions where like (which of course I knew anyway )  Hehe the JC breakroom is nothing on the Backstage Bistro, and it's not that far over there either so I may be popping back from time to time!  Anyway, yeah so that's all we did today, except go get our costumes.  Tomorrow I have to wear a general MK costume, as we are training for PAC and then Friday I get to wear my JC costume!  The shirt is too big so I'll get another one tomorrow, but other than that it looks awesome!

The only trouble is they only scheduled me for 30 hours this week, and with all training you know you're going to get out early.  So therefore I desperately need hours (hint hint all you bakery people, you know that's the only place I want to work).  They gave me 3 days off, which normally would be great, but only if I was getting 12 hour days on the others.

Oh well, I thought going to attractions would be easy.  It's hard getting off work at 4pm when you know you should be going to work at that time.  I have to  be up at 5.30am tomorrow to go to work, and the hard thing is that now I can hardly ever see everyone because we all work different shifts.  It depresses me so much I keep bursting into tears  and I don't want to!  This should be a happy time.  To all those at MSN...just know you are sorely missed.

I should go to bed... it's nearly 10pm.  Wishes time  so depressing.

6.5.2006: Last Day/Night/Morning

Oh dear, it was my last shift at the bakery today (well the cone shop really, the bakery was closed as it was Grad Nite again).  It feels so depressing to be leaving, even though I'm not leaving really.  Anyway, I spent the night basically doing nothing except taking pictures and singing (except Eric kept telling me to shut up, not very nice is it? )  Anyway, I didn't cry anyway (only because I was all out of tears  and I don't think it had sunk in that I was actually going.)

Boohoo, so I finished at 4am but waited for everyone else to close (cos I'm lazy like that) so we could go have pictures outside (now available on photobucket).  You can't really see the castle but it's a cute picture.  Heather gave me this beautiful picture frame with Wishes in it (lol I'll put up a picture sometime because it's easier to show you than describe) and it's now currently hanging on the wall above my bed keeping all my wishes for me (love ya Heather!)

Anyway day off tomorrow.  I have to go back in to get some stuff signed off, so I might as well go for Wishes!

Night xx

5.5.2006: 2 More Days!

It's very sad, I don't feel like crying though, I feel like I'm in shock really.  Oh well.  Today was another Grad Nite, and I started at the very weird time of 5.30pm.  Hmmm.  Oh dear my laptop is making weird noises   I dropped off the end of my bed just now and now it has a nice scratch in the corner.  I need a new one...anyway.

So yeah I was in cone shop all night because the Bakery wasn't open.  I actually got to be a greeter!  And it was so much fun.  We went down to City Hall to get more maps and had a great laugh.

Omg, I also was in the elevator with Teddy Geiger! (If you don't know who he is, google him!) and he actually spoke to us...that's my claim to fame.

So I spent a lot of the time taking pictures and singing with Dan and basically having as best of a time as I could so I wouldn't think about tomorrow   Bed time I guess because it's very late.

4.5.2006: Hmmmm

Today was ok I guess.  It started out fine, then went all depressing and then was great.  I started out by doing freezers with Laura.  First we had to empty out all the ice cream and stuff from the bakery freezer and put it in the outside freezer.  Then we had to clean the freezer out and put everything back again.  AND we had to stock the ice cream as well...

Then I was put into the cone shop and made filler...and finally got my break after 6 hours   by that time the Mouseketeeria was shut ansd boy was I not happy!  I don't think it was that though, because by that time I wasn't hungry, maybe it was the culmination of knowing I didn't have long left, and being tired (as usual) and being nervous about JC   I guess I just feel pressured because everyone kinda expects me to be good at it and I really want to be good at it.... but what if I'm not?  Ah well maybe I'll just sing to everyone instead of telling jokes

Anyway, after work Lisa and I went to Wendy's and basically ate the entire place, before wandering back to my apartment and crashing.

3.5.2006: Early Finish!

Woah today was a short shift which is so unusual!  I actually left at 10pm and didn't know what to do with myself when I got back.  Anyway, nothing much happened at work, except the ice cream was so cold it was too hard to scoop, and now my wrist kills.  But other than that, not very eventful.

1.5.2006: Sing!

Omg today was awesome, even though I didn't expect  it to be!  First of all, I was in the cone shop for most of the time, making waffles, scooping, stocking, register and filler! So all of the positions lol.  Secondly, I spent my whole entire shift singing (and no one told me to shut up which was great haha, oh except Eric (manager) but he was only kidding.... I think ).  Heather actually asked if had ever thought about a career in singing, and yes, my secret ambition is to one day perform on Broadway (or West End, I don't really care so long as I'm singing!), not so secret anymore I guess.

However, today was also the day that I realised I would really miss working at the Bakery.  Not because I love my job (believe me I do) but because I'm going to miss everyone I work with!  I know I'll still be able to catch up with them and stuff, but it won't be the same because we'll be doing different shifts and in different locations and some people are leaving, and I guess I just don't like change.  I'll definitely have to do some extra hours though...I can't just leave the bakery!

I better get some sleep.  Night xx

30.4.2006: Early night!

Well today was one of those normal days where nothing much happened.  Except it was a nice change from Grad Nite's and being in work earlier was good as it meant going home earlier!  However, as I expect every night, I was extended to doors (yes for once I was actually going home before the place closed!) But oh well.  I was in cone shop most of the night, and then we were told that the bakery would be closing at 10.40pm (instead of 1.40am because of EMH; in my opinion they should have closed the cone shop and not the bakery because during EMH, the bakery is usually the only thing open, and they would have had many more gusest, as they don't necessarily need ice cream).  But anyway, Sara said I was going to close the bakery (which annoyed me like hell because I really wanted not to close!) But in the end, I ended only closing most of the bakery, and going home at my original time of 12.45am..  So I came home and had a hotdogs (from Caseys we were given yesterday!)

I can't wait until Wednesday.  I'm going to Epcot with a load from work  I was supposed to be going to Miami, but I work early on Thursday and I'm not getting up mega early Thursday morning to spend 6 hours travelling back to Orlando.  Plus I don't think I really want anymore sun.  (And tbh, Disney is always going to win over!)

Anyway I'm off to update my itunes with the ITM podcast.

Night xx

29.4.2006: 2nd Grad Nite!

Hmmm today was slightly better.  When I got to work, they had closed the bakery so there was only the cone shop open.  Good idea, but that left a whole lot of people with nothing to do!  We even had the bakers scooping because obviously they couldn't bake.  We also had extra hours people and they were mostly greeting guests outside, which I would have loved to do but didn't get the chance .  So really nothing happened.  It was really slow again so we stood around a lot doing nothing, but finally the night ended, early actually because there was four of us closing the cone shop instead of the usual 3.  We were allowed hotdogs from Caseys (damn I'm going to miss the free food when I go!)

Grad Nite is NOT Fun

Today was a pretty long day seeing as I didn't start work until 10pm.  It was nearly dark by the time I went to get the bus which was kind of odd.  So got to work and was put in the bakery which was dead.  The only people we had come in were high school seniors asking where the toilets were.  I then swapped with annoying Russian guy and went to the cone shop!  Just as dead but we had a better view of everything, though it did pick up as the night went on.  I finally got my break 4 and a half hours after I got there, and when I got back I had to help dining room stocker stock all the drinks (because she was busser/greeter too and it was busy and all the waters had gone).  We weren't going to stock it all up, but as annoying Russian guy was closing dining room, I decided I did actually want to get out before all the morning people started coming.

So that was my oh so fun Grad Nite, and I have three more to look forward to, aren't I lucky!

27.4.2006: Extended Again :(

Today started off good!  Laura, Sara, Heather, Aimee (Heather's sister) and I went to play in the MK, because it was Aimee's birthday (she works at the Tommorowland Speedway!)  First we went to the Liberty Tree Tavern (no waiting because they knew the manager there!)  I had a burger which was sooooooo nice, and the chips were proper thick ones!  So of course we did some rides, Pirates first, then went to get a FastPass for the JC, then went over to do Buzz Lightyear (I think my gun was broken, I only got 600 ) and then Carosel (sp?) of Progress.  Good fun and we all sang along!

So the we went back over to JC and hehehe the guy was so funny.  I can't wait to start working there!

I finally said bye to them at 4.30, so I could go and get ready for work (I had put a costume in my locker on Tuesday).  It was madness when we got there.  So many people had called in and we didn't have enough CM's!  In my opinion we should have closed .  Anyway, Laura and I were told we were being extended to close, and I was so looking forward to leaving at doors .  Oh well we got to choose what we were closing, so we both chose line.  When it got later, it was so busy that even the managers where having to help!  I was in the cone shop scooping, and we ran out of waffle bowls!, so we had to grab them as soon as they were made.  Then we kept ruunning out of ice cream, and then was no stocker and only two scoopers (usually there's 3 and scoop two can go get ice cream in between orders) so we went to bottoms, but the ice cream was so hard it was taking forever!  Talk about a crisis.

So we finally closed the doors, and then set about closing.  Laura and I were really fast, but we still didn't get out early.  We did get hotdogs though which was cool (though I would have prefered a GF card or three!  Haven't had one in a while!)

So anyway, we didn't get back till late grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

25.4.2006: Yayness

Well today was another great day!  I don't know what's been happening, everyday is great!  Perhaps it's because Spring Break is over or perhaps it's because I'm so excited about going the Jungle Cruise!  Anyway, as I went to bed fairly early last night, I got up at 9 and actually did something for a change!  First I went to Walgreens to get some more tight's and I also go this little device that gives out mist (like the Disney fans that you put water in but without the fan) and it doesn't need batteries, you just pump it.  It's great!

So then I trundled off to the Magic Kingdom, where I went to Cast Connections and Property Control (evil yes I know) and spent some money...woo!  I can't wait to get paid on Thursday though, just to boost my funds back up!  Plus I have CMU fee's to pay next month .  I then went into the park and did  the whole of Adventureland in 2 hours! All except Aladdin that is.  I even did the Swiss Family Treehouse, and the Tikki Room, and of course Jungle Cruise, as well as Pirates ( well might as well get another ride in before it closes).  I then went over to Tomorrowland and did the TTA AND Space Mountain!  It was only a 20 minute wait, but I didn't even wait that long!  I love slow days.

Though sorry Mum, I didn't go to City Hall because one I totally forgot about the annual passes, and then I thought you said you going on a tour would be better at Christmas, so I didn't know what to do.  And I didn't get your text till just now!  I'll ask when I'm there again on Thursday.

So work was also great!  It was very slow so was easy peasy and we all had a good laugh!  It was great that the park closed at 9 as well, so we all got out before 12am.

Oh well only 12 days to go now!

Night, Skipper Lou xxx

24.4.2006: Woooooooooo

Today was awesome too!  I was in the bakery for most of my shift today, but I didn't mind because as Spring Break is over, the park is sooooooooo empty!  So we were hardly busy, except for just before SpectroMagic and Wishes.  I didn't even close today and got out at 11.15pm!  So that's unusual, I guess I'm just not used to it because we've been closing so late for two weeks.

Only 13 days until I go to JC!  I really can't wait but I must go and buy some shoes and white socks.

Anyway, going to bed now so I can get up and go to Walgreens for some more tights, and then off to the Park to go on JC  and I'll have a nose around Cast Connection, Company D and Property Control...sorry Kev.. eeeeeeeeeeeeevil property control.

Night xx

23.4.2006: Perkins!

Hmmmm today was very good  First of all, on show 55 of the ITM podcast I was mentioned and congratulated on getting a role on the JC!  It was so awesome I had to listen to it at least 10 times before I decided that was enough! Anyway, work... Once again I was in the cone shop for most of my shift, and the great thing was that we closed at 12.40 again, instead of 3am!  It was great, but really weird to see all the guests still wandering around after we had closed.  I closed the back of the cone shop with Laura, so easy peasy, and then we all trundled off down the tunnel, piled into cars and went to Perkins for dinner/breakfast (I had dinner).  The pie there is soooooooooo good.  I had the caramel apple pie and omg I could have eaten a whole one!

So anyway I work at 3.30pm tomorrow so that will give me about 5 hours sleep, so bed time it is! night!

22.4.2006: Sara come back!

Argh... one of the CDS coordinators who left before I arrived is now back, and she freaks out at the tiniest little thing!  It's so funny to watch, like when she goes to carry things she know she shouldn't (because apparently she has metal plates in her back) or when someone clocks in and gets an assignment when you aren't supposed to (like one of the extra hours did that, and omg did Patti have a go at her! Not veyr fair when the girl didn't know otherwise.)  So all in all a very funny day.  Once again I was in cone shop all day, and even got my break when Wishes was on!

So after work we all went to Steak 'n' Shake and I think I nearly ordered the whole menu I was so hungry!  It was very good though and only $10!

21.4.2006: Eeeeeerm

I cannot remember what I did except I was in cone shop all day

20.4.2006: Skipper Lou!

Heeeeeeeheeeeeee today was rather awesome...well most parts.

I started work at 1.30pm which is slightly unusual for me, but I was due to finish at 11.45pm so who cares!?!  I was on bakery register for about 10 minutes, before I was asked to do freezers (rotating the ice cream).  It was fine but they couldn't find someone else to do it so I did it by myself for about half and hour.  Until...omg they gave me annoying Russian guy to help.  I hate him grrrrrr.  He took so long giving my the ice cream in the bakery freezer that it got too hot (therefore the ice inside starts to melt, therefore raining on my as I was sitting on ice cream under the fan).

So we had to take a break, so I got sent to scoop ice cream, and that's what I did for the rest of the night!  When I came back from break, Sara handed me a piece of paper, and it showed my schedule for my attractions training!  AND omg I got Jungle Cruise!!! Even better than the Haunted Mansion I've decided because there's so much more to do, and I can make that costume look good too!  So now I need new shoes.  Everyone was jealous and all said they would come ride my boat... so I guess I'm going to get a lot a full boats!

So I got out at 11.45pm (they didn't ask me to extend for once!) and came home by bus

So not tired though!

18.4.2006: Soooo tired

018 - Ashton's flower

Hehe work was just the same today as any other day.  Although I was in the cone shop a lot which I love because it's so more interesting that the bakery, although I was on bakery register for a while as SpectroMagic and Wishes was going on.  The I went back to the cone shop to scoop because I was closing back of cone shop with Jonny...and Dan was there so we sang loads more hehehe so loud that some guests even heard over the noise.  I even sang my dishes song.. which Laura wants to video for some strange reason.

It seems weird that I leave in 18 days...but then so is everyone else in May and I wouldn't want to stay and have new CP's come.

So anyway Jonny and I closed back of the cone shop which is like the first time I've done it since training, but it's soooo easy.  But at least I know how to do that now.

Jonny gave Jose and I a lift back to Vista hehe so I got back...oh an hour ago, but I'm not that tired.  Good job I have a day off tomorrow!  Laura and I aren't going to the Florida Mall anymore because she has to work and besides the other Laura who was going to take us has gone to Tampa...I don't mind, means I can go to Walmart instead, and maybe see if they have any room for GKTW in the evening.

So I guess I should go to bed... I'm hungry though.

Oh another thing that happened today was our toilet got blocked grrrr... so we had no toilet to use in the whole apartment!  Thank goodness I was going  to work!  Room 2's toilet was already blocked because they dropped something down it and maintainence can't seem to understand that they need to get it out!  Ours is all sorted now though which is great!

Right night night xx

17.4.2006: Sing for meeeeeeeee

Hehe today was so much fun!  First I was cone shop stocker (or slacker depending on how you look at it!) with as usual the cone shop crew!  I then went on break for an hour and went to the Mouseketeeria for food...mmmm and got Lisa stuff as well... aren't I nice? hehe .

So after break I was back in the cone shop on scoop 3...and then Sara came along with her pot of poker chips and I had to pick out my closing thingy...but I got line as usual  yay.  I was then put on line stocker in the bakery (this position makes me nervous, but it was even worse tonight..) and I was going to swap with Wendy, but then Sara sad no because one of the bakers doesn't like her (and I really like Sara so I wasn't going to argue!) but Wendy wouldn't take no for an answer, so Sara told me not to fill at all.  I kept getting evil looks from Wendy until we closed... and then she tried to harvest the food that had been sitting on display on the line all day!  Stupid woman.

So anyway, finally she left and Dan and I were left to close line while Lisa did machines...and Dan and I had a right good sing along...we practically sang everything to Wicked, and the Rent and some Disney things.... I didn't even realise we were finished!  And everyone finished half an hour early!  OMG it's a miracle...we all thought we should get GSF cards (hmm haven't had one in a while ) we did get sandwiches though... yummy!

So anyway it's very early in the morning... time for bed!

#3 Jezika's crazy star jar #16 - Laura's yummy jar of candies :-) goldfish Care bear in a jar :-)  God Bless America! :-) #12 Truffle's little buzzing bee in a jar :-) Blue butterfly in a jar :-) #14 Angelique's little scuba diving guy in a jar :-) #6 Tennyo's sweet little jumping froggy :-) Green worm in a jar :-) little ship

16.4.2006: Early Close

Well I thought today would be horrible!  But actually it was quite fun, especially as we got a nice surprise at the end of the night!  First I was put in the cone shop to scoop with the rest of the cone shop crew (mainly CP's and such!) and had a great time...hehe...especially when this very cute CM came in wanting a recovery for a guest...and I was like...no!  I'm giving him the ice cream! Haha.  Then I had a nice break, where I went to my locker to get my IPod so I could listen to it when we were closing.

So all in all it was a good night... but then!  We closed early!!! OMG..at about 1am they closed the doors...so we didn't have to stay until open until 3am and then leave at 5.15!  I was closing machines, but my IPod kept my company as I listened to past ITM shows and I got machines done pretty fast when I had something else distracting me.  The Jose, Jennifer, Megan and I went and met up with Lisa, Jonny, Laura and Laura (who had left at doors) at Steak 'n' Shake for breakfast (well I had a burger, fries and hash browns so hardly breakfast!)  It was good though and we had a good laugh!  I love those times.

So right now I'm not tired at  all but I guess I should go to bed as the others will be getting up soon!

Night xx

15.4.2006: La la la

Hmmmmm I don't really have much to say except that work was good, even though everyone who closed last night was soooo tired.  Anyway once again I was closing... and I got line! woo I'm so good....so we didn't take that long to close as it was spoil night.  And that's about it for me today!

14.4.2006: Filler Time

Hehe I forgot today that we had a new CDS Coordinator coming in.  She's not really new but she left for a few months before I started so I didn't know her.  Anyway... I'd heard lots of stories so was a but wary of her, but she's ok I guess.  A little paranoid about some things and doesn't usually have a clue about what she is doing ... but oh well.  So today I was stuck as bakery filler for almost my entire shift, except for half an hour where she sent me to the cone shop to fill for a guy going on break.

But ooooooooooooomg closing was hell.  I was doing line (woo) and the bakery finished on time and did everything well... but grrrrrrr Pavel was doing front of cone shop, and apparently he hasn't been trained to close anything except dining room...so what the hell is he doing here?  But anyway...when you clean the front of cone shop it's basically clean everything you can see.  Now apparently he had cleaned the waffle bowl machines but there was still dough all over it, so we all started to clean it and our manager told us to stop because he had to do it.  Hello! it was 5am...we wanted to go home!

Anyway after work we went to McDonalds for breakfast at 6am...yummy hashbrowns.

13.4.2006: Oh dear.

Now I know it sounds like all I do is moan on here, but if I told you everyday about the great stuff you'd all get bored because really it's all the same.  But today did start out great!  I got up at noon and spent the afternoon chatting online and went to the Disney Learning Centre to check my schedule (which I couldn't do grrrrrrrrr) but I had it written down twice that I started at 5.45pm and that was correct LOL.

Everything was fine until I got to work and was stuck on register for four hours.  Now I love register but not for that long standing in one place!  Oh did my legs kill.  I then switched with Natasha and went to cone shop filler, and then swapped with Jose to do waffles (whilst Wishes was on so I got to sing woo! )  The Sara put me on dining room stocker which meant I had to come into contact with a guy who I absolutely hate and he just annoyed me like hell... I wanted to slap him so much .  So that didn't put me in a good mood!  I did eventually get my break at 11.15... a whole 5 and a half hours after I started...and of course at that time nothing is open and I only had one dollar so I had to get some crisps which really filled me up ... I hadn't eaten since lunch...so basically I was just running on Disney Magic which wasn't working too well...and then it was decided that I was going to close machines instead of line and I hate machines so that annoyed me even more... and then all that along with being tired and worrying about what attraction I was going to get in May, and then Eric (manager) asking if I was alright...well let's just say Emily said she would do machines for me and Eric let me go home at doors .

Now don't get me wrong... I LOVE my job and I love being here and I'm having a great time, but there's a limit to what I can do and after this week everything will go back to normal...I mean after next week... that's going to be hard because I don't have a shift that's any shorter than 10 hours.

Anyway so I feel much better having a decent sleep and I'm going to work early so I can have dinner... and we finish at 5.45am so we're going to go for food afterwards!

Oh and Kev I'll take those pictures tonight... I totally forgot my camera last night and due to circumstances was in no fit state to be taking pictures .

11.4.2006: Oopsie!

Woo well today was great up until I started work at 6.45pm OR SO I THOUGHT!

I must have looked at the wrong time for this week because I thought I started work at 6.45, but oh no, it was actually 6.15.

Now I would have been on time if the bus hadn't been late, and it then hadn't got stuck in a traffic jam outside Vista.

Oh well not much I could have done about it, I was 10 minutes late which means 1 point, but I did explain, and it's 3 points before a reprimand and 4 reprimands before termination in a certain time period, so I'm quite sure I'm ok .  They usually let it go if it was a one off (as some people constantly say the bus was late etc etc.)  So I was a bit annoyed then, but I cheered up as the evening went on.

Got to work in both the bakery and cone shop! which is a plus, and the bakery was actually fun! Probably because we had some fun people in there and it wasn't busy!  The cone shop was heaving and when I was scooping I had orders backing up (though Emily was going a bit fast and the ice cream was rock hard).

At the end of the night I closed line (again woo!) I always get that now because I think they know I can do it well with whoever I'm with and there's very rarely anything that needs to be done when all the cleaning is checked (unlike the people who do machines and ALWAYS forget to clean the milk fridge,... duh it's right there!).

Ohhh we got a sandwich each too... turkey and brie I had... don't actually like that but I was starving so ate it anyway on the way home.  We were waiting for the bus and a minibus turned up so the four of us for Vista piled into that.  It was nice to actually be able to sleep on the way home!  We got back so quickly though because we went straight to Vista and not via Chatham.

I then went to bed about 4am because I wasn't at all tired LOL

10.4.2006: Yayayayay

Hehe got off early today because Laura wanted to close so we switched.  Not much to say except I was in the cone shop all day!

I made soooooo many waffle bowls  yay I love doing that... and I must say my waffle bowls are the best

Yummy and we got a sandwich... I'm eating it now!

9.4.2006: What Time???

Today was a very long and tiring day at work!

To begin with, as soon as I got there, I went straight on busser/greeter (oh the joy).  Then, as I was looking for Megan to give her a break, one guest came up to me and asked if I could clean a table for her.  So of course I did, and her daughter started to help get all the rubbish off the table.  The mother (I presume) then told her daughter to stop because that was my job and what I was there to do.  Now actually at that point in time it wasn't my job at all!  But obviously she didn't know that.  It didn't bother me that she said it, it was the way in which she did...which was to make me feel like that I had no other purpose than to clean her stoopid table.

So that didn't put me in a very good mood (though of course I didn't show it).  The just before Wishes, they decided to give me dining room stocker as well...soooooooooo a bad thing to do.  It's mega busy before Wishes, and I was constantly having to restock the table area because there were so many guests! Thank goodness Natasha had stocked the drinks, chips and fruit for me, otherwise I think I would have had a break down.  It was when I was taking trays back to the dishwasher and Heather said 'that's our song' (we both always sing Wishes hehe) and I replied that I wasn't in the mood for Wishes, that she knew something was wrong LOL.  I simply told her that being put on both positions before Wishes wasn't the brightest thing to do because it was so busy I couldn't keep up (although she did say it looked really good out there!).  It didn't last for  long as Jennifer was put on temporary dining room stocker whilst doing register (as it gets really quiet during Wishes, and I went on break anyway!)  I did get my 8th GSF card though  for apparently doing a great job (well I was running around like a headless chicken trying to do a million things at once!).

Then it came to the lovely 3am Park closing time.  The cone shop closed early, but the bakery was open right up until 3am, and still with a line!

I got to  close line the Phylicia woo and Pavel  booooooooo.  He was so annoying! So in the end we told him to go help wash dishes (which he did) so we could concentrate on closing.  We didn't have much to harvest! as the morning bakers were already in preparing stuff, so we all got cleaned pretty quickly.

What was really depressing was watching some of the morning people come in just as we were about to leave .  The Phylicia, Jennifer, Laura and I went to the Mouseketeeria (which opens at 3am for breakfast!) and had foooooooood yum.  I had an omlet with sausage in it...it was lovely .

8.4.2006: Thunder Thunder Thunderation!

At work today I got put on waffle making!  Woo I loved that, but at 92 degrees it's not the most pleasent job in the world.  I was sooooooo hot.  But anyway I did a few other positions, and was moaning about having to close because I closed all last week and close all this week (not getting home till 4am most days this week... and not till 7am on Sunday and Friday!) and Eric (manager) said one guy was looking to close.. so I swapped with him and came home early   If you can call 1am early.  There was an accident on some road somewhere near here (haha I don't know the names) and so we were stuck in traffic for ages.

So I haven't actually gone to bed yet even though it's tomorrow   It's been thundering and lightining and raining (though luckily after I got in my apartment) but I'm just not tired.  I'll think I'll sleep in a lot today... seeing as I don't have to go to work until 7.15pm, which means catching the 6pm bus (better to be very early than 1 minute late!  I'm looking to keep my perfect record thank you very much!).  I'll probably go to the gym, but we all know my plans change constantly so if it happens then it happens.

Started listening to a podcast called Inside the Magic (thanks Kev )... it's ruddy brilliant, why didn't I know about  it before!  Anyway, it's awesome and I recommend everyone listen to it... (and that's also another forum I've joined LOL).

Ooooooooooh another thing..... they gave me May 30th off  yay.

Just need to find out about the 7th, and that week I want off.... stoopid scheduler.. might just do another vacation request form than ask him again.

7.4.2006: Rotate Ice Cream

Hehe, well today was unusual!  When I first got to work Lisa and I were given the job of bringing in ice cream from the main freezer outside, and rotating it to the back of the ice cream freezer inside.  It was fun and wasted half of our shift!  I was then put on register and went so fast it was amazing haha.. only to lead to another GSF card and MSN 100 pin for getting 113 transactions in an hour.  I'm not sure if you're supposed to get two, because I didn't know if Dana knew I had another one,  but Heather (who gave me my last one) was there and didn't say anything.  But this time I got the whole 'meeting in the prep area' where our manager told everyone  and a picture too...So I'll have to steal that off of Heather!

So afterwards, we all had a code 'under the sea' and went to IHOP...also great fun   I love it when we do this kind of stuff...I'm going to miss it .  Today, some of the girls are going to Millenia Mall (sp? lol) and to the cheesecake factory and stuff... and I have to work and I so wanted to go

Oh well sleepy time!

7.4.2006: I can't remember

Erm, I can't remember what I did today apart from work so that's really all I have to say.  Hehehehehe.

4.4.2006: Eeeeeek!

Argh... dun dun dun... I'm bad....... actually property control is even more EVIL than I had thought.  Nearly got to work late because of it!  I should have looked at my phone really, but note to self, leave at least 2 hours for going shopping before work hehe.

I finished paying, then got on the bus to the tunnel, looked at my watch and it said 4.34... and I was starting at 4.45!  And omg the bus was so slow!  So I practically got dressed in the bus, ran to my locker, shoved everything (purchases, costumes, clothes, shoes and bag!  crammed it all in), and sprinted it down the tunnel, becoming very out of breath (it's a long way!) and practically skidded to a halt at CDS bang on 4.45 and almost screamed at people to MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! because I had all of like 10 seconds to clock in hehe.  Made it though!  Even though I was half dressed and my apron wasn't on LOL.

So I won't be doing that one again!

I'm so not tired.  Last class tomorrow!  I'm going to ask how I can get a name tag with where I live on it.  Also, hopefully I may in an extra in the filming of the season finale of America's Funniest Home Videos.  They need 1200 audience members, and it's happening at MK so I hope to get in!  Although I don't know how I will get home, as the bakery closes at 12.45 and this thing doesnt finish until 2am, so I doubt the buses will be running.  Ah well I'll make up my mind tomorrow.

I'm not in the least bit tired...my new Mickey slippers are very comfy

Someone hurry up and entertain me.

3.4.2006: Not much to say.

The title pretty much says it all.  I went to work, and closed and that's about it.

Oh we did get sandwiches because so many were out of date.

2.4.2006: Great Smile!

Work was a bit of a stuggle today...everyone was so tired and we all walked around like zombies.  However, before work I went to EPCOT to take the dvd's back, and then went to MK to play for a bit! I bought a WDW Happiest Celebration on Earth CD (yay for discount!) which has Remember When on it! and a million other songs I like, including Soaring and the Welcome Medley for Main Street.  You know, the one that goes... *sings* we're walking right down the middle of Main Street USA.... you don't know how long I've wanted that song.  I also bought a Belle pin  woo!

So when I got to work I went straight to the cone shop and was scooper!  How unusual is that?!  I was there throughout the whole first half of my shift, although I did swap and do filler for a bit too.

Then finally got my break!  After what seemed like a year hmph.

Of course I got the joy of closing  so didn't get out until after 4am!  I did however get a GSF card from Tobin (manager) for having a great smile and interacting well with the guests! Tee hee...

It's not hard to get GSF cards, you just have to be the best CM you possibly can.  I moan about work a lot: rubbish hours, being tired, not liking some people, but in the end it's the guests that come first.

Piccie Time!

  eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil                          my room now

                      my room again

1.4.2006: April Fools (not again)

Ok stupid thing didn't work again, so here's a quick run down of my post that was supposed to work...

  • Kev is evil..watch out on April Fools day with him.. you're in deep trouble mark my words
  • 12 hour shift today
  • Plaza stole the carts, nothing to carry ice cream or drink on, big stress... Dana switched my position.
  • Met Gemma (again) and Tessa before work! Woo!
  • Very tired, eating food
  • Going to EPCOT tomorrow to return DVD's and then MK to play.
  • Anyone want to come?
  • Bedtime.

Toodles xxx

31.3.2006: Moan time.

Work today was fine, nothing new (I don't think, I can't really remember...) but today's post is not about work or anything, it's a subject that bugs me most when people talk about it.  Just to clarify VISTA IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE THANK YOU VERY MUCH!  I am sick and tired or people who talk to me, or posting things on forums about it being just about the worst place on earth to live and whatnot.  Yes I may want to live at Chatham Square or the Commons because I know more people there etc etc... and I'd like to be nearer to Mickey's Retreat, and of course the Premium Outlets (may go Sunday!) but Vista is still great.  I only live with 3 other people I get on really well with in a massive apartment and walking distance with most things (except the bus stop but so what?).  I probably wouldn't get that if I moved to another complex.

So the morale of this story is...if someone want's to slate Vista... don't do it in front of me, and don't go on about how great the others are because that depresses me to be honest.

Ok.

Moan over, food then bedtime.

30.3.2006: Extended Again!

Today at work was same old same old.  Sara asked me to extend again, and of course I said yes (but told her I was no way closing).  So nothing new there.  Mai and Nicki are coming to do extra hours in the bakery on Monday I think.  hehehe they'll get put on filler or busser/greater which means we won't have to do it!  Yay!  Although the other day I did say I didn't like extra hours people because they didn't know what they were doing, and Nicki replied that that was the whole point...erm....no!  I don't like all the extra work thanks.

hehe

And be patient Andy...

28.3.2006: Extended!

Hmmmm today I was just supposed to leave at doors, then I was extended till 11pm, just 15 minutes more, and then Sara (damn her niceness) asked me to close and of course I said I would...oh well more money!  Which is good seeing as I was given early releases earlier during the week.

But other than that not much to say....day off tomorrow!

27.3.2006: MSN 100 Club!

Yes you are speaking to Magic Kingdom royalty here!  Today I got a GSF card and a MSN 100 Club pin for being such a great person on register hahahhaa... no.. just for making over 100 transactions an hour woo!  I feel so honoured hahaha.  And that's another pin no one else will have!

So work was rather good on that note!

26.3.2006: ER!

Woohoo, today wasn't so bad.  I went into work as usual at about 8pm (soooo tired was I) having spent all day lounging.

I was supposed to be there until 4am but hehehehe.

Anyway this Russian guy was really annoying me (he's a CM) so I've taken to ignoring him and he tries to annoy me but it's so funny when I take no notice.  I mean come on, he wouldn't use a 'to-go' box because I had touched.  How stupid and childish.

Anyway, our manager gave me an early release! woohoo! so I went home at 2.15am instead of 4am.  I am however working until 4am next Sunday

25.3.2006: Dishes!

Hmmm well work was ok.  They stuck me on Bakery line for my entire shift so I'm not happy about that.  The girls on the register got special pins and GSF cards because they did over 100 transactionsan hour for 4 hours, and yes well done to them... we were extremely busy and there were queues all over the place, but it would have been nice if they could have swapped with say... erm me who had been in one place for 9 hours.

Anyway.  Once again the bus didnt turn up on time, and it was the last one. but luckily two guys from Casey's took us home; one went to Chatham and the other to Vista.  So yay to you guys!

I just hope the bus turned up and no one was there.  Would have served the driver right!

24.3.2006: .......

Went to work again.

23.3.2006:

I went to work.

I also went to eeeeeeeeeeevil property control.  Such a great place to shop unless you have no money (like me), you want to buy everything (like me), or you don't have enough space in your locker to put it all (like me.)

I did however buy a colouring book (yay) a CP keyring and a bunch of other stuff that I won't go into detail in.

21.3.2006: Bed? (noooooo)

mcHT_Howdy_MickeyBlinkie.gif

Nooooooooooooo

I just typed it all out and the internet went funny and I lost it all

Oh well here goes again.

Today was a good day, not great but good.  I got my bag this morning (woo another parcel!)  It's got a picture of the castle at DLC and has sequins and beads on it (no wonder they didn't sell it here) and I'll take a photo of it sometime and put it on.  I went to Wendy's for lunch because I didn't want anything here .

Work was ok.  I almost had a fit because I needed to go to costuming but forgot that I needed to sort my card out, and I had to get ready at work so I practically ran all the way down the tunnel and arrived five minutes early .

Hmph.

I was then assigned trash lady () for all of 10 minutes, and then I was scoop 1!! Yay for the cone shop I love it.

I'm so glad I wasn't closing.  One girl wanted me to swap but there was no way I was doing it as I close the rest of the week and I wanted to finish early for once.  I did however help line to harvest stuff so they could get out earlier, as I had a few minutes before I could leave.

So all in all it was a good day.

I can't sleep which is why I'm doing this now and not in three days time.

You can listen to me sing here http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1592013546714682135

The only reason it's on there is because a certain someone wanted to hear me sing .  There's no video just a blank wall, but it's the only way I could record onto my laptop (seeing as I'm using Window's Messenger and not MSN)

So if you like to hear the noise of some poor cat being strangled, by all means go ahead and listen.

Hmmm I might go to bed now!

20.3.2006: Erm...

A bit of a normal day today.  Oh except my parcel came!  Yay so now I have the Tinkerbell seat covers, floor mats and steering wheel cover for my car! Hehe.

So work was good as usual...nothing quite like yesterday but oh well.  Except Jennifer (George) kept flicking elastic bands at me while we were on register...grrrrrrrrrrrrr   EVIL girl.  Lisa and I were closing the line, and we got it done very fast!  Except Jack told us we were supposed to spoil the dirt and worms...he was positive...but we weren't and the baker had just made them  so I'm soooooooooooo not happy with Jack grrrrr.

But anyway we got out fast.  Just Barny (the big purple dinosaur...no sorry... our manager for the night) took aaaaaaaaages over at Casey's so we had to wait for him to walk the  bakery and cone shop.  We did good though!

19.3.2006: This is WAR!

Haha I had the best day ever at work today.  Ok so I was on busser/greeter to begin with, but afterwards I went to the cone shop!  And omg did we have a laugh!  It was once again all regulars and all us girlies (except for Jose who we now call Angelica).  We all gave each other names (e.g I'm 'England' and Jennifer is George etc etc.)  Then we started making up codes for things that happen, like code yellow is melting ice cream and what not.  And then we declared war on Casey's!!!  So Main Street is now no man's land, and if you're a filler for cone shop then you're on the front line!  I nearly slipped over sooo many times (so much for non slip shoes!) but everything was hilarious.

The funniest thing was something Jennifer said!  When it gets towards the end of the day and we're near closing, if we run out of ice cream, instead of going to the freezer, we take the tubs out from the bottom.  Now when Jennifer (George) went to get the strawberry out of the bottom, she found that there was chocolate chip instead.  So without realising it, she shouted out really loud "there's chocolate chip in my bottom!"  I almost wet myself laughing (which didn't help because I had orders) but everyone was in histerics.

So after work (some of us waited until the closers had finished so we could all go togther) we all went off to the IHOP for breakfast!  It was great and we had such a laugh and it was yummy!

Ooooh I love the bakery and cone shop CM's

Maybe when I go to operations I can get extra hours there.

18.3.2006: Casey's!

Hmmm work today was hard.  We had a lot of Extra Magic Hour people working (people who are doing extra shifts from other places.)  They were nice, but didn't have a clue about what they were doing!!!!  It made all the more work for us...but we had to have them because we were so short staffed!

It was all worth while in the end though.  It was all the regular  CM's closing and so Dana, one of our managers, when and got us all hotdogs and fries from Casey's, and we were allowed one thing off the line!  It was great!

17.3.2006: Wendy's

Well I didn't start work until 5.15 today so I had a plenty of time to do stuff, which I didn't do!  I had a lazy day.   So at lunch, Alex, Alaina and I went to Wendy's...mmmmm...it was quite nice actually, and cheap! .  The only bad thing was that when I came back I found out that UPS had been to try to deliver my parcel  but of course I was out!...grrrrrrrrrrrrr.  But they are coming back Monday which is good because I don't start work until 6.00pm so plenty of time to wait.

Work was OK, I had to close and the others helped me with machines (as the line people were very fast  and it was my first time doing machines since training!

We did however get the leftover strawberry shortcakes...hehe I ate mine before I'd even got out of the tunnel...I was so hungry.

Bed time now because I'm playing in the parks tomorrow.

16.3.2006: Dum dee Dum

Well after that great day yesterday, it was back off to good old work.  Nothing exciting to say really,   oh except I got another Great Service Fanatic Card from Laura (that's 3 in a month now ) for being a great scooper and stocker even though I had about a million ice cream orders on my screen (we didn't have a stocker so were all running out of ice cream so I was running around like a headless chicken trying to do  a million things at once.)

I think that was anything of interest.

Hmmmmmm

14.3.2006: BIIIIIIIIIIIIG YAWN

Ooooooooooooooooh yay.  12 hour shift!  Actually, it wasn't all that bad.  I had another meeting to begin with, with our area manager again and the vice president of MK.  We had food again so that was a plus .  I went back to work and got put on the dreaded busser/greeter.  Which turned out to be really worthwhile!  I got to wear a pin lanyard and although I didn't swap any, it made me feel important!   I did however, make two little boys very happy.  The first one, I had notice walk to the dining room with an ice cream.  The next thing I knew I saw a blob of ice cream on the floor.  I asked his Mother (as he was a little shy) if she would like me to get another one, and so off I trotted next door to get one.  She was so grateful it was amazing, and apparently her son had been very upset (although it didn't look it to me) and she said I had made his day  Go me.  The other little boy I never actually saw, but I guess it was his grandmother of something, came up to me to ask if I had some scissors, so I went backstage to hunt for some, and all it turned out she wanted me to do was cut his toy out of the box.  Something so simple but it made a kid so happy.  It was wonderful .

I then spent the remainder of the evening in the cone shop on register.  Then luckily the bus was waiting for us when we finished, and Jennifer and I had almost a whole bus to ourselves (unheard of here!).

So, so tired though.

13.3.2006: Oh dear.

Hmmmmmm well another 11 hours today.  They asked me to close and as Sarah is so nice I couldn't say no (and she gives me the cone shop when I ask for it if it's possible  ) so I said I would.  More money anyway.  First though I had to go to a CP Round Table Meeting where we CP's have a chat with our area manager about what was good and what not was good.  That included everything from our locations to buses and accommodation.  It was good fun! AND we got to eat sandwiches from the bakery and chips and soda.  Yum yum.

So I went back to work and worked until late!  Closing was easy because I got front of cone shop with Odelene and that's mainly cleaning and we got it done in good time.

Hmmm so tomorrow is another long day....

Oh dear.

12.3.2006: Ice Cream at 3 in the Morning???

It was a really looooong day today (so I'm dreading tomorrow!).  I got to work half an hour early so they asked if I wanted to start early and decided I did (money money money).  Possibly a bad mistake; they stuck me on busser/greeter and dining room stocker for 4 HOURS! How boring was that.  I don't mind doing it for a little time, but I think I've been in the bakery too much now because it bores me.

However!

After my very much needed one hour break, I was put in the Cone shop as scoop 3!   I love scooping ice cream, and there's always a great group in there.  Today was EMH until 3am! and we were staying open that long, so that is what I did until the end. (It got a little manic towards 3am as we didn't have enough scoopers and stuff so we were running around like headless chickens for a while!  Not too mention that the ice cream was either too hard or too soft!)

It was a good night though, except my legs kill, but at least the bus turned up on time!

I wasn't the least little bit sleepy when I got back, but I guess I should go to bed as I have to be at work from 2.30pm tomorrow untill 1.15am (I was stupid and said I would close...on the other hand...money money money!)  A nice lot of overtime I'll get there.

I only have to use one more weeks pay to have enough money to pay this installment of CMU fee's, so all the dosh after that is mine

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight xx

11.3.2006: I'm dying!

Hehe today was good, a tad eventful in the middle though.  There I was on scoop 2 (where you scoop all the non regular flavours for both sides...) and all of a sudden there was red on my fingers.. and I had an odd moment trying to work out which ice cream was red  and then realised I was bleeding!  It must have been when I took out the Chocolate Chip to get the the No Sugar Added Butter Pecan (it's very rarely used so it's put in the middle on the compartment under the bar, so you have to remove another ice cream to get to it).  The containers are cardboard with metal rings around the top, so I must have caught 2 of my fingers on there.  They were quite deep cuts as well!  And I was wearing two pairs of gloves!  Luckily nothing got into the ice cream (though I did get blood on the door lol) but I just went to put plasters on (well actually Alyssa did because it's very hard to put plasters on when you can't use one hand) and then I went back to scooping, but with 3 pairs of gloves this time!

Well there's my little bit of not so pleasent excitment!

10.3.2006: Erm...

I worked!  And that's about it.  So I don't really have much more to say...so I'll put some pictures on instead.

9.3.2006: Well...

Hmmm I've decided I say 'well' at the beginning of my posts too much.  Hehe.  Work today was the same as usual, though I stood for too long at the register so now my back and legs hurt way too much.  So hmm what else did I do?  Not a lot!  I worked, which is what you usually do at work!  Now I'm watching Dumbo, which I haven't seen in donkey's years.  It's great hehe!

Toodles!

7.3.2006: Double yay!

It was very slow today...and I got put in lots of positions for little amounts of time...so it wasn't boring.  Once again they had too many closers...so I was given an ER (early release).  I only did 5 hours   I'm glad though because I was knackered.

Not much else to say..the rest is in home!

6.3.2006: Yay!

Yay today I could talk!  Just about.  I worked today, funnily enough, so not much else to say, except they had too many closers and I was the spare...so I didn't have to do one particular job, so I helped with machines.  And then it was Dana's (manager) first time closing, so it took ages to go through everything and she picked out every tiny little detail.  I suppose she wanted to go a good job her first time LOL.

So afterwards, the usual late crew all hopped into Jonny's car and we went off to Taco Bell for dinner...yes at 2am in the morning.  It was very yummy, and there was 6 of us crammed into this car...it was hilarious.

So now I'm off to bed...I have work at 4pm tomorrow and I'm closing again... snore.

xx

5.3.2006: (silent) ARGH

I couldn't talk this morning!   It was so frustrating, but by the time I got to work I had to force myself to speak.  Really hurt my throat but what could I do?  It was rather an easy shift, I wasn't closing so none of that rubbish to go through, but it was EMH so the park was open until 12am... and I got off at 12.15  hehe.

Not much else to say except it was a kind of boring day, and really hard because I couldn't talk.  Hopefully I can tomorrow!

4.3.2005: Hmmmm

Well again I didn't do much today except work.  I was closing though  and again got the line to close, which was lucky I suppose because all we do is spoil everything and don't harvest.

We got out an hour later than we were supposed to, but that always happens; doesn't help that maintainance were trying to fix the ice cream cooler where I was trying to clean!

So we thought we'd at least catch the last bus of the night, but it never showed up.  Then the guy in the mini bus that came to pick us up was nice enough, but kind of had a go at us for missing the last bus (which didn't turn up anyway!) and that the park closed more than 2 hours ago.  I'd like to see him clean the bakery!

So in the end we didn't get back until about 4am...and I was so hungry I had to eat so didn't get to bed until 5am!

Oh dear

3.2.2006: ....

Hmm well not much happened at work today.  So there is not much to say.  I did the usual stuff I do, although I only got a 15 minute break because I wasn't there for more than 8 hours.  I started to lose my voice though! So I'm pretty sure tomorrow I won't be able to talk!

Got a lift home from Jonny with Laura yesterday.. yay.... he dropped me off right outside my building!

Oh well a little short but nothing left to say.

2.3.2006: :-D

Today was my first day of work since I'd gone home ill, and it wasn't too bad.  I still had a cough but all was well.  At 2.30pm, the other CP's and I had to go to a MKRO meeting, where they told us about our leaders, and basically everything we already knew.  And then they showed that video .  AND made us go up on stage to perform it.... good fun though.  I went back to work after that, and was put on busser/greeter and dining room stocker because we were short staffed.  Eric then asked me to keep an eye on the other register in case it got very busy (because the boy on the other register kept letting a queue build up).  So I was basically running around like a headless chicken.  I think Eric noticed though (he's one of the managers) and gave me a Great Service Fanatic Card  It means they recognised me as doing something beyond what my job entails... and I have to hand the top copy in to be put in a lottery and hopefully win prizes!

Finished at 8pm and came home, to be very happy that my Valentines Day pressie from Steven had FINALLY arrived.  It's so lovely and sweet.  I got 7 balloons (which are currently decorating the corner of our living room), a very long stemmed rose... and a white teddy (oh yeah it's gonna get soooooooooo dirty).

28.2.2006: ILL!!!

Today has not been a good day.  I've been on the verge of tears because everything hurts and I can't do anything because I have no energy!  I got to sleep at 12 am..... and then woke up at 8am... then fell asleep on the sofa at 9am... and then didn't wake up till 1pm!  I though I would be fine going into work, but the bus ride didn't help..and when I go there I felt like falling asleep anywhere!  I was half and hour early so went to sit with everyone who was on break... and was a tad teary then as well.  One of the women must have told one of the managers, because Julissa took me to the office and asked me what was wrong and I just burst into tears LOL.  She then asked if I wanted to go home.  Normally I would have said no, but I couldn't think straight, so just nodded.  I then came home! and then slept for another 5 hours...in all getting 17 hours sleep today!  I need more as well, so I'm going back to bed.

Night xx

27.2.2006: Oh dear.

Well I only got 6 hours sleep before I had to be up and out for work. It didn't help that I work up with a horrible cough and a blocked nose.  I also ached ALL over.  I managed to get through work though; good job I didn't have to close!  Laura and I watched Wishes after work, which cheered me up a little bit!  Went home and straight to bed!

26.2.2006: Late!

Weyhey, I got to take part in a CP video about Safety in Motion!  We had to do a dance to the TimeWarp, modified of course, but it was all very funny.  I'm gonna be famous! LOL.  Tonight wasn't too bad, having spent the day playing, I started work at 9.15pm.  Everything was fine until about 11pm when I started to feel not well at all  although I thought it was one of those down days I get after being bubbly for a few weeks.  But work wasn't too bad, though I wish I hadn't had to close, and I only got a 15 minute break.  I was so glad to go home though, but the 3.40am bus never showed up, and the bus company didn't know where it was!  Luckily the 4.04am bus did show up but I didn't get to bed until gone 5am!

25.2.2006: Tiiiiiiiiiiired!

Well it's 3am here (so technically not the 25th) and I've just got in from work, having supposed to have finished at 1.15am.

But let me start at the beginning.

Didn't do much this morning, except chat and do some laundry, so now I have a nice clean bed to sleep in.

Then I went to work!

I got put on register for the first 3 hours.  It does get boring after a while.  Then I went on break, and then afterwards went to the cone shop as a filler, for about 30 mins, and then got moved to the bakery as a filler there.

Tonight was my first night closing since training, meaning I had to help close down the bakery.  Laura and I were given the job of clearing the line (two people always do this as it's such a big job.  As it was Saturday, it also meant that we spoil all the food instead of harvesting it.  So while laura threw everything away, I cleaned all the surfaces and the compartments out etc etc.  It always takes longer then expected, but tonight was unusually long LOL.  At least when the cone shop finishes they have to help yes because they can't go until both shops are done.

I'm not working until 9.15pm tomorrow. Yay.  So I'm going to go to MK to play.  When I finally get up.

I'm off!

Toodles

24.2.2006: Scoop!

Well after everything I did this morning, I then went into work!  My first position was ice cream scooper, almost a messy as dealing with hot fudge!  It's hard work too and kinda hurts ur wrists.  It also didn't help that some of the ice cream was so soft, that is was extremely hard to make a single (2 scoops) let alone a double! (3 scoops).  A lot had to be put in cups and a lot of guests didn't like that  So I put them on cones and it serves them right if they get it all over themselves

After that I was allowed break, and then came back to do cone shop stocker, for all of 10 minutes.  I was then relieved and sent to conoe shop register for almost 20 mins! Woo!  I then moved into the bakery on the register there and remained there until we closed!  I left at doors tonight so no closing for me! Yay.  I'm closing tomorrow though  I hope they give me something easy to do.

23.2.2006: 11 Hours :-O

Weeeeeeeeeeell today was my very long day at work.  I went to the gym in the morning, and then got ready for work!  It wasn't too bad actually, as I was in the cone shop all day.  I started as the filler, who basically gives the made ice creams to the guests.  We also get to put the toppings on the ice cream  sundaes, and I think I ended up with more hot fudge on me than on the sundaes judging by the state of my apron.  I was there for quite some time, and then allowed my first break   Of course they it was straight back to work, where I was put back on filler, then had my little 15 minute break, and then put on the register!  So all easy work really.  And the time flew by.

I'm mega tired now though and have work tomorrow to 12 as well, but I only start at 5 so its not so bad

Night xx

21.2.2006: Aaaaaaaah

Busy busy busy this evening!

Well I started at 4.15pm and was put straight on the register  (yay not line stocker!)  It's kinda easy, plus I got to sit down, although I did ache after a while.  The woman on the other register asked how long I had been there, and I said I had been here for two weeks and training for one, and she replied that they must have big things for me if I'm doing register already.  Then she said I was smart!  The second person to say that  ner ner.

Hmmmm did that for quite a few hours, and then had break.  45 minutes goes veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery fast.

I then got put on line filler and was extended to 12am (I was originally working till 11.30pm) and left when the doors closed and all the guests were gone.  Then got a lift back to Vista with Johnny  who I work with, along with Laura and a couple of other girls I don't know.  Good thing too I wasn't looking forward to waiting for the bus!

I don't work now until Thursday, but I only have Wednesday off next week  but I think most are late shifts so I can go play in the morning.  One day I'm working from 5.00pm till 3.15am!  Must be EMH hehe.

19.2.2006: Passed!

Well another short one tonight as I sat around most of the day.  I spent the morning in the cone shop on the register, but as it was so chilly there were not that many guests coming in.  It's all very simple though.  So I had my assessment in the afternoon, passed  and then got an ER!  Then I came home and lounged... and dinner was made for me hehehe! yum.  So I've spent all evening catching up on MSN (it gets very confusing when I see MSN all over the MK tunnels because it's short for Main Street North).  Well I'm off to AK tomorrow for when it opens, so I guess I need to go to bed sometime soon.  It opens at 8am for us CM's!  7am for all those lucky resort guests.  I need to go ride Expedition Everest!  Anyone wanna come?

18.2.2006: Money!

Hmm today was my first day of training on the registers, with Jackie.  Easy peasy really, not horrible registers like I'm used to, nice touch screen modern ones LOL.  I spent most of the day  on the register getting used to it.

Boring really.  I'd much rather be elsewhere.  We had a laugh though.  And had loads of breaks.  Hmmmm not much else to say.

I went to Downtown Disney this evening.  I met up with Gemma who is here on holiday but coming to work in March!  We ate hehehe and went shopping woo!

I'm off to bed, have register assessment tomorrow, and then am off to either MK or EPCOT to watch the fireworks.

Nighty xx

17.2.2006: Assessment Day!

Well today was the first time I did a morning shift and it was also the day of my assessment  my first assessment anyway.  Although I started at 9.15, my assessment wasn't until 3.00pm! So I spent most of the day on break!, and going over how to clean machines and stuff.

Then it came to my assessment.  I had one of the managers 'Pat' doing it.  He's very nice, and I was able to answer most things; there was a couple of facts I didn't know but that was Ok lol.

Well I passesd that section.  Not much else to say.  Came home and lounged!

15.2.2006: Ice Cream and Hot Fudge!

Well, well, well today was certainly different.  I was placed in the Cone Shop to have my training there.  It's a lot simpler than the Bakery because there's far less to do, especially when closing up.  I was first put on a line something or other, i can't remember what the position is called.  Basically I had to make the ice creams! And sundaes and floats.  They're really yummy, hehe, I had my taste testing yesterday.  I had to get used to scooping, but once you have done it many times it's quite easy.

The ice creams they have are:

  • Strawberry
  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla
  • Cookies and Cream
  • Butter Pecan
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Mint and Chocolate Chip
  • Cookie Swirl (like cookie dough)
  • No Sugar Added (NSA) Butter Pecan
  • Fat Free (FF) Chocolate and Vanilla

Not to mention the waffles, cones and Mickey ears, for the kid's ice creams.

Then I went to make waffles!  Very simple, it's just a case of timing, and they are very simple to mould too.  You get a lot of people watching you do it, so it's like being in a goldfish bowl!

I then went to the 'line stocker' position.  This is very much like in the Bakery, but you fill up on ice cream instead!  Plus the cookies (for cookie sandwiches) and sprinkles, cherries and hot fudge.    All very simple, and easier than the Bakery.

After that I went on as line filler.  This is where you give the orders to the guests.  You also out the whipped cream, hot fudge,, cherrie's and sprinkles on the sundaes and ice creams.  Easy Peasy.

Closing the Cone shop is just a lot of cleaning, so nothing to write home about really LOL

Tomorrow I'm off to MK to see the parades and Wishes!  As well as Cinderellabration.  Plus, I'm taking my video camera to record it all! Weyhey.  Let's hope I can get it to work!

14.2.2006: So so cold!

Sleeeeeeeeeeep, give me sleep!  I can quite honestly say that I am cream crackered.  It's been one hell of a busy day.  First of all, I went to work and HOUR early so that I could take my apron to costuming to be cleaned, and collect clean ones.  I also went to pick up a coat (special ones for those who work at Main Street North) because it is a little cold when waiting for the bus at night.  Only trouble is that they didn't have any mediums, and the large was way to big for me!  So I'll suffer and stick with my cheerleading jacket for now.

So I arrived for my second day of training.  My trainer today was Carla, who was awesome and so friendly and really told me everything I needed to know and more!  She reviewed a lot of the stuff I did yesterday, and then we got to work!  Today I was being all the other positions I didn't do yesterday: dining room stocker, busser/greeter and line stocker.  The first two are pretty simply so we didn't spend too much on that.  Obviously, the dining room stocker stocks up the drinks in the 'grab and go' cooler and the crisps and fruit.  The busser/greeter wipes tables, spot mops the floor, refills the condements and greets guests!  When it's not busy at all, then the greeting becomes more apparent as we have to stand at the door and greet guests passing by.  That didn't happen today though because it was quite busy!

My last position was line stocker, which really is just stocking up on cakes and such the the line fillers run out of.  Plus I learnt how to make smoothies and cut cakes properly and where everything is kept.  It's a lot to remember but there is plenty of people to help!

Tomorrow I'm in the cone shop and I get to try all the different flavour ice cream   Not a bad job!  But once I start working for real, there's no eating otherwise it's bye bye Louisa and hello cold and rainy UK!

I'm knackered so I may get ready for bed and read my book.

Happy Valentines Day!

Toodles, Louisa xx

13.2.2006: Weyhey!

Well, today was my official day of work!  So I got all dressed up, shoved my name tag on and hopped on the bus to the MK CM parking lot.  I then jumped onto one of those 'VIP Cast Member' buses which took me to the mouth of the tunnel.  Now you're not allowed to see pictures of the tunnel because it's a Disney secret! Ner ner!  I then wandered off down to the Locker Room, where I spent for ages trying to work out where my locker was, and then ages trying to open it!  It's one of those dial locks you see on US high school shows.  So I asked someone to help me, and her friends tried as well, and in the end we got it open!  So now I know how to do that!

I then went to wait for my trainer at the MKRO (Magic Kingdom Restaurant Operations) office.  Only one of them turned up! I was supposed to have two, but oh well.  The day went pretty fast actually.  Maribel (my trainer) gave me a tour of the Cone Shop and Bakery, as well as where the managers lived LOL, and where my scheduler was and stuff like that.  So then we went back to the Bakery and Maribel went though what we sold and where everything was and such, and then we went on a little tour of all the Main Street shops, so I would know where to send people.  We saw all the emergency exits for different kinds of emergencies, and where the rubbish and boxes went, and where the Backstage Bistro is  FOOOOOOOOD.  Then we had a little review about everything I'd done, and then we went for a break! Weyhey 45 mins!  I was allowed a Rocky Road Brownie, yum yum, plus I had grapes and a Coke!  After that  I went straight in at the deep end!  Being a line filler, so basically serving the guests.  Not as hard as you would think actually, it's just a case of knowing where everything is.

At the end of the night (which came a lot quicker than I thought it would) I had to help close down and clean all the machines.  Not too hard, it's just a case of having to remember which cleaner you use with which machine.

Well at the end the manager on duty (Barney this time) has to check the machines and make sure they are clean, which of course they were!

So after that I clocked out and made my way all the way back, under the castle and whatnot, and back to my locker.  The caught the bus home! Despite leaving at 11.45, I didn't get back till 1 am, which is why I didn't update here because I went straight to bed!

11.2.2006: Costumes!

Yay I loved today!  Even having to get up at 5.30am!  Well I did go to bed at 8.30 last night so it wasn't so bad!  First we got the first bus to the Disney University (over by MK).  Once we were all gathered together, our 'Once Upon A Time Is Now' tour began.  Scott and Andrew were our guides, and they basically gave us a tour of the Magic Kingdom, well some of it.  We were allowed in at 7.30am!  They took us all around the park, and once it was open we were allowed to ride Buzz Lightyear and the Haunted Mansion!  Not bad for a class!  It was also an ideal opportunity to get a picture of the castle without having heads in the way!

At the end we were given special Fantasy pins (neeeeeeeeer Rowan one you haven't got and will never get!) only for MK CM's.  Aren't I a lucky girl? Hehe.  After our tour we had another class on the computers, and then (drum roll please) WE WENT TO GET OUR COSTUMES!  The most exciting bit of the day!  I was a tad nervous about what I had to wear, but while we were backstage I got a look at my costume and it's awesome   So girly I love it!  Guess I'll have to show you all a picture, otherwise I would be moaned at!  Can't work out how to put the hat on though, but I didn't actually see anyone wearing it.  My name tag also now has a little red label saying 'Earning My Ears' to show that I'm in training! Woo!  Oh and for your information Mum, my name tag has my name on it  and then a picture of a gold castle, and then the names of the places of the other parks around the World.  So it doesn't say where I come from or where I go to University.

Well, the stuff I've done since I've been back is not work putting in 'Home'; all I did was went to Walmart and got a new phone!  Weyhey.  A bit of a brick but oh well it will do.  I'm going to finish eating.  I'm off to EPCOT tomorrow. Yay!

9.2.2006: Food and Beverage Basics

Well today hasn't been as good as the other days, but still fun!  We had to be at our first class at 10.30am, where we were taught about the food and beverage section of WDW.  It was sort of interesting I guess, at least the first part was.  We found out a lot of stuff, like as I'm classed as a full time CM I'm allowed 5 costumes, and that I'll get those on Saturday .  The second part of the class was on computers (same as my so I must have taste!) where we learnt about safety and food safety, which of course would help us in our roles.  This took some time, there were 4 assignments to complete, and they were quite interesting.  It got so tiring after a few hours though, at least we were getting paid!  When we finished we were allowed to leave, and I forgot to go to the Company D shop, to get a new lanyard which has CAST MEMBER written on which ever pin you choose.  Oh well I'll go on Saturday.

Bit of an event on the way back, our bus broke down.  Luckily an American Coach mini bus was on the other side of the freeway, and so the guy took all 16 of us on the bus back to Vista Way and the other complexes.

The rest of my day can be found in home life

8.2.2006: MK Blast Off!

Well today has been another long day and I'm shattered  We had to get the bus at 11.30am this morning to the Disney University over by the Magic Kingdom.  Here we went into a session where we had to sign lots of forms .  Plus we got our park ID's and name tags!  I love my name tag, it's just about the best thing so far!  We then had break and went into another room where we had Traditions!  It was very long, about 3 hours, but so worth it I think.  We saw lots of presentations about Disney and how it works, and Michelle and Bob, our 'teachers' for that day were great.  They were funny and did little role plays for us.  Watching the presentations was quite overwhelming really.  I got the same feeling I get when I'm at home in the UK and see a WDW advert on TV, and feel like I want to cry!  I so don't get that.  Anyway, at one point we had to write down as many characters as we could, and as I was team leader for our table, I got given a 'critter': Daisy Duck . Woo!

Shame about the girls from my Uni.  I don't really like them for sure now.  They seem to look down their noses at me and think it's funny that I love Disney.  Hmph.  Like in Traditions, when we were asked if anyone collected pins, they all laughed at me when I said yes.  Hardly the Disney spirit.  I don't know why they came, I guess they're the ones that are here for the Florida fun rather than wanting to work for Disney.  I think I'll just keep out of their way.  They're always moaning and complaining and whining, and if I hear too much I'm afraid I might say something I shouldn't and get terminated  and I certainly don't want that!

So tonight all the new Magic Kingdom Cast Member's went to a special opening in Tomorrowland, in what they call Magic Kingdom Blast Off.  Basically all the CM's got together and went on rides (Space Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin), ate free food, got information about all the different thing's you can do, and a whole lot of other stuff.  Mickey and Minnie were there too, as was Stitch!   We got to go in the tunnel's under the Magic Kingdom, and so now I basically know where to go when I start work!  I think.

Anyway I have to be up and ready to get the bus at 9.30 tomorrow, so I guess I should go to bed!  Day off Friday...yay!

7.2.2006: Day Two!

Well, a lot has happened today!  First thing we went to the Social Security doo dah place, and stood around for ages waiting for my number to be called (hmmmm sounds strangly like being back at the US Embassy don't ya think?) and then when I was finally called, just handed in my papers etc etc and tada it was all done!

After that we came back and went straight to Recruiting Check-In.  This was quite cool actually, we had to hand in medical forms and found out where we were working!  I'm working in the Main Street Bakery  I'm so pleased this is exactly where I wanted work for QS F&B!  I'm quite sure my costume is nice but I can't seem to find a picture of one...I'll be sure to have one taken and put on here when I get my own!

We also got told that there is a special "Magic Kingdom Blast Off".  It's where we meet College Program and CareerStart Students, CP Alumni, Professional Interns and Magic Kingdom Leaders in Tomorrowland   We get to 'Discover the excitement of Astro Orbitor, explore the far reaches of to Tomorrowland Arcade, try to catch an alien at Stitch's Great Escape!, and experience the wonder of riding Space Mountain with the lights off, and ON!"

I'm not sure how to get there, as it says park in the Cast Member Parking Lot and obviously I don't have a car, so a trip to Vista Way Front Desk may be in order tomorrow.  Plus it's only open for Magic Kingdom Cast Members so yaaaaaaaaaaay.

We were finished then I think.  Oh wait. Haha.  At 2pm we went to meet with Dean Wallin from CMU and the other staff that came along.  Handed over my details to pay oh yay! what a joy.  Found out that we have to pay more, and some people really complained, and I was like...hello! you're working for the mouse...you shouldn't care that you have to pay a bit more.  Apparently they are not able to save their pennies.  Obviously not 'Disney Lovers!'

6.2.2006: First Day!

Well I haven't exactly started work yet, but this is our first week of orientation, training etc etc, so I guess it fits in.

Today we had orientation at 12 noon, so that gave us a nice opportunity to lie in, except I went to bed so early last night (9.30 is extremely early for me LOL) that I woke up at 7.30am.  It was nice though, I got to speak to everyone back home!

So come 12 noon, we all trundled off to the Vista Way Pavilion, just up from us, all dressed in our suits and stuff (thanks Will, grrr we didn't need it on  though it was commented on how smart we looked ), and first had to hand in all our forms and stuff.  Then we went to see how CM's should look when working for Disney, which we all knew already but hey.  Good news is that my glasses are fine, so I don't have to wear my other ones if I don't want to.  Next step was housing, but as I am already situated in an apartment they didn't really do anything.  Then I had to hand over my money  and then hand in a couple of forms and whatnot...before going to get my ID   It's quite good actually...although they spelt my surname wrong to begin with..they out Biggs, instead of Gibbs. Hehe.  Oh and they were nice and subtle about putting UNDER 21 on it... it's in nice fat red capital letters next to my name .

So then at 2pm we went to the Commons (nice but of course Vista rules!) for our Housing and Program Welcome meeting where we filled in forms and watched presentations and signed up for our social security number!  Also signed up for a savings account with Vista something or other...the credit union that deals with Disney CM's, and have decided I'm going to open a checking account to... so I can have a debit card!  Saves carrying around cash LOL.

So after all that we came back...and went to Walmart!  We were there for about 3 hours!  Got my pillows though, and a bedside lamp, coat hangers, we got a toaster.  No Tv as yet but we wouldnt have been able to bring it back!  Got a taxi back, wasnt bad at all just $9 and there was 4 of us so really cheap!  He even helped us unload our bags!  The whole boot was filled LOL, mainly but pillows and duvets.

Anyway I have to be up at 7am tomorrow, so I better go to bed, as it is nearly midnight!

Toodles
