Seeing as last night was a late night (I was up until 3.30am playing my Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince game), of course I woke up really early. I didnt mean to, but I kept coughing when I was laying down so in the end I got up and went to watch TV. I also skyped home to Mum and did my ironing! By that time Jo was up so we stuck Peter Pan on, and this time I actually watched it! Once it was over we headed out to Publix to buy the rest of the ingredients we needed for Christmas Dinner. The only white cheese Publix did was sharp cheddar, and I didn't want to risk that in my soup, so I just bought the bright orange stuff and hoped for the best. I also got the makings of a chocolate sponge too!
So once we were back (carefully avoiding the sales in the outlets) we put everything away, and then headed up to Chatham to get the A bus. Obviously as MK is open late tonight people were only just going into work so it was quite busy and we had to stand all the way! And I wanted to play my DS . Eventually we made it to the TTC and took the monorail over to MK. It was fairly busy to be honest, but we didn't want to do much so we took some pictures, looked in the shops and then got a place for the parade. I saved it while Jo went to get hot chocolate as it was a little chilly! It was nice to see the parade in daylight, and I filmed it as it is a new parade for me!
We then braved the crowds and came home, to get started on our dinner! I mixed all my sausage meat up so that was done, and by this time Fiona had arrived. Then it was time to start the soup! It's not a hard process, but it does take some time and a lot of ingredients! It was a recipe for 10 people so there is loads left over now! I'm going to freeze it and then reheat it and get some sour dough bowls so I can have soup in a bowl! YUM!
Lexie then arrived and the table was set so we sat down to dinner. It was a nice little gathering and we had wine and christmas crackers and everyone wore their hats. Michelle arrived halfway through our main course (she wasn't eating) and kept us all company hehe. We missed dessert as we were all stuffed, so set about clearing up and then plonked ourselves down in front of the TV to watch Sweeney Todd. Not the most appropriate Christmas film, but it was good! Fiona dozed off and I had washing to put away and by the time it was finished we were all pretty tired. Especially me who had four hours sleep the night before.
So now they've all left, and Jo and I are getting ready for bed. I might have a little read before I sleep. Work again tomorrow! Night night xx
21.12.2009: Kaboom!
Today has been a very productive day! This morning I went to the post office to send of some Christmas presents. I know they won't get there in time, but at least they will get there! It only took my about five minutues so instead of waiting half an hour for the bus I decided to walk back to Vista and treat myself with Chick-Fil-A. And it was so good! It's been a little chilly today but by no means as cold as yesterday! Brrrr. Once back at the Commons I spent nearly four hours moving all my stuff from my old room into Jo's room. Luisa left the other day so I wanted to move before we get given a new roommate. Dana wants her friend Dani to move into her room so that's all good! My new room certainly looks full now, but we have a bigger closet space, extra storage and a bigger bathroom so it doesn't look messy for once!
I spent the afternoon doing that, watching TV and being online talking to people, and then thought it would be a good idea to go to Epcot to watch the fireworks. I wanted to film the Holiday ending because I don't think we have it, and also I needed to go to the Beach Club to show my ID for Andy's reservations. They found one, but not the other so I'm going to have to go back when I have more information! With that all done Jo and I headed back to Epcot and went to China to eat. Mmmmm orange chicken. We then had desert in Germany (Black Forest Roulade!) and waited for Cairi to arrive. We then went to the American Adventure (where Candlelight was on so I had a good nose) and got food for Cairi. If they had been any slower she would have lost all hunger! Seriously, 15 minutes to fill an order is not acceptable! We then went to get space for Illuminations over in Italy. I stood on the ledge to film and we got a pretty good view! I love fireworks.
So now we're back and I've just finished moving all the stuff on my bed. It's going to be strange sleeping in the room that I first moved into when I got here. In another apartment of course, but it's the same layout. It's slighly colder in here which is nice as the other room is always really hot.
Bedtime methinks. I'm assigning again tomorrow and hopefully it'll be warmish and sunny. Fingers crossed! Night night xx
14.12.2009: Twinkle twinkle little star...
That's what the lights are doing on our tree. Twinkling. They're not supposed to but some are obviously damaged so they twinkle. It doesn't look bad at all!
I tried to have a lie in today, but this cold made me wake up with a blocked nose. So seeing as I was up anyway, I decided to get dressed. I took a trip to Walgreens to buy a photo frame and some cold medicine (I've run out of Beechams!). It's called DayQuil and it seems to be working. It's non-drowsy too which will help for work. When I got back I got a vacuum cleaner from front desk (I had to buy a new bag despite the fact that the one we have last time is almost empty! They told me to just throw it away; what a waste!) and hoovered up all the tinsel that's on the floor. It looks a lot tidier now! I've also done some washing, and then while I was watching TV I signed up for the 5pm Candlelight show today. Someone obviously couldn't do it so they dropped the show before 2pm and I was online at the right time! So I then had to get ready for that and then headed off to Epcot! The narrator for tonight was Abigail Breslin and she was awesome! Such a talented girl. I only did the first show as I don't think I would have coped with doing both the late shows, so I went over to the UK to hand in my toy for the Toys for Tots drive, and got some chips while I was at it. Hot, salty chips to wonders for my throat.
So I've been back a while now, and have done my ironing, put some more washing on, watched 'The Ultimate Christmas Present' and had a bit of my chocolate tree that Mum sent me. YUM! Only a little bit because I want it to last and I'm not that hungry. My room still needs a tidy because everything is over my bed, but I shall do that after I've blogged. It's back to work tomorrow and the newbies will be starting so that should be fun! It didn't look too busy as I passed by at 6pm tonight, but maybe I just wasn't looking close enough!
Right, I'm off. Night night xx
13.12.2009: Mickey's Not So Very Merry Scary Christmas Party.
It's those great big hoovers they have at the end of the parade. Totally freak me out because I'm afraid I might get sucked up inside one.
Today has been an awesome Disney Dork day. At lunchtime Jo and I headed off to DHS to take in some character greeting (Mickey) and character drawing (Goofy). My Goofy looks like he's slightly high, but meh, at least it still looks like him! We ate at the Backlot Express (haven't eaten there in years, I had forgotten it was there!) and looked in the shops. We rode ToT and got blinded due to the setting sun, but the picture is awesome. I got my present for Secret Santa at work (a stroke of genuis by Jo) and we watched some awesome Streetmosphere on Sunset Boulevard. It was so funny and we saw some characters I've never seen before.
The highlight of the day though was MVMCP! We met Fiona at MK as she came after work and I'm so glad it was a nice night. We started off at the bakery eating food, and then went to get our free cookies and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was too sweet, but the cookies were good. We watched Belle tell her story of the Enchanted Christmas (like the normal daytime show but Christmassy!) and then went to see Mickey and Minnie in their holiday finest. Minnie was awesome, and so much fun, and Mickey looked like he should be in guest relations. The park was quiute busy, although it was a sold out event so it's not surprising!
We then went to get a spot for the fireworks, and we stayed in the same spot to watch the parade. The parade was different this year, which I didn't know so I didn't bring my video camera, but I'm not worried because it's not as good as the old one! We then raced up to the castle to see Celebrate the Season (the castle show) and had lots of pictures taken by the lovely Photopass people. It was then off to Tomorrowland to catch the last showing of the new Christmas show they do there. It was ok I suppose, apart from the girl who kept saying 'Finaaaale' Gah.
Then it was time to leave. We went to the Exposition Hall to get our photos (you can actually get Cast Holiday discount off individual photos, which I wish I had know about before, because it only cost me $4!) and then on to the monorail to go to the TTC. We waited for the bus and then headed off to West Clock. I don't know what was happening there, but security didn't let anyone on the bus, and so we drove off without picking up any of the masses of people there! They must have been naughty!
So we're all home now. I'm glad I don't have to work tomorrow as I'm knackered and want a lie in. My cold has really set in now and I'm almost out of Beechams, so I may have to go buy more. Oh well.
Night night! xx
27.11.2009: Celebrate the Season!
Well I am glad I'm off today. I've done a lot, but at least it wasn't work! I needed a break after yesterday! So today is also known was Black Friday. I'm not sure what exactly it stands for, but one thing I do know is that the shops have a massive sale. So that's where I found myself this morning, at the Premium Outlets. I got quite a bit, and although I'd love to tell you what I got, some of it is Christmas presents so that would spoil it! I did however get myself some black trousers for Candlelight, and a braclet with red flowers on it from Charlotte Russe. I would have loved to have bought much more, but I'm not one for spending lots of money, and we are off to Disneyland next week so I need money for that!
So after that shopping I was going to go to Walmart, but decided there wasn't really time if I wanted a decent amount of time to get ready for Candlelight, so I'll go tomorrow instead. I have spent the day doing almost nothing though. I had cold pizza for lunch, and then before I knew it I had to get the bus to Epcot! I picked up my package on the way which was kind of a mistake because at Cast Services they need to check all packages. They let me in with it though because it was only going in my locker. So then I took the cast bus to where the rehearsal tent was and went to sign in. Then it was time to get our robes! They are new this year and once again green. The collars are very sparkly with lots of gems on them! One woman even found a Hidden Mickey on hers!
We then lined up, and I was the tallest Soprano. Up in the tree I was surrounded by Bases, so sometimes it was hard to sing my part (especially as I'm a 2nd Soprano and I could only hear firsts) but you get used to after a while. In 2006 I was surrounded by Tenors so it's not so different! The narrator was Isabella Rossalini, and although I really don't have any idea who she is, she was very good! All in all they were two very awesome shows! When we finished I took off my robe and was absolutely freezing. Stupid me forgot to bring a coat! So I went over to the UK and got some chips and tea to warm me up and sat eating them as the fireworks were going off. Tonight they started the extra holiday fireworks at the end. They were lovely!
So now I'm back and really cold and I've just filled up my hot water bottle and I'm about to go to bed. There's not much I need to do tomorrow, except go to the post office and Walmart. I guess I should start our advent calendar as well.
Anyway my nice warm bed is waiting for me. Night night xx
23.11.2009: Laziness and Germany and Candles
Well today has been my unexpected day off. I have lazed around for the most part of it. I tidied up a bit, watched a lot of TV and pretty much didn't leave the apartment. I had a good excuse though, seeing as I was at overnight rehearsals tonight. I spoke to Sara online (as we've both been off) and we decided to get an early bus to Epcot so we could go eat. We were both up for a bit of sit down service, so we wandered around World Showcase and came across Germany! I've never eaten here and neither had Sara, so we went to see if they were taking walk in's. I'm glad we always send guests here because it's a very large restaurant and we waited about 10 minutes. That gave me plenty of time to take pictures of Christmas Germany outside. Once inside, we were seated at a large table. It's family style seating at the Biergarten, so you have to sit with other parties. It's also a buffet. We went a bit mad. I tried all the sausage which were very nice, and a lot of meat. I wasn't too keen on the warm potato salad, but at least I tried it. Dessert was the best bit though! Apple Strudel!!! Yum yum.
We finished just in time for the fireworks, so we watched them from just outside Germany. It wasn't that busy at all! After the fireworks we hung around by the lagoon, and then it was time to go and sign up backstage! There were a lot of people there . I had dressed in layers, because it can get very cold doing the overnight rehearsals. I needn't have worried though because once onstage the lights warmed us up. We ran through the show twice, and for the first one, Clay was conducting the overture and the last song! Slightly freaked out then.
The bus didn't arrive until about 2.50am (we finished at 2pm and called for a bus then, but I think it was one bus picking up all the random locations that requested stops) and so I got back just after 3am. So it must be bedtime! Hopefully it will be a good day of work! We shall see. Night night
21.11.2009: Discoooooooount
Today was a very busy shopping day! We started off by going to Publix
(yes I know, exciting) to buy all the parts for the Sunday roast we're
going to have tomorrow. I'll have been at work all day, but Jo and
Fiona are going to prepare it. I'm very excited! So after Publix we
came back to put everything in the fridge, and then caught the bus to
DTD. Today was the last day for 50% before Thanksgiving week (the
discount stops during this time) and boy did we spend. I got most of
the Christmas presents I'm going to send, though I still have a couple
to get. I made a bad mistake and went into Tren-D, which made me buy a
t-shirt. It's a new Evil Queen one and I love it! And with 50% off it
was a bargin!
Of course, shopping made us hungry (by this time
we had met up with Alex and Becky) so we headed over to Earl of
Sandwich. I got the Holiday Turkey Sandwich minus the cranberries
(yuck). I've had it before, and it was just as good!
Once we
finishd shopping in DTD, we went to Grand Floridian so we could catch
the monorail to MK! It was time to ride Space Mountain! It's only
just opened again and it's on soft opening, but luckily we came on a
good night. Very good in fact. As we got to the entrance (having
dumped our bags in a locker) they opened the line. I think the ride
had been down, and so we didn't have to wait at all! It's shame really
because now they have games in the queue line, but when we got out the
wait was 40 mins so I'm glad there was no queue.
We didn't stay
much longer after that. They were turning on the castle lights as we
left, and the others let me stay and watch them as I haven't seen them
this year. They are so pretty!
So now we're sat here, looking for pictures for our Rose and Crown advent calender. It's going to be awesome!
See you again tomorrow! Night night xx
13.11.2009: Sofas and Aliens
I spent a good amount of today on the sofa! No surprise really, but I haven't done it in a long time. Most of my days off lately have been really busy, so it was quite nice to do nothing for once. I did do some ironing, and I went to Walgreens to get some phone credit, milk and some bread (which for some random reason came with free eggs). I then came back and made some brownies! They taste awesome but don't look that good as they got stuck to the bottom of the pan. I think I tried to get them out too soon, but it did say to do it while they were warm! Stupid packet.
At about 6pm Jo came home, so I got my coat (because it's chilly outside) and we went to get the bus to DHS. Because today is Friday 13th, we went with Fiona, Cairi, Dave and Kirstie to ride ToT! It was quite an awesome photo as well! Afterwards we went to see if Toy Story Mania had a short line, but no such luck. As we came into the park, Fiona had gone to Guest Relations to see if they had an space at the Sci-Fi Diner, and they did! For 8.25pm. The park closes at 8pm, but because of that the restuarants stay open a little later. Whoop! On our way to the restaurant, we stopped to watch the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. It looks so awesome! Oh the lamposts they have facts about the lights, and one of them is that somewhere in the display is a purple cat that the Osbourne Family use in their Halloween lights. I must find that one evening!
Sci-Fi was brilliant! We got a really good table, and spent the time just looking around at the restuarant. We even saw some self-seaters (some moody kids in the car near us) which goes to show it's not just our restuarant! It was also a surprise to see that no kids were running around. We asked our server how they did it, and he said it was mainly the decor, and the fact that there's an enormous tv in front of them. Maybe that's what we need, along with a brick wall in front of lower deck.
We were pretty much the last people in the restuarant, but before we left, another server showed us all the Hidden Mickey's. There are a lot of unofficial ones, but we couldn't see the one in the tiles for love nor money. Maybe another time.
Right, now we're back and as I am working tomorrow I should probably go to bed! Night night xx
7.11.2009: Dragons, dino's and lists!
Today was another one of those fully packed days. I swear, there will be one day off next week where I don't go anywhere or do anything! This morning started off with a text that we were going to meet at the clubhouse at 10am so we could get the I-Ride to Universal. Well that was all good and well because I was already up and had showered, but I still needed to put my contacts in and do my make up. Dana spent around 45 minutes in the bathroom! Which meant I was a little late getting to the clubhouse. I needn't have worried though because Nicola had to run back to grab her Universal pass.
So after another I-Ride journey, we got to Universal. It was a bit packed today and we didn't really do much in Universal, but it was fun nonetheless. We refused to wait for 75mins for the new rollercoaster but we did the Mummy and Men in Black, before heading over to Islands of Adventure. I really can't be bothered to go through what we did, because it's the same everytime. However, Alex did get soaked on Jurassic Park, which was rather funny as the rest of us stayed dry!
Once we got back, Nicola and I went straight to Chatham to get on the A bus to MK. We had a good heart to heart about work, and then met up with Fiona at the bakery. We then watched Wishes, rode the Mansion, rode the Jungle cruised, and relaxed on the TTA!
I'm home now and I've just started doing my lasses costume. It's going to take ages! Night night xx
5.11.2009: Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
I'm not a big fan of having split days off. I mean, I know it's my own fault for having Sunday off (MNSSHP was so worth it!) but meh, I have to work again tomorrow and then have another day off, which will probably be jam packed as well. No rest for the wicked!
Today started off early with a whole lot of cleaning. Yes, it's once again time for inspection. Having decided that our vacuum cleaners really don't work, I trudged up to the front desk to obtain a vacuum and a mop and bucket. Oh yes, I mean business this time. It was so nice to have a clean floor! Everywhere! We've taken down everything off the walls that shouldn't be there (well at least everything that is mine and the stuff in the communal areas. I'm not touching anyone elses stuff because that would be rude) and given the place a nice scrub. It probably won't be good enough though. I really want the White Glove award but it's hard when you live with five other people!
Oh well, after a bit of cleaning I hopped on a bus to Epcot. Today we are celebrating Guy Fawkes Day in the pavilion (and I must have explained what it was a million times before I'd even got on the Cast bus to the front of the park) and so we were having a little celebration back stage. There was hamburgers and hot dogs and ice cream and drinks and crisps and free stuff! I also completed the UK quiz to win myself a pin and gave my passport to Yelitza so she can work on my extension. Must remember to get that back tomorrow. So I hung around a bit with a few of the others, and then went back to Cast Services to see what time my rehearsal was. I then went back onstage to go to the Art of Disney to buy a picture, and then headed on a bus to Downtown Disney to buy more presents! They didn't have the one thing I wanted to get, but in Arribos Bros they had the present I had been looking for months ago (but apparently sells out really quickly). I love cast discount.
Then it was back over to Port Orleans to catch the D bus over to the Disney Event Group. Rehearsals was rehearsals, so nothing much different there, except I'm hating my voice at the moment. It just needs to get better and I don't know what else to do! No more talking ever for me. I went to call the bus to pick us up after rehearsals, but their lines we down, so it took forever to get through to someone who could give us another number to call. Gah. By the time I finally got home, I just had enough time to go back to my apartment, clean the bathroom and then meet the others at the clubhouse so we could go for some food! Now seeing as I hadn't eaten since about 11.30am, I was starving, and I could have ordered the whole menu. But I didn't. I had chicken fajitas with chips instead of rice, and then had the Brownie Obsession for desert. YUM!
So right now I'm very full and sleepy and I have to work tomorrow. Let's hope it's a better day! Night all! xx
15.10.2009: So much to do, so little time.
At least that's what it felt like today! I must say it was a pretty jam packed fun filled day today. And good thing too because it took my mind off yesterday.
So Jo, Fiona and I started out early this morning by going to Evil PC. As usual we get up early so we can be there quite soon after it opens, but today it seemed like a waste! We went over to Partners first (so I could check my account and Jo could ask something), and then we treked across the desert/car park to Evil PC. It wasn't that great today. I did get a few bits (like a Prince Caspian movie book because I keep reading it in the shops as it's very interesting, some earings, a yellow old school poncho, a 30th Anniversary photo album, and a bag from Company D that would have cost me $45 at Universal, but I got for $10) but luckily there wasn't much there. Oh I also got an old school style MK t-shirt which I love.
So we got the bus back to the Commons. The bus driver was the one who likes to chat a lot, so he made us sit up at the front and tell him was the UK was like (wet and cold), what we had done at school (Biology, nursing and tourism!) and how Joanne would have a job for life with nursing, but Fiona needed another degree because one wouldn't do it. Much to the amusement of the only other person on the bus sitting opposite us. As we got to Chatham he told everyone getting in to stay in school, and then declared to the bus that we were from the UK. Thanks lol.
Then it was time to get ready for Blizzard Beach! We had an hour to get ready, so I went and put on my new tankini (that really expensive blue one I wanted and then found in Evil PC the other week) and then we got the bus! It wasn't that busy at BB today, although we did have to queue a little for the Downhill Double Dipper. Fiona screamed 'no, no, no' all the way down. It was rather funny hehe. We had great fun toboganing (if that's how you spell it) and were lazing in the river when it started to rain....and then thunder and lightning. So we bolted out of the water (we had been stalking a lifeguard who came to the chippy the other day. Apparently he's really good looking, but I wouldn't know seeing as I didn't have my glasses on or contacts in) and went back to our stuff. Where it proceeded to chuck it down. When it had calmed down a bit and the park had pretty much emptied, we went to get changed and have a wander in the shops. Then it was time for me to head off to rehearsals, and the others were going to one of the All Stars so Jo could get her pizza fix.
It was still raining when I got to Port Orleans, and I was pretty much soaked when I got to rehearsals (a kind woman did offer me her jacket, but the AC really wasn't that cold). Afterwards I was given a lift to PO where I got a bus to DHS. Well I finally got a bus after two Epcot, two MK, one DAK and one DTD had come and gone. Grrr. But eventually I did get to DHS where I went to Sweet Spells to get something to munch on, and met Fiona and Jo there. We went and rode ToT where a bellhop swore he knew Jo from somewhere, and then we went to queue for Fantasmic. We got amazing seats right down the front of the Mickey section (in the middle!) and I was so excited as I haven't seen Fantasmic in ages! The only hiccup they had was that the dragon wasn't working so Maleficent went up twice! She really did save the show though.
Afterwards we went and did some pintrading in the shops, and by time we got home we were desperate for a cup of tea, so we headed to Fiona's.
And now I'm back and we're going shopping tomorrow at the Prine Outlets, so I'm glad there wasn't much at Evil PC today! Night night xx
10.10.2009: Eating Around the World at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival!
This morning I didn't get up early either! But hey, it's my day off, I don't have to. I pottered around doing washing and eating breakfast and watching TV, before I went to catch the bus with Alex and Sian to go to Epcot. We were off to do Food and Wine. Sadly my camera had run out of battery, so I shall have to go back to get pictures to go in my scrapbook, which I shall be getting when our holiday discount kicks in. We started off by taking the Cast East bus to the front of the park, and entering that way, like we are supposed to. We then headed up to the Tower shops to get our F&W gift card. I put $40 on and I've only just spent over half of that, but luckily it works like a normal gift card and I can use it anywhere. When it's empty I'm going to put it in my scrapbook! I'm thinking of doing a page for every event that I've been to, and everything that has been significant on this program. Which is what I need to do for my last program too! I shall get round to it, promise! Jo and I are going to have scrapbooking sessions. But for now I'm going to put all the pieces in seperate bags and label them so I know what is for each page. Very exciting!
Sian hasn't been to a lot of the pavilions, so not only did we eat, but we ventured into most of the shops as well. The food was amazing. I didn't eat at many of the stands (I can always go back if I'm desperate) but what I did eat was fantastic. The first stand we ate at was Bangkok, Thailand, where we had chicken and coconut soup with mushrooms, lemongrass and ginger. It was such good soup. It made me feel like we were back in the Thai restaurant in Caterham. It tasted just like something I've had there. Our next stop was Munich, Germany, where Alex and I had apple strudel with vanilla sauce. That was also very good, though I'm sure it had gooseberries in it. Yuck. At Italy we all had primavera, which is strawberry, banana and peach slush. It was extremely refreshing and the potion size wasn't that bad at all! Alex and Sian had sushi in Japan, but I'm not a big fan of it so I skipped that, but I did have a beef kefta pita pocket from Marrakest, Morocco. That was an enormous portion size, but all the salad fell out lol. That was good too. We then moved right round to Canada where I had canadian cheddar cheese soup of course! Couldn't not have that. We then backtracked and went to Cork, Ireland, where we all had the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Ganache. I'm so glad we left that until last because it was definitely the highlight of our eating frenzy. It was a bit strong with the bailey's but still it tasted gorgeous! We were then going to get a drink in the pub, but it had just started to rain and it was packed. But then again it is Saturday. We went and said hi to podium, where I was filled in on the drama happening with the assignor. I presume I'll be welcomed back with open arms tomorrow. I only hope they don't think it was bad training on my part. I train everyone the same and the others all turned out ok.
So we then caught the bus home and I went straight to publix to get some jam and butter. Turns out I didn't need the butter because the cake mix requires oil, but oh well, I've got it just in case. Which means I have just finished icing a strawberry sponge (I've had it before and it tastes lovely) filled with vanilla frosting and strawberry jam, and topped off with the same frosting. I'm just waiting for it to harden a bit before I wrap cling film over it loosely. I can't wait to try some, but I'm just not hungry right now. I had a few sun chips (peppercorn and ranch flavour; I think they're my new favourites!) but I don't really need anything else to eat. So in a minute I'm going to get all my Eyes and Ears and cut out stuff for scrapbooking and put everything into bags. Then I'm going to have an early night, get up at 7.45am tomorrow and go to the gym for half an hour. I'll take a book and go on the bikes. They make my knees click, but I think it's the machine I need to use right now. Plus I can't read so well on the treadmill lol. Even though I've taken to walking and reading lately...pretty much like a real life Belle! In fact, on Monday it's Lucy's last Lasses and the theme is fairytale and storybook characters, so I get to wear my costume again. Kim is going as Belle in her ballgown, and there are a lot of awesome characters being chosen, so I reckon it will be a great night! We now have new heads as well: Gail and Holly, and I want to see what they do!
That's all I have to say for now. All in all it's been a good couple of says. But for now I must depart. And not spend money. We're going to the Prime Outlets at the other end of I-Drive next Friday, and either eating at Sanaa (which we made reservations for) or Sweet Tomatoes depending on what the others want to do. I need to start doing more stuff and saving more. We're going to look into cruise dates for around my birthday as well. We'll need to book the days off first, and if there isn't a cruise with space on it at that time, we'll go somewhere else last minute. Washington DC sounds good. They have a Nando's there! Maybe we could pop to Disneyland for a couple of days LOL.
Right, I really am going now. Night night xx
9.10.2009: Scream-along!
Well today has certainly been a mixture of different activities. I didn't get up early this morning (though I'm really going to have to start going to bed earlier and getting up earlier if I want to go to the gym every morning. Otherwise I just press the snooze button all the time) but then the Walmart bus doesn't go until 1.12pm on a Friday so I really didn't need to be up for anything. I did watch this film thing that was basically a story of Judy Garland's life. I was very interesting! When it finally was time to go to Walmart, I caught the bus. LOL. Funny that. I bought food to get me through the next few weeks (so I don't have to spend more money) and a baking pan so I can make a cake tomorrow. I really wanted to buy Snow White on DVD, but I'd rather have it in the UK region. However, it's only out for a limited time so I presume I'll need to get it soon.
Anyway, when I got back I unpacked and then it was time to go to rehearsals! I can actually sing this week, even though I have to be very careful when I sing high. But it seemed to go well and I'm very excited about Candlelight! Not so keen on being in the minority of 2nd Sopranos though LOL. There doesn't seem to be that many of us in rehearsals! In 2006 it was the other way round! It's also weird being in rehearsals for only 90 minutes, compared to Encore's two and a half hours!
So from rehearsals I walked back over to Port Orleans and took the bus to MK. I then got on the ferry over to the TTC and met Joanne there. We went Hidden Mickey Hunting! We started off over at the Grand Floridian, but one we couldn't find because it's two dark to see it outside, the luggage trolley one doesn't exist anymore, and we can't access the hallways unless we're staying there. We did have a nice chat with some guests about HHN though lol. I was wearing my 'I survived' t-shirt. So then it was onto the Contemporary. Here we found a couple of Hidden Mickey's, but then decided that we needed to go to the Polynesian to watch Hallowishes from the beach. We sat down in the sand and got any amazing view of the 180 degree fireworks. I'll put the pictures on facebook soon. We then looked for the Hidden Mickey's in the Poly, got some flowers and then caught the bus home. So now it really is time for bed. Night night xx
4.10.2009: It's Dumbledore!
It's very strange having a Sunday off when I'm usually working. I think it confuses everyone else as well lol. It's nice though, at leat I get two days off in a row this week instead of one on Saturday and then three later on. This morning Helen and I went to Ihop for breakfast. I've been looking forward to this for the past three days and I already knew what I wanted. It was very busy but we were seated pretty quickly. I got orange juice and had the Stuffed French Toast Combo. I wasn't too sure about the french toast because it was stuffed with sweet cream cheese (and I'm not the biggest cream cheese fan) but with the strawberries and stuff it was so good! I'll definitely be having that again. If only it didn't come with the eggs and sausage and has browns though. How one person can possibly eat all of that I don't know.
So after Ihop we went to the post office to get the bus back. Only to realise that the bus doesn't stop at the post office on Sunday's because it's not open. I phoned to request a pick up anyway and bluntly got told 'No'. The thing is, the timetable only states that the post office is closed on Sunday's, not that that request stop isn't available on Sunday's. What I'd give for my own car.
We walked back to Vista (turned out it wasn't that far really) and went down to the Learning Centre so I could buy my Halloween Horror Night ticket. I was going to get a frequent fear pass but seeing as I'll probably only go once I just got a ticket that was discounted for Annual Passholders. Meaning I only paid $35 for one night. Score! We then caught the bus to MK because we wanted to spend some time there. When we got there the parade was about to start so we sat and watched that. We got a big surprise as Bethany, who is friends with Alice in the UK, is also friends with the Alice in the parade! So we waved like maniacs and I'm not sure she saw us but I got some good pictures. How exciting!
We then rode the Jungle Cruise (where the skipper was really good, and Josh told me that the spiel was changing soon! Eek! How dare they! LOL. I better commandeer a boat soon then! We then rode Aladdin's Magic Carpets (bear in mind that Helen has never been to Disney before and hasn't properly done MK yet so we were doing as much as we could) and Pirates, where some annoying tourist was taking flash pictures. RUDE! We were then going to cool down on Splash Mountain, but the line was 40 minutes long and we had to leave before that, so we went and got ice crewam (well Helen did) from Mrs Potts, had a look around the Emporium and then took the monorail back to the TTC in time for the A bus.
Then it was time to get on the I-Ride to Universal . Michelle, Kirstie, Emily and Rachel were already there, so we were going to meet them. We got there pretty much in no time, and collected our tickets from Will Call. Once inside the fun really started hehe. There are lots of scare zones, which are zones in the street where scary people roam around. This years HHN's was based on horror films. They had some really good scare houses. Saw was probably the best and was definitely worth the wait. We waited longest for that you see. These random American guys started talking to us in line, and I think they thought we were younger than we are because they were about 15. We were slightly disturbed lol. All the scare houses were really good, and of course some were better than others. Poor Michelle was petrified and I'm sure Emily's shoulders will be all bruised tomorrow. As my hand might be. Haha.
We finished off the night with Dracula, bought 'I Survived' T-shirts and hand our picture outside the park. Helen didn't get a T-shirt so she pretended to play dead on the floor haha. We then got a taxi back and now we've all headed home to bed.
So it's quite late and I work tomorrow. Night night xx Mwhahahahahahaa
26.9.2009: A day of rest at last.
Today has been the first day I've had of complete relaxation since Mum and Rowan came! It started off with me getting up at 12.15pm, where I showered and relocated to the living room. So I've spent the day ironing and watching movies and TV. I watched Sex and the City the Movie, Finding Nemo and right now I'm watching Happy Feet.
I was going to clean today but I never got round to it, so I might do that tomorrow when I get back from work. Although actually I'm going to have to go to bed early tomorrow night because we're going to the pin event at the Salsa sale on Monday and we're leaving at some stupid time like 6am. It'll be worth it though. So I might clean tomorrow morning.
My back has really hurt today. I don't know if I've slept funny or if I've pulled something or there was a draught last night. I have been using two pillows lately because of my cold, but I'm not sure. Either wait hurts quite a bit.
It's also just started to rain really hard. And thunder and lightning. I might go to bed in a minute. I want to finish watching Happy Feet but we've got it on DVD at home so I'm not that bothered. I've also just finished shredding all my receipts which is really hard when you don't have a shredder and have to do it by hand.
Anyway, I'm off to read and sleep. Night night xx
16.9.2009: Backstage Magic!
So after our late night last night we had to get up really early to do the Backstage Magic tour. We drove to Epcot where we met the rest of the group outside the entrance. We all had to do introductions and then were taken to a Disney Cruise Line bus which would be taking us around. Our guides were really nice and very funny. Our first stop was backstage Epcot where we were taken over to the American Adventure. I've never been inside it from the backstage entrance, but we got shown into the maintanence area which showed us exactly how the show works. It's actually very interesting and it's weird to know that all the animatronics start off underneath the audience. Madness! We were then taken out onto the promenade where we learnt about perspective and how they design the buildings so not everything has to be in great detail. It's weird because now I walk around looking at all the buildings to see where the small details end. We then ventured back onto the bus and started on our way to our next location.
Which was DHS! Once again we went in backstage and got taken to the ToT. Now obviously I've done tthe ToT backstage tour already so nothing they said was new to me, but it was nice because I could fill Mum and Rowan in on details they hadn't been told. We then went over to the Backlot tour and got taken into Costuming (you know, that bit you get to see when you do the Backlot Tour...we're now famous!) It is the most amazing place. You wouldn't believe the willpower it took me to not to start trying everything on! Then it was on to lunch! With this tour you get lunch included, and it was at the Whispering Canyon Cafe! The food there is awesome and I ate loads! We all had a good chat about stuff...me mainly talking about work, but everyone was really nice. One couple were from the UK and this was their first time visiting Disney. And doing a tour already! Go them.
After lunch we got back on the bus and headed over towards backstage MK. We didn't go straight there, but headed over to the industrial part. We first visited Textile Services, which although sounds boring, was really interesting to see. We got to see what happens to all the laundry. It seriously looks like where they got the idea for the doors in Monster's Inc. It's also where they press the costumes used in the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique so that they look nice when the kids put them on! It really is like an army operation. It also showed us that the barcodes on the costumes aren't just simply used for us when we check them out, but for the whole laundry process! Next was Central Shops where they make everything! All the Space Mountain cars were there being touched up, and we got to see lots of things either being made or repaired. We got to see how animatronics work, and the office where our nametags are made!
Then it was back onto the bus and we went backstage MK! Not the Tunnel entrance way, but round the front where the pluto bus goes! They were having a cast celebration behind the bakery (like the one we had at World Showplace). We went down into the Tunnels and explored beneath Main Street, and then we were taken upstairs to see the parade! One of our guides used to be a parade manager so while the parade was going on, we listened to her on our ear pieces.
So that was the end of the tour. We got back on the bus for one last time, and went back to Epcot. It really was an awesome tour, and well worth the money, so I'd recommend it to anyone!
We then went to DTD! We had some shopping to do, and then afterwards we took all my stuff back to the Commons. And now we've just got back from Denny's! YUM!
It's been a long day so we're going to bed now. Night night xx
15.9.2009: Boo to You! Happy Halloween!
I don't normally have Tuesday's off, but this week I changed my days off because the family are here obviously! This morning we went to Blizzard Beach. I stayed at the Commons last night so I got the bus from there. It was perfect timing because as no one needed to get off at any of the All Star resorts (and this bus wasn't picking up from any of them) we went straight there. I was walking up from backstage where the bus drops us off and Mum's car was just pulling into a space. Whoop! At the moment I get in free, and so I get 50% off for guests. So once I'd got changed and we found a place to put our stuff, we went and did lots of stuff! We did the lazy river, and the family raft with three old men. It was hilarious. I don't like how you have to have a minimum of four people in the raft now though. Not much of a family ride if you have to ride with someone elses family! Ah well.
We spent a good couple of hours there, doing the taboggin runs a couple of times, but not daring to do Summit Plummit. No thank you! We then left and headed back to AKL so we could go have lunch at Sanaa. If you've never been there you have to try this restaurant. It's Indian mixed with African food and it's amazing! We had a Indian bread selection for a starter, which includes three different naan breads and three sauces to have with it. They were so good I could have just eaten those for my whole meal. We were very lucky because we got a table right by the windows so we could watch the animals. I took lots of pictures instead of eating LOL. For entree I had naan bread with salad and tandoori chicken on top. It was so good but there was so much there I couldn't eat it all, so it's now sitting in the fridge in a little to-go box. YUM! For desert I had this kind of cake thing, but as I can't remember what it's called you'll just have to go try it yourself! I definitely recomend it and it was probably one of the best dining experiences I have even had at WDW. Though V&A's still beats them all hehe.
We had a look around Kidani Village (the DVC villa section of AKL where Sanaa is) and took a trip to see the pool, before coming back to the room to get ready for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! If I do say so myself, my costume looked awesome! And it felt even better because I actually made it! I must say, we all looked pretty good though. We had our picture taken in the lobby
and then went to get the bus to MK. A couple of guests took pictures of us and it felt really odd to have people staring. You get used to it though! We were at the park a while before the party actually started (you're allowed in at 4pm even though it doesn't start until 7pm) so we had a chance to do rides and get pictures taken before it got dark. Of course, it decided to rain and I didn't have an unbrella, but it wasn't that hard so we still looked ok. We got to do the TTA for the first time since it's been closed, but they put up screens around the inside of Space so you can't see anything. Boo.
I'd go into great detail about the evening, but we did so much it would take forever. The parade and fireworks where awesome even though we didn't get to see the Headless Horseman because of the rain, and we got lots of candy. Mmhmm, The best part and possibly the worst part of the evening though was the amount of children who really thought I was Belle! It was really hard not to fall into character and really be Belle, though I wanted to so much. It just makes me think of how much I want to be friends with Belle. Or anyone in fact! One little girl was walking behind us as we were going to sit down in Stitch's Great Escape and kept saying to her Dad that she wanted to sit next to Belle. She was the cutest little thing dressed up as Cinderella, and we had a good conversation on the way out. Another little girl chosen to be Boo in the Laugh Floor couldn't stop from turning round and looking as well (which reminds me, as Rowan went as a doctor he got picked on at the beginning LOL).
But now it's really late and we so have to do the party again. It's been a fab night but tomorrow we're doing the Backstage Magic tour and have to be up early! Eek! So bedtime for us! Night night xx
12.9.2009: Safari, so good!
Cheesy I now, but today we moved to Animal Kingdom Lodge! But before we got there we went to the post office first! We had to send the Queen of Hearts dress back because it didn't fit but it didn't half take some doing. We had to go online to get the process started to return the dress, then go to the clubhouse to print out the paper and argh! Why couldn't they just make it simple?
Anyway so eventually we got to AKL. We had a room with bunkbeds which was fine because it means we all get a bed. Whoop!
So then it was time to go to the Florida Mall. It was a bad day because JCPennny's had a sale on so that meant I spent lots of money. I got three dresses (two of which Mum bought for me because I couldn't decide which one I liked best...thanks Mum! ), shorts, and shoes and a shirt for my Belle costume! After the mall we went to Michaels so I could get some blue ribbon, of which I bought a roll for 54 cents! Bargin! We then popped over to Coldstone Cremery where I had Birthday Cake Remix. Remind me just to get the small size next time; far too much ice cream for me!
For dinner tonight we went to Ihop. Mum and Rowan have never been there, and I think we ended up being the only people in the place.
So now we're back and I have to go to work tomorrow, so I'm off to bed.
Night night xx
11.9.2009: Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...Tip for today!
I have no tip, but I just heard that so that's my title for this blog. Todaaaaaaaaaaaay was Universal day! And we did a lot of stuff! We started off in Universal by doing the new rollercoaster. However it started to rain while we were queuing, but we had queued for so long there was no way I wasn't riding it, so I embraced the pain and rode it out. It wasn't torrential rain so it wasn't all that bad lol. We also did ET (where he actually said my name this time!), Simpsons, we then ate at the International Food and Film Festival (where I had orange chicken. Not the best I've had but meh), then rode MIB (I won! ) and then headed to Jaws. I was the brave one who sat on the left hand side of the boat, and consequently got soaked. As in I had a tidal wave come over me. Stupid shark. So we went to dry off at The Mummy haha! We also did the Horror Make Up Show which Mum and Rowan have never done. It was good except Mum was scared that they would pick her to go up on stage. Hehe. On the way out of the park I bought a Sponge Bob t-shirt (the sparkly one) and an 'Othello' cookie. It is massive and I haven't eaten it all yet, but it's so good!
Over at Islands we of course did Cat in the Hat, Dueling Dragons (where there were really annoying kids shouting in the queue line, which as some of you know is in a tunnel so it sounds a lot louder and argh! We also got to see the construction for the Wonderful World of Harry Potter. You can see where Hogsmeade is coming along with regards to the building, but none of it actually looks like anything yet. It's a shame I won't be here for it when it opens. Gutted ), got wet again Jurassic Park and Ripsaw Falls, and once again dried off at Spiderman! Haha. Lastly we did the Hulk. And all in about an hour! That's how much time we had!
So then we had to head home and back to the Commons to pick up some more stuff, and then back to the Poly so we could get ready for the Spirit of Aloha. Luau Cove is right behind our building so we didn't have far to go. We queue up and got our picture taken and then got taken to our table. We paid for Tier 1 (which is the most expensive!) and were sat right at the front just to the right of the stage. They were awesome seats! The meal was a buffet that was brought to our table and it was delicious! Especially the pineapple and the ribs. But of course, being at the front we were bound to get picked on, so Rowan and I were chosen to go up onstage and dance with the dancers. I haven't seen the video and I'm not sure I want to! Oh well, we ate loads and now we've just come back from swimming. With the ducks who were in the pool. Silly ducks. So now I'm getting ready to go to bed. In the bunkbed lol. The ladder really hurts my feet. Oh well. Night night xx
10.9.2009: I'm running out of things to put here....
Well we did quite a lot of different things today. First off we got up fairly early to go to Busch Gardens. Once again we almost missed the turn off for the park, but that's their own fault if you can only see the sign coming from the other direction. We spent a good five hours there! We actually did Tidal Wave this time which I don't think we've ever done before, but because it was so hot we decided to give it a go! Once again the Pirates 4D show wasn't on. I think that's only ever been open once when we've gone. Shame because I remember liking it. Once again we did Sheikra which I love. It's such a clever attraction. Montu however always seems to give me a headache and I'm not sure why. The only other rollercoaster that does that is Kraken at Sea World. Which I haven't been to in years.
So on the way home we went to Denny's. YUM! We then stopped off at the Commons and then headed over to the Premium Outlets. We went to look at some shoes for my costume but nothing seemed to work or they didn't have my size. I saw some lovely shoes though!
Earlier we were going to go to DHS to see Fantasmic, but the bus took too long to arrive so we decided to go have cocktails at the bar! I can't remember what my drink was called, but Mum and I both had the cocktail in a pineapple! It was amazing! Very strong, but there was a lot of pineapple left so I cut all that out and ate it Mmmmm. I've just put my sewing machine away from finishing my apron so that's all done. It just needs a bit of an iron now. So I'm off to get some drinks, and I think Wishes is on so I might stop to watch them on the way back from getting the drinks! And then it's bed, so I shall leave you all now!
Night night xx
5.9.2009: Never ending pasta!
This morning Michelle, Sarah, Rachel, Fiona and I got up stupidly early to meet at the Clubhouse at 8am. We then got the I-ride to Universal!!! I do love this park. We got there just after opening, so that we could get in line for the new rollercoaster. It's called something like Rip It, Rock It, Ride It or something crazy like that. I get confused. Anyway, it was awesome! It doesn't actually go upside-down, but you can choose your own soundtrack for it. I had 'I Will Survive' which I think was very appropriate for that rollercoaster hehe.
So we've spent all day at Universal. We didn't go over to Islands, but we did do the Beetlejuice Graveyard Review. I've never seen it before and it was really good!
So we got the I-ride back down International Drive to Olive Garden. I got the never ending pasta bowl of which I had one bowl. It was massive! I didn't even eat all of that so I've brought the rest home to take to work tomorrow. Yum!
So now I'm back and I've just done some more sewing. I'm getting very excited about this costume! Mum and Rowan come tomorrow YAY!
Right bedtime. Night xx
4.9.2009: I feel like one of the mice from Cinderella.
I really do, I've done that much sewing. Good news is though, I've nearly finished it! As in the skirt and bodice is done, I just need to finish the apron strings. I'm so excited! It's going to look awesome.
I really don't have much to write. Michelle and I are off to the outlets in a minute to get some chinese, but that's about it. So I shall bid you all goodnight....night!
3.9.2009: Purple Pixie!
Oooh I went to Walmart this morning! And I bought a sewing machine!!! It's the Singer Pixie and it's so cute! It only does the basic stuff but I don't need anything snazzy. Plus it's small enough that I will be able to take it home. And it works on batteries!
So today I've pretty much stayed in all day sewing. I had a few hiccups with the machine because one part wasn't inserted properly, but now I'm well on my way to finishing my costume. Which is good because the party is like, two weeks!
To finish off the day Jo, Cairi and I went to CiCi's for buffet pizza. I'd already eaten, but I was still hungry so I ate some more! Mmmmm dessert pizza.
I guess I should go to bed then. I'm off again tomorrow and I think I'll be doing lots more sewing. Night night xx
29.8.2009: Surfin' USA!
This morning Fiona, Rebecca and I went to Typhoon Lagoon for opening at 10am! It's now free to get in for Cast Members until next February so we're taking full advantage of it. We got a locker and then spent the day doing all the slides (except for those scary straight down ones), spent loads of time in the lazy river, and dodged a few waves in the pool. And despite me putting on so much suntan lotion that I was almost looking like a bottle of it, I still got a little bit burnt. At lot of it has gone down now so it's just mainly my shoulders that are a little painful, but at least my arms all look the same colour now!
So now we're home after spending six hours there, and I'm not sure what to do. Someone got told there was a parade viewing tonight for MNSSHP but after much confusion we've found out it's actually on Wednesday, so I'm glad we didn't get there to find out! I know the others are off the iHOP later, but they're going about 11pm and I want to be asleep by then! It's not even 10pm yet and I think I might go now. Laying in a rubber ring for hours makes you very tired!
So with that, I'm going to set my apron aside and continue sewing it tomorrow, and I will blog again then! Night night xx
28.8.2009: It's done!
Today I really have lounged around. The only places I have been is the front desk to try to pick up a package but couldn't because Harumi needs to sign for it, and Walmart. I didn't feel too good this morning so I didn't go to DHS with Jo, but I did lounge in front of the TV whilst making my Belle costume! And I've finished the skirt! Just now. I am so happy with it, though it needs a bit of an iron and is a tad loose, but what the hey. Now I just have to do the top and the apron, and find a shirt that will do! I'm also waiting for my wig to arrive. That's really all I have to say. I'm currently watching Hey, Mr Producer, having just finished watching The Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie. It was good!
Right, it's quite late and I have to be up in the morning to go to Typhoon Lagoon with Fiona and Rebecca. Night night xx
27.8.2009: Grease is the word!
I didn't wake up until 11.30am today! And all I've basically done is sat on the sofa all day. I've gotten quite far with the skirt of my Belle costume, so it's looking really good now! However, today was the day we went to see Grease! I went with Sian and Becky. It was amazing! The cast was really good and it was so much fun. We had front row Balcony seats which was fantastic seeing as we only paid $18 for a ticket. The songs were brilliant and I got a Playbill and a program so they can go to my collection!
When we got back to Vista we went straight to Bennies for Tino's last song. I got some fries and onion rings and we spent a good few hours there. Then it came the time for Tino's last song outside. This is where we all stand in a circle with Tino in the middle and we sing the last song and it all get's a but emotional. Tino really was the life and soul of the UK Pavilion (and he shared my Wicked obsession!) so he will be sorely missed!
So now we're back and it's nearly 3am so I'm off to bed. Jo is going to DHS tomorrow but I don't know if I'll be going. My throat still hurts a lot so I want to rest it, and I also need to go to Walmart so that needs to be done. OK I'm falling asleep now. Night night xx
22.8.2009: On this magic night...
Today was another of those lazy days. Well semi lazy days I suppose. I have to work tomorrow so I like to do nothing the day before and actually rest. So I stayed in! I watched Mean Girls and Cheaper by the Dozen this morning whilst doing washing and ironing. Now the pile of ironing by the dresser has gone it looks a lot tidier! I then decided I needed to go to Walmart to get some bits for Lasses. The theme next week is Cops and Robbers so I'm going as a cop. Or rather, a policewoman with a sheriff badge haha. I got a black hat and black kids clip on tie and some white, square labels to stick on to make it look like proper police stuff. I'll feel like an extra in The Bill! I have a white shirt but I'll have to wear my black and pink shorts because Walmart didn't have any! They didn't have any decent white shirts either. Oh well.
So when I got back I got on the C bus to go to Epcot to meet Michelle. We then caught the Cast East bus to the front of the park and took the monorail to MK. I got a tomato, mozorella and pesto sandwich from the bakery (my first since I've been here....YUM!) and then we went and did the Laugh Floor...it was so funny this time! Very funny in fact. We went to meet Helen, Sarah, Charlotte, Alana and a girl whose name I can't remember...argh I'm so bad! We went to ride Thunder but the line was too long, and then we went to ride Pirates but it went 101 as we got there. So then we went to Sleepy Hollow to get funnel cakes and then up to Mrs Potts to get sundaes! Double YUM! The newbies then decided to leave as they were very tired, but Michelle and I stayed to watch Spectro, mainly because Gina was parade escort and I wanted to say hi! It was actually nice to leave before Wishes because the monorail wasn't crowded and neither was the A bus.
Now I'm home and blogging and watching TV. I have work again tomorrow so I should go to bed soon. Another four days until a day off. I'm sure I can cope haha! I have new rolls to try for lunch tomorrow. They better be good!
Night night xx
21.8.2009: Newbies!
Eeeee a lie in today. I was so tired last night that my contacts were giving me a headache. Well I had had them in for 18 hours! Anyway. I went across to the outlets for some rice and orange chicken. I also bought some cookies too. Whoop. So on the way back Michelle texted me to say she had gotten an ER and if I wanted to do something fun. Well I did say it was too hot and I wanted to sit in front of the TV, but she bullied me into doing something fun so we went to DHS. I dragged her over to the Art of Disney Animation to draw a character. We drew Tigger. As usual mine wasn't perfect but at least it looks like him. Yay! We then went and rode ToT and Michelle got a frozen lemonade. We then decided it was time to leave and head back to the Commons to meet everyone who was coming out for dinner with us. Michelle, Lee, Jess, Helen and I walked to the outlets and jumped on the I-Ride. We decided on Ponderosa. YUM! I had fish and trips as an entree, and of course the buffet comes free with that so I ate loads! It was worth it though. By the time we got back it was almost time to go to the meet and greet. It was all the way down in block four so Jo and I had to walk the entire length of the Commons. Boo. I had a good time though, even if I didn't go to the pool party afterwards. It's been raining all evening and I'm glad I didn't go because everyone got bitten! Haha. So now I'm going to bed. Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow, but probably not a lot!
Night night xx
20.8.2009: Kwa Herini
Today has been one very very very very very long day. It started by me having only four hours sleep and getting up at 7am. Rachel, Cairi and I got the 8.18 bus to DHS so we could be there before opening. That meant that when we got to the TSM FP queue, we got a time that wasn't eight hours away! Score! We then went to that Hollywood bakery place next to the Hollywood Brown Derby for breakfast, and then went down to ToT. Cairi doesn't really like this ride, but it was rather amusing and very loud riding it with her! Let's just say her scream sound like she's really being struck by lightning. Hehe. So after we got off that we decided to bypass RnR because the queue would be ridiculous, and went to do Muppets. However by the time I was finished in the restroom it was time to use our Fastpasses, so we went and did TSM. I didn't get as much as I normally do, but it was still lots of fun!
We then left the park to get a friendship boat over to Epcot. Today was the day they were having a Cast Celebration at World Showplace. Oh my goodness it was amazing. There was so much food, and there were characters and a merchandise sale and a DJ and all kinds of stuff going on! I spent $70 at the sale....eek! I got some good stuff though. Rachel went up on stage to be the happiest vegetarian and won a basket of organic fruit. Whoop! The tomatoes were amazing!
So when we got back I met Kev at the Commons bus stop and we walked down to mine to drop off my stuff (with him moaning about how far it was...no change there then ). We then went to the outlets so Kev could get food and do some shopping before he left. We walked back to Patterson where they were having a pool party so while he was packing I went to grab some pizza and drink and crisps. Free food all day! Then it was time to catch the bus to MK. It was a lot of ICP's last night tonight, but it wasn't as emotional as I thought it would be. Kev and I have promised not to leave it another three years until we see each other again...which is why Salzburg and Disneyland Paris is on the cards....hmmm lets see shall we lol.
After Wishes Michelle, Jay and I came home and now I'm going to bed. I've been up far too long and have a horrible headache. Night night xx
15.8.2009: Beep beep beep
I didn't wake up until 11.30am today! I must have needed all that sleep because usually I wake up at 9am on my days off if the alarm isn't set. I always feel like I'm wasting half a day though. So I set about getting ready and then caught the bus to Vista so I could first transfer some money into my checking account. This was so I could book the Backstage Magic tour later on when I got home. I then went over to the Halloween shop that has just opened up where the old Denim World type place is next to Chik-fil-A. It was pretty awesome and they have some amazing costumes for sale, but they are a tad expensive. No more than online I guess. I was really looking for a wig so I can be Belle at Halloween, but nothing stood out. However, I've just had a look on Ebay for a wig and have found the perfect one! The only problem is that paypal won't let me add my Partners card so I can't buy it yet! I may have to open a new account just to put that on. The only problem is that paypal says my two email addresses have already been used and I don't remember the passwords. Oh well. I really want that wig though even if it's going to cost me $50 including shipping.
Anyway back to earlier. After browsing round the Halloween shop (and buying a feather boa for lasses) I ate at Chik-fil-A (very convenient LOL) and then went to Walgreens to purchase some milk and eggs. Very exciting stuff. I then came home and proceeded to book the Backstage Magic tour (very exciting!) and then went to put the dining plan on our resort reservation. Only to find out that the whole 50% off thing ended today! Not impressed! So now all those reservations I have made are pointless because without the dining plan we can't go!
Argh.
So tonight I made sausage, chips and beans for Jo and I. It was very good if I do say so myself, except the sausages are massive so I might have one for lunch tomorrow. Mmm sausage sandwiches. I'm not sure what happened to our ice cream and singing night tonight, but I imagine Gina got caught up elsewhere. It's weird that all the ICP's are leaving soon. But then again I haven't seen much of them so it probably won't have much of an impact!
We've just had security round twice because our smoke alarms keep going off for no reason. They think it might be the batteries but they'll send maintanence round tomorrow to have a look. So long as they don't keep going off all night! It was funny because when the alarm went off the first time the first thing Jo and I thought of doing was keeping our laptops dry (we thought the sprinklers might go off!) Haha, we have good priorities.
So I'm very sleepy and I really like my new room. It feels a lot more cosier than my last one! So night night, I'll blog aain tomorrow.
8.8.2009: Who loves fireworks???
So this morning my plan was to do absolutely nothing all day and just watch films. So that's pretty much all I did, as well as lots of washing. Kev then invited me to Epcot with oodles of GMR CM's to eat and watch fireworks! We ate at Sunshine Seasons. I had an awesome chicken wrap (I seem to have gone a bit mad on those lately!), tomato and mozorella salad (again, YUM!) and a pineapple upsidedown cake. So good, but I was so stuffed. We rode SSE and then watched Illuminations! During this time we decided that running to the monorail and going to see Wishes after Illuminations was a good idea, so that's what we did! We were originally with a lot of people (which freaked me out just a little bit, but I think I coped well!) but only four of us ran for the monorail! By the time we got there we were all pretty gross, but we made it to MK with 20 minutes to spare! We watched Wishes and then got backdoored onto Thunder Mountain (Splash had just been evactuated so the line was ridiculous for Thunder...woo for knowing people!) and then also got backdoored onto Mansion! We actually got on at unload and then travelled around the corner to load. Kev and I have never done that before so that was pretty cool! Then it was time for an ice cream sundae from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Yum!!!! We then spent a year in the Emporium, so Dan and I took the resort monorail to the TTC and waited for the others to get there. I always feel really guilty being in the park almost TWO HOURS after close because I know what it's like to have guests hanging around. So I left haha. We ran to get the A bus and have only just got home now!
So I guess it's bedtime. Work tomorrow! Night night xx
7.8.2009: DAK!
Today has been a really fun day, full of lot's of walking and attractions and wrong turns and hotness. This morning I did the Kilomanjaro Safaris backstage tour. We had to meet at the Commons at 9.15am (after I had run to the outlets to get credit, only to realise they weren't open, so I had to run all the way back and decide to go after the tour) but didn't actually leave until about 9.45am. There was only 15 of us and it was such a good tour! There wasn't as much detail as some of the tours I've been on, but it was nice to see backstage DAK for once! So as usual, I'm not going to divulge Disney secrets to you; you'll have to ask me all about it.
So after the tour we got driven back to the Commons, and I ran over to the outlets again to finally get some credit. Once I got back I jumped on the J bus to DAK and when I got there I met Jo, Michelle, Matt and Becky outside Dinosaur. It's funny to know that Michelle is petrified of that attraction! So why she went on it I don't know . We then went to see if the others could use their EE FP's (haha) but they still had an hour and half to wait, so we wandered over to Pizzafari to get food. Mmm pizza and salad. Then it was time to go to Festival of the Lion King! I do love this show. We were giraffes this time. So we had a good sing-a-long and worked out that Michelle can't clap in time!
We did a whole bunch of stuff today but I don't remember what order. We did EE (I managed to get on without a FP) and Finding Nemo: The Musical (not the best cast I've seen, but Marlin and Dory were good) and we walked around for ages getting lost trying to find the safaris. We found it eventually and the 10 minute wait turned out to be just the walk to the front! We sat in the back two rows (the bumpiest!) and set off. There were some really good pictures, and our driver stopped at some points for us to get good pictures. It's a really good time to go just before it closes because it's a lot more relaxed and there are less people crammed in. We got some really good pictures!
So then it was time to return home. Once I got back, Michelle and I went for food at the outlets and then walked to Chatham to get the A bus to MK. At MK we met Robyn, Gerald and Kev and proceeded to have oodles of fun! We watched Wishes and Spectro and did Mickey's Philarmagic and generally spent our time running around the park!
So now I'm really tired and I'm getting up early tomorrow to go to Evil PC. I want to spend money! I don't know what else I'm doing but a day in front of the TV sounds good. Maybe I'll even tidy up.
Right, bedtime. Night night xx
3.8.2009: HAPPY 6TH MONTHS!
Robyn and I have been in Disney today for 6 months! Can you believe it? Hopefully that means 9 more months to go if they let me extend. They better!
So today we were going to spend the whole day out doing stuff, but Robyn is still really ill so I spent a good amount of it on the sofa not doing a lot. However, in the afternoon I decided that no matter what I was going to get dressed up and go to MK. So I got ready in my lovely black dress (and curled my hair and then brushed it out again. It looked good until the humidity got its hands on it). I then met Kev at Patterson and we got the bus to MK. I got a Happy Anniversary button (as did Kev for celebrating his two months!) and we headed over to Pecos to get food. Yum! We then road the Riverboat and then walked the Treehouse (which is quite difficult when you keep falling out of your heels) and then headed to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlour for an ice cream sundae. Then it was time to get the bus to the Boardwalk. One of Kev's friends was having her birthday at Jellyrolls and I've never been before. It was so much fun! They have dualing piano's and you can request songs to be played. They also have this awesome drink called 'The Yellow Brick Wall'. I'll definitely be going back sometime!
So we left about 11pm and got a taxi back, and now I'm just chatting on MSN and about to go to bed. Night night xx
1.8.2009: BORED
Today we really did nothing. We sat in front of the TV and watched Center Stage and tried to watch Prince Caspian but it wouldn't work for some reason. Eventually I got bored so I went to MK all on my own! It was quite nice actually. I didn't ride any attractions but I took some pictures and tried to do some Hidden Mickey Hunting but my camera ran out of battery. So I went to get some fries from Cosmic Rays and sat outside in view of the castle and read my book (which I'm sure I have read before. I think we have it at home). It was very peaceful. I then went to Guest Relations to see if they had any reservations for the Wishes Desert Party for Monday, but they were fully booked so that's that idea out of the window. I then staked my place outside the firehouse about an hour before the parade, and read some more of my book. It was nice to watch Spectro without having to worry about taking pictures. I do love it!
I then had wander through the Emporium to work out what I'd need to buy over the year. Then it was Wishes time! I think that managed to remind me of why I'm here and that I'd certainly miss being able to see fireworks whenever I wanted.
Anyway I'm finally back now. I met Rich and Chris whilst waiting for the bus and we had good fun slouching in our seats at West Clock so the CM's couldn't see we had been playing. I know it's mean to take seats, but no one cares about this at Epcot with the C bus, so why should we care at MK? They need a seperate bus that just goes to the TTC and all the complexes for people who are playing. Makes sense, no?
Anyway, night night people. Back to work tomorrow! xx
31.7.2009: They expect to find Mickey in THAT???
Ooooh today was shopping day! Seeing as I didn't get much done yesterday, I decided to go spend my paycheck at Evil PC. I got a good haul as well! I got a t-shirt and the Tower of Terror DVD (which I've yet to see) amongst other things. When I got back I hopped on the F bus with Rowan's package and got that sent off, and then as soon as I got back I went to Walmart! This time however I actually got stuff I could take and eat at work, instead of stuff that needs to be frozen or isn't going to fill me up at all.
So later on I got bored, so Jo, Rach and I decided to go to AKL to go Hidden Mickey Hunting! They have 20 Hidden Mickey's there, and I won't lie about us having to use the hints quite a few times. Some of them are really hard! One of them is on a column of vines...and this column is massive. Rach spotted it first! Good eyesight hehe. It was lots of fun, but one we couldn't find so we'll have to go back sometime.
So we came back, and they went to get ready to go to the meet and greet, whereas I headed off to McD's with Kev, Vic and Michelle.
Right, I have another day off tomorrow, and Robyn and I are supposed to be going to DHS, but she's so ill I imagine it won't happen.
Night night xx
30.7.2009: Oh what a day.
This morning I got up quite late and did nothing! Basically a lot of waiting around and facebooking and chatting to people. The usual then. Originally Dan wasn't going to come with us to the mall because he had work stuff to sort out, but by the time he had finished we still hadn't left. That made things slightly less awkward.
So we eventually left for the Florida Mall. The cash machine at the Commons was broken so I went to Patterson so meet Kev and Dan and to get money, but their one wasn't working either, so we made a stop at Chatham to use theirs. We then walked to the Premium Outlets to catch the I-Ride up International Drive. From there I didn't really know what to do, so we ended up getting a taxi to the mall. It wasn't too far so all was good.
So then Kev went a little mad in Hollister. I didn't realise the extent of his obsession! I'm sure we spent a good hour in there. I spent most of it in a chair looking at magazines. Dan did the wrong thing in offering to help carry stuff. Haha. I know better
Afterwards we went to the Disney Store, but by this time I wasn't in the mood to shop (it's what boredom does to you) and we started to make our way home. We actually got a taxi all the way back and it wasn't too bad! Better than taking the I-Ride anyway. So although it was fun, it was kind of a waste of my day. Ah well.
Dan and Kev had to go to their ICP Graduation (in the rain...eek) and so I headed home and then wandered over to the Premium Outlets to get some credit for my phone. Robyn and I decided that we wanted to have pizza (a nice change from McD's lol) and watch a DVD, so after their graduation Kev and Dan came over and we ordered Papa Johns (never again mind) who messed up the order so many times. In the end we got the pizza for free so woo! We also watched The Sound of Music (which Dan has never seen, shame on you!) Michelle came and watched too haha. I really want to go to Salzburg. Really, really want to.
So now everyone has gone and I've got a full day of shopping tomorrow. So bed time it is. Night night xx
25.7.2009: It's time for a REVOLUTION!
It was the last show tonight! So sad but I'm coping well lol. So this morning Robyn and I stayed in bed for ages, before moving to the sofa to watch HSM3. We were originally going to DHS but Robyn really isn't well and I need some rest before going back to work properly. I'm not sure I'll be ready for full shifts! So eventually I decided to get ready for the last time in all my whiteness. As normal I got ready at Cast Services before getting the bus to the UK, where I dropped off all my stuff and went to get some chips. I was really hoping my voice would hold out for the night (and luckily it did) but decided some proper food and salt was in order. They really do help your throat.
So I took stupid amounts of pictures of really random stuff. I also got some video of the choir singing Because and How Blest We Are when we were warming up. Such an amazing choir, if only I were here next year.
So then it was show time. They had added about 100 extra chairs and even when it came to the show actually starting there were people standing at the back. So a full house! It was quite an emotional show though. I think everyone cried during Let It Be, and I did when it was all over! It was truly a fantastic show and I can't wait to get the DVD so I can see it from the audiences perspective. I might get all the other years as well because I was watching a youtube video of a program that did a short documentary of Encore (and it was weird to see so many familiar faces in it!) and I want to see all the shows they did! ENCORE forever! We had to stay to strike the set, which I think helped me not feel too upset about everything ending. It all came down really fast as well and all you could see was chairs stacked all over the place.
So then the CP's all jumped into Kristin's bus and headed to TGI's. There were some other Encorians there and I'm sure everyone was wondering why we were dressed in white. We got appetizers and deserts and then all headed home for sleep!
Tomorrow I'm assigning for a full day! Strangness. So I should sleep as it's really late. There is glitter all over the place!
Night night xx
24.7.2009: The one where Jo is a little bit shell shocked at Evil PC...
So Jo and I went to Ponderosa this morning! We got the bus to Vista Way and then walked to the one up the road. Well I say up the road, it's a fair walk! There must be a closer one somewhere. It was very good anyway. I always like breakfast there. And it only costs $5! I had some hot tea to help my throat (it hasn't faired well after last night so I was a little worried I couldn't sing tonight) and plenty of food! I don't think I needed to eat until after the show! So then we decided to see if we could walk back to Chatham, but there is no pavement and I decided we didn't want to get arrested for jaywalking. So we walked all the way back to Vista. I think I got a bit sunburnt! Luckily my t-shirt for tonight is the same shape as the one I was wearing, and the red lights won't make it stand out! Haha. Anyway, we then jumped on the A bus to go to Evil Property Control. To be honest it wasn't a particularly good day because there wasn't much there, but you should have seen the look on Jo's face when she realised that her purchases came to $4! To say she was gobsmacked is an understatement. It was quite funny actually LOL. I bought a t-shirt, a HSM3 dance game for the laptop, and an American Idol Karaoke book complete with CD's! Bargin. We then went next door to Cast Connection and I got some deep red fabric to make Belle's Christmas dress. In fact, I need to get on with my other costumes...Halloween is nearly here!
We then hopped back on the bus and came home. We chatted for a bit and then Jo went home to building 28 and I started getting ready for the show! Once again I did my hair and make up and got dressed at Cast Services. I then jumped on the Cast East bus (it doesn't go to the UK until it returns to Cast Services and becomes the Cast West bus but it saves my hair from frizzing) and eventually got to World Showplace! We hung around for a bit before going onstage to have a warm up and go over a few things, and then a few of us headed to the UK for food. I didn't get anything at the end, but I went to hang out at the podium for bit to annoy them lol.
Then is was show time again! When I got onstage I could actually sing. It was really strange. Maybe it was the adrenalin going through me. Last night they said there was about 800 people in the audience and tonight there was going to be more. How exciting! This show was even better. We added an encore to the end (well Encore can hardly not have one can it?) and once again it was just so much fun! Kev and Robyn came to see it tonight and I'm very pleased with their reaction! They kindly filmed some of it for me and EEEEEEEEEEEE I love doing this! I can't believe tomorrow night is going to be the last night. It's been a great run and I'm very disappointed that I won't be able to do it next year. If only I had come in May! Oh well, Candlelight next. So I met up with them after the show and we walked back to get the bus. Tomorrow I must take lots of pictures before and after the show. I've just been stealing everyone elses! I'll put all of them up once everything is over. I also need a picture with Clay because he is such an amazing conductor (he's also the artistic director).
So when we got back we went straight to McD's. I had the usual and also got a cinamon melt for breakfast tomorrow. Robyn and I were going to DHS but we decided that a bed day was needed. I also need to blog some more.
Anyway, bed time now. Night night xx
23.7.2009: SHOW TIME!
I can't believe show time is already here! I didn't get out of bed until 12.30pm today. I was that tired. I then got Michelle and Lee to go to the outlets with me for lunch before they went to Epcot. They were going to come see me! So we had food at the American place and then I went to Claire's to get some green eyeshadow and glitter to complete my make up! I then came home and started getting ready for the show. I did my make up and hair but took my clothes with me where I got changed at Cast Services. We then hopped on the bus (it was easy to see who was doing Encore!) round to the UK. Our call time was 6pm so at this point we all had to be onstage ready to go over a couple of things. At this time people were already lining up to get in! Good job they closed the curtains in time! Haha. Then we went backstage to wait for the show to start. Clay gave us one final talk and we sung 'How Blessed We Are' to warm up, and then it was time to get to our places! We all lined up in the back of World Showplace (where they keep all the food boxes lol) and when we were given the cue, started to file on to the stage! The audience looked amazing! I can't believe how packed it was.
The show went amazingly anyway! It was so much fun and have an actual audience made it even better! I had lots of glitter on that went everywhere. I'm not sure I can pick a favourite bit of the show. I wish it could be first night forever! Anyway, at the end we got a standing ovation and then filed offstage. I then met with Michelle to walk back to the bus and we came home so I could get changed. We then went to McD's to meet Kev, his friend (I don't remember her name and neither does Robyn!), Robyn and Dan because I was starving.
So now I'm home and on such a high but very tired. Tomorrow I'm going to Ponderosa with Jo and then I'm going to introduce her to Evil Property Control!
Bedtime now! Night xx
18.7.2009: Magic Kingdom and Wishes!
Pretty much all this morning I lazed around. I did some washing and then waited for the newbies to get back from Traditions so we could go to MK! Vicky has never been to Disney before so it was so exciting watching her run around like she'd had an injection of pixie dust! We had our picture taken in front of the castle and then went off to do some attractions. We rode Mansion and Thunder and we had dinner at Cosmic Rays watching Sunny Eclipse. Then it was time to see Wishes!
So now we're home and I have another day off tomorrow, but I do have rehearsals at World Showplace. The show is so near now! I can't believe it's all nearly over. Plus everyone around me is ill so I better not catch anything!
Night night xx
17.7.2009: Another Random Day
Today was another day off! I didn't get up until about 11.30am and then decided I needed to go get food at the outlets. I grabbed Michelle and we went to eat (I had Taco Bell!) and then I dragged her around a few shops while I was looking for a white top and green accessories for ENCORE. Didn't find anything though, so when I got back I went to Wallyworld with Jo and Cherie. We spent almost two hours there and I still didn't get a white top. I saw one in Papaya though so I'll go back to the outlets tomorrow. I did however get all the food Robyn and I needed for our Mexican feast we had tonight. I then came home and waited for everyone to get off work, and started cooking. Robyn had gotten Peter Pan out of the learning centre, and even though we played it twice tonight, I still didn't really watch it. Oh well. We were too busy looking up Fireman Sam on youtube. So Michelle and Jo came round, and the later Lee popped over from Patterson and we headed to the meet and greet for the newbies. I'm now one of Jo's parents along with Jess. I didn't go to the beach party afterwards, and right now it's stupid o'clock and we're about to go to bed.
Night night xx
14.7.2009: Harry Potter!
Today has probably been on of the best I've had since I've been here. It started off with Robyn and I leaving for Epcot at 9.08am. We wanted to get there as close to opening as possible, but actually ended up getting into the main entrance at about 10am. Now like the amazing Cast Members we are we picked up all the maps and times guides that were left on the floor at the place where they keep the maps. We officially rock! We then headed to Guest Relations to pick up birthday buttons for the three of us (Kev was going to join us later). We decided that seeing as we wouldn't all be here to celebrate all of our birthdays we'd celebrate them all on one day! Genius idea if I do say so myself. We then headed to get a drink from Club Cool and then went over to the Land to get Fastpasses for Soarin'. We also rode it there and then! I do love that attraction. We were going to eat breakfast at Fountain View but they didn't open until 11am, so we ate at Sunshine Seasons instead. I had strawberry shortcake and Robyn had a chocolate croisant. YUM! We then decided that as Living with the Land only had a 10 minute queue, we were going to do that. Mainly because I wanted to find all the Hidden Mickeys in it. And I did! Go me.
So after that we were going to do the Circle of Life but the next show wasn't for another 15 minutes so we scraped that idea and headed over to the Seas instead. The line for The Seas with Nemo and Friends was pretty long (as in I haven't queued the entire way since 2006 when it first opened) but it moved pretty fast and before we knew it we were out and Robyn was headed to the restrooms. While I waited I tried to spot the Hidden Mickey in the acquarium but either they've removed it or I'm blind. Probably the latter. We skipped Turtle Talk with Crush and went over to do Spaceship Earth. Afterwards we hung around in Project Tomorrow doing all the fun little games until we heard from Kev. Then we headed over to Odessy near Babycare to wait for him to arrive. He took a while having been distracted by Company D and buying up everything they had. Hehe.
From there we went straight to Le Cellier! We didn't have reservations but it's very handy when you have roommates who are Canalien! Of course for starter I had Chedder Cheese Soup, and then for entree I had the Maple barbeque-grilled chicken sandwich with fries. It was so good! For desert I had the Chocolate 'Moose' and I also had a Magical Star to drink! It was good! I was very much stuffed. Robyn and I couldn't eat all our entree so we got to-go boxes much to Kev's disqust. Ah well, that'll be lunch for tomorrow! Robyn and I went back to cast services while Kev met Dan and Alice in Canada so we could put our leftovers in our lockers. We then decided to be lazy and got the lazy bus back round to Canada. From there we did O'Canada (and got evil looks from a guy in front of us because we joined in singing when the song came on). Dan and Alice had fastpasses for Test Track, so the three of us went to do Soarin'. We got talking to a Canadian family in line who were on their last day of vacation, and they were so lovely that afterwards we gave them a couple of re-ads for Mission Space/Maelstrom/Living with the Land. Of course they were going to use them for Living with the Land We then met Kristin and I want to say Rebecca but I'm not sure and headed to Ellen's Energy Adventure! Woo! I didn't get squirted by a dino! Fun times. Robyn then didn't feel too good so she headed home, while the rest of us went to World Showcase. Kristin and Rebecca went to eat in the R&C and the rest of us went to do Kim's saving the world game. This timw we saved the UK and Mexico! During the Mexico one I tried to call Jo because Rachel had texted me saying she was in distress, but I couldn't get through! Argh. So after Kim's game we rode the Grand Fiesta Tour, and then headed to get Tangerine Cocktails from Morocco. They were so good, but there was so much alcohol in them! We sat down to watch a bit of the Billy Joel Tribute Band, but then quickly left when some guy had a go because we were talking. Weirdo. Of course we stayed to watch Illuminations, and then we went our seperate ways. I headed to get the bus to Port Orleans so I could go to DTD. I met Robyn there and not long after Michelle and Emma arrived at the AMC theatre. We all managed to get seats in the same theatre and they were really good ones. Of course, we were there to see Harry Potter. I'm going to be so tired tomorrow but oh well, I'm only doing a six hour shift due to rehearsals.
So I'm not going to spoil it for anyone, but I thought the film was really good, if a little sad at the end. Ours was delayed because they had trouble setting the projector up, but right now it's 3.45am and I'm off to bed! Night night xx
11.7.2009: Banister, banister ROPE!
For most of the day I was just lazy. I sat on the sofa with Robyn and we watched films and I uploaded photos and did some sewing and all my ironing. Fun stuff. So I've just got back from MK with Chris, Kim, Kev and Rich who we picked up on the way out of the park. We ate in Fantasyland and rode Mansion and Jungle, watched a bit of Spectro and had an ice cream cookie sandwich from Sleep Hollow. Kim and Chris had a funnel cake and then had a cinamon sugar fight. We also watched Wishes and then went to ride Thunder where we shouted at Dan a million times before he heard us and Chris fell over. Funny stuff! I also saw Jack who used to work at the Jungle! It was really good to see him.
So I have work tomorrow. I'm not at all happy and I kinda wish some of the ICP's would just go and things could get back to normal instead of getting my hopes up all the time. It's not until you're on seperate programs that you realise the divide between them. This year is definitely not shaping up to be as amazing as 2006.
Night.
10.7.2009: Stuck X3
So even though it was another one of my days off today, I had to get up early because Kirsty, Amy and I were going to Universal. We also met Chris, Liam and another guy who's name I can't remember (I'm not going to lie!) at the Commons so we could all get the I-Ride together. The journey didn't take that long and once we got to Universal we went our own seperate ways; the boys to Islands and us girls to Universal. It looked like it was going to be packed so we started by going to E.T first. I do love that ride. At the part where you have to give your name, we said Mildred, Ethel and Edna and the woman typing the names in said she didn't believe any of us! She asked me 'since when has that been your name' and I'm sure I gave a convincing 'since birth' but she didn't believe me. She, in all honesty, was quite rude and how did she know whether or not I was saying it in honour of someone? Oh well, I don't expect anything more from Universal. Which is why I only go for the attractions. So after E.T we had a little play in the ball area of the Curious George play area...it was good fun! Then followed the Simpsons ride, where we got stuck on it because they had technical difficulties. We only saw half of it so they put us on the other side to ride again. So really we got to do it twice hehe. It's a good job we rode it when we did because the queue was quite long when we came out.
Then it was time for Men in Black. That also stopped halfway through for about five minutes, but seeing as it didn't really affect the experience and we got to score more points, we weren't too bothered. Then it was on to Jaws! The fire on it was so hot I thought my contacts would melt, and we got quite wet in the back row. Afterwards we headed over to do Fear Factor Live. I've never done this before so it was actually quite interesting to see. The stunts weren't anything majorly exciting, but it was fun to watch the contestants. There was a Canadian and a French guy, who I am sure are probably roommates working for Disney because they seemed to know each other. LOL. The only gross thing was when four audience members had to drink a horrible combination of shellfish, sour milk, meat and bugs. EW!
Then it was time for food. We ate at Mel's Diner and I used my Universal dollars we had gotten on our trip in the first week of being here. So really the meal cost me 10 cents! Bargin! I think they've extended their seating area as well because it seemed a lot bigger than normal. Or maybe I just haven't noticed before. We then went to do the Horror Make Up Show. I've never seen this before either, but it was so so so so funny. It's definitely a must see! When we came out it had decided to chuck it down with rain. Out came the ponchos and we went to go see the Beetlejuice Revue. They opened it early so we could go shelter, but then the show got cancelled because the stage kept getting wet. If only the wind hadn't picked up! So we went outside again to go to Disaster, but that was closed, so we rushed down to The Revenge of the Mummy. We were soaked by this point and the wait time said 30 minutes but we pretty much walked on. So it was all going well until all of a sudden the ride stopped just before the actual rollercoaster bit starts. We waited in complete darkness and finally it started up again, but it kind of ruined the whole ride. We asked if we could go again but they said no. So as the line was so short we went to queue again, but whilst in line they made an announcement (which kept being repeated like every 10 seconds) that they were having technical difficulties and there would be a slight delay. Well after 15 minutes we got bored and decided to go do Shrek 4D instead. Then it was time to go even though it stopped raining. Amy did a bit of shopping and we went over to the Hard Rock Cafe for an appetizer and desert. It was very good! I think I also created panic when I said the Hard Rock Cafe in London was closed, but it turns out its not and I think it's just moved. Or I was thinking of another restaurant. Oh well! Outside we all did a survey and got a pin for doing it. Whoop!
So we got the I-Ride home and I got back about an hour and a half ago. I was going to go to DTD to get a Harry Potter ticket, but I've decided to do it online instead, and hopefully they'll accept my debit card. Robyn and I are going to watch Phantom of the Opera. I'm so glad I don't have to get up early tomorrow! I'm going to have an in day, although I do need to go to the Premium Outlets to get a white top for my ENCORE outfit. I have the skirt and shoes but no plain white top. I also need coloured accessories! So I am going to bid you all farewell to a wonderful day, and I shall see you all tomorrow! Night night xx
9.7.2009: Just getting on with life...
That's pretty much what I'm doing. Just finding people to hang out
with when I'm free, and if certain people don't want to then I don't
care anymore. We all have problems thank you very much.
Anyway.
Today I got up at silly o'clock to go to Kingdom Kutters. The woman
didn't think she'd have time to do my eyebrows and hair, but seeing as
I was only have it trimmed she managed to fit me in. And it only cost
me $20 total. My hair feels so short now though.
So afterwards
I went to Evil PC and picked up a few bits and bobs, and then came home
for a bit. Kirsty and I then went to Epcot where we rode Spaceship
Earth (in English for once) and then we did Honey, I Shrunk the
Audience which I haven't done in years. It was pretty good actually!
We then walked around World Showcase and met Belle. We also watched
the World Showcase Players in Italy. They were so funny! It was nice
to see a different story being told as well. We then continured around
to France where Kirsty bought a creme brulee and I got a raspberry
turnover. OMG it was amazing. We also had fish and chips in the UK
whilst waiting for the UK World Showcase Players to come out, but it
started to rain so I guess they cancelled the last show. Oh well, it's
not like I don't see it everyday. We then headed over to Mouse Gear
where I bought a ring I've been wanting for ages, and Kirsty bought a plush Belle. Then it was back over to Innoventions where we did Don't Waste It, and then I had to leave for rehearsals.
They were actually really good! We were supposed to be off book so I tried to do a lot of stuff without music, but some of the songs I didn't know at all so the score was needed! We also had a taste of the soloists tonight and they are really good! Not all of them were there, but at least we got to hear what some songs would sound like.
So Robyn cooked tonight so we've just eaten and we're watching Contact on TV. I'm off to Universal with Kirsty and Chris tomorrow so I'm glad there are other people to hang out with. On Saturday I think I may have a lazy day. Whoop!
So I'm off now as it's gone 12am and I should sleep. Night night xx
3.7.2009: FIREWORKS!
This morning Tori and I got up early so we could go to MK. Now seeing as it's July 4th weekend we wanted to get into the park early before it closed due to being full. We needn't have worried though because the place was almost empty. Either people were staying away or they were all in another park. Epcot was empty as well. Michelle text me from work to tell me so. So we did so much today that I forget which order we did it in but I shall tell you all what we did! We did the Laugh Floor and Stitch's Great Escape (Tori has never done it before), as well as the Carousel of Progress (which had a FP line for some odd reason) and Buzz. We also rode Peter Pan's Flight where Tori booed Wendy all the way round, Cinderella's Carousel, Mansion, Hall of Presidents and the Jungle Cruise. We also saw Celebrate a Dream Come True and Dream Along with Mickey. Tori dragged me to see Peter and Wendy, we ate at Columbia Harbour House and then finally we got in the longest queue for the day, which was for the Disney Fairies. We saw Tinkerbell, Silvermist and Fawn. They were great fun and it was well worth the wait just to be shrunk down and see the room!
Then it was time to get in place for the fireworks. We met with Kev and a whole bunch of people that I don't know. I was quite easy to spot with my July 4th ears on that I got today. Tori bought Peter Pans hat hehe. Anyway, the fireworks were amazing! The last time I saw them was from backstage by the Jungle on my break in 2006. They were well worth being squished to see. Afterwards was a little hectic though. We decided to go backstage because there was no way we'd make it out the front. Looks like the rest of the CM's had the same idea! When we got to West Clock it was manic. We waited for two buses to go because we are nice and wanted to let the people who had been working go home, and then we decided to call a taxi. It was so much easier, although as we were waiting a third bus turned up. Luckily it had gone to the TTC first and was so packed no one else would fit on.
The taxi dropped us off at the Commons and we went straight to McD's where we met with Robyn, Ali, Sam, Ed and Michelle. The usual crowd then.
Anyway, it's not that late but tomorrow is the big day when I have to deal with stupid amounts of guests! So I need my rest. Night night xx
29.6.2009: Princess Day!
Yes, today Robyn and I decided to go to MK as Belle and Aurora, complete with crowns and everything. We are so cool. We went to guest relations to get our Happily Ever After buttons and then proceeded up to Mickey's Toontown to see the princesses! It had started to rain so we walked kinda fast. The line wasn't that long and we got to see Cinderella, Belle and Aurora who were all very lovely. From there we rode carousel (side saddle of course). We were then going to go to Big Thunder Mountain to get FastPasses, but then Kev text to say he would be on his way soon, so we stopped off to do the shiny new Hall of Presidents. I did nearly fall asleep (not so much from the actual show though...I'm exhausted today) but overall it was very good and I'm highly impressed with the Obama animatronic.
After HOP we went to watch the parade on Main Street. I haven't seen Celebrate a Dream Come True yet so I'm glad they rolled it out early because it starting to rain. It was highly enjoyable. We then went to see Belle tell her story in the Enchanted Garden which was lovely, and then we waited on the bridge for Kev to get there. Dream Along with Mickey was next on the agenda, but it was cancelled due to weather. We then thought it was time for food so we went to Pinochios Village Haus. I had chicken nuggets...yum yum. While we were there we sat in the section where you can see ISAW, right next to the window. Two cast members came along with signs that they use to get the people in the boats to do stuff like saying Mickey or Donald or doing the chicken dance. They were so much fun and got the kids involved that we decided they deserved GSF cards. In fact, we got to give them to them! It's so nice and magical momenty when you've made their day. They were just about to leave as well!
Aww.
It was off to Epcot then where we met Chris and I had just enough time to ride SSE before I had to leave to go to rehearsals. They were awesome tonight and my voice held out so all was well. We got through a lot but I still need to make another rehearsal this week and speak to a manager about the dress rehearsals and stuff. And I need to start learning the songs off by heart! Some of them I know but there are others I need to work on.
Right, bedtime. Work again tomorrow! Night night xx
28.6.2009: Magical Moments Galore!
Today has just been one whole bundle of fun! So this morning I had to wake up stupidly early to go to rehearsals at DAK costuming. I was quite glad there were other people on the bus going, because they are doing construction work on one of the rehearsal rooms there and there was an email about going the other way round. I didn't know there was another way round! Anyway, we went through the normal way and kinda through the construction I think, but there were no signs stopping us and everyone else apparently did it as well! There were about 10 of us for rehearsals so it was quite nice to actually hear myself sing the parts! We got quite a lot done as well so I'm glad I went.
After rehearsals I got a lift home so I was back way before 2.15pm which is when Kirsty and I were getting the bus to DHS. So I had lunch and Heather called me to ask what I was doing today, and so I arranged to meet her at the bus stop as well. I had texted Leom to say we were going and he was coming to join us after work, and Nick was also going to meet us there. Whoop! It's been a long time since I haven't hung out with someone who isn't Kev or Robyn LOL. So we get to DHS and over to Guest Relations to cancel some reservations for tomorrow and outside we meet Nick. We decided to stop and watch the Block Party Bash (I've never seen the whole thing, just the shortened rainy day version. It was quite fun actually, but stupidly hot. Heather grabbed a drink and then we headed up over to GMR when Kev was standing outside greeting (or whatever odd name they have for that position there) so he got bumped around to do a show. They stuck us in the front row which, although awesome because I've never seen it from there, was a little awkward for videoing. Nevermind though, plenty more time for proper picture taking. Once again, a wonderful presentation of the movies, despite the slight hiccup with the vehicle stopping in the wrong place and audio issues, but meh, if we hadn't been on it so many times we would never have noticed lol.
We then decided to do the Backlot Tour. As we were walking in one of the Cast Members pulled us aside and asked if we'd like to help them out. Now having done this before I knew what he was asking, but still it was awesome that he just picked us out. It probably helped that there were four of us lol. So we got to do the stunt show. Nick was the mechanic (mwhahahaha), Heather the captain, and Kirsty and I were the wacky and wild deckhands. Oh yes we were. As we were walking out to the stunt area someone shouted 'Heather!' from the viewing area, and it turns out a few new Canadians and Daz from the UK were standing there watching! So random LOL. Also, the guy who was briefing us for the stunt goes to ENCORE and I recognised him. I also found out he was a CP when we saw him on the E bus on the way home. Small world much? Afterwards we met the others at the front of the tram and then went our seperate ways.
So once out of the Backlot Tour we went to the Art of Disney Animation. We didn't actually do the show but Heather wanted to go see Doug from UP and so we headed in the back way to see characters. Now what we didn't know (and a guest kindly filled us in on) is that for two hours before the first Fantasmic they bring out extra characters there. And not ones you'd expect either. We got in line for the UP characters (where Heather bounced up and down with giddiness lol) and as we were finishing with them I saw the Evil Queen walk past. Now it was my turn to be giddy! We stood in line for her and she autographed my book! I didn't know she did that! She didn't at Halloween in 2006 anyway. Score! We also saw Mary Poppins and Mr Penquin, Goofy and Max, Friar Tuck, Prince John, Chip and Dale and Stitch! So it was really worth it! There are some awesome pictures as well. All the characters loved my plaits lol.
So at some point during the day we did Tower three times and R'n'R three times. As usual the line for Tower wasn't long so we queued each time, but I think we pretty much walked on all af them. The first time we went to R'n'R I saw Canadian Nick at greeter, and he gave us rider switches Thanks Nick! I was only coming to say hi and didn't expect that! When we came back later we queued because the line was short, and as we were getting off the ride a Cast Member gave us five more FastPasses to ride again! It's pretty much been our lucky day today.
During this time we ended up at the hat with ice cream waiting for Leom to come (he did come on R'n'R with us so I'm not sure when it happened, but rest assured it did!)
We also went to do Toy Story Mania! We weren't going to begin with because the wait was 70 minutes, but then a guest came up to us and explained that he had nine FastPasses he couldn't use so would we like them? Silly question really lol. We used five for ourselves and then found a family to give the other four to. It was such a nice magical moment! The family we chose had just told their kids that they didn't have time to wait because they had reservations, so us helping them out had totally made their day! It also turns out that the mother had been on the college program in the 80's! Small world again haha.
After the fun of the day we went to watch the 10.30pm showing of Fantasmic. This is only the second time I've seen it since I've been here because I can't get there normally and it doesn't show on the days I can get there. We had pretty good seats too and it was barely crowded!
We then got the bus home, saying goodbye to Nick who had driven, and now I've just finished cleaning the bathroom. We have inspection on Wednesday so it needs tidying and I can't imagine the other roommates will do anything.
So that's about it. I have one more day off tomorrow and then it's back to work. EEK! Night night xx
27.6.2009: Dressmaking!
Today was my lazy day. Seeing as I have been very busy the past couple of days, and I know the next two are going to be manic, I thought it was time for some relaxation! By that I mean that I didn't wake up until 12pm (Kev will be so proud!) and I spent the day either in my room or watching TV! I did get started on my Belle costume though. The skirt pannels are all cut out and it's just a case of sewing them together now. It's modelled on the UK F&B skirt so that's how I'm getting the pattern and measurements. The top will be a bit harder to make, but I'll get there.
I also got to watch the Princess Protection Program tonight! I didn't realise it was the premier weekend so it's a good job I tuned into the Disney Channel. It's not the best film ever but it whiled away the hours. So when Kev got back from work we went to DTD for some food. I do so love Earl of Sandwich, but seeing as I had already eaten I just had their breadpudding. YUM!
So that's about it. Oh apart from the guy on the bus with the annoying voice who was talking sooooo loud. Tres annoying, especially when you're trying to sleep lol.
Bedtime methinks. I'm off to DHS with Kirsty tomorrow after rehearsals so that'll be much fun! Especially because it includes stalking Kev. Mwhahahahahahahaha.
Night night xx
26.6.2009: Bloggity Bloggity Blog
Today has been odd. Full of lots of random stuff. I woke up at 9am as usual and sat around lounging for a while. Our internet went funny so I wasn't able to contact Tori about going to Evil PC, so after lunch I went anyway. To be honest there wasn't much there although I did get some more ribbons which will come in handy. That's it though!
So I came back and decided not to go to DHS because I'm too lazy, and stalking on ones own is creepy so instead I tidied up a bit and started listening to the Harry Potter audio books and kinda dozed off. Before I knew it Robyn was home and we were off to DTD with Heather to see UP. OMG it's the cutest film ever (and the Pixar short before it was so lovely!) and yes, I cried twice. It's sad in some parts. We had dinner at Cookes of Dublin and then after the film we went to get free chocolate, went to Basin to wash our hands and also went to Guest Relations so I could get my photos printed. I then left to come back to hang out with Gina, who I couldn't get hold of, so I ended up going to McD's with Kev and Dan. No surprise there.
So here I am. There were two alpha units outside the clubhouse, so no idea what went on there. Bed time methinks though. And I shall end up waking up early tomorrow and seeing as I am the only morning person in this place, I shall hang out with myself! I'm thinking of starting my costume in the morning, and maybe going to DHS to draw characters all afternoon. Sounds like a plan, Stan!
Night night xx
25.6.2009: Shopping and Stalking and Singing...Oh My!
Today started off with me spending a lot of my paycheck. EEK! I did buy a lot at walmart though and so I should be sorted for the next few weeks lol. Michelle came too and we had great fun losing each other around the small country that resides down the road from Vista.
So when we got back I had to borrow a trolley from security to get back to the apartment with all my bags, and then I had lunch. Pizza yum. Michelle and I decided we were going to meet up with Leom, Rosie and Megan at the Studios, and it turns out Dan was going to so we all got the bus from the Commons. I had printed out all my music beforehand and was going to go from the Studios to Port Orleans, so it was all good.
The first thing we did when we got there was to meet the others outside GMR and then asked to show request Kev! And it was perfect timing because he was being bumped just as we got there, so we were allowed straight on. So he didn't suck at all as a tour guide, in fact I was greatly entertained and thought he did a superb job. I'm so proud LOL!
So after GMR I met Kev for his break and we headed to Take 5 so I could stock up on more cherry coke. Yum! Then it was back to meet the others as they got off TSM and then we went to Tower! We hardly queued at all even though the sign said 30 minutes. I really do love Tower, almost as much as I love the TTA.
So after Tower I decided it was time to go get the bus to Port Orleans. On the bus I got chatting to a couple of families about working for Disney. They originally wanted to know if I was in entertainment (no idea why) but we had a good chat about housing and the ususal stuff people ask. Once off the bus I went and had chocolate cake from the food court, and then headed out the back of Riverside and over to rehearsals. Tonight was very good because the songs were quite simple and my voice held up which is always good.
So I've just got back from having pizza with Kev and Dan (Winer that is, not Dan Peever who I went to DHS with....too many Dan's for my liking!) and I guess it's time for bed. I have nice clean sheets and tomorrow I'm doing more washing. I'm also off to Evil PC with Tori but she hasn't facebooked me yet so I don't know what time we're going. Then Robyn and I are off to see UP in 3D when she finishes work. Whoopee!
Night night xx
20..6.2009: Fun, fun FUN!
Ooooh today I slept in. Til nearly 12pm! That never happens.
So when everyone had finally woken up, Chris, Rich, Kev and I jumped on the J bus to DAK! When we got there we had our pictures taken in front of the tree and stuff, and then it was food time. I've never been to Pizzafari so that was an experience. Not bad either. We went to see Festival of the Lion King, which I haven't seen since I've been here so it was wonderful to see it again. We were lions. Afterwards we rode Expedition Everest (though not before Rich had to get ice cream). I do love that attraction. We were going to ride it again single rider but it went 101 and we couldn't be bothered to wait because we didn't know how long it would be. So then it was off the the studios! We went and rode ToT and saw Louise looking very snazz in her awesome costume. I want it! Chris really wanted to do Voyage of the Little Mermaid so we went to do that. Kev and I were not very impressed when we got soaked with spray. Hmph. Afterwards Chris decided to wait at the Studios for Kim to finish work, and Kev and I headed to MK. We go there just as Spectro was on, so we sat on the railings up by Exposition Hall and watched it from there. I really miss PAC. And now Main Street has taken over all areas of PAC so even Rich doesn't get to do it now. Rudeness. Then we went into Expo Hall to watch some cartoons, because I was rather emotional for now apparent reason. Ah well, it happens. At some point tonight we had dinner at Cosmic Rays, but I can't remember when that happened.
We did go to Jungle and ride Rich's boat again. He's getting very good and I really enjoy the cruises!
So Kev and I decided that instead of braving the A bus, we'd take the monorail to Epcot and go backstage from there. I think next time we'll brave the A bus because the security guard at Epcot was so rude! I've never seen anything like it. We've never had a problem going backstage to get the bus home before. American Coach tell us to do it because it's less crowded at that time of night! Anyway, no GSF card for her anytime soon. It made Kev a little mad which was slightly scary lol. We did eventually get backstage and flagged down the Cast West bus to take us to Cast Services. At least the bus driver was nice. We then waited ages for a C bus to come, but it did eventually.
So now I'm back home and tomorrow is work again so I'm going to sleep. Night xx
19.6.2009: How much hotter can it get?
I really must be melting.
Today I started off in MK and decided I was going just to take pictures. Well it didn't quite work out that way because it was so hot, so I did take some pictures on the Treehouse but then decided I needed some AC, so went to ride Haunted Mansion. It probably is the fastest thing you can get on. I then headed over to Tomorrowland to do the Laugh Floor Comedy Club. Never fails to entertain me that one.
So then I got a bit bored of MK and headed over to the TTC to go to DHS! I only did Tower and the Great Movie Ride (Kev was checking out today so I didn't want to ride his show, but wanted the air conditioning anyway! I saw him but he didn't see me...mwhahahahaha). Then it was time to head home and have a shower and get changed. I hung around a bit before going off to MK to meet with Kev and Chris. It was weird because we all ended up at bag check at the same time. We do totally rock squirt! So of course we rode Mansion again and then we met up with Kim and some more people I didn't know but now do and we rode Splash! Kim and Chris got soaked with the tidal wave at the bottom, but the rest of us were relatively dry! Hehe. It was EMH tonight until 3am and we stayed pretty much until 2.30am doing nothing but talking. We also stood and watched Mickey and Minnie ride on Dumbo with a couple of kids. So cute!
So Kim very kindly gave us a lift back to Patterson, where I walked home to clear my head.
And here I am! Getting ready for bed. Another day off tomorrow and we're going to DAK! Night x
18.6.2009: Eeeeeeeevil PC
So yeah, today I went to Evil PC. And spent $60. I'm not sure what exactly I bought, but I did get two hoodies and lots of ribbons with Princesses on and stuff. They're the old pieces to the build a wand thing you used to be able to do in 2006. They didn't have the wand pieces anymore so they're selling off all the bits to it. Score!
So I came home and didn't really do anything until rehearsals. I was going to go to MK but while I was at home waiting it started to throw it down. Really throw it down. It got so windy and I was looking outside at the clouds because they were going so fast. So I decided it wasn't worth getting wet to go out!
Rehearsals were awesome as usual. Everyone on the D bus was going to them so it was quite a nice trip! We all got a lift on the way back (the car was very cramped, lets just put it that way!) so no waiting for the bus! Good times. So now I'm back home and I'm thinking it's bedtime.
Night! x
13.6.2009: I'm so bored...
...I could cry. Honestly. Today I've done nothing. And our internet isn't working, but luckily the wireless works most of the time so that will do for now. So today I wandered up to the front desk to get some info about the internet. I haven't called the number they gave me yet. Must remember to do that. So I've pretty much spent the day in front of the TV watching the Disney Channel and films and really wanting just to talk to someone in personm! Anyone! Ah well. I'll get plenty of that tomorrow. Ooh one of the roommates has just walked in. It's Jessica.
I sewed some more gold sequins onto my HSM skirt and that's about it. Did some singing.
See how exciting my day has been? Very. I'm watching Hitch at the moment, but I think I may go to bed and read. Yeah, it's 7.20pm and I'm off to bed. Meh, I'll be well rested for tomorrow and hopefully the next few days will pass quickly.
Night night everyone xx
12.6.2009: Saving the world and conducting fireworks!
Well today has definitely been an interesting day. I
set my alarm for 9am, and it went off but I went back to sleep so woke up again
at 9.30am. So not too bad. I got ready and then headed out to get
the J bus to DAK, meeting Chris when he got on the bus at Chatham. The
bus turned up late, but better late than never I guess. So when we
got there we went to do Dinosaur. The picture is so funny because
everyone else is petrified and I'm reading a book. I totally rock.
So speaking of rocking, we then went to see Finding Nemo: The Musical.Absolutely love this show, and as usual it
was awesome! After the show we went to
meet Callum at the front of the park, and then headed over to Restaurantosaurus
for lunch.I had chicken nuggets. Then it was on to Primeval Whirl which
definitely was not a 30 minute wait, and then the boys had a go on one of the
arcade games because they’re mad like that.We then headed over to Expedition Everest and hardly waited at all, and
as usual it was so much fun!
Afterwards I decided it was too hot (and they wanted to
watch the parade) so I came home and met Kev as he was getting off the bus from
Hollywood Studios. He had to go to the
programs office to get stuff signed so he could go home, and then we headed
back to mine so I could get changed. Then it was off to Epcot to save the world! And we saved it four times!I’m very impressed with us.We saw Ana in Italy and she was manning the
wheelchair and VIP viewing area, so she told us to come back at about 8.45pm so
we could watch Illuminations from the VIP area.Sweet! And that’s exactly what we
did.It was nice to see (and conduct)
Illuminations as a guest for once.Except the woman standing next to us was very vocal about her wonder of
the fireworks. And she was filming them
so when she shows the video to friends and family, all they will get is her
‘wow’ing’ everything.
So we finally got on the bus to come home and then I get a
phone call once I’m back in the apartment from Kev because he is freaking out
that he’s lost his purple form.Which
was sitting on my dining room table. So
I waited outside the Commons to give that back, and then chatted to Michelle a
bit below her balcony about crumpets and viking ships.
So here I am right now, having to blog on Word because the
internet is being stupid for some reason.I’ve no idea why and I’ve tried everything to get it to work, but I
think it may be the Commons internet and nothing to do with my laptop. We shall see tomorrow.Apparently the LAN is unidentifiable and so
it won’t connect. No idea what that
means but the wireless sucks so that’s not use either.Anyway, I’m going to watch Disaster Movie
now.I have another day off tomorrow and
Robyn and Kev won’t be here so I think I’ll laze around and do washing and stuff.Night night xx
11.6.2009: So....
I didn't really do much today. I woke up very late and didn't get out of bed until noon so I was very well rested. I did eventually get up and arranged to meet Michelle after her banking meeting so we could go to Publix and Walgreens. Jess came along too and so we went to McD's first because I was hungry. I couldn't eat it all though. Guess my appetite has gone down again. So I bought some more credit seeing as mine seems to be going down really fast lately (too busy texting everyone, that's what it is) and some more throat coat in case I run out. We also went to Walgreens and I got some shoe polish, batteries and a tiny screwdriver to tighten my glasses with. It's very snazz and did the trick.
So afterwards I came back to the apartment, put some washing on and waited around to go to rehearsals. I then got the bus from Chatham with James, and before we knew it we were in rehearsals. Even though I had to miss yesterdays I still got caught up on what I'd missed. I sat with Christa again and she filled me in.
Then it was all over and I came back! I really must go to bed because it is very late and Chris and I are off to DAK tomorrow to find Nemo and climb mountains and chase dino's. Fun times. Night night xx
5.6.2009: More Star Wars, Wishes and Singing!
Today was my last day off before I go back to work tomorrow! So it started off with Robyn and I getting up early so we could experience Star Wars Weekends at DHS. We called in on Sam to see if she wanted to go, but she was still asleep so we just left. Once we got there we went to see what time we could get the Disney characters autographs, but they weren't going to come out again until 12.30pm, and we were going to have to leave before then. Oh well. We decided to watch the parade and I got some good photos, and we also went and saw Muppets before we watched the parade. We also met Ed on the bus so we hung out with him as well. Then it was time to go back to the Commons so Robyn could get changed for work, and we could get out of the sun! It's been so hot today. So when we got back I got ready to go to MK with Kev and Rich (and the rest of the planet it feels like). We took the bus from Chatham and made it to the TTC, but then it started to chuck it down with rain, so we sat and waited there for a while until it stopped.
Then it was time for some MK! The parade was just about to start, but they did the Rainy Day Cavalcade because of the weather. Which I don't mind because I love the music! Afterwards we headed to Peco's Bills to get food. Starving! Following food we did Mansion, Pirates and got FP's for Jungle, then went over to Tomorrowland to do the Laugh Floor, then back to Jungle to get on that. I wasn't so impressed with the skipper...plus it should have been me!
We met up with a couple of Rich's friends and did Carousel of Progress and It's a Small World and Mickey's Phillarmagic and Snow White's Scary Adventures. I'm really annoyed the TTA isn't open, but I suppose I'll have to live.
So tonight it was Wishes! All the ICP's where there and of course I cried as usual. Kev and I got to sing our song (finally because three years is a long time!) and then it was time to head home to bed. But it wasn't that simple. We got the boat to the TTC to catch the A bus, thinking that as it was EMH tonight then West Clock wouldn't be crowded so we could safely get the bus without fearing for our lives. But the 11.10 didn't show up, and the queue was getting stupidly crowded, so a small group of us decided to take the monorail to Epcot and go backstage to get the C bus. No idea if we got back before the others, but I got off at the Commons because I'm not lucky enough to live in a shiny new apartment. But then I am first off hehe! 23 months, need I say more?
So I am just about to go to bed. I have my laptop back and it's all new and shiny and works really well. Thanks Rowan!
Really bed time now. Night night xx
29.5.2009: Star Wars!
So this morning I was going to stay in all day and not do anything, but then I decided to go to DHS again. I was going to meet up with Vijay (who I did text when I got there but never got a reply) and Cale came with me. It was quite a fun day! We got to see a shortened version of the Block Party Bash (it was on the verge of raining and had already been delayed due to some rain spitting on us) and it was quite awesome! We then were going to do the American Idol Experience, but decided to wait until the 7pm show, which is the finale. So we headed over to Toy Story Mania and really didn't wait that long at all. It said 80 minutes but it definitely wasn't. Then it was over to the GMR before having some curry at the ABC Commissary, and then it was time to stand in line for the finale of the American Idol Experience. It was very good, worth waiting an hour for!
So then we came home, and here I am, alone in the apartment, talking to Kev and blogging. I'm thinking of loading all my pictures onto photobucket and some more on facebook now so it'll give me something to do. Tomorrow I really am lazing around all day. Night! x
28.5.2009: Not Long Now!
So Kev and that ICP lot arrive soon. All on different days but whatever. More people to play with!
So today was my first day off. I haven't really done anything. I went to evil PC and got a good haul. I was going to go to DTD because I wanted to get a folder for choir and a Minnie backpack because it's small, but I managed to get them both at evil PC! Score! I spent a grand total of $30 (I bought a brooch in Cast Connection that says Wicked and has a witches hat hanging from it....I love it) and got quite a lot of stuff. I got an awesome T-shirt that was from the Pirate and Princess parties and I've only just noticed what was wrong with it. The shiny purple stuff has come off the outline of the pirate ship and pirate, but it makes it look even more piratey if you ask me.
As for the rest of the day...I went to Publix for some cinamon and raison bread, some rolls and fruit (watermelon) and then I came back. I was going to go to the Villians Mix and Mingle but had no one to go with, so when Robyn got back from work, we went to DHS with Sam. It started to rain when we got there, and only had time to do Star Tours and Toy Story Mania, but it was a fun time.
Tomorrow I have nothing planned, but I might go to DHS again. For some reason it's the only park that interests me lately. Maybe it's because I've been everywhere else so much.
Anyway, I'm about to finish my book and start another one. Night night xx
22.5.2009: So Long, Farewell.
This morning we went to check Mum in at DTD. Then we came back to the Poly to leave a tip in the room and went to have breakfast. We then went to Epcot to buy the eyecatchers before the Flower and Garden Festival finishes and then it was off to MK. Everything was fine until it rained. We got in line for Jungle and they did an announcement about maybe closing but we managed to get on anyway. And got soaked. So after that we went on Pirates and Mansion, and then headed to our priority seating at the Liberty Tree Tavern. I had the Pilgrim's Feast which was so good! But I couldn't eat it all. I still had desert though. YUM! I didn't finish that either but I got it to go.
So finally we went back to the Poly to pick up the car, and then took the rest of my stuff back to the Commons. I said bye to Mum and waved her off and then went back to my apartment! Later, Robyn, Sam and I went to MK and were a little bit crazy. I think we scared Sam a bit! At the end we had to get the monorail to Epcot to get the C bus. On the way to MK the bus driver had warned us that the A bus gets really full on the way home. I think this was for the benefit of all the new CP's on the bus. They were all excited about doing Space, only for me to tell them it was closed! Oh dear. On the way to get the monorail I had a call from Ona! Madness! I haven't heard from her in years! So we've arranged to hang out tomorrow after I've finished work. Woo!
Night night xx
21.5.2009: Polynesian Concierge!
So we packed up all our stuff in the car and then walked to DTD to do some more shopping. Then it was time to check in at the Polynesian! The security guard was very nice and we had a quick chat about the R&C. Random, but nice. We drove straight up to the entrance where they took our luggage and put it onto a pargo. Mum went to park the car and then they took us on the pargo to our building. It's right next to the main building where everything is and it requires a room key to enter! Snazz! We have concierge and a club lounge where you can grab snacks and drinks. The room is so nice and has jacuzzi bath which I shall use sometime because I've paid for it lol.
After checking in we went to DAK where we ate at Flame Tree Barbeque, rode Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl and I did Expedition Everest. We also watched Finding Nemo: The Musical. Yay! We then came back to the Poly and went swimming. We also sat on the beach for a bit, even though it got a bit cold because it was overcast. Then it was time to take my stuff back to the Commons as we wouldn't have much time tomorrow. We had dinner at the Poly and we had the most amazing grilled cheese ever. The club lounge in the Hawaiian building was next, where we watched Wishes. It was a shame no music was pumped in though.
So we're now back and I'm off to bed! Night night xx
19.5.2009: V&A's...Happy Birthday Mum!
That's Victoria and Alberts to those not in the know.
So this morning we woke up and Mum opened her presents and cards. I bought her a Tinkerbell Bird Bath from the Flower and Garden Festival because they are really nice! We decided today to go to DHS but it rained. All day. Like, threw it down. It's not fair, the rain shouldn't be starting this early. It's not August yet. We got in the queue for Toy Story Mania, but after about 10 minutes it went down. Boo. So we went on the GMR, saw Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage and finally went back on TSM. The line said 80 mins but there was no way it was that long. By this time we were soaked so we came back to SS and watched TV.
So then it was time to get ready for V&A's because you can't just wear any old thing. I wore my silver dress from Jane Norman that I got for my birthday. I love it. It was still raining when we left, so it was umbrellas all round. Turns out the GF guest parking lot isn't actually in GF...it's out the back and across the road. I suppose everyone is supposed to use valet parking. We probably could have got it free as well because they asked us at V&A's if we had used valet. Anyway, so we checked in at nthe podium, the host took our umbrellas, and we got shown to our table. We weren't in the dome which is nice because apparently it echos so much you can hear what everyone else is saying. We were just off to the side. We both had personalised menus, and Mum's said Happy Birthday hehe. We had seven courses! That's a lot of food. I mean, the portions were tiny but I couldn't eat all my pudding! Which is a shame because it was chocolate and lovely.
The table next to us didn't eat much...but at the end their server brought out a plate and said that the chef brought it out for them because they missed a course, and he lifted up the thing and on the plate was Will You Marry Me? with a rose on it. It was so romantic and the woman burst into tears. Not so romantic lol.
Anyway, our server was John and he was very good! The service was well worth the money we spent. I also got discount so I'm very pleased about that. We got given roses and took pictures of all the food and had our pictures taken on the stairs. All in all it was a loverly night.
So now we're back at SS and I have to work tomorrow. Night night xx
16.5.2009: Sunken Treasure
Today was another day of shopping! Mum and I ventured up to the Prime Outlets to see what offerings they had. I got some jeans and flip flops from Guess (the flip flops I've been wanting for ages but was too stingy to fork out for them, and then they were in the sale..whoop!). I love my new jeans. I only bought one pair with me so it's nice to have some new ones. And they have jewels on them! We also visited Character Connection and got some Halloween candy bags and light up Halloween Mickeys for Mickey's Not So Scary this year.
So on the way back we stopped at Denny's for lunch as it was much better than the offerings at the Prime Outlets. Once back at Saratoga we were going to get cocktails, and on the way down the power went out! We still managed to get cocktails though everyone had to use cash. The CM serving us was telling another guest that it was probably just by the pool and a couple of surrounding buidlings, but we informed them that the power had gone out in our building which was furthest away. Then came the sound of the fire engines lol. Oh well. I had a Sunken Treasure cocktail. It was very nice!
So once the power was back on we watched a bit of TV in our room. We went to DTD to see what time 17 Again was showing, but it was too late so we went to eat at Cookes of Dublin. YUM!
So now we're back and it's bedtime. Night Night xx
15.5.2009: EVAC!
So today we did a whole lot of nothing really. This morning we went in the pool and the hot tub, because it seemed pretty pointless coming to a resort and not using the facilities! It was rather cold, but mainly because it was so hot today!
So after we went in the pool, we headed over to Epcot and did Spaceship Earth. I do love that attraction. Robyn was going to meet us at Coral Reef where we had priority seating, so we headed over there as well. The food was very nice! I had catfish and it was amazing, followed by a gorgeous butterscotch creme brulee. Shame the service wasn't as good though. You notice these things when you work in a restaurant where the service is great.
So after lunch we went to do Ellen's Energy Adventure because Robyn has never done it before. It was very good (with no squirting dino's) up until the point after the dinosaurs where you go into the room with the radio signal thingy. The next video started but we couldn't see anything. Turns out the curtain didn't go up and the sound wasn't working, so they turned all the lights on and we got evac'd out. Nothing very exciting but it's a story to tell anyway.
So obviously being in Epcot, we had to go visit that little place called Innoventions. Don't Waste It and Where's the Fire were on the plans, and once again we won on Where's the Fire. We're just too good methinks.
So at this point Robyn had to go to work, so Mum and I walked around World Showcase, before going back to Saratoga Springs. We got some drinks and decided to walk to DTD. From our room is was about a five minute walk! We got strawberry ice cream at Ghiradelli's and Mum bought me a crown from the World of Disney. One of those big pink ones. Hehe. Then we walked back and right now we are watching a film called Millions. It's quite good actually!
Right I'm off. Night night xx
14.5.2009: Shopping, Ice Cream and Rain
So as I was off today we decided to go to the Florida Mall. Robyn was off as well, so we stopped at the Commons to pick her up, and then headed off to shop! The main thing I needed was some shoes for work, and some more foundation. Well I managed to get both, and bought a little black dress as well! It's so nice. Robyn and I tried loads of ballgowns on in JC Penny's and Macys. There was a lovely ivory one but it was very expensive!
We went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch, and then went to Michaels to have a look around. I love looking in craft shops. We also headed over to Coldstones Creamery for some ice cream! I love that place. When we got back we were going to go swimming, but it was raining so instead we went down the 192 and went to Denny's! I didn't quite eat it all but I got a to-go box and that'll be lunch for tomorrow!
So after dropping Robyn off we came back to our room and started to watch Sex and the City. But now it's quite late and we're going to bed. Night! xx
9.5.2009: Four Parks, One World, One Day
This morning Robyn and I woke up stupidly early. But that's ok, because we had reservations at 7.45am at Boma! Whoop. The plan was to spend the day with Ali and Heather in Animal Kingdom, and Lindsay, Rebecca and Dave would be joining us for breakfast. Breakfast was soooooo good. I was absolutely stuffed by the time we left. Probably not good for running around DAK all day.
So we headed to DAK for opening (luckily Dave and Ali both have cars to no busses for bus!) Lindsay, Rebecca and Dave were just heading to DAK for the start of their four park challenge, so for that bit we decided to follow them. We headed to Dinosaur first where the picture was so funny, and then did Expedition Everest and Kilomanjaro Safaris. So after that we were going to stay in the park while the others headed out, but we decided that it would be fun to tag along and do the challenge with them. Dave had brought his video camera with him, but when he got it out it had no battery left! You should have seen him, he was so devestated lol.
So to explain, the four park challenge requires you to visit each of the parks, using as many forms of transport. Once at the parks you have to ride at least one major attraction, and then two others of your choice. So we'd done DAK and now it was off to Epcot by car, so we could take the monorail to MK. So once we parked at Epcot, we took a parking tram to the front of the park, and then hopped on the monorail. At MK we did Pirates (where I had to hide the Dole Whips Robyn and I had bought because we hadn't finished them) and then we legged it over to Mansion. We were going to do Jungle but the queue was too long. Last but not least we did Splash, and although it went down once we stayed in line and were soon on our way. To pass the time, Heather and Robyn practised spieling their menu's. So from Splash we took the train to the front of the park (mode of transport number four). From there we left the park and took the ferry to the TTC, where we got the Disney bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We managed four attractions here and they were pretty major ones too! Tower of Terror was first (after getting FP's for RnR) and we spelt out Canada in the back room. I was the moose ears, being an honorary Canadian and all. Then we went back over to the GMR and did that, followed by going back to RnR and then back over to Toy Story Mania. Yay! Love that ride. We bumped into some more Canadian's outside Mickey's Hat which means there's practically no one on podium at Canada today. LOL. At some point we also ate pizza, but I don't remember when. Might have been after RnR.
Then it was time to take a friendship boat from DHS to Epcot. The other four had reservations at the Rose and Crown for 8pm, so using my connections I let them know we wanted to make it an 8, preferably with fireworks viewing, but we were willing to split of course. It was still early, so we went to ride Journey into Your Imagination with Figment, and then went to Test Track. We didn't have to wait too long, but in the briefing room they had left the doors open to let people walk straight through. So that's what we did, but one guy waiting decided to didn't want to wait anymore and cut in front of Robyn and me. So we ducked under the chain to catch up with the others, and he tried to get us thrown out! Luckily the CM he was talking to told him that there was no issue because he had seperated us from the rest of our party. I love CM's haha.
After Test Track we raced over to SSE because we thought it closed at 7.30pm (when it doesn't close until 9 ) and got our third attraction in, before heading back the the R&C. We checked in, and got firework seating! Yay! I had fish and chips, and then sticky toffee pudding because I've been wanting it for ages!
So now we are home. After doing four parks with seven modes of transport, I'm rather tired. I think I may ache loads tomorrow. I've still not got an email from ENCORE so maybe tomorrow.
Right I'm off to bed now, night night xx
8.5.2009: Bored
I think the most exciting thing I did today was go to Publix to buy some Throat Coat. It's this tea that helps your throat to stay healthy, and actually it does work! So it's annoying that now my voice is back and the callback was yesterday. Not a happy bunny.
So really all I've done today is laze around waiting for my voice to come back. Exciting stuff.
Tune in again tomorrow folks. Night night xx
7.5.2009: Why me?
Well today hasn't been the best day ever. Basically because I've lost my voice and the callback definitely could have gone better. They were very understanding, but I can't help but think it's ruined my chances of getting a solo part. Oh well, that's life I guess. So that;s all I've really done today; lazing around hoping my voice will get better and then going to the callback and now I'm home. I have two more days off and tomorrow I reckon I'll just be lazing around again, but Saturday at DAK will be a fun day! Ah well I'm going to go get some more rest.
Night night xx
2.5.2009: Lazy days...
So today I pretty much did nothing. This morning I sat on msn and spoke to people, and then just after lunch I went to Publix and Walgreens and McD's and still forgot to get more credit. Duh. This afternoon I've been rehearsing my callback songs and they sound ok, but need a bit more work. I just need to be able to get to the callbacks now. I was going to go to work and get my costumes and see if anyone could take my shift, but I can't be bothered to go today so I'll do that tomorrow when I'm a work. Just means I need to go early to get changed.
Right now Robyn is back and Heather is here and we've just made brownies that are a little hard but still edible!
Right, I'm going to bed now. Night.
1.5.2009: ENCORE!
Today has been a very exciting day! This morning I went to buy Mum's annual pass at the Company at West Clock. So of course I went over to Evil PC to see if they had anything decent...and they did! I got Robyn a Belle money box and jewelery box so now our room looks pretty awesome. We've also put up curtains over the window so it looks very homely and princessy now.
So then I hung around at the apartment until it was time to go to the auditions for ENCORE! I had curled my hair and looked pretty awesome if I do say so myself, but when I got there it was already busy! They said they were two hours behind, but the auditions started at 7pm and I got there at 7.15pm so that's confusing. Anyway I didn't get to audition until 8.30pm but when I did it was amazing! There were five people in the room, and I sung accapella but for once my voice didn't shake and I hit all the right notes! So there they were shaking there heads (I could see them out of the corner of my eye) and then they asked if I could attend a callback! So of course I said yes, and then went outside to get the music I needed. The only trouble is that I work an assigning shift on Thursday and the audition is at 6.20pm. I'm going to see if I can switch the shift, or at least try to get an ER, but I will be at that callback and I don't care what it takes. I had to turn ENCORE down in 2006 and I'm not doing it again, especially when I have a chance at singing solo.
So right now I'm going to go read. Night night xx
25.4.2009: What a day!
It's been a bit jam packed today! This morning I got up and decided to go to Walmart because I needed to get batteries and a couple of other things. On the way there I decided that I would go to Mickey's Retreat in the afternoon, so got some snacks to take with me. Oh, I did go to buy New Moon and Eclipse, but Walmart didn't have them. So I then decided that after Walmart I would get the F Bus to DTD from Vista to check out Virgin Megastores again. Well I had no luck there either. However I did buy the first Septimus Heap book (which I've read before, but it is so good!) and then made my way back to the Commons. So now New Moon has been ordered through amazon along with the other Septimus Heap books so at long last I'll have a whole bunch of books to read. Eclipse doesn't come out in paperback until August so I shall just have to wait for that one!
So at about 3pm I headed over to Mickey's Retreat. The pool I wanted to use was closed, so I had to use the smaller pool which was full of kids, but it was nice to get into the water for once! I couldn't really do laps though. So then I went and read on a sunlounger for about half an hour, before returning to the Commons and having a shower. Fun fun fun. Robyn had texted me earlier in the day saying she and Heather were going to go to a park after work if I wanted to join. Well it just so happens I was going to go to MK anyway and then Ed was online and said that him and Sam were thinking of going there, so in the end five of us went to MK. Ed is one of the newbies from the UK, doing F&B and Sam is a new Canadian F&B.
We had our picture taken in front of the castle, and then went to ride Splash Mountain. We waited a while but it kept going down so we decided to miss it. We did have fastpasses for Thunder Mountain though so we could come back and do that later. Next it was a ride on Pirates so Heather could get her Johnny Depp fix, and then we ate at Columbia Harbour House for dinner. And everyone had chicken nuggets and chips. Great minds think a like, no? Then it was back to Thunder Mountain, where we sat in the front and learned that it's definitely not advisable to squish three big kids into one row.
And last but not least (before Wishes anyway) we did the Mansion. I sat with Robyn and pointed out all the secrets. Hehe.
Then it was time for Wishes! Yay!!!
After Wishes we did the Laugh Floor Comedy Club, which was hilarious, and then we had just enough time to run over to Peter Pans Flight before the park closed at 11pm. Robyn has never done it before so we decided to do it when the line was short!
And then it was time to come home. It has been a brilliant day though. But back to work tomorrow! So it's bedtime. Night night xx
24.4.2009: No luck at all today...
Well the day certainly didn't start out well. Robyn and I got up early to go see Disney Earth at the AMC in DTD. Well we were supposed to. When we got there the box office said it didn't open until 10.30am. But the website said the film started at 10am. See the problem? It also said that the 10am showing was sold out. What it failed to tell us (and the other CM's standing waiting to go in) that the 10am viewing was only for the schools that were going to see it! Rudeness. So that really didn't put me in a very good mood at all. So we headed over to the Marketplace and looked around the World of Disney for a bit, before going back to Virgin Megastores so I could buy New Moon and Eclipse to read. Ah well, disappointment again. They had both in stock but no one could find them. So Amazon it is! But in the mean time I have nothing to read. Grr. However, I did manage to get hold of Troop Beverly Hills! I adore that movie. Mum will roll her eyes though. So then it was off to Cookes of Dublin for lunch and then it was time to get the bus back to the Commons and we hung around in the computer room for a bit. Then Robyn had to go to work and so I walked to Chatham to get the A bus to West Clock. Property Control was rubbish. They didn't have anything and they had every colour fabric but the ones I wanted. Oh well, so I came home, walked around the Premium Outlets and found nothing, and then came home and have been sitting in front of the laptop all afternoon.
So right now we're watching Troop Beverly Hills and I love it. Teehee.
I might go swimming tomorrow over at Mickey's Retreat or something. Not sure right now. And have a long lie in. Right I'm off. Night xx
18.4.2009: One Day More
My last day off today! Well, not forever obviously but just for this week. This morning I had a nice long lie in. A very long lie in. Until 10am. Haha, I know that's not long for some people but it is for me! I got up and got ready, and then started to clean some of the apartment. I was going to vacuum but totally forgot. I did clean out one of the cupboards though. Really they all need cleaning out.
So after talking to people online for a bit I went to meet Robyn and Chris at MK. I managed to pick up Nicole on the bus, who was playing on her own. It was quite nice because it meant there were four of us. We did a lot of things! Nicole and I watched the end of Dream Along with Mickey, and then we met the other two at Splash Mountain, where we got Fastpasses. Then it was over to the Haunted Mansion, followed by It's a Small World and Snow White's Scary Adventures (where in line a little girl told me I looked like Sleeping Beauty. Haha!) On the way I got a Hot fudge brownie sundae (the girl tried to charge me twice...eek!) and it was so yummy. I couldn't eat it all though so Robyn had the rest hehe. We then went back over to Splash Mountain, and got Fastpasses for Thunder Mountain. Robyn wanted to sit in the back on Splash because apparently you get less wet. Well that didn't turn out as planned mwhahahahaha. Nicole and I just got dripped on. Then it was time to take the train over to Toontown so Robyn and Chris could do Space Mountain as they had gotten Fastpasses earlier in the day. Nicole went to return some DVD's and I waited outside. They weren't that long, so we walked back over to Frontierland to do Thunder Mountain, grabbing Fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise on our way. The cruise was ok; I wasn't that keen on the skipper. He told some funny jokes but the execution of them wasn't great. I've seen some funnier ones.
After the Jungle it was my turn to go home and start cooking dinner. So I took the monorail back to the TTC and then got the A bus from there, requesting, like I normally do, for it to stop at the Commons. This was about 8pm. I would have left sooner but Robyn and Chris were staying for the fireworks so dinner would have been ready too early. I did have to go to Publix though. Anyway, so we leave Chatham and I expect the bus to turn left to go to the Commons. No such luck. Is it so hard to remember that the Commons is a request stop? I only asked twice! So then I had to sit at Vista until the J Bus came along (because only the J and F buses go from Vista to the Commons) and I was not happy. Soooo not happy. Publix closes at 10pm and it was getting closer and closer to that time!
So eventually I had all my veg, the chicken was on and the potatoes were cooking and I was just waiting. Dinner was very yummy if I do say so myself! But now I really have to go to bed. It's kind of late and even though I don't have to get up early tomorrow, I still like my sleep!
So night night xx
17.4.2009: Toy Story Mania!
I got up at 6am today. Eek. I got ready and strolled over to the Commons Clubhouse where two other girls were waiting. But the programs office wasn't open so we were getting a little worried that we had the wrong day or time or something. But eventually they did open up and we left at 7.30am. DHS was opening an hour early today because of Grad Nite and therefore the parks shut early. Normally the tour wouldn't be so rushed but the park opening early was such a sudden decision that no one could help it! The scariest part was this giant wall of guests almost running towards the attraction (though of course they're not allowed to run) so we quickly dashed inside so our guide could tell us a bit about the queue line. I'm not going to release any secret information on here; you'll either have to talk to me or do the tour yourselves! Mwhahahahahaha
So after the tour I decided to go to PC. They're having some kind of sale on which suits me fine! I bought TinkerBell's costume! It's a little short but that's ok because I can seperate the skirt from the bodice and make my own bodice so it fits. It'll all be fine! I also got some blue fabric for Belle's costume! It was $6 for 6 yards! So much fabric I won't know what to do with it, but it's the right colour and everything.
I went to Walmart too and spent like, $60. I did get a lot though and tomorrow I'm going to cook a roast! Yum. I did try to get a pattern for Belle's dress, and they do the one I want but they were out of stock. Boo. I also bought Twilight to read, and Pans Labyrinth to watch. It's just finished and it's such a sad film. All in Spanish as well, which was weird.
So now I'm going to bed. I'm going to meet up with Chris and Robyn tomorrow at MK, but I'm going to come home early to cook dinner.
Night night xx
11.4.2009: If only I wasn't a cast member...
Today was our Disney's Hollywood Studios extravaganza! We were supposed to get the 8.20am bus, but Robyn overslept hehe. So we decided to get the 8.50am bus, but it never turned up! Poor Chris (Robyn's boyfriend!) must have been waiting at the main entrance for ages! We did eventually get there though. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. However, we went to Toy Story Midway Mania first to get fastpasses, and they return time was already between 4.20 and 5.20pm! By 11am I imagine they were pretty much all gone.
So then we headed back to the Tower of Terror and decided to stand in line. The wait said 60 minutes but we must have only waited about 40 minutes. Not bad, considering one side of the Tower went down as well, so only half the ride was working. I'm sure Robyn was a little more than terrified lol. But it was fun!
Whilst they were getting a drink, I got us fastpasses for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. We then went to see Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. Belle was really good, as was Gaston, but the Prince could have been cuter. LOL.
We did a lot of the attractions today, including GMR; Light's, Motor's, Action; the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and the American Idol Experience! That was great! I saw Chelsea from the Jungle (she works there now, obviously). Anyway, the show is great! In fact, I got told I should audition for it, but sadly, as a CM I'm not allowed Oh well, ENCORE is better anyway, even though I'm not sure the show will be as good as the musical ones they usually do. It's about Legends of the 60's/70's and I'll have to google them to know. So I have no idea what to sing. I may have to email the ENCORE people and ask!
Anyway, back to today. We had brought a packed lunch but decided to eat dinner at one of the many restaurants. We managed to get Priority Seating at Hollywood and Vine. It's an american cuisine buffet and it was very good, but very filling! And about $30 each so not too bad considering! The salmon was lovely, as was the garlic and parmesan mashed potato. YUM! I also looked out for the assignor! Haha. She made me want to go to work so much. Strange huh?
Oh, I bought an Evil Queen t-shirt today! I've wanted it for ages and decided that with my nice paycheck this week I could treat myself. I also bought an awesome chocolate chip cookie. Half of which I shall eat tomorrow because it's enormous!
For a nice finale to the night we went to see Fantasmic. By the time we got there it was standing room only, but it was still awesome and reminded me why I chose to work here (apart from the fact that Mum won't let me come home because she wants to go on holiday ) and totally perked me up.
After Fantasmic, Chris and Robyn chose to stay in the park, but I was so tired so I caught the bus home. And now I'm off to bed. And it's only 10pm. And it's cold in here so it's hot water bottle time. And I ate too much at dinner lol.
Night xx
10.4.2009: Good Friday!
Which started out really, really good. I had a nice long lie in. Well actually I didn't, I woke up at 9am and got up and got ready and then hung around for ages before I decided to go see if my package had arrived, and use the computers. Well my package hasn't arrived yet, but I did spend ages talking to people back home on msn, and then decided to get the bus to Epcot. My dvd's had to go back and I've finished my books so I had to take them back too. I then got something from the Flower and Garden show for Mum, and then took the bus to Port Orleans so I could go to DTD to meet up with Robyn and Chris. They'd been there since the morning, so they met me while I was eating my Earl of Sandwich. Except I had two bites of the sandwich and was full up. I also got some bread pudding, which I ate when I got back and it was very yummy! I then decided to come back and do some singing. A LOT of singing. And I've been fine for the past few hours.
So it's been addressed to me that some of the stuff I've written on here isn't going down too well at work. I'm really, really sorry if I've offended or insulted anyone in anyway. I don't have a problem with anyone and I don't hold grudges. It's just I do rage and because I blog at the end of the day it happens to end up on here. I shall just find another outlet for my raging. A solid wall seems to be the preferred choice at the moment!
However, I really am homesick right now. I've never wanted to go home so much in all my life. It's just I don't feel like I can please anyone, and I don't feel like there's anyone I can talk who knows what I'm feeling. I know that it's all because it's the two month stage and I'll be fine in a couple of days, but I just don't feel like I'm any good at assigning and I'm forever annoying people or letting them down. So I've pretty much been in tears for the past hour and a half. Poor Kev, bless him, has been trying to help me out and cheer me up, and it's pretty much worked (except I need a hug dammit!) and I don't want to go home as much anymore. I didn't really want to go home anyway, I just wanted to be anywhere but here.
Ah well, it's DHS and Fantasmic tomorrow! Definitely something I'm looking forward too. And hopefully on Sunday I'll feel a lot better. It seems money doesn't make all the difference (although my paycheck this week was very nice!)
So I'm thinking I'm going to watch either National Treasure of Swiss Family Robinson and maybe give Robyn her laptop back!
Night night xx
4.4.2009: Mickey's Spring Fling!
This morning Robyn and I got up to go to Mickey's Spring Fling at Mickey's Retreat! I had no idea what to expect, but it was quite busy when we got there! To do the activities you had to buy tickets. Well then cost 25 cents each so we were hardly going to go bankrupt! We did the Easter Egg "hunt", which wasn't really a hunt. You were just given baskets (which we got to keep!) and had to find six stalls which told you about stuff like recycling and the environment, and get your bit if paper signed. When you had all six boxes signed, you had to give it in to the DJ to maybe win a DVD. Well Robyn's name got picked out (just as she was about to get her face painted...$2!) but when she got there apparently they were looking for the other woman who was standing there. Robyn said she wouldn't have minded was the other Robyn a child, but the woman was older than her! Oh well, it was only Jungle Book 2. Hardly worth fighting over lol.
We also got out picture taken with Mickey and Minnie in their safari gear. They liked our face paint and our tiara's!
So after we had foosd (which I still need to pay Robyn back for!) Robyn had to go to work and I decided to go to Evil PC. Facepaint and easter basket and all. I spent so much! But there was so much good stuff! I'm very pleased with my purchases. They had Mickey big figs there, but I'd never get one home so there's no point lol. Now if they had the Evil Queen one, I'd definitely get it!
After Evil PC I took a trip to Wallyworld where I spent a lot less money. The end. Ooh but I did get some Dunkin Donuts. Yum
So right now I've just been singing, and I'm blogging. Back to work tomorrow, so I'm off! Night xx
3.4.2009: Mmmmm proper food.
It was the Tower of Terror Tour this morning!!! I'm always in fear of missing my alarm, but it's so loud and echos so much I don't think I will be able to! It was pouring with rain and there was thunder and lightning. Tori managed to get on the tour which was awesome! Lauran, Nic and Andy were also going, as well as some of the girls from the Haunted Mansion tour. It was mucho fun! The rain came down harder when we had to get into the minibus, then once we were all in it let off again. Typical. The tour was amazing! Once again, I'm not going to say anything (although I gave a detailed account to Kev because he's a bully like that) but there was so much I didn't know! We got to actually go into the lobby, whilst the guests wondered what we were doing, and got to ride with the lights on! It was brilliant!
So after we got back to the Commons, Robyn and I decided not to go to DAK afterall, and she went to Starbucks with Cale, and I went to Best of British with Tori, Kevin, Dave and Stephie to have some proper British food! It was a pretty weird place (and it's where everyone goes on a Monday night after Lads and Lasses, even though I don't go) but I had sausage, chips and beans. Not quite what I'm used to, but pretty damn close! Yum!
After that we headed to the Florida Mall (but I didn't have my foundation on me so I couldn't match it up at the Clinique counter in Macy's) and the boys went off on their own whilst us girls did some proper girly trying on of dresses in JCPenny's. They didn't have any nice red ones I liked, but there was an amazing ivory one. I so would have bought it, as it was in the sale, but there wasn't one in my size and the one I tried on was too big. Oh well, saving my money I guess. I didn't actually buy anything, but we did bump into James, Joe and Emma in the food court! Random.
So we then came back, and I lounged around a bit before going to the Premium Outlets. I was going to have a nice wander round but it turns out there was a big food event going on and it was crazy busy, so I just visited Character Connection. The only thing I bought was a Mary Poppins musical poster! $7 and it's awesome!
Today Anita moved out having finished her program, and gave Lorena her CDp player, so while she was out I borrowed it because you can attach my iPod to it, so I was singing lots of Wicked with my awesome backing tracks.
Now I'm currently stealing Robyn's laptop, watching Ever After and contemplating bed because we're doing Mickey's Spring Fling tomorrow. Yay! That's about it for today, so cheerio maties. x
28.3.2009: Laptop Woes
I'm doing this blog now because the computer room won't be open later and so I won't be able to blog as my laptop is being silly. It's missing a file and so won't load up, but I left the setup CD at home so I have to wait for that to be sent. Happy days.
Well not a lot has happened today. Lorena didn't come in until 9am (and apparently Elodie didn't either) and yet I'm still supposed to be quiet. Seriously, I'm going insane. So Robyn and I went to Walmart. I got some new glasses! They're made by Wrangler Jeans and are pretty much the same style as my current glasses, just black and the arms are thinner. And all for just under $200. So I'm sorted for work. Also found out that I can buy my contacts there by the box if I ever run out. All I need is my contact prescription and it can all be sorted!
So we did some shopping and got lots of food. We then decided that Robyn and I would share a shelf in the fridge. There are three shelves and six of us so two per shelf makes sense right? So my stuff was already on the second shelf and it seemed like anyone just used the rest of it. So we moved the rest of the stuff on the second shelf (which Robyn was using anyway so a lot of it was hers!) to the top shelf. We put it all together nice and tidy. Because we're nice like that. We also cleared out a lot of space in the freezer to put our stupid amount of stuff in it. So that's ok because we also cleared some of Corinne's stuff that she left behind and no one claimed.
Then Lorena comes out and goes to the fridge and asks Robyn why she has moved stuff because apparetly she cleaned the fridge and all the stuff on the second shelf was hers. And that is was now all mixed up and she didn't know who's was who's. Well firstly, I was also sitting there so why just blame Robyn? Secondly, some of the stuff on the second shelf was Robyn's, so how could it all have been hers? Thirdly, some of Robyn's food was going missing, which is why we dedicated a shelf to ourselves. Plus the stuff we moved wasn't just shoved in higgledy piggledy because we put it in the same place on the top shelf. I know Lorena cleaned the two drawers at the bottom, but the other shelves are disgusting but she said she cleaned them too. I find that hard to believe. And she did not spend two hours like she said, because I was there the whole entire time she was doing it. Lorena then went to work and Elodie came out and had a go too because she also didn't know which food was hers. This is probably why Robyn's food goes missing because no one else seems to know what food was there's! Do they not take notice when they are buying stuff? A
Anyway, Robyn said she'd clean out the fridge properly on Monday so everyone had their own space. I did tell Lorena to put all her stuff in one place and we'd make room in the fridge for it, but oh well. Elodie started mumbling something in French, but I really don't care. Neither of them seem to know how to live with other people, even though Elodie has been here almost a year! It makes much more sense to have your own space in the fridge rather than throwing it all in randomly. Oh well, Elodie didn't seem too bad when I left to come here so all is good. I'm going to let Anita know what we did when she comes home, but she's not as highly strung as the others so probably won't mind or care.
So right now Kev is trying to persuade me to take part in Earth Hour. Basically it means turning all the lights off and saving energy for an hour. I've no idea when it starts, but I'm sure it's from like 8-9pm or something like that. Maybe he'll tell me, maybe not lol.
So for the rest of the day I don't really have much to do. I might read a bit, do some colouring, sew some more sequins onto my cheerleading kit, and basically just laze around.
Oh earth hour is at 8.30pm my time, so I can probably join in with that.
Right nothing left to say! I wish there were some people around to hang out with, but I don't seem to know anyone who is off! Ah well. I cope very well on my own lol.
Toodles! x
27.3.2009: Tours Galore!
This morning I woke up at 5.30am (aka stupid o'clock) to go see if I could get on the Haunted Mansion tour. And I did! Yay! I'd tell you all about it, but seeing as a lot of it is Disney secrets I shan't tell you in case you all decide to do it sometime. Because I haven't done it since the refurb some of the information as changed, so it was nice to see all the new stuff!
On the way back one of the program office guys told us that there was going to be a Toy Story Mania Tour and the sign up was today, so when we got back I went straight to the office to sign up. So I'm now signed up for that AND the Tower of Terror Tour. Lot's of stuff for me to do! Woo!
I then went to pick Robyn up from the apartment and headed over to Epcot and to the hair salon to have my eyebrows waxed. I won't be going back there that's for certain. Never trust a guy to do beauty stuff. Especially this one. He didn't so much botch it up, but I'm still going to have to do a lot myself! I'll stick with MK from now on. They're much better.
We then got the bus to the front of the park and took the monorail to MK, where we ate at Columbia Harbour House and rode pirates. We tried to find Alex (who was working pirates today) but we couldn't find him anywhere, so we left the park to go back to Epcot to meet Colin. Him and his friend Gem were about to leave but we bumped into them in Mouse Gear and had a good natter. They kindly gave us their FP's for Soarin' as they wouldn't be needing them, so we went over and did Soarin', While we were there we went and did Turtle Talk with Crush (tres drole!) and then headed to Innoventions to stalk Josh. And it worked because he was actually there and remembered us! He even stopped halfway through his spiel at Don't Waste It to say hi. We so totally rock. We had to go do Where's the Fire? as is tradition, and we won, again. We told one of the CM's before we played that we always win, and during one of the rooms he was standing behind us watching, and told us he realised why we always won! We even finished all the bonus rounds on one that is had to come up with a fact about fire because there was nothing else for us to do! Go us.
We then decided it was time to head over to Mexico for our priority seating at 5pm. We stopped in Norway to try and book princess dining for May, but there was a big queue to we didn't bother. The San Angel Inn was really good! The service was fast (if a little non guest contact'ish, but whatever) and I had bread pudding for desert and it was amazing! A very nice meal indeed.
After dinner we tried to make reservations at Norway again (having a very nice conversation with a girl dressed as Alice, and her Mum) before the podium girl told us to call Disney Dining because she was very busy with the queue. Oh well. I'll call them tomorrow.
On the way home we stopped off at the Disney Learning Centre and took Cinderella and Brother Bear out. There was a guy checking out a book about 10,000 Disney trivia facts and I so want it! There'a also a Disney Villians book I want. Shall have to see if I can check it out sometime.
So we came home and I've been skyping and chatting and watching Brother Bear all evening and really need to sleep. Walmart tomorrow! Have to go in the morning as well. Oh well, so long as I go I suppose.
Omg Lorena has just unplugged my laptop. So not in the mood for this. She is getting worse by the day. Argh! Robyn and I are going to put in a request for a 1 bedroom apartment soon. We don't want to move for another three or four months but it's best to put our names down soon.
I must go to bed before I crack. It's because I'm so tired and been acting like a therapist all night.
Night night xx
21.3.2009: Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
So this morning I woke up just before 8am so that I could phone up the programs office and try to get on the Tower of Terror Backstage Tour. So I did just that. Except when I got through to the programs office, the woman on the other end asked if I could send the email to her. Apparently they're not allowed to start filling places for it until the 27th, which is next Friday, but they don't get the email until Tuesday so she wanted to check if we had been told when the sign up date was. So now I have to wait until Friday. Gah, I was the third person to call as well. So I would have gotten in! Ah well.
So I then decided it was time to go to Epcot. Well actually I went with Robyn when she got the bus for work, because she wanted me to take a picture of her at work (and it's a very good picture if you ask me! It could be an advertisement for Le Cellier!) So when I got there I got the Cast East bus to the front of the park and went through the main entrance. It's a good job I wasn't doing any attractions because even the queues to get into the park were horrendous! I basically spent the entire day just taking pictures of flowers. I started at the front and then worked my way over to Canada (where I took pictures) and then all the way around World Showcase. I stopped to watch the World Showcase Players in the UK and looked at masks in Italy and just wandered! I had lunch at the Liberty Inn in the American Adventure (kids meal: cheeseburger, fries, cookie and a small drink for all $5...bargain!) and then went over to Pixie Hollow! It's this cool little garden that had glitter all over the floor to look like Pixie Dust, and all the fairies were made out of topiaries. And then I noticed they were setting up a table for something, and it turns out the producer and director of Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure were going to be signing autographs on posters for the movie. So I got in line! I waited like 10 minutes and then it was all over and tada! I then headed over to Wonders of Life where they had the Festival Centre and I got in a random line. I wasn't sure what it was for (not the toilets luckily) but when I sat down I found out we were going to learn about container gardens and were going to make our own little gardens in a tea cup! Score! Free stuff and it's cute. Except the tea cup doesn't have drainage holes in the bottom like they told us the containers should have. Tut tut.
Then after that I decided to come home. I spent a while chatting online and did my ironing, and then an hour ago I went to Walgreens to get some CD's and then to Publix to get some dinner. So right now my lasgna is in the oven and I have to put the veg on in a moment, and Robyn is sitting next to me stuffing her face with popcorn I made earlier, and we're watching The Holiday. It's all good. I also stopped off at the Disney Learning Centre and got out Hocus Pocus (which I have already watched whilst ironing) and Brother Bear, which I love but I'm not really in the mood for an animated film right now. Plus I like The Holiday so it's all good.
Not much else to say I guess. I put all the pictures on Photobucket and I'm going to sort them all out and take all of my last program ones off so people don't get confused. I keep trying to put them on my blog but now they're on there and all out of order and right now I can't be bothered to sort it out. Need to do my music though because there is so much on my iPod I don't want and so much on my laptop I do want. Argh. It's going to take forever. So many podcasts to catch up on as well.
Anyway, I'm going to wait for my dinner to cook and watch the film and just generally laze about again. I've got 9 hours of seating tomorrow so I don't really need sleep for that lol. Plus I can get up at 9am because I washed my hair today.
So anyway, night night xx
20.3.2009: Tren-D
I had so much planned for today! And hardly any of it happened lol. I didn't get up that early and was going to go to Epcot in the afternoon, but that never happened. But first I went to Publix to get some stuff....I got a laundry bag from there (knew I could count on Publix) to wash my tights in so they wouldn't keep getting damaged, and also a water noodle (a purple flower shaped one!) and a bunch of other stuff.
Then I came back and Kev happened to be online, so we skyped for ages, which is why I didn't go to Epcot. That and it was baking outside. I'm going to go tomorrow morning instead while it's still cool.
Instead Kev mentioned a new shop in Downtown Disney called Tren-D, and after looking at some pictures on WDWMagic I was very tempted to go. So I did! I waited until Robyn got back from work (it was a close call. She got off the C bus and te F bus was behind it! Nice timing!) and we trundled off to DTD. We ate at Cookes of Dublin (mmm battered sausages) and then headed quickly over to Tren-D because it was chilly last night. So there I was, thinking that because I had bought everything on my last program, I'd be quite rich on this one. How wrong was I? I want to buy pretty much everything at Tren-D. They have awesome Snow White bags and cute t-shirts and argh! I must restrain myself!
So we got back and I'm going to bed in a moment. Just wanted to mention that earlier I got the email from Disney Housing and they have a Tower fo Terror Backstage Tour coming up! The office is closed right now so I can't ask if there is any space, but as soon as the program office opens tomorrow, I'm going to call them! It's quite lucky that all these tours have happened on a Friday so far. I just hope I get on the Mansion one as well. Surely someone won't turn up?
Right it's bedtime, gotta be up early tomorrow! Night x
14.3.2009: Taking pictures is making memories!
Today was due to start out a boring day. Like, I was going to MK on my own. Well I woke up at 9am and got ready and stuff, and then had a facebook IM from Vijay who said he was going to DHS and MK. So I tagged along with him and his friend Amy. She's from the UK and works Main Street Ops and is pretty much awesome! At DHS we went to the Art of Disney Animation and drew Donald and Bolt! Which reminds me, Amy still has all of them. We also did RnR and Tower and Vijay screamed like a little girl on both. They were awesome! We were going to do Toy Story Mania but the line was stupidly long. Even the FP line was horrendous!
So then we headed over to MK. We took the Monorail from the TTC and first went for food at Cosmic Rays. I had a BBQ pork sandwich and believe me, they are not the most graceful things to eat. I must have looked like a cannibal. Anyway, we then went and did Phillarmagic (yay) and then went to the Ice Cream Parlour. I had a Mickey Mouse Kids Cone with cookies and cream ice cream. YUM. We also bumped into Megan and Kirsty who had come from Wilderness Lodge after sunbathing and were going to eat there later on. It's funny how you bump into the people you work with on your days off.
Then Amy had to go to work, so Vijay and I watched the Move It, Shake It street party. I saw Brendan from the Jungle! He is now in entertainment and is a stiltwalker in Festival of the Lion King, and Move It, Shake It, and is a dancer in Celebrate a Dream Come True. The look on his face when he saw me was priceless. It's so great to meet people again! Vijay and I also did Space and the TTA and Stitch, and we were going to the Carousel of Progress but it broke
So then we headed over to Jungle but the line was too long so we got FP's (oh for the days where I could just jump on a boat!) and headed back to the Fire House to wait for Spectro. I have some awesome pictures of the parade; actually some awesome pictures from all of today! I shall get them uploaded to here, facebook and photobucket sometime. Afterwards it was back to Jungle. The guy at Merge (John) does a blog that I watch and I follow him on Twitter. I told him this and he may have been slightly scared. Our skipper (Tara) was so funny! Her humour was so dry that Vijay and I were cracking up. Oh I also saw Stuart today outside the castle, who told me Ashley was working Jungle and we saw her...she was loading our boat!
We got the monorail back to the TTC and managed to get the A bus with like 30 seconds to spare. Then something really weird happened. So here I am bumping into people I know and freaking out vlog makers, when this guy opposite us asked me if I was Louisa! I was like...WHAT!?!?! Turns out it's Simon who works at the Contemporary and he recognised me from Facebook. Vijay also knew him and they had spoken on Facebook loads of times! I then started humming It's a Small World. It was thrilling.
So now I'm watching TV and contemplating going to bed. Work tomorrow, so I suppose I should. Night! x
13.3.2009: Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun
Friday the 13th! Haha not much happened to be honest. I slept in until about 10am, and woke up to find Lorena still hasn't come back. I've asked Elodie and apparently she's been staying with a friend...something about being ill and whatnot. I'm not really sure but she should be back tomorrow or Sunday. Hopefully in time for Robyn to move in here. Otherwise she's going to move into Elodie's room instead.
Anyway, so this morning I was online for a bit, then I went to evil PC and then to Walmart! How exciting! Then I came home and waited for Robyn to get back so we could go to the Prime Outlets with Mary. We took the I-Ride and it took a year to get there, and the last bus was going to leave at 10.30pm. But luckily we bumped into Heather and Charlotte in Forever 21 (where I bought an awesome skirt! I also got a pot of sparkly body gel from Victoria's Secret, it's awesome!) and as Charlotte has a car, she offered to give us a lift home!
So we had dinner there (sesame chicken and rice...I couldn't finish it all!) and then we came home. It was Colin and Sam's goodbye tonight so we went round and I got some DVD-R's and a bucket from the old Beach Club at PI. I want to collect a load of rubbish just so I can give it to people!
Anyway, it's probably time I went to bed, but I'm not tired. Another day off tomorrow and so I'm going to MK on my todd. Robyn was going to come, but she's really tired so I'm letting her sleep in haha.
Anyway, if anyone wants to join me tomorrow..feel free! Night night xx
8.3.2009: Fiesta!
Today I didn't wake up until 11am...yay! It was so nice to have a lie in for once. But eventually I had to get up because I was going to go drinking around the world with other UK people, however I either got the time or the place or both wrong, so I just went to Epcot on my own and had a fiesta margerita anyway. They ID'd me of course hehe. The fiesta one is four flavours: Lime, Mango, Strawberry and I think the top one was Lemon, but I'm not sure. I wasn't too keen on the Lime but the rest were yummy!
So then I wandered around to the American Adventure and watched the Voices of Liberty (and filmed their whole set. I love them!) If I could sing with anyone it would be them. You need a pretty strong voice though lol. And you have to sight sing which I don't! Not yet anyway.
So after that I popped round to the R&C and said hi, and then I came back to the Commons! Where I sat on the sofa and watched WE TV all afternoon because it was non stop Bridezillas (and also there was a programme on Disney Fairytale Weddings later.)
I really didn't do much else. I waited until Robyn got home and then we watched the Disney programme (not as exciting as I thought it would be) and we spent a good amount of time looking at the Disney wedding dresses. LOL.
When that finished we headed off to Walmart! I got a table top ironing board and not much else because I didn't need all that much. Then it was a rush for the bus, and we came back and went to McD's! Unhealthy I know, but we were reall hungry, and the only ones in there! I didn't realise until we got back what time it was, so now I am going to go to bed!
Robyn and I are going to the post office tomorrow morning, so I need some sleep! I don't work until 4pm so I can have a nice morning on the sofa haha. Oh also, my schedule for next week is up....four days assigning and one seating so I'm very happy with that! Oh and my shift tomorrow isn't six hours of assigning, it's actually greeting according to the Hub.
Ah well, bed time! Night x
7.3.2009: Maskaphobia = fear of masks
Well today has certainly been busy! This morning I woke Robyn up and we trotted off to Epcot, after Robyn got her new key from front desk and I confirmed that a hammer is not classed as a weapon!
When we got to Epcot we went to Odessy and got breakfast, and then we headed to Test Track to get a FP. Then it was over to the Land to do Soarin', but we didn't want to queue, so we did Living with the Land instead. Then it was over to The Seas to do Nemo, and we were going to do Turtle Talk with Crush, but they were taking too long and we had people to go find. As usual, neither Casey nor Josh could be found, so I'm beginning to think they only work one day a week. Lazy beggars. Se we used our Test Track FP's and went and did Mission Sinise green side. I was the pilot but I pressed the Navigators buttons as well!
After that we wandered into Mouse Gear and I bought some tiny Mickey earings (25% off!) and an awesome pin that's like an Epcot passport. They do one for each park and they're limited edition so I want to get all of them. I also bought some Cherry Coke lip balm from Club Cool and it's awesome! I'll have to be careful or I'll end up eating it. After that we headed to Canada where we stopped off for some nuggets and fries and ate them down at Kidcot. We also picked up some masks to decorate! On the way back through Canada a Photopass guy took pictures of us dancing with our masks. They are such good pictures! We decided to wear the masks all the way through the park (taking them off in Inno lol) and people thought we were mad, but secretly they wanted to be us. I'm going to decorate mine when I get back with all the flags of World Showcase. I'm super awesome like that.
Oh we also did the Imagination Pavilion, just because Journey into Your Imagination always has a five minute wait time and I like that. I once again held my breath and the skunk bit, and we tried to do a funny photo afterwards but it was being stupid and wouldn't let us send the email because the numbers on the keyboard wouldn't work so we couldn't put our birthdate in. Fix it!
So then Robyn had to go to work and I got the bus back to the Commons. I stopped off at costuming to get some white undershirts for cold evenings. Much easier to wear than my big coat when it's busy!
This afternoon I did nothing. I talked to people online, I went to Walgreens (to get some boxes and a hammer and stuff) and then came back and chatted with Richard and Kev on skype. They were kind of freaked out by my mask which is absolutely hilarious and shall be used for freaking them out from now on.
So now Robyn and I are watching the rest of Narnia as we didn't get to finish it last night. Lorena came in and declared she wanted to go bed so we really had no choice but to turn it off (even though we needed to go to bed anyway) which was a little rude because she said it so miserably. I'm really hoping she moves into Elodie's room when there is a space because then Robyn and I can have our own room and everything will be cool.
My head hurts. Tomorrow it's Lucy's birthday and so a bunch from the UK are going drinking round the world. I'm just going to have a margerita from Mexico because I've always wanted one and I don't really drink anyway. That's not until 12.30pm though so I can have a lie in, and iron my white skirt! The clocks go forward tonight so we'll only be four hours behind the UK for a while. Not that it makes much of a difference lol.
Robyn is now moaning because I type a lot. Duh
So anyway, I must go as there is nothing else to say. Night night! xx
6.3.2009: Robyn is hogging my bed...
And by that I mean we're watching Narnia and she's just spread out over my bed. Talk about rude. Well today was interesting to say the least. We had inspection this morning and passed, but got told we have to take things off the wall (i.e. the communicator and 3 small flags that were on the wall; hardly large things). Apparently a new rule was made in January that Disney didn't want us to have anything on our walls except for a notice board hung up with two pins/nails. Well no one told me about this rule! I have a notice board but because it has four pins it's not allowed. Oh, and they gave us notice boards to put up, but they have to be put up with nails, and who round here has a hammer? I'm sure it's classed as a weapon anyway.
I understand why they make these rules, because people abuse their apartments, but how are people supposed to settle in if it feels like you're in a prison or a hospital ward. Actually, I'm sure they're allowed things on the walls as well.
So after that I went to the post office to send a few things, and then I walked back to Vista, where I got the bus to MK so I could deposit some money into my savings account, and then go to Evil PC. I spend some money there lol. But got some nice stuff, including a Coke bag I wanted. (Incidently, they do an awesome cherry coke t-shirt I really want!) Oh and some more tiaras so Robyn and I can both be princesses tomorrow.
Exciting stuff.
I also went to Wally World and then came home and waited years for Robyn to move in. She has the bed in Anita's room, but as Corinne suggested, Lorena should move into her room when she leaves and then Robyn can come into mine.
Woo.
So after we moved all her stuff in, we went to Walgreens to buy nails (because I bent the ones for our noticeboards) and pizza and popcorn.
Right now we're watching Narnia, as I mentioned before, and soon we shall go to bed to rest before our morning of fun tomorrow!
Night night everyone xx
28.2.2009: Not much to blog about really...
Day off number two! Yay! Well this morning I slept in because I could! Having gone to Walmart last it meant I didn't need to go this morning. So I didn't do much except book the resorts for September (Port Orleans Riverside and Animal Kingdom Lodge) and then finally decided to get up because I had to go cash my check at Publix. I've set up my direct debit so that'll be the last one hopefully! I bought some pizza for dinner, and then went to Walgreens to get some birthday cards. All fun, no? Then it was the trek back to the Premium Outlets where I had lunch. I had wanted to get a book from Publix/Walgreens because I've finished the ones I brought with me, but they didn't have any remotely decent ones. Amazon here I come! That's the website, not the actual Amazon.
Ah so what else did I do? I came back and did some washing and a bit of cleaning and not much else! A really lazy day really. Lorena decided to burn a candle earlier so I've left her a little note not to! I don't want those sprinklers going off and destroying my stuff. Though it does smell nice.
So that's about it. I just finished watching the end of Ever After, and now I'm watching Finding Neverland. Oh I also breathed some steam for a couple of minutes. Assigning again tomorrow! I'll update my schedule in a moment...it's really easy. 11.30-21.15 everyday! Haha.
Anyway I've nothing else to say, so goodnight fans!
Oh P.S. I've also uploaded a lot of photos to photobucket (because Freewebs isn't cooperating right now). Here is the link for the CRP section http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k2/DisneyGibbs/CRP%202009 It's the same photobucket as my last program, but all my CRP photos will go into one album.
27.2.2009: Pancakes, Shopping and Olive Garden
Finally, a day off! Yay! Though this morning I still got up stupidly early to go have breakfast with Krystal and Nykki. Krystal made us pancakes and they were so yummy!
So after that I headed over to Publix to cash my last check that needs cashing, but they I realised I had forgotten my passport so I went shopping instead. LOL. Well I say shopping but I only went to Character Connection and got two board games (The Riverboat Game and the Monorail Game) which were really cheap and shall be mucho fun to play. I also went to the Croc shop to see if they had any replacement straps for my shoes but as it's only an outlet they didn't have them. I shall try to get them online!
So I came back and spent the rest of the time online, I did some washing (but didn't do much because I need an airer) and then got down to booking the resorts for when Mum comes! After much searching and changing of dates and stuff we finally booked two nights in Wilderness Lodge, a lot of nights in Saratoga Springs, and one night in the Polynesian in the Honeymoon Room! Madness lol. They weren't bad prices either. Now I just need to see about an annual pass for Mum and we're all sorted.
I was going to go to Chik-Fil-A for lunch, but didn't have time so ate an apple instead. I might go tomorrow. So at 4.26pm Jess and I hopped on the F bus to go to Downtown Disney so we could walk to Olive Garden. It's stupid that the bus won't stop at the Crossroads until the evening, because it's by no means a short walk! We got there though. We sat outside for ages with Krystal, Michelle, Laura and Laura waiting for Matt, and then gave up and went in. Eventually he turned up so we could order food! I had raspberry lemonade and stuffed chicken marsala. It's chicken stuffed with stuff with cheesy mashed potatoes. YUM! I couldn't eat it all so they let my have a to-go box to take it home. It can be used as a snack lol.
So we finally departed and when I got back I waited for Robyn and we went to Walmart! Means I don't have to go early tomorrow. I got some food, but mainly I needed an airer and some bread. I got English toasting bread! Sweet! I also bought some more tights and got some nail varnish. You really don't need to know my entire shopping list.
So when I got back I decided I wanted to watch a film (oh btw I finished watching 'The Little Mermaid: Ariels Beginning' today; I quite like it!) and couldn't decide on a film to find on Youtube so I ended up starting to watch Dumbo.
Well right now I need to sleep because I almost fell asleep watching Dumbo (and it's only just started) and then I remembed I needed to blog, so here it is. Night night everyone!
16.2.2009: Who Rocks The PAC?
Well first of all, as some of you may know, I will not have another day off for 10 days! 10 DAYS!!! Eek. Nothing like working me hard I guess. Also, I have added my schedule to my blog (under 'My Schedule') to make it easier for both you and me!
So today I didn't get up particularly early. We had had a note than a cleaner would be coming to clean up because of a new roommate. It doesn't look like Robyn will be moving in because the woman who deals with it all just can't be found, which sucks because I was really looking forward to living with her! Oh well. So I tidied up a bit more, and then went to collect a package from front desk (it was for Corrine) and then I caught the E bus to DHS to meet Devin. It was absolutely rammed when I got there! I think it was because DHS had EMH tonight. We headed over to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to get FP's, and then decided to queue for Tower of Terror. We must have queued about 30 minutes which wasn't bad, though I was very hungry by the time we finished! We had lunch at the ABC Commissary (I had 'fish and chips' lol) and then went on the Great Movie Ride. I agree with Kev; they really need to update the spiel on that. Then we walked over to the Animation Courtyard and into The Art of Disney Animation to draw some characters! Today we did Stitch. Maybe I should become an animator LOL! Then it was back over to RnR to use our fastpasses. At some point we also did Muppets 3D, and as we were walking to it, we passed the Backlot Tour. Apparently it's closing! There's a sign outside on the construction walls saying something like 'we are in the process of shooting a new production' or something like that. It would be sad if it did close; I do love the Backlot Tour!
Ah well, after RnR we decided to go to MK to stalk some Jungle Skippers. However, when we got there, the only people we knew were the two Josh's, and they're both coordinators! However, we did get on without queueing, and we had an awesome British skipper by the name of Gemma. She was really funny and well worth us going there! Afterwards we did Pirates (and didn't see anyone, though we think we saw Chris) and then Mansion (where we didn't see anyone we knew!) On the way to Mansion we stopped off at the Riverboat and saw Charlie. So we saw a few people I suppose. When we came out from Mansion it was already dark, so we went and bought funnel cakes and sat in the wheelchair section (though parade had not been rolled out) and ate them. We then saw Luis! It was great seeing him (he was rolling for PAC) and we went and stood by his crosswalk and chatted to him. It was so nice to catch up, and he also mentioned how there was no one left that we knew! We did see Chuck though hehe.
Anyway, so after Spectro (I have pictures of the scary clown things with actually faces, not masks, which is even creepier if you ask me) we hung out in the Emporium because it was freezing, and then went out to watch Wishes. Ah Wishes. It wasn't so manic afterwards, but we did get the Resort Monorail back to the TTC. The Devin was really kind enough to drive me home! It was so much fun hanging out with her, and hopefully I shall see her at work before she leaves on Friday. It was just like old times!
Anyway, so in a minute I am going to shut down the notebook and read, because I haven't been awake enough to do so in a long time.
See you tomorrow!
15.2.2009: The Laziest Day Ever
The title of this post basically says it all. I woke up at 10am, and did nothing other than fold up cardboard boxes and tidying some more. I can actually open the door to the closet now! So at lunch time I got really hungry, so decided to go to McD's and dragged Robyn along with me. It was yummy and my last for a long time! We then went to Walmart. Oh the fun. So I came back and got into my pyjamas and am now watching Sleeping Beauty. It's still early so I'll probably watch another film!
Sorry it's so short today. There's not much to say. We were supposed to go to the pool, but it's been cloudy and threatening to rain all day!
Tomorrow I'm off to Disney's Hollywood Studios with Devin! It's been so long since we were at the jungle; I can't wait!
Night night everyone xx
14.2.2009: Day Off Number Two/Lovey Dovey Day
Today I slept in for a looooooooong time. Woo! But eventually I did wake up and decided that as I had a while until we were going to DAK that I would start tidying up Claudia's stuff she left behind. Mainly lots of shoe boxes! I also moved the bed around and hovered a bit.
So at 1.16 Robyn and I headed to DAK. When we got there we did It's Tough To Be A Bug. It's so funny to watch someone who has never been on it before! We then went to Dinosaur to get a FP and then got in line for Finding Nemo: The Musical. I love this musical! I think they've had a cast change because they were different from last time. Like, everyone was. The voices were very different from what I'm used to hearing so it sounded weird. However, as usual, Crush and Dory were amazing!
Then it was time to go back to Dinosaur. I really love that attraction too! Scary dinos. Theeeeeeen we went to Expedition Everest! Yay!
Then it was home time. We went to Publix to cash our checks and to get dinner for meeeeeee. (E's galore today....) and then I came home, had dinner, and now I'm sitting here watching Centre Stage and still tidying up lol. We've had so much sugar today that I'm not remotely sleepy yet. Tired yes, ready to go to bed, no.
Tomorrow shall be a really lazy day. Bit of tidying, swimming and walmart. That'll do me!
See you all tomorrow! xx
13.2.2009: Hanging Out With A Ghost
I got a lie in today! Yay! Today was the first day of my four days off. Though I did check like a million times last night that I had a day off. Firstly I got woken up by my roommate because she was leaving today. At least I presume she has fully left because there is still stuff here, but they've changed the locks so she can't get back in anyway!
Anyway, I wasn't going to get up until 9am, but woke up at 8am instead. So I checked my email and spoke to Mum on msn, and also checked my record card. So all most past Great Service Fanatic cards are on there, as well as a new point! Argh! It was for Sunday and I didn't have my ID then which means one of the facilitators forgot to clock me in. Oh well, I'll see a manager on Tuesday about it.
So at 10am I went to knock on Robyn's door, but first I went to change my key. In the end I didn't have to knock because she was already on her way, so we walked to Chatham to get the A bus to West Clock. We got there just in time! When we got to West Clock we went over to Partners to cash our checks, but totally forgot we needed our passports! What a pain. Oh well, I would have ended up spending it anyway. I did manage to order my new debit card though. Then we checked out Property Control and Cast Connection. I bought a YoMD mug and a couple of holographic cups that we collect, and also a new Coin Press holder. I plan on printing out the list of all the coin press locations and getting every single one! So
So then we got the bus back to Vista and went to Wendy's. It hasn't changed much that's for sure! Then it was back to Vista to catch the bus to Epcot. We dropped off our bags in our lockers, and then went to get a FP for Test Track. It wasn't until 6-7pm so we had plenty of time to play! We then went to Guest Relations to get a 1st Visit button for Robyn, and I got an I'm Celebrating button! Yay. We then went to the Photopass people at the main gate to have our picture taken. I want to get as many on there as possible and then buy the CD in three months. If I'm rich enough lol. Two women was also kind enough to give us their Soarin' FP's (I presume they wouldn't be able to use them) so that was good because there were no more left!
I can't really remember the order of things we did today but I shall give a general overview. OK, so we did Kim Possible's World Showcase Adventure
***SPOILER ALERT***SPOILER ALERT***
This is purely for Kev's benefit because he doesn't want to know what happens. Not a lot really. It was very good but you only get to do one country and it only takes 30 mins, unlike the original previews in 2006. We got to do Norway! So we were given the Kim-municator and had to follow the clues to save Norway from some horrible fashion designer...yeah, just what I was thinking. We kept walking past clues and then having to walk back (because the Kim-municator kept telling us to walk further away!) but we managed to make all the signals work and eventually save the world! Not bad for something that is free.
Ok Kev, you can look back now.
So we went and did Soarin' and afterwards made a complaint to one of the Leaders; whilst waiting in line, four Soarin' CM's had been mucking around onstage in front of us and when one of the girls was doing the announcement she had to stop loads of times to laugh and it was highly unprofessional in front of all those guests.
Then is was off to more Innoventions! We did Where's the Fire? and I love how my tiny princess tiara got me so much attention LOL. Robyn, you must get one! The presenter (Josh) was extremely good at his role...so kudos to him. Later we realised we much have been stalking him because we went to Don't Waste It! and he had been moved to there! Not our fault LOL! I do love Innoventions though. We went to the Slapstick Studios to see What's Your Problem (where I was the Queen! Yay tiaras!) which was all about Velcro and stuff. We also went to ThinkPlace and put ourselves in a video game! It's so funny. We also went on Stormstruck for the first time. You get taken into a room and wear 3D glasses and it's supposed to imitate hurricane weather. Not quite so windy, but it was a good attraction.
We then did Test Track and I had to redo my hair, and then we went on Spaceship Earth. I can never get enough of that! The park closed early today at 8pm due to EMH from 8-11pm, so Illuminations was early. We headed over to China to have something to eat (Orange Chicken and rice). I didn't eat it all; I think my appetite has shrunk as I haven't been eating much in the last week! Not enough time! So then it was back over to World Showcase Plaza to get seated for Illuminations. I think they've changed the fireworks slightly as there were some I didn't recognise, but on the whole it was fabulous as usual. Then it was time to get the bus back to the Commons.
So here I am in bed. I've just watched Stick It (my CD/DVD ROM works wonders...I even got a DVD-R with it! Not sure why because I didn't think I could record onto DVD's. Oh well, we shall see. I'm not going to bed right now because I'm not all that tired, so may read for a bit.
Happy reading fans!
6.2.2009: Woo finally, internet that works!
Yes, I now have a ethernet cable. Joy all round!
Today all us UK lot went to Universal. Ashleigh (that may not be how you spell it, but anyway, she's Stu's friend) came with us too. She has never been to Universal so it was all fun! She's part time in Entertainment and is about to be friends with the Evil Queen. I'm not jealous one bit . So anyway, we headed over to the Premium Outlets and got the I-Ride from there. $1.25 all the way to almost Universal...not bad! It took about 45 mins and didn't take us all the way, but the walk to Universal was hardly a trek. We all bought Power Pass Annual Passes (I totally forgot you could buy them at Publix for $114 plus tax, but oh well). They cost us $160 with black out dates, but later on if we want to we can upgrade to one of the higher ones. It's good because you only pay for the months remaining on your current annual pass...aka per rota.
I won't comment much on what we did, because Universal is pretty much self explanatory, though we didn't do everything. We have a whole year to do it all! The Mummy is still awesome and we did ET. Jaws is shut at the moment which sucks a bit, but the new rollercoaster is due to open this year so we'll definitely get to try that! We spent a bit of time in Islands of Adventure, but as the parks closed at 6 we left a bit earlier. We were going to go to Denny's and Congo River Golf, but tomorrow we have Traditions and have to get the bus at 6.15 (so really I should be in bed now). I can't wait! I really want my nametag and I|D. That's the most exciting bit!
So anyway, we came home, wandered around Publix (but they had everything but ethernet cables ) and then came back to the Commons. I then came back, had some soup and got on the bus to Walmart. That's when it really felt like I'd been here ages! Getting that bus was so familiar to me. So now I'm going to go to bed and hope I wake up in time! I know I will anyway. I've worked out I can take the straps off my work shoes, so if they have a problem with them I can alter them. Lucky me!
Night night everyone! xx
5.2.2009: Eek, A Thunderstorm! (at Rainforest hehe)
Yay!I didn’t have to
get up early today, which was good because I was so knackered.Krystal came round last night and we talked,
which was awesome.I didn’t go to the UK
meet and greet because I was so tired, and also because it was a throw in.Apparently ten people have been terminated
already (not from the UK I don’t think) for having a throw in, so it’s a good
job I didn’t go!
Also, it turns out I brought a telephone cable instead of an
ethernet cable, so I’ll need to go buy a new one as the wireless is dodgy
here.It just won’t connect sometimes
(hence why I’m posting this today and not yesterday).
So today we had our social security form filling session, as
well as a presentation from the immigration people and Partners FCU.Lots of stuff I had heard before, and it was
really cold in there!I don’t have to go
to social security so didn’t need to fill the form out. Also, my personal number for Disney is the
same as last time so I don’t have to worry about that either! The Partners presentation didn’t apply to me
either, but as I had questions to ask it was helpful that I was there.I just need to go into the bank and apply for
a new debit card, but I’ll do that after I’ve set up my direct deposit on
Saturday.
So after the presentations Mary and I headed over to the
Premium Outlets.Spending already
LOL.We went to Character Connection and
I got another colouring book, a Wildcats t-shirt (one I’ve been wanting for
ages to go with my costume!) and a couple of other bits. The other shop we went to was Guess and I got
a couple of t-shirts because they were buy one get one 50% off.So it’s all good.We also got four cookies between us…they
taste so good!
So then we came back, dumped the stuff off at my apartment
and headed back to meet the others at the bus stop.We hopped onto the F bus to Downtown Disney
for dinner and decided to eat at the Rainforest Café.Although the wait was over an hour we spent
the time looking in the shops (Mary bought a Stitch….hehe) and finally went
back to eat.I had a burger and chips,
and a coke.I couldn’t even eat it
all!You forget how big the portions are
when you’ve been away for so long. Before long it was time to get the bus back, and here I am in my
apartment aboutgo to bed.
Tomorrow we’re off to Universal to hang out and get annual
passes.We’re getting the I-Ride which
shall be an experience in itself!Though
I have ridden it before hehe.Stu said
something about there being a pass which is about $100 and its valid until the
end of the year, rather than a whole year, which would be ideal and cheap. We’ll get Florida resident prices
anyway.I might just put it on my credit
card, but we’ll see how much they are first.I’d go online to check but alas, no internet.
So I’ve made myself a cup of tea, and filled up my hot water
bottle (to keep myself warm despite that horrible draft through the window.
Right, bedtime and time to read my book; Angels and
Demons. It comes out on film soon…yay!
Night night everyone!
4.2.2009: Who needs sleep, eh?
That's right, I hardly got any sleep last night. I just couldn't stay asleep! Oh well, four hours was enough lol. I got up and washed my hair, and then unpacked everything else before going to the Clubhouse for 9am! We went and had our passports and Visas checked, and then filled in some forms. Turns out I don't have to go to Social Security on the 19th which is awesome because its a 6am start anyway! We got our itinerary as well. Tomorrow we have more orientation...then Friday is a day off and Saturday is Traditions!!! So can't wait. Then they said we'd probably have Sunday off (woo play time!) and start training on Monday. How exciting!!!
So after all the presentations a whole bunch of us UK lot headed off for lunch over at the Premium Outlets. We wandered around a bit, then came back, had a gawp at the pool and the gym and waited for the bus to take us to Vista Way. We went to the Pavilion and I pointed out my old apartment to anyone who would listen, and then we went to have all our checks done. My ID picture looks almost identical to my Visa picture except I'm smiling hehe.
So now I've just got back. Mary has gone to unpack some more, and then Stu is going to take Mary, Dan, one of the Canadian girls (I don't remember her name...eek!) and me to walmart again. For stuff I forgot or couldn't get last night. We've been invited to a couple of parties tonight, but we may only go to say hi because one starts at 11.45pm! There's also a welcome thing with Mickey at Vista Way which we may go to depending on how long we're in wallyworld.
So that's about it so far. I shall blog some more tonight if I have time, if not, I'll see you all tomorrow!
Laters xx
3.2.2009: Won't You Take Me To Orlando Where The Sun Is Shining Bright?
It's February 3rd!!! Yes that's right, time for me to go to Orlando!
So this morning we got up and set off to Gatwick Airport. We managed to get off the drive so that was a good start. (For those of you who failed to notice it snowed a lot in the UK, the South East was the worst hit, and of course, Gatwick is situated there.) We then tackled the bypass and that went well, went up to the M25 and had no problems there, so I thought we were going to be fine. Er, no. The M23 caused us problems. As we were coming onto the straight before the Gatwick we got caught in a queue. Some inconsiderate person had had an accident! So we sat there for about 45 mins. I text Mary and she was stuck in it too, so at least we were in the same boat. Eventually it started moving and we finally made it to South Terminal! Whoop!
So first I went to get my bags wrapped. In cling film, so it would protect the decal on the front, and so they wouldn't burst as they were that full! So we headed off to Zone A for Virgin Atlantic and I checked in. At the check in desk the woman said my luggage was overweight, until I reminded her I was flying Premium Economy. Duh. I was standing at the Upper Class desk as well.
Then it was time for breakfast...Frankie and Benny's...yum yum.
Then it was time to say goodbye, and I went through the Fast Track lane. Everywhere was empty anyway. I got through to departures, bought a drink from WHSmith (so I could take my tree bark and not gag) and then went to find my gate! Gate 13 it was. Unlucky for some maybe, not for me. I met with Mary and Scott and it wasn't long before it was time to board! Being PE, we were allowed on first, and I soon found my seat. 72H, Aisle seat. Whoop! From there on, the flight was pretty normal. The films weren't that great but I did watch Madagascar 2...love it! Then I spent the rest of the time listening to my iPod, reading my book, playing tetris and reading the laptop of the guy next to me LOL. The food was really nice! I had gnocchi in a spinach and tomatoe sauce. Absolutely gorgeous. Then it was a Gu pot for pudding. YUM!
So then we landed. In Terminal B. I raced down to customs and handed over my forms. All easy peasy. I waited for my luggage which came fast (two guys helped me lift them off and onto a trolley!) and headed through the food bit, telling them I only had chocolate lol. They didn't look at me strangely. So then I had the suitcases sent to Terminal A. Mary and Scott were still in customs so off I went. I took the monorail to Terminal A and waited for year for my suitcases to come again. In the meantime I text Stu and he set off. Here's where it all went stupid. Stu arrived just as my suitcases came round, so I text Mary to ask where they were. Mary tried to call me but for some reason her phone wouldn't allow it. So then Scott called me and said they were by the Mears stand. So we walked to one end of the terminal and they weren't there. So we walked to the other end and they weren't there either. So I called Scott and it turns out they were in Terminal B! I was in A. So they decided to get the Mears shuttle and Stu would drive me.
So you'd think all my problems would be over. No lol. Stu will hate me for this, but he went completely the wrong way LOL. So we had to turn around and head back to the airport, past it and then the right way! We got to Vista at about 8pm and Mary and Scott had only just got there before me. So then it was time to see my apartment! I'm in apartment 1922. Quite easy to remember. It's on the second floor, but the front door is on the ground floor. There are stairs inside going up (pictures to come later!) I live with 5 other girls. I've only met 2 of them (one French and the other Mexican; they are lovely.) The Mexican girl is my actual roommate but she is leaving soon. The other girls are English, South African and Norwegian (I think!) I suppose I shall meet them all in due course.
So then Stu, Mary, Scott and I went to Walmart....I spent $148! I did get an awesome hairdryer though for like $16. It's a good one too. I then came home and unpacked all my stuff. James and Casey came to visit! It's so awesome to start seeing everyone!
So tomorrow is our initial orientation. Filling in of forms and housing presentations and getting ID's, so it's going to be a pretty busy day. I suppose I should do to bed if I want any sleep...I need to be up at 7am just to wash my hair. My roommate isn't back yet so hopefully I won't get woken up, although I am beyond sleep right now.
